Negative experience--same sort of thing that others have mentioned here. I sign up for a 5-day subscription (which requires you to also say, "yes, you can charge me for the next month when that subscription ends"). I forget about that subscription, call the day after I am charged for the month-long subscription, and I am told repeatedly that they only offer refunds if "there have been no Services rendered to the User". I eventually got a prorated refund--but only after a lot of time wasted going back and forth with a rather frustrating customer service agent on their website (they offer no phone number to call). I had to specify that I wanted the subscription to end immediately and to not use any of their services for the duration of the new subscription (the 29 remaining days in the month-long subscription). It took a while (I count 23 messages between me and the customer service rep), but they at least get 2 stars because I did eventually get a partial refund. Unfortunately, they even charge a 15% "handling fee" on all refunds. The company has described their refund policy in press releases and on their website as a "no questions asked" policy. That was not at all the experience I had.

I signed up for like a week subscriptionThen they ended up charging me for a monthly subscription which was not very visible on their sign up pageI filed a complaint with [redacted] and they suspended my accountI did not win with [redacted] so I needed to make sure my subscription is cancelled but I can't do that with a suspended accountThey won't answer their phone

My credit card has charged against my consentI registered only for days trialThey upgrade my account and charged me one monthNo one in the company addressed the issue in spite of all my follow upsNo way to talk to customer serviceI have sent lots of messages and only got non sense replies which was irrelevant to my complainI need REFUND my money, and proper apology from Roomster for wasting my time for last two days following up their terrible business and for them getting advantage of my credit card!!

Roomster is making my search for a room share much harder, both on and off the Roomster site Off Roomster, perhaps 20% of the local listings on Craigslist are a form of Roomster spam Roomster pays "affiliates" to create fake listings Roomster, "wink wink" says this activity is "against our policy" Ha I've followed up on enough Roomster direct ads to have given up entirely: everything was a dead end or an obvious scam Now I've got this woman "from the Ukraine" trying to get me to send her $$$ and she'll express mail me the keys to an apartment (an apartment, I checked, she does not own and is not vacant)

Total scam You click on how long you want to use roomster with the price listed and they automatically set up a $monthly subscription for you Very shady company and take notice that reviews are disabled on their [redacted] Page That says enough right there

Charged me $24.95 after I cancelled my account. I do not give them permission to charge me. I want a FULL refund.

Like many who have previously filed complaints, I was wrongly billed by RoomsterThey buried their renewal policy deep in their terms and conditions, and when I signed up, I thought I was only paying the ~$trial fee, which was all I was willing to pay, given that it seemed ridiculous to me that a company would charge me to see messages of potential roommates, when something like Craigslist does the same exact thing for free This unauthorized charging happened for months, again with no notification of charges (I never check the credit card statement for the card I put down because I never use it otherwise), so I didn't find out until after the months had already passed, and I was charged ~$for absolutely nothingI went back and forth with customer service to get a refund for both months, since I didn't go on the site for those months after I encountered a scammer during my trial periodAfter this back-and-forth, I got refunded for only month (they originally only ga

I was charged for two months of services that I did not useWhen I explained myself to customer service they did not want to refund me my moneyI explained to them that I did not receive any emails with reciepts and that I was not active on their site for those two monthsThey gave me a runaround and said that I agreed to the services when I signed upIf I didn't use your services I should be chargedThe service they provide is great but I should be charged for something I didn't use

Roomster Corp uses shady practices for billing charges and intentionally obscure advertisement to hide the fact of the future chargesI used the "day trial" subscription option on the site, after three days, without proper warning issued (turned out, they sent it to an e-mail they got from Facebook profile — not the one stated on the billing page) they charged $for one month on the serviceNote also, that the charge is still named "day trial" 9:07:PM day trial Cancellation - by user $ Success 10:00:PM day trial Renewal $Card Approved 9/*/9:13:PM day trial Initial buy $Card Approved [redacted]   The customer service representative was very rude and threatening, they declined any inquiries of cancellation refund PS Also, I would suggest investigation in the nature of the service: it appears to use computer-generated data not related to actual sellers advertised

Hello, I signed up for Roomster to find a temporary room to rent before purchase of a homeI signed up for the trail period of $and was told I had thirty days until a $charge would be appliedInstead, they deducted from my account for seven days and immediately charged the $I contacted them via their website, which is the only way to contact them, and got a series of computer generated responses like they have this whole thing wired up to just collect money with no customer supportBy the way, the service itself sucksI got a bunch of bogus messages from guys named Heather and girls named BillAt first, I was willing to work with themNow, I'm ready to burn Roomster to the groundThey charged me twice, overdrew my bank account and their bogus service just cost my company $Not one real contact was made to rent a roomThis service sucks and the customer service is non existentThey should be shut down and asked to repay all those they have mislead

I purchased a 5-day subscription with them for $Apparently the memberships renew automatically, which was a mistake on my behalf because I should have payed closer attentionHowever, I never received any receipt or any type of acknowledgement for them charging my card an additional $so I never knew until I checked my statementWhen I noticed this charge, I completely cancelled my account and looked through their terms of use and found their refund policy which states: Refund PolicyRefunds are only available if there have been no Services rendered to the Userlf you cancel your Full Membership subscription on or prior to the end of the initial subscription period, you will not receive a refund for any fees paid for the initial subscription periodHowever, if your Full Membership subscription automatically renews as described in Section 5(C), and if you cancel your Full Membership subscription before the end of current subscription period, you will be entitled to rece

I've been searching for a place to live in a shared housing situation in order to save money and get ahead in lifethis company is being used by a LOT of people on [redacted] (go figure) and seems to be a way of stealing money or personal information I would strongly suggest that the FTC look into shutting this place down because it's never been effective and I see only bad reviews That seems like a big problem!!

I signed up for three days to find q place to live But all day, I've been cut off and having to start over too many times just to send my message to people renting their rooms I tried contacting customer service and after trying although I was unsuccessful, I was know longer able to log in to my account I wasted my money with this company and would like a refund If I do not log in to cancel I will automatically be charged again for three more days This is a complete rip off since I can't even log back in to cancelI have not finished my three days and would like too I tried resetting my password and the system would accept any email I enterI will keep trying and I will dispute the charges and future charges with my bank today

Roomster Corp is a shady business that pays people to respond to Roommate ads on services like Craigslist to try and persuade you to sign up for their servicesSo someone will respond to a roommate ad and give you a link to go to which goes to Roomster and they will state they prefer to communicate through that service onlyThe only way to sign up is to connect with Facebook and at that point Roomster has all your personal information and friends list from FacebookIf you respond to the response stating no thanks they try to get you to go there by telling you it's FREE! Nothing is free when you give away your personal information to them It's a very shady practice to pay people to get customers the wrong wayI hope that this company goes out of business due to this nature and that people stay away from them due to these illegal practices

I signed up for a day trail and started receiving unknown chargesWhen you call their customer services line the first thing it says is, "if you're calling about billing issues, fill out the form online"When you go to fill the form out no one gets back to youIT IS A COMPLETE SCAM!

Roomster is a total scamYou sign up for a seemingly reasonable $trial fee, and then they immediately upgrade you to a premium account and start charging you $a monthNot only is their roommate finding website garbage, but they automatically charge you knowing that you didn't realize you agreed to these termsIf you search on their website, they have a huge paragraph about why the charges are legalI have sent a report to the [redacted] and recommend others do as well

I signed up whit this company for a three day hour trial It was to rent a home to another party I canceled the account and was then charged for a day plan with them I tries to get a reversal or at the very least get the days added to a new account as I deleted and canceled the previous account not knowing I was charged for the day account Before I canceled there was a transaction feature to tell me where and when I was on their account I contacted them multiple times with no response but when I tried to get back on they responded promptly with info about my account noy having pics and of the sort.they never offered a phone number to talk directly the only form of contact is by support which required a account to even send a message All I would like is a reversal of the charge which is well within hours of the bank charge I even offered to just let me keep the account but I really don't want that at this point

Roomster offers several different "plans" 1) a $dollar plan which provides a post for roommates for a few days, 2) a more expensive plan that gives you services for a longer period of time and 3) an unlimited plan for When you sithere are large boxes and you must check oneBut, essentially, there is only one plan- a unlimited service because the two shorter plans automatically turn into the unlimited one unless you cancel your plan with themWhen someone is looking for a roommate there is a limited period of time they need services because as soon as they find someone they no longer need to advertise for a roommatethis is the type of service that extinguishes itself No one ever needs an unlimited planFinding a roommate is extremely stressfulThis company hides its true billing policy in fine print I'm angry that I found this all out weeks later (when I got my credit card bill that had dollars in extra fees charged to it when it was obvious in m

My son rented a room on [redacted] as a verified listing, and signed a lease with the person via email in The Boston area. The first month and security deposit was sent by wire to her and received by her with confirmation code with my identification information as I am his mom. Then about a week later my son received an email from the mother of the girl he signed with, stating that she was going to rent to another person and would refund the money. The mother stated that the new person was going to pay the whole 4 months rental upfront, and she asked my son if would he like to be refunded. He said since you are renting to someone else then yes I want to be refunded, and since then they keep saying that they sent it and nothing shows up. They also sent a different bank account and said the extra money for the other months rent could be sent there even when he said he wanted a refund . When he text her to check on the money she keeps saying in a stern way that they need my full n

Like many who have previously filed complaints, I was wrongly billed by Roomster. They buried their renewal policy deep in their terms and conditions, and when I signed up, I thought I was only paying the ~$6 trial fee, which was all I was willing to pay, given that it seemed ridiculous to me that a company would charge me to see messages of potential roommates, when something like Craigslist does the same exact thing for free. This unauthorized charging happened for 2 months, again with no notification of charges (I never check the credit card statement for the card I put down because I never use it otherwise), so I didn't find out until after the 2 months had already passed, and I was charged ~$60 for absolutely nothing. I went back and forth with customer service to get a refund for both months, since I didn't go on the site for those 2 months after I encountered a scammer during my trial period. After this back-and-forth, I got refunded for only 1 month (they originally only ga
