Roomster is a total scamYou sign up for a seemingly reasonable $trial fee, and then they immediately upgrade you to a premium account and start charging you $a monthNot only is their roommate finding website garbage, but they automatically charge you knowing that you didn't realize you agreed to these termsIf you search on their website, they have a huge paragraph about why the charges are legalI have sent a report to the *** and recommend others do as well

I used *** for a one time day trial on April *** for $5.95, however I noticed on June *** that I was charged $I checked my bank statement for the past days and I noticed that I was charged $on April **, and May *** *total $89.95) as wellI checked my account on the website and It shows that my subscription was cancelled from the first time (April **)I did not renew my account, and I never received any notification from *** giving confirmation of the charges except from the first purchaseI contacted *** customer service department and I have not heard from them either

Complete SCAM! They keep bombarding my email with FAKE People looking for a room just so I log into their app only to charge to see a response that NEVER EXISTED

Roomster falsely advertises their productThey claim to be a roommate/housing connection serviceTo gain access to their "product" (i.emessages from potential roommates), you must purchase a subscription to their serviceI was initially notified that I had three messages from potential roommates, after joining the site and emailing three housing adsAfter purchasing a subscription, it became apparent that the other "users" of the website were spam
For one, the users I were contacted by all stated they were looking for roommates in the state of "California," provided no details on the city of residence, and had images off of google, rather than the city I was specifically searching forThey were clearly spam accounts
Most significantly, I initially found Roomster through several *** ads, where a potential housing ad or roommate would contact me, telling me that they had housing that fit my needs (as I had a *** ad up), but that for further correspondence, we

Fraudulent! When you purchase a temporary, 3-day, 15-day, 30-day membership they DO NOT tell you that it will be automatically renewed when you're subscription is upThey charge your cardI paid for a membership for days and when it ran out they charged by for a 30-day without my permissionThey also have fake ads posted through their site and through craigslistComplete ss

They will not delete my accountI no longer have the facebook
Page and I have selected several times to unsubscribe me
They email me daily on two of my emails And members
Are messaging me and I don’t want a room or are not offering a room!
I put in google spam and junk but the constant keep coming back in my email

RIP OFF...they charged me 5x in one month! Then said I must have held down the key to be charged double, guess all the people complaining about it did that tooThey are a deceptive and conniving company, that SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESSNext step will be to contact a consumer advocate in the news media to follow John S*** around and ask him how he can sleep at night, at to PAY BACK ALL THE PEOPLE HE RIPPED OFF>

I purchased a 15-day subscription from the company which ends today, 6/*/I have cancelled the subscription but have been billed for a renewal of $I have days to cancel the subscription and have done so today - the 15th dayWhy am I already being billed for a renewal? Their website has a list of FAQ's but getting through to the actual company is impossible

I signed up for the day trial with Roomster at They give you the option to sign up for 1, 3, or daysBut they don't make it obvious you are also signing up for a subscriptionIf I choose to only sign up for days instead of why would I want an additional days after my trial (unannounced)I'm sure there's fine print in the initial sign up that mentions a day subscription, but if i'm not signing up for the days to begin with and I only want why would you assume I want another month
Then I decided to try to contact the company with their 24/button which was impossible, no phone number just messaging through their websiteThey got back to me with a generic message they post to everyone who has the same complaint (you'd think if everyone is complaining about the same thing they would try to fix the problem) Their generic response is that they wouldn't charge a card without my permission, but they also are not refunding me for something I'm not usingI

Roomster is the worst DO NOT USE THEM I was looking for a room and actually had someone contact me and tell me that if I sent them via western union 500$ they would send me the keys so that I could see the unit Complete scam DO NOT USE THEM And lets not forget they charged me for monthly rate days after I signed up for a day trial

Posted a room on *** and got a response from a San Francisco numberHere are the details: ***
Obviously a spammer from roomster.com as that is where the link sent me and wanted a login using ***

Purchased a 3-day membership for about $with Roomster They NEVER mentioned my account would automatically renew to the monthly price of $once the days was up Submitted a refund request on that 3rd dayThey messaged back on November *** saying I would receive a full refund in a few business days Two weeks later, I still haven't received my refund

This company offers a short service optionI selected days and was billed for days then a yearThey are a sketchy company because they do not warn you that you will be charged for the full year ($50) and I did not authorize this paymentNow they are threatening to affect my credit scoreThey never actually sent me an email with this informationThey never told me my card would be charged $They sent an internal message about a subscription, that is allAnd this is not sent to my emailCompletely shady and dishonest business operation and they refuse to refund my moneyI am furious

Roomster is a scamThey deleted my account after dayTheir contact links only work if you have an accountSince they deleted my account, I was unable to log in and use their Contact Us linkThis alerted me to search Revdex.com100% negative reviewsFurther research online, they are auto billing consumers that sign upI had to change my credit card number to ensure I didn't fall into the same trapHow horrible that Roomster was and is an app that is approved and available on *** downloadable apps for iPhoneRoomster is fraudulent

This site has an app that has a "delete account" button inside the app, but it does not deleteIt continues to auto renewYou have to go find the email receipt and go to the bottom and find a link that tells you that you have to cancel your subscription through google playIt says you can cancel anytime and the app has no instructions in it to tell you that your account is not really deletedIts a bait and switchThey also are supposed to charge you once a week, but charge you twice sometimesI am looking to be reimbursed for charges of Billing would not refund me

I asked for a refund because their website is plagued by fake profiles of scam artistsIve been getting only messages from fake people trying to take my money and once I tell them no they insult and harrass me viciouslyI brought this up with customer service and I got ignoredThey need to give me my money back since they dont have any sort of quality control!

The Roomster app was sent to me immediately after I posted a listing for a roommate on *** The trial offer of $for days was offered to continue viewing the app Apparently if you do not cancel within days Roomster charges you $for a monthly package with no warning I continued to be charged for months with no notice even though they had my email address and could easily send notifications my way I finally found out I was being charged after seeing my credit card statement Every roommate contact that was forwarded to me appeared to be a scam I believe these contacts were scams because as soon as I asked for a rental application to be filled out, I never heard from them again Every contact through Roommster had a far fetched story about wanting to rent the place sight unseen and that they wanted to send money right away to secure the room I do not recommend Roommster.com as a sight to find roommates They prey on those who use *** to make legitimate connections

When I purchased a Day subscription it was not clear that they would auto renew me for daysIf anything they should auto renew for the same subscription and send an email regarding it that is clearI never saw any notification during checkout that I would be auto renewed for a full days if I did not cancel within daysThey have no way to call anyone, it was practically impossible to find their messaging system because you have to scroll to the very bottom and messages are embedded in a page, not on a page titled "messages"I never thought to look down there to see this message

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
I used the services of this website for four hoursAsked for a refund after filing scammedWs totally deniedI paid for an entire weekI used like 3% of the week and couldn't get any refundThe customer service was terribleJust denied my request completelyI responded to rental ads on ***t an they would send me automated texts sending me back to roomsterThey reporting bait ads to redirect you to their websiteIt's ridiculous DO NOT USE!!!

I am so glad I came here and found almost all the issues I had over the last hoursI really thought I was losing my mindThe only reason I didn't fall for their tricks was because when I tried to "sign in" as a new user via ***, which I never, ever do, I saw my ENTIRE FB page on there! EverythingIncluding posts that were marked "only me" because they were articles I wanted to go back and read but not postThat freaked me outI'm a single woman living alone with two big dogs that would just stand there if I was being attacked (maybe notI don't want to find out) and this company wants to expose everything from my *** page?? No
I asked why all the people looking for rooms didn't have anything filled out on their profileHow do you match people if the people on one side (the renters) aren't required to fill anything out? Maybe that was part of the "Upgrade" benefitI don't know
Now, I'm just angry because I wasted so much time crafting an ad that communicated exactly the house arrangement, which is different than others just asking for a roommateUgh
How has this guy stayed in business for YEARS??? I'm going to contact some of my tech reporter friends and see if they want to write a story on this company
