I was tricked into signing up, multiple emails into an ad I put on craigslist told me to sign up for Trial of Roomster to verify myself as eligible roomate Only to find out that they were fake profiles and that my "Trial" was no trial at all it was a "No Refunds" commitment to purchase with an automatic monthly renewal unless otherwise cancelled I fell the company is allowing this to happen and not refunding any customers I had asked for refund very next day when I found out it was information I was receiving They did not reply to my email

Now I recently became a member of RoomsterA website which I thought I could find a room for rent at a desirable priceI authorized the company to take out of my account for a three day trialWhich was one of three optionsOn the third day of service my account was charged for Which is strange because when I became a member nobody told me about a renewalI would understand an additional if the service automatically renewsBut 29.95! I tried to contact Roomsters number which no actual person answersI also tried the 24/help deskFunny how there wasn't anybody availability 24/and they also weren't any helpI did my research and I'm not the only one who has had this issueWhy hasn't Roomster fixed this issueWhy don't they make the terms of service more blatantWhy call it a 24/help desk if no one real is ever availableI hope we can work this out and I can get my money back

I signed up for a 30-day trial subscription on 8/**/ I just found out they charged my credit card $n 9/**, 10/** and 11/** without my consent I notified the company within days of the initial trial that I was cancelling my trial subscription They did not have my consent to charge my credit card for three more months of service beyond the initial trial

I opened a trial for only daysfor $I only wanted to try the site out however I was charged That was not what I wanted to be chargedAs I only signed on the site to quickly find a placeYou call the phone number it says please go to our website and ask questions there I didn't know anything about 'recurring' payments until after they charged me otherwise I would have never signed up on the siteThe only thing I would like is a refund as I only wanted to use the site for the days and would have not extened it for

I ordered a "Day Trial" membershipIn tiny letters in the confirmation email, it stated that my day trial would become a full membership and charge my card $per monthI hadn't realized this, and so my card was charged $3x for services I didn't use
I contacted customer service to request a refundI could only contact customer service through the website, no phone number was listedThey agreed to refund the most recent charge, October *, but did not even acknowledge my requests for a refund for the month of September - a month when I never logged into the site or used it in any way

Extremely misleading pricing tacticsCustomer service that hides behind a website, instead of an actual call centerScammers all over the siteProperty owners do not have to fill out any information on their room, which tethers you along, waiting for a replyA complete waste of time and money

This company advertises on the internet giving customers the choice of getting an ad for days, days or a month I specifically ordered the day and paid $and they went and charged me another $ I learned on the internet that this company has a business practice to defraud people by this deceptive advertising

This Website is BSI created an account and paid for it on 5/30/and on 6/4/they charged me tripple of what I paid for on 5/then on 6/5/they delete my account

Roomster uses a predatory scheme where in the product select page did they in no way or form says you're purchasing a subscription, only in the payment page they tell you in tiny little small fonts that you are purchasing a subscriptionThey also send you an essay as a friendly reminder that no one in a busy life will read more than two sentence in

This service is terribleI signed up for the smallest/shortest subscription for hours to try it outThen, because I didn't cancel my short subscription, they auto enrolled me in a monthly subscriptionI canceled the service and reached out to their customer support team to try and get my money back for the auto renew portion, but they were incredibly rude and kept pushing back and refusing to appease the situationInstead of apologizing for the bait and switch tactic that they use, the support team kept telling me charges were authorizedI would not recommend this service to anyone

As others have said, Roomster is a scam, pure and simple Roomster, likely under the guise of affiliates, posts dozens of, sometimes incredibly detailed, rental posts on craigslist.org with attractive amenities and/or prices Upon contacting the emails or phone numbers listed on these posts inquiring about the rentals, you are told to sign up first at a given webpage which, regardless of the address, redirects to *** Roomster then requires you to sign up in order to view the available rentals in the area, however none of the original craigslist properties for which you were initially inquiring are real In addition, to communicate with the actual posted rentals on Roomster, you must pay to access your "messages" for spans as short as days for $16, and yet these messages are not real, nor are the rentals listed on Roomster itselfRoomster's fraudulent activities are illegal advertising, and violate Federal Trade Commission regulations As a local example, it seems an enormous proportion of craigslist rental posts in Los Angeles, perhaps as much as 50% of all posts, are Roomster scams These scams are in direct violation of the California Business and Professions Code §§ et seq., also know as the Unfair Competition Law Should the Revdex.com choose not to pursue action against Roomster, I will be seeking suit against the company for its fraudulent practices in California Superior Court, and I encourage others to who have been scammed by Roomster to research advertising laws in their local jurisdictions and consider pursuing similar litigation Do not take seriously the apparent attempts of a Roomster representative to make threats against these reviews claiming that they are "slander"this person does not know the difference between slander and libel (which these written statements would be were they libelous) which they are not as they contain factual accounts of Roomster's illegal activities I have included below a few of Roomster's lines attempting to scam craigslist visitors to sign up on their website, and pay to access additional features such as the Roomster inbox"* ** *** *** *** *** *** *** ** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ** * *** ** *** *** ***"
(the exact above statement has been sent on several separate posts from the following email addresses: ***, *** *** *** *** *** ***
"Room still available. If interested please first sign up here *** then I'll call you and set up a time to view the room."
"Room still available. If interested please first sign up here *** then I'll call you and set up a time to view the room."

This business charges auto renewals without proper notificationThey claim to send reminders but they do not

This company engages in crooked business practicesThey blatantly ignore requests not to be contacted by businesses on websites such as CraigslistSave yourself the trouble of their useless service that doesn't workThis company will soon be sold because it is a flop

I only agreed to the $day subscription and they charged me $after days for the whole monthI was not given the option to extend it for days for less amount or notified they would be charging the $I asked for a refund and they declinedAs a college student looking for a room, I cannot afford $extra charge on top of the $initial chargeThank you

I was genuinely looking for a roommateI had to move quickly so I only subscribed for one week because I couldn't see any messages unless I subscribedI noticed the messages all said they were out of town but would send the keys when I paidThat was a huge RED FLAG! The said "scam"! So, I said no thanksThen I noticed they debited my card for $without my authorizationThen they say when you sign up they charge you if you don't unsubscribeThat is fine print I didn't seeI am going to file a complaint with the California Dept of Consumer AffairsI encourage everyone to do the sameAt some point one of our state's will fife a suit against them so they won't able to scam anyone elseI need all of my money, as my situation is tightEven if the case were different, it's the principle of the thingIt is fraudulentI sent several messages, called and send an email but no one responded

I signed up for a day trial with RoomsterI cancelled my subscription on /**/@ 1a.mbefore the deadlineRoomster charged me $the next dayI contacted them about the issue and they have been given me excuse after excuseThey are ripping people off and it needs to stop

9/** if you respond to a room posting on Craigslist, it's a bot telling you to sign up at Roomster and pay for an account to do business thereIt's deceptive advertising with absolutely no disclosure ahead of time

I am a victim of foreign cybercrime/fraud and potential identity theftI was searching for a room for rent in the Bay Area, particularly in the South Bay and Peninsula areasDuring my search I found what I thought was a lovely room for rent in San Jose, CA (U.S.A.)I found the original ad to this room rental agreement through the website, ***, which is supposed to be the safer way to rent rooms and find roommatesThe website acts as a social networking site surrounding finding rooms, roommates, tenants, and entire apartments/housing for rent by connecting to *** So this website is supposed to verify users and it charges a fee to be a memberThis Roomster website and company, unfortunately does not live up to its high standards as a safer and better way for finding housing and roommatesRoomster is knowingly or unknowingly supporting local, national, and international criminal and fraudulent networks who want to scam housing and roommate searchers out of their money

On *** I purchased the day trial on *** for $and it was not advertised that after the days, I would automatically be charged $ I was emailed a receipt on *** for my purchase of $but was never emailed a receipt for the $I cancelled my subscription on *** and only learned of the automatic charge of $upon reviewing my credit card history The company is preying on people by advertising $for days and not advertising the automatic charge of $ I reached out to their customer service and never received a refund

I tried to cancel my reoccurring membership with Roomster following Google Play instructions but the instructions were bogusI tried to do it on the APP following instructions but the buttons that they said were there were NOT there to cancelI had to call my Bank and cancel my debit card to stop them from charging me again
The buttons Google claims are there are not there I spent hours looking for them and it went nowhere every time so I felt I was being scammed
