So initially I purchased the five day trial from roomster that was and was never really told or shown that the trial would continue if I didn't cancel it after the initial one.Well this morning I checked my bank account and found that they had charged me an extra dollars that I was completely unaware of,because again I thought I was only being charged for a five day trial.I don't even recall agreeing to continue the membershipSo I contacted them and they were very rude and essentially told me the information was there which I don't recall even seeing until this morning when they sent me the information via email after the fact. And then I told them I was going to dispute them on PayPal and received a message saying they would report me to the Revdex.com and credit collection agency, and they also proceeded to delete my account after that.Apparently this has been happening to a lot of people who have used roomster in the past or even nowThe billing information is extremely convolu
When signing up for and authorizing the 5-day trial payment, the process involved a screen that stated that I would be notified before the subscription renewedThe charge posted to my banking account on 10/**/at around 7pmAt 8:30pm, I sent several messages to their support team and have only received a generic response that I authorized the transactionWhich I did notI only authorized the original transaction due to the fact that I was to receive the reminderWhen looking at the documents they have (which, of course, include nothing about a notification) it states that I had until today to cancel the subscriptionWhy can I not get a refund of the $when I cancelled within an hour and half of the charge? Also, this site is a scamI have received numerous emails stating that I have gotten messages (which is why I signed up for the trial in the first place) but have not received any messages other than an obviously fake oneI want my money back!
I signed up for a limited free trial and was billed, can't reach a CSR to resolve, hyperlink keeps looping back to the same phone number that leads no where
I agreed to pay $for a day trial, but was charged $I did not agree to this nor gave my permission for them to charge me for that amount which they are claiming is the full membership feeI don't understand how they can charge me when I never read anything that stated they would charge me for the full membershipThey never said I had to take any further action after the day trial was completedI tried calling them, phone line does not workI've emailed, went to social mediaThey have yet to refund me the full $(since they charged me separately for the $that I agreed to)
I was not made aware that I would be billed an outrageouse monthly subscirption fee when I signed up for the "Three Day Trial"Then when I tried to cancel after three days they billed by credit cardThey sent me an email stating that I would receive a FULL no questions refund of my charge to my credit cardBut nothing has ever happenALL the links to contact them on their website are DEAD links and do not workNo way to contact them after you unsubscribe from their serviceAND DECEIVING ADVERTISING They are a bunch of crooks
Began a 5-day trial subscription on 12/*/
When I went into my account, the account stated that my trial goes until 12/**/18, after which point I would be charged more moneyNo problem with that, was all set and ready to cancel before 12/**
I was charged at 3pm on 12/**/
Sadly I did not take a screenshot of the account stating 12/** so I have no proof (the dates have since changed because of my new, unwanted, subscription)
They took $out of my account without my permissionI paid for a 3-day trial only and they charged me $instead of the $for the 3-day trialThen days later they took an additional $out of my account without my permission
When I contacted them several times by email, they have refused to return my stolen money
I have asked them for a contact number but they have refused to provide this information
I was automatically charged for a full month of service, and then charged for a second month even after I deactivated the accountI attempted to reach out to the company at the phone number provided but reached an automated message saying that I had to call a different number for billing (they did not give me a number to call nor could I find the number online)
I signed up for the 3-day $subscriptionI have now been charged $I did not want an entire monthI only wanted the daysI never authorized a payment of $On my account there are receipts for $but not $I tried to contact their 24/customer service multiple times but have yet to get a responseI want a full refund! They are also spamming people! I posted an ad on craigslist and am continuously getting texts from roomster saying people have messaged me just to bring me to their site
9/** if you respond to a room posting on Craigslist, it's a bot telling you to sign up at Roomster and pay for an account to do business thereIt's deceptive advertising with absolutely no disclosure ahead of time
I was charged for a membership that I did not authorize I purchased a basic membership for $on January *, On January **, 2017, my *** account withdrew $for a three month cycle of membership I contacted Roomster immediately to confirm that I had not purchased that additional membership and requested that they reverse the charge and then cancel that membership Instead, they deactivated my account, not allow me access to communicate with them and did not return the $ I then contacted *** to ask for help and they were unable to reimburse to charge but confirmed that Roomster would not be able to charge me again There is not a costumer service phone number for Roomster to connect to When I called it, I was given the message to login into the website (which I am unable to do when I type in my email) I infer that I wouldn't be able to open an account from this point on Today, I emailed their costumer service from my personal email, explaining this
The site is using deceptive tacticsYou can not read messages sent to your accountRoomster will send you an auto message and then prompt you with a notice of receiving a message (not saying who the message is from and which you can't see unless you buy a paid membership--a tactic used by shady dating sites)Roomster is further appearing to be posting fake ads on other platforms, *** among others, and when you respond to those ads you receive a message directing you to set up an account on RoomsterFeatures of this site are pretty much limited to paid memberships, though you can create a profile, which gives the appearance that the site is full of active people and postingsProblem is that visitors creating free accounts find out about the limitations and presumably will not bother with the site further...leaving behind inactive profiles and postsI have seen these tricks on sites with bad reputations for deceptive practices, Maybe the site works for some people, but it is highly suspiciousI am additionally see a ton of negative reviews across many sites
I'm trying to use *** which directs me to *** which signs me on with *** and then says my account is deleted This is garbage and has no reason! You can't reach ***, ***, or *** by phone and they don't answer complaints Shouldn't some authority be checking this out? Why does *** ruin their reputation by letting *** use them? What do we have Consumer Protection and Attorneys General for?
This service is terribleI signed up for the smallest/shortest subscription for hours to try it outThen, because I didn't cancel my short subscription, they auto enrolled me in a monthly subscriptionI canceled the service and reached out to their customer support team to try and get my money back for the auto renew portion, but they were incredibly rude and kept pushing back and refusing to appease the situationInstead of apologizing for the bait and switch tactic that they use, the support team kept telling me charges were authorizedI would not recommend this service to anyone
This corporation started charging me $a week ever since I stopped using itNow I cannot cancel my subscription through *** *** because it's an automatic renewal service
Searching through *** I came across many different postings looking for a roommateDuring email communication I was repeatedly sent masked links (links that masked the real website) these links redirected me over and over again to Roomster which kept prompting me to sign up for a subscription in order to continue inquiring about these rooms I was interested inThis kept happening over and over again with different listings and I eventually paid for the subscriptionNow I realize it was a total scam and that these people and these listings don’t really existI am currently trying to ban all further transactions from this company, if they choose to behave in this way I am absolutely sure they will also give me the run around with canceling my "subscription"I’m not even going to try and deal with them, I will be dealing with my credit cards fraud department and the police if necessary
I have been diagnosed with stomach and colon cancer and befoe that was in a very abusive relationshipI was referred to Roomster.com as a great place to find a roommate or roomWell I put all my *** stuff n with a FULL visible profile and five mins later they say as I'm logging in they deleted my profiledidn't allow me to pay for access or anythingSaid spam or burner accountThis business is a SCAM just to get that for three days and etc smhhorrible business they need to be taken down!!
Roomster falsely advertises their productThey claim to be a roommate/housing connection serviceTo gain access to their "product" (i.emessages from potential roommates), you must purchase a subscription to their serviceI was initially notified that I had three messages from potential roommates, after joining the site and emailing three housing adsAfter purchasing a subscription, it became apparent that the other "users" of the website were spam
For one, the users I were contacted by all stated they were looking for roommates in the state of "California," provided no details on the city of residence, and had images off of google, rather than the city I was specifically searching forThey were clearly spam accounts
Most significantly, I initially found Roomster through several *** ads, where a potential housing ad or roommate would contact me, telling me that they had housing that fit my needs (as I had a *** ad up), but that for further correspondence, we
I was charged for two months of services that I did not useWhen I explained myself to customer service they did not want to refund me my moneyI explained to them that I did not receive any emails with reciepts and that I was not active on their site for those two monthsThey gave me a runaround and said that I agreed to the services when I signed upIf I didn't use your services I should be chargedThe service they provide is great but I should be charged for something I didn't use
Greetings
