When the technician arrived for service, he needed to order about a half dozen parts and he asked if the following Wednesday at the same time would be good to schedule to return to install the parts, whcih I replied that would be fine.  Lo and behold I take off from work the following Wednesday and wait all day and no one arrives or callls.  I call GE only to find out that we were on the schedule for the next day (Thursday) for only the repair of the microwave and not for the refrigerator because it had a part on back order and we were scheduled for February 12th for the refrigerator repair and then the representative said, "Wait, there is another part on back order and it will not be in until March 13th."  The only thing that had been SCHEDULED to date was that Wednesday that I took off from work yet again and waited at the house for nothing.  There was never ANY mention of ANY other dates.  I don't know who they are talking to but they are not talking to us!  Their products, attitude, and customer service has been deplorable.  I will never buy anything GE again and will pass this on to anyone I speak with, which is a shame since I used to be a fan of GE.

[redacted] from GE called me. When I asked her about the circuit board with a "rework 7/16/2012" sticker (also the date of production according to the serial number) she said "GE does this all the time." I asked her if my dishwasher could have other reworked parts in it, she said "if I had to guess I would say yes." This means GE is selling reworked dishwashers to dealers without letting them know they have been reworked so they can provide this information to their customers.  I still don't have an answer as to what was added, taken away, or bypassed on the printed circuit board. GE customer relations told me GE would never do a rework, blamed [redacted] and told me to take it up with them so [redacted] the case manager closed my case and would not return my call. Finally knowing what I do now of GE's business practice I can't be confident that a new replacement would not be a factory rework. In a meeting with [redacted]'s manager he said he would not knowingly purchase a factory rework. Ms. [redacted] did clear [redacted] of this dirty deed and I feel GE needs to be further investigated regarding this business practice. Consumers need to know.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this consumer’s situation. I spoke with Ms. [redacted] regarding the service repair on her GE range. GE has advised her that the unit is over two years old and out of warranty. GE has also advised her that she used a non-authorized servicer for the repair. However, as a one-time gesture of goodwill GE agreed to reimburse her for half of the service repair for a total of $90.

We are reversing the service charges from this November.  The consumer has not responded to my voice mail.

We have completed repair for this consumer.

Yes, I agreed to pay a fair amount which was acceptable to GE as well as myself. I appreciate GE's quick response on the issue. Thank you Revdex.com for providing the platform.

[redacted]    We rejected the offer of the refrigerator being replaced and GE paying a small portion of our attorney fees. This refrigerator was less than 6 months old. We even purchased an extended warranty. [redacted] came out 3 times and made assumptions and ordered parts and couldn't fix it. GEs own tech came out and said it was most likely open end loose connection or short... We do not trust this refrigerator to not quit again resulting in loosing food or shorting out and causing a fire. We never were made an offer that was good for 2 weeks. We want the refrigerator replaced and our fees back. GE certainly doesn't stand by their products. I would never buy GE again or recommend to any one else. I find it hard to believe that they would want this in their own house with something that could possibly short out and cause a fire. Seems odd that we couldn't get a response from GE till we retained an attorney. All could have been avoided. And how do they know that it is working perfectly? We haven't heard from them since the ridiculous offer. Like I said before. If this had been a simple fix we would have done that. But it was never determined what the problem was. It just came back on by itself.Totally unacceptable........

resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
It seems they fixed the electrical problem, but they broke other components in the process. I have already ordered replacement parts as it will be much faster if I install them myself. I'm still not satisfied with their "service" but it appears that is the best they can do so that is where we will have to leave it. I will not be accepting their response though because they cause as many problems as they solve and leave me with more expenses.
