I have spoken with Mrs. [redacted] and apologized for the trouble she's having with her GE washer.
I informed Mrs. [redacted] of how our service charges work on out of warranty products.  I told her that Consumer Relations has...

already provided a 25% discount on any parts or labor needed for the repair but explained that she would still be charged a home call fee in the amount of $89 or $99.  I agreed to waive that home call fee as an additional gesture of good will.  I also asked that she call me when the technician arrives to hear what the diagnosis is for repair and how much she would be charged for this out of warranty call.  I will determine at that time if there is anything additional I can do to assist with this out of warranty repair.
She was satisfied with this resolution to her complaint.

 GE knows full well that this part is and has been recalled, my appliance as shown on the "control board", was installed and tested in March of 2006, which falls into the recall per GE.  Even though my appliance was completely put together later in the year, I think GE said it was Oct of 2006, it should stand to reason that the "control board" installed in March of 2006, should suffice to be included in the recall that GE is fully aware of.
It is a total shame that GE would treat their customers like this. GE you know well and good that this part is defective, (it is caused by cheap Chinese made capacitors used on the "control board".) Ge should stand behind their products especially if there is a known recall. 
GE, feels that their products are cheap and will not last for over a few years. That in of itself should make consumers aware that GE doesn't expect their over priced, cheap, not reliable, will not last very long lasting appliances, to take your hard earned money and leave the consumer out in the cold. 
I will not spend one penny towards any part that I know has been recalled.
GE YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!
Maybe it won't bother GE much for loosing my business, but I will tell everybody I can over the internet how lousy and cheap GE really is. Lets see how well my comments are over at AMAZON, where I bought a new "control board", for less than your 50 dollar plus shipping, deal.

and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Thanks for the fan replacement but the fan is being changed every one-two years, so logically that should not be the root cause of the problem. And when the problem reoccurs, all our food would ruin again and we will not be able to use our refrigerator until the repair.  We are requesting a permanent solution.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this consumer's situation. I spoke with Dr. [redacted] yesterday who confirmed that the fridge was actually cooling and temperatures seemed to be fine.  He did mention a new issue though that he still needed addressed.  He said that the lights blink on...

and off in the fresh food section.   He requested a Saturday service if possible.  He also stated that he was promised a pick up of a box of used appliance parts.  I agreed to help him by calling dispatch and got the service call moved to Saturday, 10/3.  I also issued an RMA for the parts to be picked up (which were picked up yesterday afternoon.) When I called him today to follow up, he asked for first call of the day on Saturday.  I agreed to put in the request but could not promise a first call.  The appointment time will be between 8am - noon.  I will follow up with him after the repair.  I also told him that this return visit will be at no charge to him.  He accepted this as a satisfactory resolution to his complaint.
