Dear Ms [redacted] , As described in our first response, a "two-step transaction process is used by Costco, as well as other major gasoline retailers, for gasoline transactions that are settled using a PIN based debit card In the first step, when the cardholder initially swipes their debit card and enters a PIN number, Costco will seek a pre-authorization from the card issuing financial institution in the amount of $ This portion of the transaction validates the authenticity of the cardholder and the bank account, and permits the member to pump up to $worth of gasoline The second part of the transaction takes place when the member has finished pumping gasoline At that time a second transaction, the pre-auth complete transaction, is sent to the bank indicating the actual purchase amount The financial institution is to then reverse the initial authorization transaction ($100.00) and post the actual sale amount This process should take place within minutes, but in no event should be longer than a few hours." We have reached out to Visa (who's debit network, Interlink, processed your transaction) to validate that Costco sent the pre-auth complete transaction immediately after you finished pumping gasVisa confirmed that the pre-authorization for $was sent to your credit union on 11/4/at 11:21am, and the pre-auth complete transaction was sent to your credit union on 11/4/at 11:24am, a difference of three minutesSince you stated that the hold remained on the card for multiple hours, it seems your credit union did not reverse the pre-authorization hold immediately upon receiving the pre-auth complete transaction Visa has contacted your credit union to verify they are compliant with Interlink's rules and regulations for PIN based debit card transactions Very truly yours, COSTCO WHOLESALE CORPORATION

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Terms and conditions are not disclosed when order was placed, a error did not occur when my order was placed, Costco canceled my order hours after my order was placed and I received a confirmation email with pricing which was reflected on the Costco website I know of no other business that would not honor a price for a product that was advertised on their website Once my purchase was made that contract should be completed This is Costco's issue that caused this problem, and Costco should own up to their issue and take care of the problem in a more appropriate way I am not asking for anything other than what I paid for, own up to your end of the purchase Sincerely, [redacted]

After speaking with Mr [redacted] , here is further information regarding the complaint/concern: Generic Lipitor, Atorvastatin, is available from multiple manufacturersWSt Charles provided pricing on Greenstone which is not a preferred generic and cost $20+ moreEach warehouse orders their own inventory, so each warehouse can carry different manufacturers As previously stated our Costco CMPP (member prescription program) is available to Costco members when a medication is not covered by their insurance and during the period of your deductible or gap in coverageWe'll address this with the pharmacies and also re-educate others going forwardDuring the deductible period and/or donut-hole time-frame, we would not bill the primary insurance and only submit to CMPP Each warehouse runs on their own server and has the ability to communicate to the our central server, which means each warehouse you fill a prescription at would most likely need to be updatedOur online pharmacy services is for our online Pharmacy only, not each warehouseAlso, pricing for medications filled at Costco Online Pharmacy is available online (see link below), but prices are subject to change based upon the specific warehouses inventory https://www.costco.com/pharmacy/drug-results-details-price?storeId=10301&catalog...

Called and spoke with Mr [redacted] on the phone (07/21/16), sent him an email providing Costco contact information to call once member receives his Costco Anywhere Visa credit card Costco will assist by refunding his online purchases and charging the correct credit card (Costco Anywhere Visa Card)This will allow Mr [redacted] to receive the reward opportunities from Costco and Citi Mr [redacted] was appreciative of Costco assisting with his concerns

Citi has removed Late/Finance charges for the Auto billing of Mr [redacted] 's Costco membership renewal Costco is processing a credit back to the Citi Visa in the amount of: $ Contacted Mr [redacted] and informed him of completion on (09/14/16)
