The client was given a good faith estimate based on the information they provided however the information was inaccurate and the client had a lot more items to move then described at firstWe gave the client a new quote and they declined service and forfeited the deposit as per the contract which states deposits are nonrefundable

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: What is accurate on the business part: it is an estimate and they came to the location.What is not accurate: telling the customer that the estimate of cubic feet will now be and the overage will cost an extra $(or $per cubic ft without even loading a single box or item in the truckI had to use [redacted] and a moving crew to move which cost me additional money due to the last minuteAfter loading everything into the truck the total cubic foot came up to Which should have cost me an extra $which at that point I would have agreed to payI can also show a copy of my receipt for the Upack trailer confirming the space used.I have used different moving company in the past years due to my job making me relocate constantly and here is what all company have done and what a good moving company should have done- They should have started loading the goods, show the customer after the cubic feet contracted- Ask the client if they would like to load the additional goods by telling them how much extra would it cost- Client should then make the decision, if they would like to load the additional goods or not We were only told to make the decision and agreeing on the extra cost at that moment before having them loading the truckDriver told us that if we were not agreeing right away, they would not load anything and leaveI told the driver that I would pay up to an extra $but not $as I knew that we had a little more than the quote, we didn't have double the load.Driver, also asked me if I was from Europe, which I told him I was and mentioned that it was the was it was done Here in the US, which me and my wife found extremely discriminatoryDriver also mentioned to me that if they don't want to use us they don't have to and we can get our deposit back, which is also the reason why we didn't move forwardWhen calling the main office, I spoke to a manager who didn't let me talk or even listen to what I had to sayShe started the conversation with I know what happened, you are wrong, my driver knows what he is doing, your deposit is not refundable, goodbyePutting honest people, who are already stressed on moving and relocating to another state, on making a decision at that exact same minute requesting almost double the money quoted is unacceptable and a scamI am sure it did happened to other honest people who had to make the decision and pay the additional moneyThey only thing I ask is my deposit back and I will even negotiate up to $out of the $to pay for the labor and fuel Sincerely, [redacted]

I hired these men after finding them online and checking out their credentials and they passed the test by giving a fair price and then performing the move as planned with no headaches or mishapsThanks Louis and the gang for making the relocation seamless and thanks Danny for throwing in the free wardrobe boxes and for doing such a stellar job packing my tV it made it safe and sound across six states awesome work

Dear Melody, you booked your job and signed a binding moving estimate that clearly stating our cancelation policy, any cancelation should take place within days of making the reservation, you paid the deposit on 11/20/and called to cancel on 11/30/that's already beyond your option to cancel, I'm sorry for the inconvenience and you can keep the credit of the deposit for a future moveBest RegardsSean O

I moved from Chicago to Los Angeles CA and I don't recommend this company for long distance moveThe sales agent initial quote for moving a one bedroom unit was $2,and after everything got picked up and delivered...my final moving expense ended up to be at $3,This company charge you on everything and the agent provides information especially when I asked how long it will take for my things to get to LAHe said 8-daysWell it ended up to be days! Moving is already a huge undertaking and a reliable and honest movers would have been niceUnfortunately that wasn't the case for meI hope this review will serve its purpose for those other people looking for a reliable moving company

When conducting long distance moves there can be delays and that is why we allow ourselves a 48 hour window to service the client and this is explained on the contract signed by the client. So we did attempt to service the client within the agreed time frame and the client is the one who became... hostile with us . There is no refund due since we did try to fulfill our obligation and the client declined service.

Base on the experiences I had in the past, I realized that sometimes things can go wrong while making a moveSome stufs can get damage, get ruined and others things can go awryBut, my last move with East Coast Moving taught me different lesson as nothing was damaged or ruined in my move with themFor that reason, I am really grateful for the wonderful and peaceful services rendered to by the professional movers I hired this timeThank you for your peaceful and professional service

It was hot, there was no AC and the stairs must have been brutal but the crew and office staff at East Coast were helpful every step of the way and they made me feel like my belongings were in good handsDelivery was seamless cause they marked all the boxes and I had zero damagesGreat job

Horrible businessWe requested delivery days after pick up and the sales rep said "that would be no problem"Then I asked about the 14-day delivery window clause that appears on the contract and the rep said not to worry and that was just a formalityIt has now been over a week since pick up and our furniture still hasn't arrivedWhen I called customer service, they said "oh, we haven't loaded your boxes/furniture into a truck yet and it hasn't left for delivery yetWe have days by law to deliver"When I asked for an estimated delivery date, they said they don't know when a truck will become availableThis is ridiculous - do they expect people to live without their belongings for weeks since pidate? And they are now claiming I could have paid another 700$ for guaranteed delivery on top of 3000$ we already got charged, however no one ever disclosed this when we booked the moveDishonest company with poor customer serviceAvoid this company at all cost if you can!

We disclose on our contract which are signed by the client that the delivery may take up to business days which we did do and the client was given updates regarding his deliveryWe did complete the service as contracted and ask that the complaint be closedThank you

I am rejecting this response because:The statement made by the shipping company is false The additional items were not correctly calculated The estimate that was conducted on the day of pickup is subjective The crew lead flat out stated that he adds 30% to the original quote to account for packaging and other items My quote was 32% higher The visual estimate that was provided on group of my belongings was quoted at different cubic footage amountsAny attempt to even measure a box to compare cubic footage amounts to the estimate was met with a response from the crew lead that he was going to pull his team and leave. It is misleading to state that I signed the contract The pickup crew arrived almost hours late The option I was given was either sign and deal with the management or to have the crew leave This was also the option I was provided each time I question the estimate the crew lead provided, and also the option I was given when I requested that we contact the office to clarify several items The pickup was scheduled the day prior to leaving the state and my lease was also ending the next day To say that I signed is accurate, but it is also accurate to state that given the circumstance the signature was placed under duressMy option was to accept a 32% increase in my quote, or extend my lease at my residence another month and delay moving to another state until a new moving company could be found.In regards to the additional fees, the shuttle for delivery was quoted as being included in the quote and that my final bill was in fact a final bill This amount was even sent in writing by the shipping company The day of delivery I was told by the driver that there was an additional $charge for the shuttle I contacted the management team and explained that it was included and they flat out stated regardless of what I was told on the phone, it was an additional fee If I wanted my belongings I would need to pay the additional fee or I would be subject to rescheduling of delivery (mind you it's been weeks trying to get my stuff) I requested that they review the recorded conversation as the Manager made a point of noting that all calls were recorded To this date I have to receive any response on what was discussed in those calls I can say, with 100% certainty, those calls were not reviewed as I have records of the calls made to the moving company and there were over calls made with hours of conversation between myself and both customer care and dispatch.So to summarize,1) the quote is subjective and from the words of a representative of this company , they add 30% to the quote as standard practice which is not noted in the contract2) due to several factors the contract was signed under duress3) information provided in conversation regarding additional fees has not been fully researched or will be disavowed by the company as clearly states that delivery is included in the final payment and shuttle was not additional
