We have mailed a current credit report directly to the consumer for review. If the consumer has additional inforrnation regarding disputed information, please provide it. Please specify the item or account name and number along with the consurners specific disputes and the additional information. Please provide typir complete identification inforrnatjon (Social Security number, full narne, current address, previous addresses in tre last two years and date of birth). Also, please include one copy of a governrnent issued i&ntification card, such as a drivers license, state ID card,etc., and one copy of a utility bill, bank or insurance statement, etc.When a consumer disputes the accuracy or completeness of inforrnation on the personal credit report and tells us specifically why they believe the inforrnation is inaccurate or incomplete, we process thedispute as required by law. In each instance our vender verified the accuracy of the bankruptcy along with the Consumer's full name, address and last four digits of his Social Security number at the US Bankruptcy Court in [redacted]Judgments, Tax Liens and Bankruptcies are a matter of public record. Although the Court where the disputed public records are filed may not report this type of data, a vendor may Collect this data directly from the Court's public records and supply that information to Experian.If a bankruptcy was dismissed or withdrawn, it appears on the personal Credit report because every action that relates to credit may become part of the credit history. So even though the court did not allow the Completion of the bankruptcy, the fact that the case was documented allows it to appear on the personal Credit report.When a consumer disputes the accuracy or completeness of information on their personal credit report and tell us specifically why they believe the information is inaccurate or incomplete, we process the dispute as required by law. The disputed information was verified as accurately reported and confirmation was mailed to the consumer for review.If the consumer disagrees with the results of the reinvestigation, it is the consumer's legal right, under the FCRA, to add a 100-word statement specifying the nature of their dispute. The statement will appear with the item as long as the item remains on the credit report. Any further concerns regarding the disputed information may need to be directed to the creditors reporting this information. Please refer to the original personal credit report for the furnisher or public records office name, address, and phone number (if available). Upon completion of this process, we will provide the results of our investigation directly to the consumer.Regarding our investigation process, Experian contacts the source of the disputed information directly by letter, telephone, or through an automated verification system. We ask the source to check their records to verify all of the information regarding the item questioned, and report back to us within 30 days of the date that we received the consumer's request. Once we receive their response, we send the consumer the results of the investigation. If we do not receive a response within 30 days we update the item as requested or delete the information, and send the consumer these results.According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), a consumer reporting agency's role in the dispute process is to investigate the information to determine the accuracy and completeness of any disputed item by contacting the source of the disputed information and informing them of all relevant information regarding the consumer's dispute. If the issue is not resolved, then the consumer reporting agency must offer to include a consumer statement on the personal credit report. The FCRA does not require that the consumer reporting agency obtain documentation such as the actual signed sales slips, signature cards, contracts, etc., nor does it require that consumer reporting agencies act as mediators or negotiators in account disputes.
