THE WORSTI ABSOLUTELY REGRET EVER SPEAKING TO QUICKEN LOANS
$gone, increased home insurance bill, credit score hit with hard inquiries instead of one until
I clicked on an add on Facebook that offered to give me a lower rate online, next thing I know I had somebody on the phone saying my situation looked great and I could have a fairy tale mortgage with them, rushing me to start refinancing as they would take $off closing costs if I decided to move forward
Next day I have this guy harassing me with emails and calls to send my paperwork in, I had given him the information I had, including the value of my home, which I got from an appraisal I had done years before (and I mentioned that), He asked me then for my credit card number to charge the $off he mentioned before as a deposit, why is that? he said, its just to make sure that you have the intention to proceed, that way QL don't have people coming to get free appraisals, but this will be refunded at closingI asked again, will I get this back? Am I going to get the loan? I don't want you getting my hopes up and then come back later to say It won't happen, his answer was "everything looks great, listen, I have closed many loans in Louisiana and the only way Quicken Loans makes money is by closing" and because of his deceptive speech I signed his papers
They then asked me to call my insurance and get more coverage so they could give me the loan, so I did, (of course my bill got higher too), they hit my credit score twice (hard inquiries) on may 7th and may 8th that won't go away until 2020, and then I got an email: Underwriting approved everything and we are officially rolling!
Right after that I got tossed around to other members at the company, I could hardly keep up rushing me to get more paperwork within hrs or for the same day and then their appraisal came in$50,lower than the appraisal I hadWhen I disagreed with the appraisal the daily calls stop and now it was me calling them to get the appraisal checked, corrected or get a second opinion, since I was being compared to houses and of them weren't even in the same area (they were on the other side of the train tracks), I was told then that they would not question the appraiser and it was on me to prove them wrong by sending them other comparables, I'm not a realtor and I don't even know where to get that information from, so they said, well we are sorry we cannot give you the loan, but what about refinancing and getting the same kind of loan you already have with a 4.75% interest rate (when my actual rate is lower at 3.5%) really????
I asked for my deposit back but their records indicated that they had actually spent more than $dollars on my account and that Quicken Loans had come with a loss on this one !!!!!!! Quicken Loans?????
At the end they would not even give me a call back, only way to contact them was through the chat windowOh! and the cherry on top, after all of this I get a letter from the bank I have my mortgage with"you requested your payoff statement", this loan is due june 01, Total amount due $179,and I'm freaking out, right? So there I go again having to talk to QL to check if they screwed me over even farther

He checked our facebook page and saw that we were marketing our primary property as a "flip"I explained to him that it was a marketing strategy, and if he noticed, the post did not have our address because we don't want the public to know where we liveIt was to hype our buyers into contacting our agent so that we can have more buyersI guess it's hard to understand an investor's strategy if one has not encountered investors who are homeownersIt did not occur to this person that if I wasn't being honest, I could have just not told him that I was a real estate investor and could have hidden all related information to himBut I did not because we are people of integrity and we are honestI guess this person has had a lot of experience with fraudulent people and concluded that we are the same without giving us a chance to prove ourselves
I was deeply offended by Quicken Loan's premature accusations, it shows a lack of professionalism and lack of ability to filter through factsHe made me submit all our personal information online only to call me back a few days later and accuse us of informationBe careful when applying a loan with this company as they may question and investigate you too and come up with stupid conclusions and accusationsThey can rob you of the opportunity to take advantage of loans that you may be eligible forThere are other lenders out there who are more understanding and are not judgmentalDo your research
Overall we had a good experience The only negative was the person performing the appraisal It was obvious she was inexperienced and then found out she was in trainingI voiced our disappointment but of course was told her performance was accurateEven though we knew it was not we accepted the findings so we could move on Other than that it went very smoothly Was a rather slow process compared to the bank but we were in no particular hurry
