Overall, we were very impressed with QLThey are overall very efficient and timelyWe hit a little snag toward the end of our refinance process and they kept asking for paperwork that we didn't have (they kept asking for verification that we hadn't taken out a home equity line of credit)We had never taken out a HELOC, so we had nothing to prove that to them since we had never done itIt was a huge, long, frustrating process to get this sorted outI ended up getting very frustrated because they wouldn't accept the verification I was sending themI expressed my concerns and QL very promptly called me and talked to me and walked me through the rest of the processThey were very supportiveThe refinance went through shortly after that with no other snags

We appliedWe were pre-approvedWe were treated wellWe paid $to Quicken Loans and we received a degree turn-around in how we were communicated to and treatedWe were beat up, my wife finally in tearsWe provided MORE than what was requested by QuickenI refuse to pay $to be turned, beaten up, dis-respected and hurt my wife deeplyI REFUSE to allow them to profit from people in this wayI was informed when I paid this $that it was just a commitment deposit and would be returned to us at closingQuicken beat us up so horribly, they forced me to cease with themMy family was suffering because of themNEVER AGAIN

They practice complete bait and switch techniques After giving me a quote for a home loan I was asked to give a $deposit, which I didShortly after my loan estimate jumped $,which I struggled with but agreed to procedeA few weeks later the appraisal on the property came back $8,lower than the purchase price ,and I was told I would need to cover this costI did not have $18,more than I was originally quoted, so I had to back out of the loan and my dream homeI asked Quicken when my deposit would be refunded and was told it went to the cost of the appraisalI explained that I was never told that the deposit was for an appraisal , that the deposit was to ensure I wouldn't shop around with another lender at this pointThey apologized that I was told this but they have a document I signed (in the mountain of documents I signed for this loan) saying the deposit was for an appraisal Stick with a local lender or a bank, quicken loans doesn't care about their customers,they only care about $$

I applied for a USDA Rural Development Loan from Quicken Loans directly, I and my wife did everything we could to provide any and all documentation to backup our application and once it got to underwriting, it seemed like no one cared and without a detailed explanation or ability to correct what was wrong was told our USloan application was denied and then was bluntly told no other bank would approve us for a USDA RD mortgage, but was told however we would qualify for a standard conventional year term mortgage at a higher rate with payments in the excess of one thousand dollars per monthWe immediately re-applied for the same USloan at a local bank where that banker worked with us and was very flexible, even after it went to underwriting for pre-approval she worked with underwriting and us asking for additional information or more up to date supporting documents and without error was pre-approved at similar amount we were asking at Quicken LoansThis whole experience has put a bad taste in our mouth for ever wishing to use Quicken Loans for any type of loan in the future
