The one that's responsible for taking most of the weight off the door itself, so the motor doesn't have to work very hardActually, there's two springsHe recommended changing both of themNot as an up sell...and certainly with no sales pressureAs a retired aircraft mechanic, I'm the first to realize that when components operate as a pair...when one of them goes south, you ALWAYS change them as a pairAnyway, without a lot of fuss he replaced the springs, wound them tight and secured them properly(Not easy...and can be dangerous!) He then serviced all the rollers and other moving parts that required a "tune up"The door works remarkably well now...way smoother and quieter than before!
