[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Assumed Answered] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The W-information for myself was clearly entered using my name and social security numberMy spouse's W-informationwas clearly entered using her name and her social security numberAny calculations using W-information should be based on the name and social security numberused to enter the data.The H & R Block response states " When Mr [redacted] was submitting information for his spouse’s W-2, he left his name selected and checked the box stating “Name doesn’t match W-2”, then entered the W-information for his spouse."After I entered the W-information for myself there was not an option to change to my spouse's nameThe only logical action when entering her W-informationwas to select the box stating "name doesn't match W-2", which I did.I reiterate, my W-information and my spouse's W-information was clearly entered using the appropriate names and social security numbers.For H & R Block to say that the W-information was entered incorrectly is without merit and they seem to be hiding behind a flaw in the way theycreated the design of the W-data entry.If H & R Block truly stands behind their tax preparation software they should reimburse me the extra $1,I paid the IRS due to the interminglingof my and my spouse's W-data.Regards, [redacted]

Dear Revdex.com,In response to this complaint, we regret any confusion or misunderstanding that Ms [redacted] may have as it relates to this matterHowever our records show that Ms [redacted] did not purchase H&R Block’s Peace of Mind® Extended Service Plan and therefore the Warranty does not apply in this caseH&R Block prepares millions of tax returns each year, and if we do make an error, we are committed to making the situation right It is our belief that we have done so in Ms [redacted] case by reimbursing interest and penalties that was assessed for both State and Federal tax returns.Our records reflect that Ms [redacted] has received a total of three checksTax preparation fees were paid on 1/27/Penalties and Interest assessed on the Federal return was paid on 1/27/Interest assessed on the [redacted] State return was paid on 12/12/Records show that on several different occasions we requested the original tax notice from Ms [redacted] in which she failed to provideThe claim was eventually closed until the requested documents and/or information was receivedThe alternative to not having the document was that we contact the Baltimore [redacted] Controller’s Office directly on Ms [redacted] behalf to verify the assessed amountIt was then we were able to obtain the correct amount of interest only that was due from the tax payer’s original tax notice as there had been no penalties assessed at that timePlease be advised that penalty and interest is paid from the initial date of discoveryIt is our belief that Ms [redacted] has been made whole in this case and that there is no further due diligence on our partAs such, we consider this matter resolvedWe assure you that we take the concerns of our clients seriously and make every effort to resolve matters thoroughly and fairlyWe respectfully ask the Revdex.com to close this caseHowever, if you should need anything further or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact meSincerely, [redacted] Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

Dear Revdex.com, In response to the Revdex.com complaint, our review determines that Mrs [redacted] signed up for the refund bonus this year believing she could get another Wal-Mart card just as she did last yearHowever, in order to receive a Wal-Mart gift card you must have purchased the software from Wal-MartMs [redacted] did not, which disqualifies her from getting a Wal-Mart gift cardWhen Ms [redacted] contacted our tier department she was advised by an agent that she must purchase a gift card from the available retailers, since the Wal-Mart card was not an option for her; Mrs [redacted] chose the Amazon gift card and placed the full amount of their current year refund bonus on an Amazon gift cardIn spite of H&R Block’s continuous efforts to resolve this matter with our Tango vendor, we were advised that the transaction could not be reversedUnfortunately, once a funds are allocated to a specific retailer, the funds are no longer available to reverseIf Mrs [redacted] wishes to use the funds allocated to the refund bonus then she would have to use the Amazon gift cardWe sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused however, the transaction stands as valuedWe respectfully request that this case be closed AJR, as we do not believe that any further response on our part would be beneficialSincerely, Steana [redacted] Associate Business Analyst

Dear Revdex.com, H&R Block disagrees with Mr [redacted] 's statement "H&R Block is holding up my refund and I just want them to resolve this Because I am tired on waiting on them to file my tax returns." Dear Revdex.com: Thank you for bringing Mr [redacted] ’s complaint to our attentionOur investigation reflects that Mr [redacted] 's complaint is against and independently owed and operated franchise office, which has the responsibility to resolve this matter directly with your office and directly with the client.However, in response to this complaint, records reflect that we have been working closely with Mr [redacted] since late January to both prepare his tax return and help him apply to the IRS for an Individual Tax Identification Number Mr [redacted] ’s tax return was started on January and completed on February It did take multiple visits for the return to be finished, which is not unusual Nevertheless, it was completed accurately and Mr [redacted] received a more than 50% discount on the price of the return because his return qualified for a limited, special promotion we were running at the timeIn addition to preparing the tax return, we helped Mr [redacted] apply to the IRS for an Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) In helping him complete the necessary forms we also prepared a form certifying the authenticity of the personal identification documents presented to us in connection with the application We charged an additional $for the service of authenticating the personal identification documents Unfortunately, we subsequently learned from the IRS that our permission from the IRS to authenticate personal identification documents in connection with an ITIN application had temporarily lapsed and instead clients who applied for an ITIN had to visit the nearest IRS office to have that done directly by an IRS agent We notified Mr [redacted] of this and met with him to prepare the documents again so that he could personally take them to the nearest IRS office We apologized for the inconvenience and issued him a $refund since we were not able to provide the service for which we charged that amount Once Mr [redacted] receives his ITIN from the IRS we stand prepared to continue to work with him and enter it into the original tax return to facilitate completion of the tax return preparation process We assure you that we take the concerns of our clients seriously and make every effort to resolve matters thoroughly and fairlyWe trust that this response will allow your office to close this fileHowever, should you have additional concerns or desire to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me.Sincerely, [redacted] ***Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

I am rejecting this response because:We are still waiting for the amended return that was mail to us few days ago to see what errors have been corrected and if the overwhelming charges that we are charged from IRS are eliminated in the new amended returnas for the HR Block response that they waited for me or my wife to provide documentation and that was the reason for the delay in filing our returns is not accurateI dropped off all the documentation at the HR Block office in June of 2014, I followed up with [redacted] almost each month from [redacted] and [redacted] to see if she needed anything else from us to complete the returnsPlease see the email I sent on December 5th 2014, almost six months after I dropped off all the tax information, encouraging her to expedite our tax returnsThe email will show that I was trying to get [redacted] to complete our taxes, I never received return communications from [redacted] of my reminder emails to complete the tax returns or for additional informationI ended up calling her several times, and had my wife followed up as well before she respondedThis hardly a 'peace of mind service from HandR block when its client has to constantly follow up for months to get the returns done, with errors and have to pay penalties and late feesHandR block should pay for any penalties and late fees due as well as correct errors on our tax returns and return our fees we paid themplease see the email below I sent on Dec2014: [redacted] 12/5/14Reply to allto ***, Tazeen [redacted] - Please take a look below, I was wondering if you are done with the tax returns, I can then send you the returns as wellI know the tax season is about to start you will get real busy, so if you can expediate our tax returns I would appreciate it very much [redacted] Complaint: [redacted] Regards, [redacted]
