Dear Revdex.com,In response to Ms***s rebuttal, we regret that she appears to be dissatisfied with the resolve to this matterOur records reflect that tax preparation fees have been refunded to which she agreed was an acceptable resolution during several conversations with our district officePlease also be advised that we attempted to address additional concerns relating to Ms***s tax return however she insist to address matters on her own H&R Block prepares millions of tax returns each year, and if we do make an error, we are committed to making the situation rightAdditionally, our guarantee states that if we make an error on a return, we’ll pay resulting Penalties and Interest (P&I)As it relates to this case, if P&I was accessed as a direct result of an error made by our preparation, we are committed to reviewing the tax return, amending it if necessary and reimbursing P&IShould Ms [redacted] remain interested in moving forward, we ask that she contact the district office with the notice referencing the error and assessment of P&I as soon possibleOtherwise, we must consider this matter resolvedSincerely, [redacted] Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

I am rejecting this response because: Their guarantee has no such stipulations(see below)My wife did tell their associate that the money was to pay for my sons college., she did not listenBesides they should have known to ask also, it is their jobto save you as much money as they can (know all the tax breaks)That is another item they advertiseHow they will save you more than their competitorsThis is a clear case of Advertising.I will be also contacting the [redacted] [redacted] office.I would like to get the CEO information (where I would send him court papers If I choose to go that route) I called and no one would help me retrieve this informationIalso called and left a message for [redacted] and never received a call back. From their website; If you discover an H&R Block error on your return that entitles you to a larger refund (or smaller tax liability), we'll refund the tax prep fee for that returnRefund claims must be made during the calendar year in which the return was prepared. If you find another online tax preparation method that results in a larger refund (or smaller liability) than that calculated by the H&R Block online tax program, we will refund the fees you paid us to use our online tax program to prepare that returnTo qualify, the larger refund or smaller tax liability must not be due to differences in data supplied by you, your choice not to claim a deduction or credit, or positions taken on your return that are contrary to lawI copied you showing that they wrote taxpreparer error on the form they sent to the IRSTherefore I am asking for my refund as stated by their guarantee on their website.I am not asking foranything I am not entitled to receive. Not to mention their satisfaction guaranteePlease keep my case open and help me receive my refund They advertise the guarantee and they should be compelled to honor the guarantee! Complaint: [redacted] Regards, [redacted] ***

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Assumed Answered] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:There are additional costs associated with this issueI chose the additional peace of mind to ensure my taxes were entered into the system correctly and that I would maximize my tax refundMr [redacted] indeed corrected the issue and mentioned a check was sent outHowever, additional costs associated with this matter involved time spent finding an accountant and having an accountant review previous taxesI do accept responsibility of not sending a check when Ms [redacted] reviewed my taxesIt was a blessing in disguise because had I sent a check, this error may not have been caughtI am seeking additional $to coverer expenses with an accountant as I have lost trust in H&R Block in doing the right thingI opened the case in March and it took almost a month to get a response from the other party to rectified this issueIt is quite disappointing that no one could have explained why I got this letter to begin withIt was brushed under the rug until I contacted Revdex.com in elevating this issueHad I known it would have taken over a month to respond, I should have gone the litigation route insteadI still have not received an explanation from the corporate end as to why the case I had opened via phone was never followed up onI am still seeking the $to cover cost of accountantIn addition, I did not seek wages wasted on pursuing this issue Regards, [redacted] ***

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Assumed Answered] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have attached, again, a transcript of a voicemail that [redacted] left for me on February 12, In this voicemail, she VERY CLEARLY still identifies the wrong problem, and states a course of action that was never taken, nor was it ever necessary, because SHE HAD NOT IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM!! Your response is absolutely illogical How did she ever request the document, if she never identified the issue?? If someone complained about you, after you had spent months requesting a document, wouldn't that be the first thing you would mention when you contacted them? She never mentions that document, or any other missing document in this voicemail (which I still have saved) She doesn't mention it then, nor did she ever ask for it before, because she never identified the correct problem How can you maintain the position that she requested this document many times, when in fact, she doesn't even mention it in February of 2016, and not only does she not mention it, but she clearly identifies the path she plans to take, and NEVER identifies anything I need to do or obtain for her The story that I didn't comply was developed after I mentioned the stock sale to the Escalation Team My timeline, and I'm sure your notes from the escalation Team identify the first 'versions of the story' None of which mention a missing document, but instead talk about a 401K that was reported as Pension Never did anyone ever go over the return with me, as your policy states When I received the very first notification from the IRS, I took it to ***, and at that time, she should've taken the time to go through the return, and the notice WITH ME to identify the issue Instead, she said don't worry about it, they are crazy, you don't owe this money, I will fix it I reported my stock sale in our original meeting to prepare my tax return, and provided the document I do not know why it was never included in the original return, as I did not prepare it, [redacted] did was a big year for me, I left a year marriage, and did a lot of things financially because of that, so believe me, I knew about my stock, and my 401K withdraw It is unfortunate that you would support such neglect [redacted] never went over anything with me, nor did she ever request anything from me I can't imagine why I would've had contact with her in May of She ignored my emails in April, May and June of I had contact with her in June, after I had to reach out to her via her son (a long time friend), and I was about to have my bank account levied Only after her son called her, she asked me to come in and sign POA, which was signed June 23, and still there was no mention of the document If she had been requesting this document for months, why would she agree to continue to handle it, and have me sign POA on June It doesn't make sense at all If I was noncompliant, prior to May of 2015, why did she quickly accept responsibility again in June 2015? Your version of event is absolutely illogical Regards, [redacted]

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response If you wish, you may update it before sending it.] Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and will accept the tax refund I find your comment about how I misunderstood the Peace of Mind unacceptable YOUR tax preparation specialist was the one who brought up that I should qualify for Peace of Mind, so clearly, despite boasting about her years of experience doing taxes, she does not understand her own company's Peace of Mind Policy The tax preparation specialist, [redacted] ***, assured me that not only did I qualify for the Child Care tax credit, but also that I deserved the Peace of Mind reimbursement, so it is in no way my fault or misunderstanding of the policy; it is her fault and she represents H&R BlockShe also promised to research more into this issue with the IRS, but every time I sought out an update, she told me that she was busy and did not speak with the IRS yet The only thing that she offered, which I'm sure does not coincide with H&R Block's policies, was to do my future taxes for free until it added up to the $1,tax credit amount that she thought I should've received Not only did she make the mistake of filing for a Child Care Tax credit, but a local CPA verified that she also had other mistakes on mine and my husband's taxes Now, I have to go back in to H&R Block to get a second look at these taxes next week.I am convinced that had I not filed with the Revdex.com, that I never would've received any correspondence or refund I blame this entirely on the District Manager He should be meeting with his tax specialists on what the Peace of Mind policy actually covers as well as customer service because [redacted] , the summer office manager, was beyond rude and disrespectful Please know that I will also be pursuing how she handled herself when meeting with me and my husband as wellDisgusting [redacted]

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response If you wish, you may update it before sending it.] Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is almost satisfactoryI received a refund of all but $and was told I'd receive it by the manager Regards, [redacted] ***

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I would like to keep this complaint open until I have received the credits for $and $on my credit card statements As of the statements received mid-April the credits were not on my statements I have also tried to call the phone number listed in the response but have not been able to speak to anyone today I would like to talk to someone to find out why the $cannot be refunded to me before the complaint is closed Since I am no longer an H&R Block employee I am unable to take additional courses using the $which would pay for unlimited courses if I were still employed Regards, [redacted] ***

Revdex.com: I appreciate you accepting my request to contact HR Block with my concernI have been in contact with [redacted] *with HR Block and she has elaborated on a method I can use to remove the unwanted allowances.Today was the first time I saw that featureWhat's odd is that it's at the end of the tax filing program - which makes little sense to meIt is presented as a separate page after the program has presented your final income, expenses, credits, deductions, and tax due and you hit 'next' (presumably, to begin payment and filing).Other than the peculiar point at which these options are made available, the feature did exactly what I needed it to, which was opt out of the allowances It's possible this was always there, but I feel as though I've gone through the entire program several times, and I can't imaging having missed this pageDid they just add it? PerhapsBut nonetheless, it is correct now.Regarding the math error I referenced in my complaint - I simply misunderstood the IRS tax code(Imagine that!) Let me formally apologize for accusing HR Block of making that mistake in their programIt simply was a failure on my part to grasp the Half-Year depreciation assigned to the first year. There still remains one concern from my original complaint, however it does not grossly affect my return:How can a user select a 3-, 7- or 10-year recovery rate for depreciable items? HR Block's response was simply that it's automatically calculated, but regardless of the inputs I provided, I couldn't get my preferred recovery period of years(Photography equipment is arguably or year). When I complete a return with Intuit's Turbotax software, it assigns 'Photo and Video Equipment' to a 7-year classI prefer that, as it reduces the high expense of my equipment per year, allowing me to show more profit in these initial years of businessAs, the IRS frowns upon companies that are unprofitable for in years, it is beneficial to utilize the lower expense rate of years. In all, my critical concerns have been resolvedI have a number to contact [redacted] *again (in 'Tier 3' support) if I have any additional concerns Regards, [redacted] [I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.]
