Indiegogo is an open platform which anyone can use to raise funds for any project, cause, or businessWe understand that this campaign owner is concerned about the status of their campaign's disbursement
The timing and method by
which campaign's receive funds raised depends on how the campaign receives contributionsAll contributions received through PayPal will be sent to the campaign owner's PayPal accountAll contributions a campaign receives via credit card will be sent to the campaign owner's bank account after the campaign's deadlineThis information is clearly outline in our Help Center article: http://support.indiegogo.com/entries/XXXXXXXX-disbursements-when-do-i-get-my-mon... /> That said, we have responded to this campaign owner's inquiries and are currently in contact with the campaign owner directly in order to clarify this matter, and assist them furtherWe appreciate the campaign owner's feedback and cooperation

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/09/08) */
Indiegogo provides an open crowdfunding platform permitting funds to be raised for a wide range of projects in accordance with our Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms)Campaigns are run by their individual campaign owner's and
not by IndiegogoIndiegogo does not manage campaigns, nor does Indiegogo offer perksInstead, all perks are offers made by Campaign Owners, and we recommend to any contributor who has questions about a campaign's offerings or refund request that they make inquires of the campaign owner
People can raise money for various things, and be at various stages of their projectContributors are backing an idea, not purchasing a pre-made projectLike anyone contributing to an early-stage project, you accept the risk that the project might not come to fruitionAgain, Indiegogo does not make claims or verify that a "campaign owner will deliver perks or that contributions will be used as described on the campaign." The decision to contribute to any campaign is in the sole determination of the contributor and their evaluation of the campaign, not IndiegogoWe recommend that each contributor go through their own vetting process before they decide to contributeWe have compiled a list of how to evaluate a campaign, as a good starting point: https://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/XXXXXX-How-to-Evaluate-a-Campaig... /> Regarding this customer's refund, the refund was not issued by Indiegogo and instead, any refunds are from the campaign ownerIn this instance, as the campaign owner issued this refund, if this customer is not satisfied with the amount or method of the refund they will need to resolve this dispute with the campaign owner, directlyIndiegogo is not able to mediate disputes, including those over refunds
We wish this customer the best of luck in resolving this dispute with the campaign owner, in question
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Indiegogo takes a percentage of the money
The amount of "work" they have to do is the sameIf there is no product delivered and a refund is done after months!!! why should indiegogo still keep their % instead of a minimum fee (including some profit)
More and more people are now wanting to be refundedI contacted Indiegogo in the beginning of this project about technical facts about this project which made it impossible to ever emergetheir basic answer "we will wait and see" so advance months, none of the products of this project has been delivered, obviously it is a scamThe company portrait itself to be in Texas, but all the money was transfered to *** *** (by Indiegogo!!!)
Indiegogo takes absolutely no responsibility in this (and other ) projects and should imho be held responsible for aiding and abetting scammers through crowdsourcinf projects

We understand that this customer has additional thoughts to add
As has been previously outlined, Indiegogo is an open platform and the decision to contribute to any campaign is in the sole determination of the contributor and their evaluation of the campaign, not IndiegogoWe recommend that each contributor go through their own vetting process before they decide to contributeOur Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms) outlines the following:
"Indiegogo is an online crowdfunding venue for people and entities seeking to raise funds for their own Campaigns and to contribute to the Campaigns of othersCampaign Owners can offer gifts or rewards in the form of tangible items or intangible services (collectively, "Perks") to ContributorsPerks are not offered for saleIndiegogo makes no representations about the quality, safety, morality or legality of any Campaign, Perk or Contribution or the truth or accuracy of User Content (as defined below) posted on the ServicesIndiegogo does not represent that Campaign Owners will deliver Perks or that Contributions will be used as described in the CampaignUsers use the Services at their own risk."
Finally, with regard to this customer's request for a refund, as the funds for this contribution has already been disbursed to the campaign owner, Indiegogo can no longer issue a refundOur refund policy is outlined here: https://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/XXXXXX
If this contributor is interested in pursuing a refund, they will need to work with the campaign owner, directlyWe have previously provided this contributor with the campaign owner's contact information in an effort to facilitate communication
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2015/09/25) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Indiegogo hides behind it's rules
I contacted them about the technical impossibility of this product to ever be released on the marketIt would not be compliant with the NEC (national electric code) They didn't investigate, they just waitedThey had their part of the lute
I say they are aiding and abetting for scammersThey should be the organisation to keep track of thingsIn my case I got reimbursed for the majority but not the part that Indiegogo tookI would like to be reimbursed for that part to by indiegogoI made than very clearSo referring back to the party involved is cheapYou are the enabler, you say you are not responsibleI say you are when someone points out that the project is not viable and doesn't deliver after months!

While I am disappointed in Indiegogo's stance on this I understand their business modelThere have been numerous online complaints about the particular campaign and class action law suits are being consideredIn the case of other crowdfunding sites such as kickstarter if the campaign owner cannot provide a working prototype within a reasonable time frame kickstarter cancels the campaign and refunds the money directly to the backerI find this a much more suitable model as the crowd sourcing company takes some responsibilty in protecting the consumerAs always one can vote with one's feet and choose not to use a particular crowd sourcing company in the future which is what I intend to doThank you very much

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
the website is allowing companies to collect fund for PROMISED project/products and should be accountable for frauds. by allowing just anyone to post an idea or promise of a product without any due diligence is simply irresponsible and they should be held liable, especially if the company is a foreign one where they are held accountable by different laws. this company has taken $300,from innocent victims and someone has to answer for it.Sincerely,*** ***

The terms were not specified on the web site when I made this purchase TEN MONTHS agoDelivery is now expected in MORE MONTHS
The company has absolved themselves of responsibility which is unacceptableI have asked the campaign owner five times for a refund - they have refusedIf Indiegogo is not living up to their commitment as state don their web site "nurturing a trusted open platform is our top priority." If they were, they would compel the campaign owner to refund my purchase - especially since they have raised over $650,
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/12/29) */
We appreciate this customer's reply, and understand that they have some follow up questions and concerns
To address this customer's claim that the terms are not specified, we'd like to outline that the terms and the fact that contributing to a campaign is not making a purchase is outlined during every transaction that takes place on IndiegogoDuring the transaction process and before the customer enters their payment information, the following notice is posted:
"By clicking 'Continue', you acknowledge that you understand that you are contributing to a work-in-progress and not making a direct purchasePerks are managed by the campaigners and cannot be guaranteed by IndiegogoYour click also acknowledges that you agree to the Indiegogo Terms of Use."
As previously noted, contributions are nonrefundable by IndiegogoWe cannot speak to this specific campaign owner's refund policy, but recommend that the contributor inquire of the campaign ownerHowever, Indiegogo's Terms of Use (https://www.indiegogo.com/about/terms) states that:
"Campaign Owners are legally bound to perform on any promise and/or commitment to Contributors (including delivering any Perks)If a Campaign Owner is unable to perform on any promise and/or commitment to Contributors, the Campaign Owner will work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include the issuance of a refund of Contributions by the Campaign Owner."
We understand that this campaign had experienced delays with the production of their productContributors are contributing to an early-stage project, and delays may occur throughout the development of a productThis campaign owner has been responsive and communicative surrounding the delays and the current status of their projectFor the most up-to-date information on the campaign, we recommend this contributor review the campaign's Updates tab here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/thingcharger-awesome-new-charger-for-your-thi... /> The owner of this campaign has posted many contact methods on their camping, including a contact us form on their website, here: http://www.thingcharger.com/contact-us/

I think Indiegogo should do more for contributors like meIt was not obvious to me that I might be throwing my money awayI have written Indiegogo numerous times only to be told, basically, to take a long walk off a short pier
I will say that the manufacturer has written me to say that my Healbe Gobe calorie measuring bracelets will be shipped by the end of MayIt is May 27, and I have not received a tracking number yetI think that Indiegogo finally contacted him on my behalf thanks to Revdex.com
I am willing to accept the product and not ask for a refund IF I receive the productIt is still not certain though
The issue is not resolved until I receive the product, or receive a refund

We understand that this customer has some additional points regarding the HealbeGobe campaign
Perks are offers made solely by the campaign owner, not by IndiegogoWe see that the campaign owner has been posting updates regarding their campaign and when they anticipate they will be shipping their productsWe highly recommend that this contributor review the campaign's updates tab for the most up-to-date information about this campaign, directly from the campaign owner: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/healbe-gobe-the-only-way-to-automatically-mea... /> That said, Indiegogo provides an open crowdfunding platform permitting funds to be raised for a wide range of projects in accordance with our Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms)People can raise money for various things, and be at various stages of their projectContributors are backing an idea, not purchasing a pre-made projectLike anyone contributing to an early-stage project, you accept the risk that the project might experience delays, changes to their product, or may even not come to fruitionAgain, Indiegogo does not make claims or verify that a "campaign owner will deliver perks or that contributions will be used as described on the campaign." Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/11/17) */
We understand that this customer was dissatisfied with their experience on IndiegogoWe'd like to address this customer's concerns here
1.Regarding contributors who experience issues with contributing, our records show that this
campaign has been successfully receiving contributionsAs such, in the event that any specific contributor experiences an issue with contributing, it is most helpful for us to work with them directly so assist in troubleshooting
Given the
We'd love to be able to work with individual contributors directly to find out why their contribution may not have gone throughThe reason for any individual unsuccessful contribution may be due to a wide variety of factors, including insufficient funds, international restrictions, internet connectivity, outdated browsers, incorrect login or card information, and etc, and we'd like to be able to pinpoint exactly where that error was occurring for individual contributors, so we can better help themWe do offer support materials for common contribution errors and their solutions here:http://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/XXXXXX-Common-Contribution-E... /> With regard to the campaign page end date, all campaigns end at 11:59pm PT on the date of their deadlineThat said, the issue this campaign owner is outlining is one that we were recently notified ofAfter further investigation we have determined this is an issue in a disparity between the times outlined, but not an issue with the campaign ending at a different time than intendedOur engineering team is diligently working on a resolution for this matter
As always, we invite customers who have unsatisfactory experience on Indiegogo to contact us, so that we may work with them to address their underlying issues and concerns
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/11/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Regarding Indigogo's Point #("our records show that this campaign has been successfully receiving contributions"):
I have stated more than once that the reason our campaign was successfully funded is that WE OURSELVES made the final contributions that made campaign reach its $18K goalSo IGG cannot claim that this campaign was a complete "success." As I keep saying, I ended up having to fund myself because my big-money contributor could not do so, because of technical difficulties with the IGG site in the final hours on Sunday 10/26/A few other people told me they had difficulty getting payments to go through as wellThus, I lost out on contributionsBig ones
Regarding IGG's statement that "We'd love to be able to work with individual contributors directly to find out why their contribution may not have gone through:"
That also is not a valid counterclaimAnd note how vaguely that statement is phrasedIt's conditionalIf they would indeed "love" to be able to work with individual contributors directly, then they should provide LIVE customer support, via live chat or real-time telephone accessIndiegogo does not offer thisAs stated on IGG's contact page on their website:
"We want you to contact us, but we don't provide a phone number - please send a message using this form and we'll get back to you within hours."
As I indicated in my initial correspondence with IGG, more than one potential contributor had trouble making contributions through IGG's website, and my big-money contributor made her attempt on the final day (indeed, the final hours) of the campaignSo even if she had tried to contact IGG, no one would have replied straight away, given this "within hours" guidelineMy campaign ended on a Sunday nightI doubt that any reps of IGG are even working on a Sunday night
Furthermore, Indiegogo's subsequent statement is equally nebulous:
"We'd like to be able to pinpoint exactly where that error was occurring for individual contributors, so we can better help themWe do offer support materials for common contribution errors and their solutions here:http://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/XXXXXX-Common-Contribution-E... /> Once again they are saying they'd "like to be able" to help, but that they can't, because they don't offer live supportIn all cases, my potential contributors simply gave up in frustration after several failed attempts to contribute to my campaignTheir attempts failed because of problems with IGG's site
Now, as for Indiegogo's counter claim #2:
Again, their language is deliberately vagueThey admit that an error was made with the campaign end date and timeYou'll see the admission, of sorts, in this vaguely written sentence: "the issue this campaign owner is outlining is one that we were recently notified of."
They go on to say:
"After further investigation we have determined this is an issue in a disparity between the times outlined, but not an issue with the campaign ending at a different time than intended."
Actually, it IS an issue with the campaign ending at a different time than intended, because I told a potential donor that she had until 10/27/at 12:am, because that's what it said on my campaign pageI have a screen shot of the page that proves thisWhen that potential donor tried to make her donation at 12:20am, she found that the campaign had already closedHow can IGG claim this is not an issue?
As I have previously stated, one final hour can make ALL THE DIFFERENCE in a fundraising campaign, and it was stated on my private campaign page that my campaign was supposed to end at 12:on 10/Yes, that was my private campaign page, but IGG cannot use that as an excuseThey made a mistakeI should not have to pay for it
Indiegogo has made more than one mistake with my campaignTechnical glitches prevented donors from donatingPoor (and, in the case of the weekend, nonexistent) customer services prevented problems from being resolved in a timely manner, and blatant misinformation resulted in this misinformation being passed *** to disastrous resultsAll I am asking is that I not be required to pay fees to a company that isn't providing a good service
Regarding IGG's final statement:
"As always, we invite customers who have unsatisfactory experience on Indiegogo to contact us, so that we may work with them to address their underlying issues and concerns."
I did reach out to IGG first, and was put in touch with some third grader who said basically said that the time difference between the end dates was "only an hour" and therefore not a big dealThat is NOT professional customer service in my humble opinion
I am still asking for a full refund of all fees: $
Final Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2015/01/12) */
We understand that this customer was not satisfied with our previous replyWe'd like to take a moment to address each of their concerns, in turn
We strive to provide contributors with a seamless experience during their contributionHowever, as has been previously outlined, the reason for any individual unsuccessful contribution may be due to a variety of factors, including insufficient funds, international restrictions, Internet connectivity, outdated browsers, incorrect login or card information, etcWe have had our team re-review the transaction history on this on this campaign and have confirmed that the transaction errors on this campaign are consistent with the reasons listed above
We do proactively notify contributors, via email, immediately after any unsuccessful contribution attemptsThis email includes a list of common contribution errors that they can review to assist them self-troubleshooting, and also outlines that they are more than welcome to reach out to us if they are unable to successfully contribute, or require further assistance
We understand that the customer experienced a time difference listed in a non-public place on their campaignThe hour of difference in the deadline displayed was a technical issue, which was only visible to the campaign owner and not to any other viewers of the campaignWe appreciate this customer notifying us of this issue which allowed us to notify our tech team and quickly resolve the underlying issue
After carefully reviewing the particulars of this complaint, we are unable to provide any discount or refund
Finally, we thank this customer for their feedback on our company, as well as our customer service
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 21, 2015/01/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This reply is not satisfactoryIndiegogo admits that they made errors, that they do not provide live customer support and/or ANY customer support on the weekendsThis campaign ended on a Sunday, so it's clear that no support was or could have been provided
The fact that the technical issue was viewable by the owners only does not mean that it was NOT a problemIt was a problemThere is nothing you can say to convince us otherwiseIT was a problemIt caused problems

Indiegogo customer service disregards complaints on its partners regarding fraud concerns or willful neglectTheir responses is to it dismiss written complaints (via assorted email links to its "policies") unless it hits whatever is their hidden algorithms In the interim, they continue to source funds for questionable enterprises while they presumably take their cut Lousy customer service and Highly questionable aiding and abetting issues

As we've previously outlined the nature of crowdfunding (***) is that contributing to a campaign on Indiegogo is not the same thing as making a purchase in a storePeople can raise money for various things, and be at various stages of their projectContributors are backing an idea, not purchasing a pre-made project or itemLike anyone contributing to an early-stage project, you accept the risk that the project might experience delays, changes to their original vision, or may not come to fruitionIndiegogo is not able to guarantee that perks will be fulfilled or that, if fulfilled, the Backer will find them satisfactory
Our Terms (***) outline the following:
Regarding this campaign, Indiegogo’s Trust and Safety team routinely reviews campaigns based on automated and manual techniques using multiple data pointsIn addition to these routine reviews, our team also investigates real-time feedback and concerns from our users and partners as new information comes to light
In this case, we suspended the BioRing campaign due to violations of our Terms of UseIndiegogo has issued refunds to all backers whose funds were not yet disbursed
The violation occurred after the original disbursementAt the time that Indiegogo’s Trust & Safety team reviewed the campaign and determined that it had violated our Terms of Use, we also refunded any contributions that were not yet disbursed to the campaign owner
Per our Refund Policy, outlined in our Terms of Use, once funds have been disbursed to a campaign owner, Indiegogo no longer has access to those funds to issue refundsBackers are encouraged to reach out to the campaign owner directly for questions about their contributions including refund requests. Although we are unable to refund the contributor’s contribution, we have been in touch with this contributor and have shared the campaign owner’s contact information with this contributor in an effort to facilitate communication

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
Did you even bother reading my complaint? You responded exactly as the problem I am describingYou are hiding behind your terms of use, but those same terms clearly state that the campaign owners have to communicate with their contributorsOne of the campaigns is not responding to anyoneEven with the fake contact information that was provided to me by Indiegogo supportThe other campaign is spottedly responding to people and its well over two years past delivery of anything or admitting the project failedThey are not giving any solid answers and will not issue any refunds I understand what crowdfunding isBut your own terms of use are not being followed by the scammers you supportYet Indiegogo will do nothing about it.
From your own terms that you are hiding behind, your campaigners are not following these terms you are flaunting: "Campaign Owners are legally bound to perform on any promise and/or commitment to Contributors (including delivering any Perks)""If a Campaign Owner is unable to perform on any promise and/or commitment to Contributors, the Campaign Owner will work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include the issuance of a refund of Contributions by the Campaign Owner"
How can you say these are the terms when you are not holding the campaigners accountable for not following them? How can you let them still have active accounts, take money, and feed us BS?
Lastly "In the event of any dispute, such as a Campaign Owner's alleged failure to comply with the Terms or alleged failure in fulfillment of a Perk, we may provide the Campaign Owner's contact information to the Contributor so that the two parties may resolve their dispute."
What good is the campaign owners contact information if they won't respondYou only provide an alleged "company" name and an unverified email addressYou do not provide any real name, phone number, address or and real way of contacting the campaigner.
Sincerely,*** ***

Indiegogo solicited me (I have the email to prove it) and portrayed this as a viable product with a promised delivery date of June All subsequent updates were merely excuses, alibis, and reasons for repeated delaysNow over a year after the originally promised delivery date, still no merchandiseIndiegogo never indicated that the product would not be delivered but indicated that refunds would be provided if it wasn'tIn fact, Indiegogo did provide refunds for awhile but stopped once overwhelmed with requestsIndiegogo also likes to bring up its manufactured terms of service when it suits its purpose but doesn't make those known until a refund is requestedIndiegogo is in violation of the Fair Credit Billing law (a federal statute) and is culpable in this matter and the only proper resolution is an immediate full refund of $
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2015/07/07) */
We understand this person has additional concerns regarding this matter
Again, we see that this campaign owner has been posting clear updates about the status of their project which we encourage this contributor to review, here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/healbe-gobe-the-only-way-to-automatically-mea... /> We'd like to clarify Indiegogo's roleIndiegogo offers an open platform that allows campaign owners to raise funds for their projectIn turn contributors can fund projects that they'd like to help bring to fruitionIndiegogo does not run campaigns nor do we offer or fulfill perksInstead, the owner of the campaign is the party solely responsible for their unique campaign and fulfilling any perks offered through their campaign (https://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/XXXXXXXXX)Indiegogo doesn't guarantee that perks will be delivered or deemed satisfactory by the contributors, and the decision whether to contribute to a campaign is at the sole discretion of the contributorWe leave it up to the contributor to make his or her own judgment about a campaign's merits before making a contribution
Regarding a refund, Indiegogo's Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms) that this contributor agreed to before contributing to this campaign, states:
"Contributions, including the Service Fees portion thereof, are not refundableIf a Campaign Owner is unable to perform on any promise and/or commitment to Contributors (including delivering any Perks), the Campaign Owner will work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include the issuance of a refund of Contributions by the Campaign Owner"
Indiegogo does not moderate disputes- including those between contributors and campaign owners regarding perksAs such, if this contributor has questions about when they can expect to receive their perk, or would like to receive a refund, they will need to inquire of the campaign owner, directlyWe have previously provided this contributor with the owner of this campaign's contact information to facilitate communication so that they may work out a resolution between themselves and the owner of the campaign
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2015/07/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Indiegogo never indicated its alleged terms of service at the time the product was purchased and also indicated that refunds would be provided if the product was not delivered (previous proof of that was previously uploaded)Also, Indiegogo sent me an email solicitation for this product

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: That may be the formality but that is not what took place in my case after 30 days the funds were released.  however I did receive the funds and I am happy to report the balance of my sons funeral services was paid for. I am happy that I can close this case. I think when you say 15 days and the funds are release 30 days later you wonder if this is a legitimate organization.Sincerely,[redacted]
