Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/08/06) */
We understand this customer has a question about a campaign which raised funds on Indiegogo
Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform which empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them, and in turn allows
contributors to help fund ideas they'd like to help bring to lifeCampaign owner's often offer perks (goods, services, etc.) in exchange for contributions to their campaign
Campaigns are run by their respective owners, and perks are offers made solely by the campaign owner- not by IndiegogoAs such, Indiegogo is not able to guarantee that perks will be delivered or deemed satisfactoryThe nature of crowdfunding is such that campaigns on Indiegogo are raising funds for work-in-progress projects, ideas, or causesContributing to a campaign and claiming a perk on Indiegogo is not the same as buying something onlineLike anyone getting in on an early-stage project, contributors accept the risk that the project may experiences changes, delays, unforeseen challenges, and it's possible that a project they fund might not come to fruition
We see that the owner of this campaign has been communicating with their contributors regarding the status of their project, as well as roadblocks they are encountering, and what steps they are takingWe encourage this contributor to review the campaign's updates tab (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/wave-electric-28-mph-bike#/updates) for the most up-to-date information from the campaign owner, directly
Because contributions made through Indiegogo are transactions that take place between the campaign owner, contributor, and payment processor, we are unable to issue a refund to this contributorHowever, we do suggest that the contributor feel free to reach out directly to the campaign owner to resolve any perk questions or request a refund
We have been in touch with this contributor to outline this information

We understand this customer has additional concerns on this matterWe'd like to note that this customer has filed a Revdex.com complaint against Indiegogo itself, rather than against the campaign owner- who is the party responsible for their campaign and any perks offered therein
We'd like to take a moment to clarify Indiegogo's roleIndiegogo offers an open platform that allows campaign owners to raise funds for their projectIn turn contributors can fund projects that they'd like to see come to to fruition
It's important to note, Indiegogo does not run campaigns nor do we offer or fulfill perksInstead, the owner of the campaign is the party solely responsible for their unique campaign and fulfilling any perks offered through their campaignIndiegogo does not guarantee that perks will be delivered or deemed satisfactory by the contributors, and the decision whether to contribute to a campaign is at the sole discretion of the contributorWe leave it up to the contributor to make his or her own judgment about a campaign's merits before making a contribution
As such, if this customer has questions about the status of this campaign, would like information about when they can expect to receive their perk, or would like to request a refund, they will need to make inquiries to the campaign owner, directlyIn an effort to facilitate communication between this customer and the campaign owner, we have previously provided them with the campaign owner's contact informationWe wish them the best of luck in arriving at a resolution to this complaint, with the campaign owner

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
It is very convenient for Indiegogo and their campaigners (QuiteLife Technologies) to pass the buck on to each other---I have not heard back from QuietLife Technologies since my last email to them on Oct(that's days ago...and I don't think they plan on responding); but someone has to be made accountableIndiegogo manages the platform on which campaigners like QuietLife Technologies operate onI believe that Indiegogo has some influence or authority over their campaigners as suchFirst of all, the policy of not accepting refund requests after days is unreasonable; why only days? That's not long enough to find out if the product is indeed going to be delivered because unexpedited international shipping usually takes more timeSo, by the time a customer discovers that the delivery date has been illegally and shrewdly moved back (in breach of the agreement), it's too late to ask for a refundSecondly, that policy is never handed out to the purchaser prior to the purchaseI only found out about it AFTER I discovered I could not get a refundBecause their refund policy is an out-of-the-ordinary business policy (I'm sure most all businesses find it only fair to give back a refund IF they cannot keep their end of the transaction), they should warn the buyers/backers upfront and from the get-goTo me this reeks of an intent to mislead backer/customersLook, I paid to get the product---still being developed but apparently ready enough to promise a delivery date----and in exchange, I expected to get it by the following month as QuietLife Technologies promisedIndiegogo cannot just wash their hands on this matter and deny all accountabilityIt is their platform on which this scam is being perpetrated.Sincerely,*** ** ***

We understand that this customer has additional concerns here
To be clear, Indiegogo does not run campaigns that are raising funds on our platformInstead, each campaign is run by their individual campaign owners who in turn may offer perks as rewards or as a thank you to their backers Remember, contributors are backing an idea, not purchasing a pre-made project or itemLike anyone contributing to an early-stage project, you accept the risk that the project might experience delays, changes to their original vision, or may not come to fruitionIndiegogo is not able to guarantee that perks will be fulfilled or that, if fulfilled, the Backer will find them satisfactory
As has previously outlined, Indiegogo is not able to issue this customer a refund for their contributionOur*** ** *** outline:
"Refunds
Contributors may request a refund from Indiegogo before the end of a Campaign hereFor Campaigns that have entered the InDemand program, Contributors may request a refund from Indiegogo within days of the contribution, hereContributions are eligible for a refund by Indiegogo unless (a) the contribution funds have already been transferred to the Campaign Owner, (b) the Perk associated with the contribution has been fulfilled, or (c) Indiegogo determines that there has been an abuse of these Terms of UseIndiegogo reserves the right to terminate User Accounts and remove Campaigns for any abuse of this refund policyFor Campaigns that have ended, or in situations where the contribution funds have been transferred to the Campaign Owner, Contributors should contact the Campaign Owner directly regarding refunds."

We are unable to mediate this dispute, but have previously provided this customer with the campaign owner's contact information in an effort to facilitate communicationThat said, it was unclear from the complaint, but is this backer requesting information such as the campaigner’s bank account information? If so, to address this request, we are unable to share any further information about our customers due to privacy concerns
We wish this backer the best of luck in arriving a resolution to this request, with the campaigner

IndieGoGo didn't even read this complaint and the updated that have been added because it was stated by Campaign owner (See original complaint has a Copy of the email that was added to the Complaint) that the Campaign Owner agreed to the refund and referred me to IndieGoGo to collect the refund seeing as IndieGoGo has the money and took the money from my credit card
This is the prime example of what this complaint is about that IndieGoGo business practices do not have any Consumer Protection and is evading there responsibility as the collector of the funds in the state of California from my credit card and they still maintain the collected funds
IndieGoGo is evading there responsibility as the business owner and the collector of the money from the credit card to refund the money ASAP because IndieGoGo stated all the responsibility have been meet by there own rules stated in this complaint and have still not done anything
IndieGoGo is doing business in California and has no consumer protects! The state of California needs to investigate this company and there illegal business practicesThe Better Business also needs to protect consumers even more because its one of there own business partners

So please understand my concerns with IndieGoGo and it's No Consumer Protection policesSo please let me know what I need to next to get as fare away from this company as possible and its bad business practices and lack of customer service followup as evident in IndieGoGo of lack of response from the Revdex.com forwarding of this complaint
Please help me to make sure that other consumers know how IndieGoGo do business with No Consumer Protections
Final Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2015/08/06) */
We understand that this customer has additional concerns on this matter
As previously outlined, both in this Revdex.com complaint thread as well as in this customer's interactions with Indiegogo directly, Contributions made through Indiegogo are between the campaign owner and contributor and are nonrefundable by IndiegogoOur Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms) states:
"Refunds
Contributions, including the Service Fees portion thereof, are not refundableIf a Campaign Owner is unable to perform on any promise and/or commitment to Contributors (including delivering any Perks), the Campaign Owner will work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include the issuance of a refund of Contributions by the Campaign Owner."
As such, while we are glad to see that this particular campaign owner is willing to work with this contributor on approving their refund, the campaign owner will have to issue a refund directly to the contributorIn this case, the funds have already been disbursed to the campaign owner and it is their sole obligation to issue refunds to their contributorsPer the previously outlined policy, Indiegogo does not issue them on the campaigner's behalf
We have been in touch with this contributor to explain this policyAdditionally, we have also reached out to the owner of this campaign to reiterate our policies and their obligations in this matter
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 13, 2015/08/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Again IndieGoGo has missed the the point so let me be very clearIndieGoGo did the dudigilance about allowing any one to have a Campaign on its platform Plus IndieGoGo took the money from my credit card so it is IndieGoGo responsibility to take care of its customers and have customer serviceIndieGoGo Business practices are illegal because they cant pass *** there responsibility to a third personIndieGoGo has no Consumer Protection for it's customers
The Revdex.com has proof of this just the number of complaints on IndieGoGo plus there answer to resolved any issue is using there terms and conditionsIndieGoGo terms and condition are not the answer to the problem This complaint is about the illegal business practices of NO CONSUMER PROTECTION and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE
The answer to this problem is IndieGoGo need to Refund the full amount of the Money they collected before the Campaign endsThat is called customer service
The State of California Attorney General Kamala Devi Harris office and the Securities and Exchange Commission are both looking into the problem of NO Consumer Protection of IndieGoGo and I sure hope that the Revdex.com is going to get on board very soon or they will become part of the problem
Thanks *** ***

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As I clearly stated in my complaint, I am well aware of the risks associated with crowdfundingI, at no time blamed Indiegogo for the MiTagg company STEALING my money, instead I fault you for your negligence in recognizing intentionally deceptive practices perpetrated on YOUR siteYour canned response bears no weight with me and you obviously didn't even look into this matter with any degree of depth or you would have seen that the "regular updates" posted by the campaign were a series of lies followed by thousands and thousands of angry comments by YOUR CUSTOMERSYet you allowed MiTagg to overfund their campaign for a year and collect $750,under a promise that was obviously falseIf you don't make any attempt to verify the validity of those you allow you crowd fund on your site then your website and your name become worthlessYou have lost thousand of patrons to your website over this one campaign and you will lose countless more unless a sense of business ethics guides you to help protect the very people you depend on to stay in business
Since my initial complaint the campaign has ended, so for that I am grateful that Indiegogo will no longer facilitate *** fraudThat being said, I never asked for a refund of my money and yet your cookie-cutter response seemed to address that issue specificallyNot one iota of responsibilty on your side?
Your advice to contact the campaign owner is a jokeof course I tried that, but criminals don't typically reply to e-mails sent by those they defrauded
The one positive I will take away from this dialogue is that I am now certain as to what kind of company Indiegogo really isone I want nothing to do with!

Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform that empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to themWe understand that this campaign owner is concerned about the status of their campaign’s disbursement of funds
Campaign funds raised via Direct Credit Card are typically
disbursed within business days of a campaign’s deadline, assuming that the bank account information is complete and accurateThis disbursement timeline is outlined during the campaign creation processAdditionally, all disbursement information is outlined in our Help Center: ***. This customer will receive an email notification when the funds have been disbursed
We have also been in contact with the campaign owner directly in order to clarify this process

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: This is a scam which, despite their own user agreement policies, is STILL being endorsed by Indiegogo to these dayI am also not the only one person who complains about it as you can see in the comments sections of all the other people who placed their order:
***
Like MANY other people on this projects, I have contacted the campaign owner SEVERAL times, using the contact info Indiegogo providedHowever, I have NEVER EVER received any response from them, nor by email nor even through their facebook pagesOn a last attempt to contact them through their YouTube channel, I simply had my comment deleted by the campaign owner (or his assistants) STILL leaving me without response
Despite all those people complaining AND CONSTANTLY REPORTING this "project" to Indiegogo, nothing have been done by this company to remove this scam and protect their customers like they claim they will be doing on their own policiesThis scam is STILL listed on Indiegogo web site as of today April 3rd Which mean that other people can still place an "order" and pay for something they will never receiveIndiegogo is failing of their OWN policy which states "our Trust & Safety team regularly runs automated and manual reviewsIn addition to routine reviews, our team investigates feedback and concerns from our community and partners" & "We hold our campaign owners accountable, from verifying the identity information they provide to making sure they communicate frequently with their backersIndiegogo does not tolerate abuse of our system and takes appropriate action when necessary to maintain the integrity of our platform." WRONG! Indiegogo ignored and STILL ignore all the reports and comments about the fraudulent project still hosted on their web siteIndiegogo is failing of their OWN policy which states: "Campaign Owners will respond promptly and truthfully to all questions posed to them by Indiegogo or any ContributorCampaign Owners will provide substantive and quality updates at least once a month to their ContributorsFailure to do so may result in punitive actions taken on the CampaignIf any Campaign Owner is unable to fulfill any of its commitments to Contributors (including delivering any Perks), the Campaign Owner will work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include refunding their Contributions." AGAIN WRONG!! The campaign owner NEVER delivered monthly project updates, but may be one update every or month, which always had the same excuse in it about the product not ready and pushing the product release date always further in timeThe campaign owner NEVER responded promptly and truthfully to all questions posed to them by Contributor, either on Indiegogo or by email
For all those reason, I believe Indiegogo is failing to their own user agreement now, and thus ARE responsible for the refund of their customers who placed their trust in their services.
I have already contacted an Attorney General of California about this issue and at this point we are ready to bring this front of the court of justice is necessary.
Sincerely,
Frank S.Frank Sanchez

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
Again, your policy of giving backers/customers ONLY days to ask for a refund is unreasonable and unfair to the backer/customer; Seriously, if a backer has to wait more than days to get the product delivered (at the earliest unexpedited international shipping time), how can he ever get a refund? In order for me to discover any damage or any unmet expectation from the campaigner's ad, I will have to receive it first---and that takes more than daysSo by the time I discover anything wrong with the agreement, days has already passed? Your policy scams backers into leaving their money with you (and the campaigner's hands) against their will! And that is why ***, ***, and other retailers have refund periods longer than just daysYou might say you are not a retailer--but if a perk is promised to be delivered, then that is an obligation that you and the campaigner have to meetFor the nth time, you 10-day-refund-window policy is both unreasonable and unfair to backers/customersMoreover, because it is such, you have to warn woubackers regarding this by making it intentionally warning them right before they give their money (because average customers don't read policies first before buying anything; you have to voluntarily give out this information).Sincerely,*** ** ***

We are so deeply sorry to hear of the loss of this customer's son.In reviewing the matter addressed in this complaint, we understand the organizer's concern, and apologize for any frustration or confusionTo clarify our disbursement process, after a fundraiser ends, any remaining funds will be
disbursed to the organizer within business days assuming that their bank account information is complete and accurateIt is possible however, for delays to occur due to incomplete or invalid bank account informationSuch delays as this are outlined in our Help Center: ***We are happy to report that the organizer was able to complete their bank account form, and the funds from this fundraiser were disbursed to the account on file in last week's disbursement cycle.
Again, our sincere condolences in this difficult time

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: to be clear; indiegogo never "clarified [their] position." Over five weeks out and I still have no idea why my campaign was suspended indefinitelyTo say the only real takeaways from this are informing your team of the response time issues is laughable; you suspended my campaign without reason and held roughly $in funds for over two weeks, without any response to my multiple emailsPoor service, bad customer serviceConsumers: go elsewhere for your crowdfunding needs. Sincerely,*** ***

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/03/03) */
Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform that empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to themContributions made through Indiegogo are transactions that take place between the campaign owner, contributor, and payment
processor, and are non-refundable by Indiegogo, as stated in our Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms)Therefore, we recommend the contributor reach out directly to the campaign owner if they are interested in receiving a refundAlthough we are unable to refund the contributor's contribution, we have been in touch with this to outline that they must contact the campaign owner if they'd like to receive a refund
By creating a campaign on Indiegogo, the campaign owner agrees to use funds and fulfill all perks as stated in their campaignIf, for any reason, they are unable to use Contributions as described in their Campaign, they agree to work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include refunding their Contributions
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/03/05) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They've done nothing to help get funders refundsThere is no indication of any actionI've contacted the campaign owner multiple times and have received no responseIndiegogo hides behind their platform and washes their hands of helping jilted contributors who are out hundreds of thousands of dollars
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/03/15) */
We understand this customer has a follow up to their initial complaint
As has been previously outlined, contributions are not refundable by IndiegogoOur Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms) states: "Contributions, including the Service Fees portion thereof, are not refundableIf a Campaign Owner is unable to perform on any promise and/or commitment to Contributors (including delivering any Perks), the Campaign Owner will work with the Contributors to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution, which may include the issuance of a refund of Contributions by the Campaign Owner."
Therefore, we recommend this contributor work with the campaign owner on their refund request
Finally, it's important to note that contributing to a campaign on Indiegogo is not the same thing as making a purchase in a storePeople can raise money for various things, and be at various stages of their projectContributors are backing an idea, not purchasing a pre-made projectLike anyone contributing to an early-stage project, you accept the risk that the project might experience delays, changes to their original vision, or may ultimately not come to fruitionWe recommend each contributor complete his or her own personal vetting process before deciding to contribute to any campaignWe have tips on how to evaluate a campaign, as a starting point, in our Help Center: http://support.indiegogo.com/entries/XXXXXXXX-how-to-evaluate-a-campaign

id=yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1477590851912_11906>Immediately after sending the complaint, I realized that my years were a year late (sorry for being an it)So the purchase date of Oct.6, should be Oct.6, 2016; and the estimated delivery date they promised at the time of the purchase "Nov.2015" should be Nov.2016; also they changed the delivery date to Octafter I had paid for it (not Oct.2016)Thank you so much!
