Close this site out immediately if it ever comes up on your computer. They say that you can ask experts a question for FREE. Obviously, they do not know the meaning of free. You type in your question and it is quickly followed by a note that you will charged $5. The entire time you are waiting for an answer, a pop up ad keeps telling you for a quicker answer, call the expert for a mere $33. Also, they have said if you cancel by a certain date (about 3day into future) you will not be charged anything. You cancel within less than 24 hours. Then, comes the surprise- you find a $38 charge on your CC bill. Of course you follow up with the company asking why you were charged.nAfter several emails back and forth, they regretfully agree to remove charges from the CC. Your next bill may show charges reversed. However, keep checking because after about 2 months when they think you are no longer paying attention, that charge shows up again. Read reviews on their site-almost all are negative for the same reason.
I have been having some issues with my car, and came across JustAnswers. Seemed like an interesting service, so I I signed up with justanswers for a $5 trial. The response I received was pretty vague and found some better solutions online in the message boards.
Anyways, I didn't recognize the email messages regarding my membership renewal after 7 days, and was charged $34 for annual membership sunday morning. I call customer service (11am on a sunday) and was told that the 7 day trial had expired and they couldn't refund my membership "because I had agreed to the contractual terms". I was literally 11 hours too late. Had I called at 11:59pm the night before, they could have refunded me.
After looking through my email, I noticed that they sent an email entitled "Your membership benefits". I didn't open the email prior to be charged, which I assume is partly my fault. After talking to the customer representative, I looked at the email and at the very bottom of the states " Your membership plan: Price: $34 Next payment: Jan. 05, 2019"
In my opinion, this is a very misleading way of charging someone. No explicite email saying " your membership renewal". The irony is that on their contact webpage, they state "Your satisfaction is our #1 priority". Obviously, that is not the case.
My recommendation: do not sign up for trial, as it seems like they are a company engineered to take you money before you realize what happened.

Thanks for getting in touch with us about this, we apologize for any confusion. The billing picks up after the end of the trial to avoid an interruption in service.
As you noted, we do send the details of the membership billing in an E-mail but they are presented to each customer on the billing page as well before you enter any billing information. it seems that this might have been overlooked as well.
At this time I can confirm that we've issued a refund for the charge and you won't see any other charges unless you come back to post another question to the site.

I asked a question regarding a printer and MacBook problem. I paid $4.50 and received no answer. I was charged ten cents five times for something related to clean water, ending cancer or whatever. I received no response of any kind from your service at any time. Then I was charged $46.00 for some membership. I want no part of your just answer whatever it is. Please credit my account $46.00 immediately. This is beyond fraudulent business practice!

I asked a couple of questions on JustAnswer thinking it was a free service. I did not realize it was not, nor did I realize I was accepting a "free trial offer". I frequently check activity on my
credit cards and I discovered a charge of $46 on my American Express bill dated Dec 5, 2018.
I sent an e-mail to the company and received a reply to confirm that my membership was turned off on 12/07/2018. However, the charge was not removed from my credit card. Now I am informed that I did not respond within a 7 day period. My first contact was on Nov 28, 2018. I am not certain when the 7 days started, but I feel that I was not properly informed of this and I did not receive any consideration for return of the $46.
I have run a business in the past and would gladly have given a client a refund if they were unaware that a "free trial" meant that you would be charged.

JustAnswer has never been a free site. In order to post a question to the website you have to enter billing information and agree to the initial deposit as well as a membership on 2 different pages.
In looking at your account we can see that a refund was processed for the membership charge and you should see the funds back in your account in the next 3-5 business days at the most.

illegally charged for subscription after cancelled

Don't be fooled. I paid $5 for "trial" as I had a Sunday night question for a HVAC person. I immediately notified JustAnswer that I did NOT want membership to be continued. I've now been billed for Nov and Dec membership at $28 each. They apparently have no record of me stating that I did NOT want membership and have now told me "no refunds." I am disputing this with my credit cards company and will then file with Revdex.com if no resolution. Beware, the experts are not scams but the business practices of JustAnswer are indeed questionable.

They are a complete scam. $30 for them to say call me? I don't think so. It's just another scam out there to take money from the American public. This was the first time and only time that I use this farce of a business.

The Phone-call option does cost extra due to the dedicated amount of time from the Expert but it's not obligatory if you're comfortable communicating via the chat on the site.

This service is wonderful. I was especially impressed by the quick response to my questions and the sincere effort put forth by the advisor to help me.
This company does a great job of answering questions. Big problem is there "free membership trial". It auto renews without warning and when you call back to have the fee refunded, they will not help you. During my chat with them at the beginning of the free trial I asked for my trial period and or membership to be canceled immediately. They said they can not do that. The reason they can not do that is because they want to auto bill you in a few day and then not return the money when asked. I will never use their service again. They need to change their ways!! Terrible customer support!

I was having issues with my printer not printing. Just ask worked with me for 2 hours to get the issue corrected. I can print again thanks to just ask.

I did give them a very hard question that I have calling different numbers at Browning Arms, also different question websites and no answer. I know that they have to feel like I do very disappointed in themselves. So does just ask . But I will say this they don’t give up easy.
