Laz Parking Reviews (203)

Review: I renewed my annual LAZ parking permit for my space in [redacted] in March of this year, 2015, over the telephone. I have renewed in this way for a number of years now. I did not take down the name of the agent on the phone as I have never had a problem with LAZ’s service. In fact, the payment process has always been a very routine and cordial one. I was therefore perplexed when I received a parking ticket on Monday, May [redacted]. I called the [redacted] office and spoke with agent 1 who took down the information and told me he would have someone call me back. I next sent agent 2 an email about the matter as we had corresponded in February of this year about another matter. After explaining the matter to agent 2, she passed me on to agent 3, who would not give me her last name. Agent 3 was from the outset of the conversation very combative. She would not listen to my recitation of events and kept getting wrong the few key facts I shared with her. I hope the conversation was taped so that LAZ may judge the tenor of the exchange. I was shocked by the interaction and by her insistence that the error could only be on my part. I know I made the payment over the phone. As said, agent 3 kept confusing very simple facts thinking that I was telling her that I was objecting to my card being declined by an agent in March. I repeated the sequence of events at least three times as she kept confusing the details and continually talking over me. I told her I wanted to appeal the matter and she told me she would pass the matter on to her supervisor, agent 4. When I tell you that even the most base-line communication skills were missing on the part of agent 3, I do not overstate the matter. I have little to no confidence that she transmitted the correct facts to her supervisor, agent 4, nor that the office in general is one that cares about LAZ customers. In follow-up, I received an email regarding the May [redacted] fine from agent 4 who addressed my appeal in the most off-hand way at very bottom of the email. If I hadn’t read to the bottom, I wouldn’t have even known that this form email about a fine was intended to address my complaint.

So, I am writing this complaint to the Revdex.com. As said earlier, I phoned in my payment in March as I always do. For some reason the payment didn’t enter the system. I don’t know why. I have been a LAZ customer in Beacon for about 11 years now with never any kind of problem. I always paid my permit renewal fee on time and had good interactions with LAZ personnel. In short, I have been a loyal and happy LAZ customer up until this point and I did in good faith attempt to pay my bill via phone in March. I truly think this situation grossly unfair. There was obviously an error on the part of the agent processing the payment. My experience with the LAZ [redacted] office tells me that no one there cares in the least about customers. It definitely was not at all this way in the past. Personnel had good communication skills and were cordial.

The resolution I seek is simply to again pay my annual LAZ parking permit fee and have my privileges reinstated.Desired Settlement: I want to pay my annual LAZ parking permit fee for [redacted] and have my privileges reinstated.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: I pay for a permit in the Cold Spring train parking lot, which is run by LAZ parking. It is certainly not a minor cost at about $400.00 a year, on top of a $400 monthly train ticket. My car was ticketed for parking in a permit space with an expired permit. I had renewed my permit for the year with the proper payment, and I received in my email a new permit to display. This means I have to print it out, cut it out, and hang it in my car. Though I was paid up, my car was ticketed for violating their policy of not displaying expired permits. I had forgotten to print it, cut it out, and put it in my car where the old tag is. They do have my license plate on file, but they fail to take the effort of checking to see if I've paid. I assumed that since I had already paid, a simple phone call would resolve the issue. [redacted] refuse to void the ticket, despite my account being completely paid up. She tells me that I signed their contract, which means I agreed to always display an up-to-date permit, and I must adhere to the rules I agreed to. I find the policy of not voiding the ticket unfair. Using the information LAZ has access to, my personal information, they should have known that I was not parking without paying, and no ticket should have been issued. I think a courtesy to a paying customer should be a warning. I also find their policy of refusing to void tickets unfair to the consumer. There are often extenuating circumstances that would reasonably alleviate the burden of a further fine on a paying customer. LAZ is a big company who can tell me I have to pay this ticket or they will tow my car. I have no choice but to pay their ticket. I hate to think that this is how they treat consumers who have no option but to park in this lot.Desired Settlement: I believe LAZ should change their policies to be ethical. I would like a refund of my fine, and I would also like the ticket to be removed from my record.

Regarding [redacted] Dispute, Below is our response.

As the parking enforcement for the NYS Metro-North, LAZ Parking is responsible for ensuring that the MTA Rules and Regulations

for parking are adhered too. By obtaining a LAZ parking Permit customers are bound to adhered to their permit Rules & Regulations

to avaoid being cited For non-compliance or having their permit revoked. I have included a copy of the LAZ parking for the Permit

Holders that is available to all permit customers upon applying for a LAZ Permit. This information is posted on our website:

Even though [redacted] received a violation for parking on July **, 2013 for parking in a Permit Space w/o A Permit Display, and

received a violation in the amount of $20.00. We reduced the violation to a "Non-Display Offense" in the amount of $7.00 as a courtesy

(which she has since paid). This reduction came with a verbal notification that all Permit Customer must be displaying their active

permit to avoid being cited for non-compliance. Paying for the right to utilize a Permit space does not entitle permit holders to refunds

for failure to abide by their binding Permit Agreement. No refunds will be issued.

Sincerely,

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The issue of importance is with the business policy as explained in my complaint, and it was not addressed in the business's response. I want LAZ to consider changing the contract that their permit holders sign because the policy is unfair. LAZ only responded to my comment on a refund, which was secondary. Customers should not be penalized for failing to display a permit on a one-time basis as long as the annual contract has been paid in full.

Sincerely,

Review: I parked at the new Hamburg train station. There were not metered spaces Available, so I parked next to a car that was not parked in a space but there's enough room to park 4+ cars . This is not permit parking nor is it metered so you can not choose a space number and park there. When I got back to my car the other vehicles did not have tickets and also did. Not have a permit in here window . I was issued a ticket for making in permit parking with no permit, which was not the case. So I called the number on the ticket and spoke to this woman Cathy who would not let me speak, was incredibly rude, and preceded to speak over me every time I tried to say anything. She told me if there are no metered spaces , which there were not when I arrived, then I need to go to another station, however I needed to make my train. She said " that's not my problem " ticket stands" I asked for her supervisor to call me he did he explained that these were made into permit spaced however the lines have disappeared, excuse me am I suppose to know there were line in the space if I physically cannot see them? He also said ticket stands it's like they do not care to listen to anything we have to say. I know about permit parking as I commuted into nyc daily for 6 months and I purchased a permit. This wS not a permit space nor was it. A space the ticket is incorrectly issued and I refuse to payDesired Settlement: I want them to drop the ticket

Review: First of all, there are no prices listed anywhere at the parking garage in front of the House of Blues at their location 725 Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101. When you put your card into the machine, there is also no prices listed. There is just a sign outside that says Public Parking $5. Even after all is said or done you don't get a receipt or a ticket or anything explaining how much you will be charged. I understand the laws of California make it illegal to charge for goods without issuing a receipt. Not only that but it is a bait and switch tactic because parking is listed for $5 public. I was parked for three hours and they charged $40. I did not agree with the charge so I tried to page an attendant through the intercom but it was a dead line. This business is a totally illegal operation.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the illegal charges ($35) to avoid further action on my part which includes public petition and subpoena.

Review: I TRIED TO CONTACT THIS COMPANY SEVERAL TIMES, BUT NONE ANY RESPOND

I received a parking fee on 10:29am 8/19/2015 at a plaza “Shops at La Jolla Village” your shopping center, and the reason given on the citation was that I was UNAUTHORISED PARKING. However I just parked my car at the parking lot in the plaza, then walk to [redacted] which is located in the same plaza to do some business. I got my bank receipt which printed at time 10:28, then I walk back to my car, I saw this ticket, which issued at time 10:29. According to the sign in the parking lot, the customer in this plaza can park their car up to two hours. And I am confused as to why I received a ticket, for me just visiting the bank for a short time. I believe the citation was made in error, and if that is the case, I would like to contest it.

This is the first parking ticket that I have ever received because I am very careful to obey parking regulations. If I know there are some other rules to the bank client, I would not have parked in that place.

If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me.

I have all the copy of bank receipt printed with time, the parking notice print with time, the photograph where I parked, and the video while I drive into the parking lot. I can provide if its necessary.

Best,Desired Settlement: I would like the ticket to be removed, and avoid all the further action against to me or on my part which includes public petition and subpoena.

Good Afternoon, Jamie. We have received the complaint, that you have submitted, in regards to Parking Fee Notice #[redacted] . We have taken your appeal into consideration and LAZ Parking has decided to void parking fee notice #[redacted], in full, and waive all related fees. To clarify, LAZ Parking does monitor the Shops at La Jolla Village parking lot to ensure not only that the parkers do not stay over the allotted time but also to ensure that vehicles parked in the lot belong to customers shopping at the center, only during the time that they are shopping at Shops at La Jolla Village Center. Please feel free to contact us, with any questions or concerns. Thank you, [redacted]LAZ Parking[redacted]

Regards,

Review: On Friday, January 8th I recieved a parking citation from LAZ parking for parking In a reserved space. That evening I had arrived at the Ramada Inn in the Gaslamp District as didn't find a valet out front to park my Suv. I saw a public parking lot adjacent to the hotel and drove into it to park because I was blocking traffic on the street. I pulled into a spot that said " Ramada Inn - Reserved Parking 24/7 No Public parking"; being that I was checking into the Ramada hotel as a registered guest I figured it was for hotel patrons. At around 12:15a I went to check on my car and found a parking fine for $39.00 for having parked in that stall. None of the hotel staff informed me that the space was reserved for the hotel airport shuttle and referred my dispute to LAZ parking. I submitted an online appeal for my fine but recieved a Decline from the company with no real explanation.Desired Settlement: I want LAZ parking to dismiss the parking fine as the sign they have posted in their lot is very misleading and poorly labeled. Any one staying at the Ramada Inn would easily confuse that parking stall as being for hotel guests.

Business

Response:

Hello [redacted], Thank you for reaching out to us, again, regarding your parking fee notice. Unfortunately, we are unable to clear the notice, as your vehicle was not authorized to park in the reserved space, at the 840 6th Ave. parking lot. We apologize for the inconvenience. [redacted]LAZ Parking

Consumer

Response:

The parking citation I recieved makes absolutely little sense, and I don't believe I should have to pay it based on the cricumstances.

Business

Response:

Hello,The vehicle in question was issued a parking fee notice because it did not abide by the rules of the location. The vehicle was parked in a space that is clearly designated as Reserved parking space for a business that purchases the space, on a monthly basis. The fee that was incurred is a penalty for parking in a space where it was unauthorized to park. Thank you.

Review: On Sunday May 31, I parked my car in this parking garage at 5:45 pm and exited at around 11:15 pm. When I exited the parking garage, I handed the man who was standing there my debit card where he swiped my card without telling me how much I was being charged or asking me how long I had been parked there. I checked my bank account the next day only to find I had been charged $30 for parking there for only five and a half hours. When I had parked here in the past, I only paid $2. I do believe that I was charged $30 by mistake and perhaps I was charged a weekend or special event rate.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund so that I am being charged the correct amount.

Business

Response:

The customer is mistaken, he was charged the correct rate for parking on that day. The rates on the weekends are frequently set as flat rates, and do not change based on the amount of time a customer is parked. Rates are clearly posted at the entrance machine, directly below where a ticket is issued or a credit card is scanned to enter the garage. Unfortunately it appears the customer did not see it. We are replying to the customer directly to thank them for their feedback, explain how the flat rate process works, and to apologize, but we are not able to issue a refund.

Review: I received a “failure to pay” ticket while parking at an LAZ parking lot, however I paid the amount that was requested. When contacting LAZ I was informed that the ticket was actually for parking in an area requiring a permit even though the ticket clearly stated otherwise. I tried to explain that the signage in the parking area noted otherwise (i.e. that it showed public parking the day I parked there), and that the ticket did not indicate this was the issue, but it fell on deaf ears. LAZ has been largely unresponsive and difficult to deal with, and I find this to be a very deceptive practice on their part.

Moreover, the parking lot that I paid at only accepted cash and did not offer a receipt. I've come to learn that this may be considered "illegal sales suppression" in California.

I have photos and an email thread which detail this situation and prove that the ticket I've received is unjustifiable. I would be more than happy to forward these to the Revdex.com if an email address can be provided.Desired Settlement: Formal dismissal/cancellation of aforementioned ticket, and reimbursement for my time spent challenging the ticket at $50/hr

Business

Response:

We apologize for the inconvenience. It appears there was an error made when processing your original appeal. We will take the necessary steps to clear the parking fee notice and void all related fees. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you, [redacted]LAZ Parking (858) 587-8888 ext. [redacted]

Thank you for the acknowledgement. I will stay tuned for the formal dismissal of the notice, and payment of my time spent on this matter which currently stands at 4.25 hours. Review: I was issued a non-government/ non-police parking ticket (Issue no. [redacted]) on Wednesday December 12, 2014 at 1:01 pm. I had attempted to pay the meter several times and with different credit cards. The meter would no complete the processing of the cards. It was not my payment method, the meter was not working and another customer had the same issue. I even left a note on my car explaining that the meter was broken. When I came back to my car, there was a parking fee notice. I immediately wrote a letter to LAZ parking and explained the situation. I have yet to receive any contact from them or any resolution.Desired Settlement: I would like the ticket to be removed.

Good Afternoon, [redacted]. Thank you for reaching out to us, regarding your concerns about Parking Fee Notice #[redacted]. The notice, issued on 12/10/14, was issued by our attendant #[redacted], for "Failure to Pay Posted Rate." We have addressed this issue with the location manager and he is aware that there were technical issues with the pay station at the Cass St. location, on the date in question. Review: Hi,

We used their self parking service in LA in 2nd January for 2 hours. Their parking machine there did not work but it didn't provide any error message even my girl friend and I have spent $40 in it in different ways. (First 2 times by Visa debit card, 3rd time by Master credit card, 4th time by Cash)

Now we are asking for the refund to our card, totally $30.

Here's the information below,

Master Credit Card [redacted] XXXX XXXX XXXX

([redacted])

DATE: 02/JAN/2015

TIME: 19:00-19:30

Please give us a reply and the refund as soon as possible,

Thanks.

Happy New Year.Desired Settlement: The parking charge for one night is $10, but we totally paid $40 because of the malfunction of parking machine.

Review: I am complaining about the signage at Seaport Village, a tourist area, in San Diego, Calif., where the parking facility is run by LAZ Parking. The signage, upon entering the parking area, indicates that parking is $3.00 for 2 hours. The rest of the information is written below this and in less observable letters. When we exited the facility, having been there less than 2 hours, we were told that the parking fee is $16. 75 (including tax) because we did not spend a minimum of $10. and have our ticket validated. A non-validated ticket charge is $8.00 and hour. This is outrageous!! The sign indicating the validation and minimum expenditure does not stand out and is not readily noticeable. One car in front of us and four or five cars behind us returned to the parking lot in order to spend the $10. and avoid this exorbitant fee. We believe this should be looked into by the Revdex.com. Thank you.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $13. plus tax.

Regards,

Review: On 26OCT2014 I was issued a citation for "FAILURE TO PAY POSTED RATE" and the citation provided an address to which to send a dispute (Citation# [redacted]).

My dispute is that I *had* paid the rate an hour ealier when I originally parked in the space and the citation was issued within 5-10 minutes of my having placed packages in the back of my car so that I could visit other nearby businesses unencumbered.

I wrote a very clear and polite recounting of the events leading up to the issuance of the citation (including copies of receipts from businesses I had visited), including the fact that I had paid an hour earlier and that the posted rules said I could park there for 0-9 hours and that there was nothing posted regarding not being able to place packages in my car without paying again. I sent my letter with the copies of the receipts to the address provided via CERTIFIED MAIL (unique ID provided upon request) on 3NOV2014, well within the 14-day response window as specified on the citation. I also provided my full contact information so that they may respond that my dispute was accepted/rejected.

It has been over two months and I have not heard back from them.

Their employee made a mistake and they have failed to give me any kind of response to the message that I have sent to them. I paid my fee as required, and because one of their employees made a mistake it seems that I am being extorted to the tune of $39 to prevent my vehicle from being towed should I make use of any of their parking lots in the future.Desired Settlement: I want a fair evaluation of my dispute.

I want to receive in writing whether they have accepted my dispute and I am allowed to use their facilities without the threat of the loss of my vehicle (and the exhorbitant sum of money and time it would take me to recover my vehicle), or whether they reject my response and they insist on having their $39 extortion so that I be able to use LAZ Parking facilities without the threat of the loss of my vehicle.

Review: I stay in a high rise apartment building in [redacted] that is undergoing construction at the garage where I normally park my car. As a courtesy the property management had provided valet parking services. The garage is under heavy construction right now and the valet guys try to manage to park those cars with those construction zones which I consider highly dangerous. My Honda Accord was parked by them and when they brought it back to me it had damage on the front passenger side of the car. I mentioned it to the valet guys and they acknowledged it, told me to fill out a form and someone will get in touch with me to fix it. I get a letter after three weeks that they are not going to fix my car!! This is outrageous and frustrating. Let alone they park our cars in a garage that is hazardous with construction going on all the time, the valet guys damage our car when bringing it back to us and then deny fixing them!! I don't deserve the damage in the first place and at least they can be professional to honor the mistake and fix it. My wife saw it right as soon as she drove and came back and told them that it was damaged. This has got me and my wife a lot of mental and emotional stress. I had already complained once because of mismanagement of cars and then not bringing them in time to drop my daughter to school. All the construction is already causing headaches and problems and now on top of it they won't fixed my damaged car. I expect them to fix my car and the damages caused because of it! They still provide valet service and I cannot even park my car with them anymore if they continue damaging it, acknowledging it and then not fixing it! The claim number is [redacted]. I would like to get this resolved as soon as possible as this is just highly unprofessional and cheating their customers!Desired Settlement: I would like to get my car repaired as soon as possible as it is causing me a lot of emotional stress with all the issues related to parking and also the damages caused to my car!!

Good Morning,

Review: On Saturday, November 23, 2013 I parked my vehicle at a Laz Parking lot. I used my GPS for directions to the parking lot because I was coming out of town from [redacted], Va. I pulled into the parking lot and no assistance was in sight. In order to get into the parking lot I had to take a ticket. However, I had previously purchased a parking pass online for the [redacted] vs [redacted] basketball game. Since there wasn’t an attendant in sight I just parked my car and proceeded to the game. Upon exiting the parking lot, after the end of the basketball game, I presented a copy of my printed parking receipt to the attendant at [redacted] He informed me that I had parked in the wrong garage and the garage that I was supposed to go to was located next door at [redacted]. There was plenty of confusing on my part so I called the number that was on my parking pass. They told me I had to call the customer service number during business hours to get a refund for the ticket I had purchased online. Not totally satisfied I walked over to the parking lot to speak to the attendant there. The attendant’s name was [redacted] and he told me that there wasn’t anything that he could do but if I called his supervisor, [redacted], on the next business day, he would definitely refund the $20 I paid online for the ticket. The only choice I had was to pay another $20 to get my car out of the parking lot. I called [redacted] on Monday, November 25, 2013 at ###-###-#### and left a message. I proceeded to call everyday and on Sunday, November 29, 2013 I received a text from [redacted] saying he was out of town. It is now December 12, 2013 and I have not heard anything from him again and my problem remains unresolved. At this point I don’t know who to get in contact with to try and resolve my problem.

To whom it may concern,

I do remember talking to him and had instructed him to contact the online vendor from where he bought the voucher for refund .I thought the issue was resolved .Since he bought the space/voucher from a third party ,Laz Parking can't directly refund him. All he need to do is contact the online vendor and he can be refunded. If he dosen't want to contact them directly ,he needs to provide me the following information and I will contact them for a refund.

Vendor name([redacted])

Full name of the person you purchased the voucher

The email address that was provided to vendor at the time of purchase

confirmation number

Date the voucher was purchased.

[redacted], you are not being truthful. I tried contacting you several times via phone and you never answered my calls. Then you sent a text message saying you were on vacation. You never told me to contact anyone else. Furthermore your assistant assured me that you would refund me because you would be able to see that my parking ticket never entered your garage on the date in question. I don't want a hassle. I just want my refund that I was guaranteed by [redacted]. Thank you.

Review: It is very SAD to have very Untrained and One dimension Employee. My wife was held hostage for about 1hr by Salo M[redacted]. The same scenario that just occurred happened in Miami last week while I was in Vacation and the Attendant resolved it very quickly just verifying payments. My wife entered your lot in [redacted] Washington DC, punched the button, collected a card, went to a store. she returned to the machine, paid and attempted to Exit. The exit machine says error. She called the attendant and notified him and this guy held her hostage because she cannot provide a receipt. she called me at home, I logged in immediately into her [redacted] Credit Union Account. I saw the payment, took a picture of it and sent it to this her to show the guy that it went through and paid for. This company for Consumer benefit and customer service should have diversified ways of verifying payments. There are elderly people in the society that uses your facility and are prone to loosing their receipt. People cannot suffer like this because of very poor, untrained employees who lack societal ethics. I am sending this message while my wife is still standing in the parking garage waiting for the POLICE TO ARRIVE just for $13.00 payment that I have verified went through. AFTER receiving a police report, I will press for charges and her time. I spoke with the Facility Security officer who verified the payment I sent and attempted to talk to this guy. I could hear his voice yelling at my wife on the phone, threatening her about all the Cameras you guys have in your parking garage and telling her to move her car. This is ignorance at the highest order. The same issue was resolved easily at MIAMI.Desired Settlement: As a healthcare advocate in my line of work I am in contact with multiple customers who at times express their concerns or complaints with the type of service they receive. AT NO TIME ARE THESE PATIENTS DISREPECTED OR DISMISSED AS WAS THE SITUATION AT LAZ PARKING ON [redacted] WASHINGTON DC BY MR. SALO M[redacted]. As a result of his actions I lost a wholdays worth of wages.I demand to be compensate for the time lost.

Review: The staff was very unprofessional and they lost my daughters car.Desired Settlement: Hire qualified and competent staff. Train the staff to be more professional and more efficient.

Review: Damage to my vehicle while in the possession of Laz Parking totaling $537.98. Refusing to submit insurance carrier or paying the amount of damages.Desired Settlement: Pay for damages to my vehicle while in their possession of $537.98.
