I am glad you agree that an outside audit is an excellent start to identify the issues and possible solutions to your issues.  I will arrange for the audit to transpire as soon as possible and forward the results upon receipt for further discussion to solutions.  I will also post these results in this forum as well.

Our accounting department will be sending the refund of the preparation fees to Ms. [redacted] in the amount of $225. I am not provided with a copy of the check, but she should receive it within 10-15 business days. It will be mailed to the address she has supplied the Revdex.com and on file with our offices as...

these are the same.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I just received an email from you that this complaint has been closed. I read message from the business. I was given an invoice on my charges for tax preparation day picked up refund check. Even told the lady I was told $150.00. They did not refund me this amount, they were giving me a check for 790.00 and I told the lady my refund was $830.00. She called someone, and she gave me 40.00 in cash, they were charging me bank fees, so my dispute has not been settled. I wasn't even given all my taxes, the lady I saw on June 12th gave me a copy of ALL my tax documents. Still have dispute on amount being charged. The refund was for bank fees of 40.00 [redacted]

The office was closed due to a business trip so we were not able to handle the situation until we arrived in town. The customer came into the office today on June 12th to receive her refund check. The pricing of her return was explained to the customer with a detailed invoice. The...

customer was refunded for the misunderstanding and the customer stated she will be back to fix her previous year tax situations from another tax office with our location.

I am writing in response to a complaint that was filed against us by [redacted], complaint # [redacted].  My name is [redacted] and I am  the general  manager for the [redacted] location owned by [redacted] and where the complaint was sent.   I spoke with Mr. [redacted]...

yesterday after receiving the letter from you and wanted to respond promptly. We do admit unfortunately there was a mistake on his return.  We did fix our mistake and as per our written guarantees, Mr. [redacted] was reimbursed his fees that he paid, plus penalties and interest he received.  The amount of tax he owes is out of our control and not covered in our written guarantee.  Our preparers have to pass a basic knowledge level 1 test in order to work for Liberty.  They have opportunity to grow as the tax year progresses and we encourage continually training our staff.  This was a simple mistake that could of happened to any preparer regardless of how seasoned they are.  We apologize for any inconvenience that Mr. [redacted] has incurred and welcome him back next year.  Please let me know if there is anything else we can do to resolve this matter.

The other office and myself have been unable to get in contact with Ms. [redacted]. She has not responded to calls from the office or my emails. I’m not sure if there is any further action that we can take until she contacts your organization again.

I've contact this business about my tax refund that they received from the IRS that was suppose to be sent to me but it never was. They stole it. I had my taxes done by the manager of this company and she was paid out of my own pocket for her expenses. My tax return was supposed to be sent to me when it came in and it never was. I contacted the IRS about my refund and they said this business received it direct deposit a month ago. The company had no intentions of contact me about and/or sending me my refund. If I would have never called they would have just stolen my money and acted like they were not wrong. I need my $286 tax return. I had the money calculated to use and since it was stolen by this company and never sent to me it has inconvienced me. On top of that the associated are rude and no one is trying to resolve the matter. They just leave their phones off of the hook. Please help me. I am a disabled veteran on a fixed income I need my money. Desired SettlementI would like my tax refund of 286 plus the initial fees refunded to me for the inconvience and bad service I have received. Business Response Consumer Response I would like my initial tax preparation fees refunded as well which the company did not refund. I was caused monetarily inconviences because of the company's unwillingness to refund me money that was owed to me by them in a timely manner. Due to financial hardships caused by them I would like the initial tax preparation fees refunded in addition to the refund. If not I will pursue this matter in small claims court to recoup those funds. Final Business Response Dear [redacted],We appreciate you doing taxes with Liberty Tax. Although we provided excellent service when you did your taxes with us we do not have any control when IRS processes your refund and finally sends its to us. We understand your are upset about how the whole system works but it is beyond our control and we follow strict guidelines suggested by IRS. As a token of appreciation we would like to give 50% off filling fees the next time time you come in for taxes. Thanks for your understanding. Best Regards,Liberty Tax - Raleigh NC.

Liberty tax services charged for twice for the same service.Liberty tax was hired to prepare my individual tax return for the 2015 tax year. During this process I had to have my taxes amended. I drove from Maryland back to the original place of my filing in Raleigh NC to have this service completed because liberty locations in Maryland were unable to complete my taxes due to the employee's lack of training. The employee stated "she was unable to complete my amendment in Maryland because she was not comfortable completing tax returns for three separate states". So March 6, 2016 I had my amendment completed in Raleigh for a fee of 300.00 which I paid upfront with my Visa card. Subsequently my original refund in the amount of 227.00 from my initial filing posted to my account March 10, 2015. Liberty Tax service did not release my funds instead they kept this amount in addition to the 300.00 I paid. After waiting the appropriate amount of time as directed by the IRS I contacted them to check the status of my refund. The IRS informed me that my refund was issued to Liberty Tax Service 3/10/16 and that I need to contact them. Once I contacted Liberty Tax Service they were unable to provide any logical reasoning as to what happened to my my refund. I consistently requested from [redacted] the employee that I spoke with why they kept my refund and did not notify. I informed her when I contacted their office 3/21/16 that it had been eleven days and they failed to contact me in regards to my refund. It is apparent that they are conducting unfair and illegal practices by holding on to tax payers refunds and charging them for the same service. I have contacted Corporate headquarters in regards to this matter three times and I still have no clear resolve to the matter. My complaint reference number with headquarters is [redacted]Desired SettlementI am seeking my total tax refund in the amount of $227.00 plus an additional $150.00 for half of my filing fees for a total of $377.00. Due to the amount of time that has already been wasted I am requesting that all money owed to me be expedited using an overnight carrier/mail service

the address of the complaint is [redacted] I have been trying to get my copy of taxes for over a month I contacted the office via phone/email a month ago. no one responded. I contacted corporate and they took my info, a week passed I called again. they updated my info and told me the office should be open on a certain day. I tried to office, no one opened it even though their website said they kept office hours out of tax season. called corporate again and emailed corporate. the person on the phone was very rude. would not let me speak with their supervisor, she said their management team did not want to speak with customers directly even if they had a complaint. even though the person who emailed said to call and ask for a supervisor. the owner of the office called me to tell me my taxes would be at the office ready to be picked up tuesday 9-22 at 9 am. I went there and the woman didn't know what I was talking about or how to get my taxes. she took down my info and told me she would speak with the manager and call me but I never heard from her. I emailed and called today and am told nothing can be done. this is holding up a very important process for us and has gone on for 4 weeks. I'm not sure what else to do but I don't want anyone else to have to deal with these people. we paid $500 to have our taxes done there and now we can not purchase our home because we can't get them to give us our copy. they advertise office hours all year round and assistance and copies whenever you need them and that is obviously not the case. /////Desired Settlementi just expect that this be handled asap and that they not advertise for series and office hours that are false./////

When I went to file my taxes with Liberty Tax, there where signs stating satisfactory guarantee or they would refund the cost of the preparation fee. On January 27, 2014, when I went to file my taxes with Liberty Tax, there where signs stating satisfactory guarantee or they would refund the cost of the preparation fee. My total federal tax return was $611 after the IRS deducted $167.19 the amount of the return was reduced to $443.81 in which I was told by the company over the phone that $443.81 was the cost of the preparation fee. I was never told this prior to them filing my return. The Preparers name is [redacted] XXXXXXXX the invoice number is [redacted] and the Office number is XXXXX. The IRS released the funds on February 12, 2014. I have tried to settle the issue with the company but I keep getting told that the owner would call me. I was told this on February 14, 2014 but I have yet to hear from the owner.Desired SettlementI would like a full refund of the cost of preparation which is the full $443.81Business Response More info received from the business 2014-02-21Customer came into the office on 2/18/14 and received a refund of his fees. The check that he received cleared our bank on 2/19/14

liberty tax service does not practice ethical issues. I have used this service for about three years. The staff has changed totally. Every since the beginning I have had no problem. This year the amount they quoted as a refund was not the actual amount I received. The IRS got the majority amount, however the amount they left me was not the amount that went to my bank. I called Liberty, they said they would have some one call me back. They did not. Every since the first time, the amount they said I would receive was the amount I received. The paper work matched what they said. This year was different, even Irs said they took 2013 taxes owed them and sent the rest to my bank. That amount was different.Desired SettlementI need to know why this year is different. I want my money.

Im here to file a complaint about my 2012 tax return that I had filed at liberty tax service. To Whom It May Concern, I would like to file a complaint against Liberty Tax Service located on 877 E. Gannon Ave. Zebulon NC, 27597 . I went to Liberty Tax Service to file my taxes, so the taxes was prepared and sent to IRS. I receive my refund. The beginning of this year IRS had sent me a letter stating that I owed money back. I called [redacted] at Liberty Tax Service and she told me to come to the office so we could look over the tax application that I had filed. When I got there she pulled my file and said I gave all the information that was needed. As she was looking over my file she said the mistake was made by the one that prepared my taxes. [redacted] told me that she would call her boss of Liberty Taxes and she would give me a call back, so she called me back and told me that she had talked to her boss and he told her to tell me the only thing that he could do was prepare my taxes for free this year and pay the interest that is owed on the past due amount, at that time when I had talked to [redacted] there wasn't no interest. I told her that I didn't want that, I want him to pay for their mistake and that is what the IRS says I owe. I shouldn't have to pay for it, because that is why I went to a professional so I wouldn't have this problem. Desired SettlementI would like for liberty tax service to pay for the balance that the IRS said that I had to pay concerning my 2012 taxes.

Review: Amended my taxes twice because of their own fault after I originally filed on January *, 2015. I did not receive a check until october, which was half the value is was supposed to be. They advertised that if you are not 100% satisfied, you will receive a refund of the tax filing fee. I have been in contact there with a woman named Jessica who is not resolving my issue. I have been waiting to have a meeting with the manager, who seems to never be at work. I need this problem resolved immediately in order to not take further action.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the full remaining value of my taxes as well as a refund of the tax filing fee.

Review: This office fraudulently charges for services not rendered and the fees are deducted directly from the tax return without the tax payers knowledge or consent. For example, I was charged $535 for my tax return which was basic but upon demanding an itemized invoice I realized that they charged me for several itemized and business deductions which do not even apply to me nor did they file for. Additionally, they strategically fail to provide a copy of the tax return and when I demanded a copy I was given one which was inaccurate. They also made several mistakes on my return for which it was rejected twice. Their fee is not justified and their practices are not only unethical but illegal. This fraudulent office should not have access to vital sensitive information such as social security numbers.Desired Settlement: I want my fee for the amount of $535 refunded to me for a lack of services rendered, a failure to adhere to a guarantee of accuracy and as restitution for money stolen from my tax return based on a fraudulent invoice.

Review: In August 2013 my husband and I walked into the Liberty Tax Service at [redacted] in the Bronx to have our 2011 and 2012 tax forms completed and mailed in to the IRS. We sat down with [redacted] an employee at Liberty Tax Service. [redacted], as she told us to call her, completed our tax forms for both years and we paid her $225.00 in cash for the service. She then checked the system and discovered that there was a lien against our refund. [redacted] told us to call when we had the lien removed and they would then mail in our returns. On October [redacted] 2013 I returned to Liberty taxes and asked [redacted] to send in our tax forms. She needed a tax ID number for my daughters school. She gave me her cell number and told me to text it to her and she would send it out that day. I text the information to her and she responded that she got it and was sending it out. Three months later we still did not receive our refund. I returned to Liberty Tax service once again on January [redacted] 2014 and was told by her that all she could do is resend it certified mail.On February [redacted] 2014 I spoke with the IRS and was told that they never received the tax forms. I returned to Liberty Tax service once again on that day and ask to speak with the owner. [redacted] is the name the owner gave me. I explained what happened with our taxes and asked for a refund. He sat me down with [redacted] and had her reprint a copy of my returns. [redacted] began to tell me about an investigation by the IRS of missing returns and that she believes ours was a part of that batch. I told [redacted] that we were displeased with their services and would like a refund he offered to do our 2013 taxes for free. I told him that I did not want them to do our taxes for this year. I again asked him for a refund. He then stated that he had to have proof that I paid for the services. [redacted] showed him a copy of the receipt she gave us. He then accused me and her of lying and refused to give me a refund. I told him that I would be filing a compliant and he said he would be doing an investigation.Once I returned home [redacted] call me and offered an apology for here part in not send out our taxes in a timely fashion.

Review: I am writing in regards to the practices of Liberty tax service located at [redacted]. The office manager is [redacted]. They had ran a promotional in which you sign up with them and receive 50$, and if you refer a NEW friend you can get $50. I had joined the recruiters out side the store and referred several people, however Liberty tax services refused to pay me for the referrals. I had even helped several people in the office sign up. The other referrers in the office were paid on the spot, however I was told that the "System was down" and to wait. They also refused to give me a receipt, and said that all I needed was the name. I had came back twice and was told to come back on Monday, 1/*/15. I did so and was told that due to offsets we will not be able to pay you. So I referred another guy, [redacted] and they took his $50 and split it with me. The second guy I referred today was told the same because he didn't have "Pay stubs", however the guy was a military veteran and he just came home from prison and was struggling, I did not want to split his money so I just told him to keep it all, and that the company owes me my $50 and I demanded payment. They refused stating that it's a "New Policy" starting right now to only give $25 to those without pay stubs. As such I would like to file a complaint for breach of contract, and making up non-sense policies in order to not pay me.Desired Settlement: pay me the money owed, I understand not paying me for one or two, but out of 5 people being referred 3 of them you won't pay me for, and 2 you get me to "Split" their money, in order to "help me out" that is ridiculous. Just because you scammed me doesn't mean I'm going to go around scamming other people.

Review: On Satuarday, February **, 2015, I went to Liberty Tax Service located at [redacted]. While I waited for a perparer, I was asked to fill out a form which asked for all of my pertinent information including Bank Routing Numbers. I was then advised that I needed my SS Card, which I've never needed before. The fact that they were INSISTANT on having my original SS Card, along with their CASH ONLY payment policy made me uncomfortable. So when I tried to leave with MY documents, a women from their staff physically stopped me from leaving. She started yelling at me and became very aggressive. She told me that she would have to keep some of the paperwork, as it was thier property. She TOSSED my W-2, 1099 and copy of ID at me, but unfortunatley, she kept the form I filled out. On Monday, February **, 2015, I sent an email to the firm's corporate office and respectfully requested that they please reply and confirm that the page and envelope which contained all of my pertinent information was destroyed & disposed of, and advise of the manner in which this was done. To date, I have not received a reply or acknowledgment from this firm.In this day and age of Identiy Theft, I request the assistance of the Revdex.com in getting a reply\confirmation from this firm. Thank you,Desired Settlement: A reply\confirmation in writting (email or US mail) that my information was destroyed and the manner in which this was done.

I ca mm imagine all the other clients, I want at least half back if you can help me please.Desired Settlement: To get half the money back, please

Review: Greetings,

My name is [redacted]. I am filing a complaint against Liberty Tax because they misrepresented themselves in terms of how my taxes would be filed by them.

I went to Liberty Tax as a first time customer primarily because they are located directly across from my place of residence. I was filing both my 2014 and 2015 returns. Throughout their office, including at the very front of the office, they have an advertisement stating you can request a $750.00 advance on your return which as it turns out, unbeknownst to me at the time of filing, is essentially a loan, and the rest is deposited to your account when the remaining balance of your tax return comes in. I opted to request the "advance" as stated to me, on my 2015 return once they spoke to me about it. I was told I would receive it in 24/48 hours. Further more, it was to be deposited to my account. I received a call that evening from Liberty Tax informing me they processed my forms and I would be hearing from them shortly regarding my advance.

I contacted Liberty Tax this morning to inquire about the status of my advance as we were almost one week in from the time I filed. I was first told I had to wait 21 days for my return to come in. I informed them I was supposed to of had $750.00 deposited to my account by way of an advance. It was then that I was told "if you didn't get an email from us then you weren't approved". I questioned why would I need to be approved, and in response was told. "because the advance was based on a "loan application". At no time was I informed of this when I was going through the process of filing my taxes. To make matters worse, I was informed that they charged me $700.00 to file my taxes. This is ludicrous, and criminal. If I were someone being audited by the IRS, I would pay $700.00 for a CPA and Attorney to review my files, but to pay my taxes, never would I pay that amount. I have been out of work since September of 2015 due to an injury I sustained at work. I am in no position to give away $700.00 to people whom are clearly misrepresenting themselves, and literally stealing from their customers.

I Googled "Liberty Tax" and came across multiple negative reviews regarding the same situation. Numerous New York City tax payers have taken to the internet to post reviews warning people to avoid filing with this company because of their "suspect dealings". Several people claimed they were charged as much as $900.00 to file their taxes, but were not informed of this until they either picked up their income tax checks, or had the amount deposited to their accounts. One dissatisfied customer stated they informed him he would be charged $150.00, but was actually charged $600.00 Upon further reviews, I found a class action law suit was filed against this company, and a settlement was reached in 2015 where Liberty Tax had to pay out a large amount of monies to former customers.

It is my belief this company should be investigated further, and be held accountable for their less than desirable practices. It should also be noted that I was not allowed to itemize my expenses. I have always, throughout the years claimed my work expenses. As a professional makeup artist , I make numerous purchases for tools, travel expenses, uniform cost etc.

It is my hope that you will look into their lack luster conduct, and what I deem to be illegal actions. Awaiting your response I thank you.
