The plan I have is supposed to be 1g download and upload speed but the fastest download speed I get is 130mb.

My Century Link phone service went out Wednesday morning, November 21, 2019.
As of today, Tuesday November 26, I have NO phone service. After contacting Century Link today, I was told that maybe this Friday, November 29 at 11:pm it will be reconnected. I seriously doubt this, as I have been "promised" reconnection over the last week and nothing happens!

Called to cancel today to be told that I would be charged for another month starting from this date even though I moved 3 weeks ago and have not used services since the move. I don't mind paying for the past even though I have not used the service, what is frustrating to me is that I will be charged an additional month because my "billing date" was yesterday and they do not prorate. Supposedly they have Unifying Principles – fairness, honesty and integrity, commitment to excellence, positive attitude, respect, faith and perseverance. I experienced none of these from this company. Seems like a monopoly only focused on squeezing as much money out of customers as possible. Stay away.

Worst customer service ever. I've been a customer for 18yrs. My phone line is constantly plagued with static. They are the only provider in my area. So I'm stuck paying them money as I have no other options. Cellphone service in my area is too spotty. If my cellphone had better service I'd drop CenturyLink tomorrow.

Century link is not providing us the service that was agreed upon. It's been 3 days without internet service. Today we received a text stating that their service is back on and that's not the truth. We are unable to connect through Century link. What we need is a class-action lawsuit against Century Link. They should reimburse all their customers their money back. And reconnect them with another provider paying up to the first 3 months for the inconvenience.

Was sent to collections over the a bill that was taken care of twice! Both times the rep told me that they received the boxes and my account will be at a zero balance. Now 7 months later I received a letter from collection wanting to collect 319.50. Called century link and they can’t find anywhere that I returned equipment or talked to a rep about removing charges! Why would I want to keep unusable boxes that cost that much?! Of course I sent them back! Unreal! Beware of this company and the hoops they make you jump through!

This place is the worst company ever I was without internet for my business close to a month or more they lazily place my internet connection cord on the ground where the mowers would run over it I canceled my service and still got charged for 28 days of service I did not use they did not care that it was the holidays and that I needed time to pay them for 28 days of service I did not use they promised there internet was good for streaming it wasn’t at all

I have tried to cancel my service with Century Link but they are making it very difficult. Terrible Company to deal with.

I have had centurylink fiber internet in my home for 7 months. Centurylink has still not come out to burry the fiber line in the back yard. I understand that they need to send someone out to draw up plans for the city to approve but this happened months ago and they still will not come out to burry the line. I live in Utah and its November, we will get snow soon and I will be waiting until spring to get the line buried if they don't come soon. Which means I will have waited nearly 1 year for centurylink to come burry the fiber in my back yard. I have called their customer service department at least 4 times and each time I call the customer service representative states that they can see that my request has been outstanding for a long period of time and they will "escalate" my request so it gets addressed quickly. Each time they assure me that I will get a call in 24-48 hours to resolve the issue. Each time they never call. At this point a lose cable outside laying on the grass is becoming a safety concern. Avoid Centurylink if you are looking for internet. The prices can be nice but the service is horrible in my experience.

-10 stars! Scheduled an install on the 29th of October at our cabin (Unfortunately CenturyStink is our only option for internet). Took the day off work, drove the two hours to be at the cabin between their time window of 8-5pm (we kill the heat and drain the water when we leave. It just happened to be in the twenties that day up there. Takes about 10 hours to get the cabin up to 65). So there I am huddled in a blanket waiting, and waiting... 12:30 rolls around and I give them a call to confirm the appointment. They say the tech is at a job and will be on his way to my place soon. So I wait some more, and more, then wait a little more... 4:30 rolls around, no notification or anything. I call them and they tell me the job they had been at ran long and they wouldn't be able to make up that day, but they would be back in the morning. So sorry, doesn't work that way. Can't take another day off to work. Fast forward through lots of frustrating calls. I tell them to just have the tech install the outside line to their equipment (We don't have any phone lines inside the cabin) and leave the cable coiled up and I would finish the install. I get notified on Oct 31st the the job had started. two minutes later I get notified that the job was complete. Hmmm, That was fast! Turns out the tech just coiled up the cable and left it wrapped around the front door knob. :( The real kicker is his notes said that everything was up and running. My service apparently had started and a few days later I received my first bill. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS COMPANY!

I live in rural Pierce Co. Century link is my only option for internet and they know it. I cant upgrade because there isn't anything to upgrade to. Century link says they provide speeds up to 1.5mb but in the 12 years I have been unfortunate enough to have this service its NEVER been up to what they say. In all these years they have not improved there service and they don't have to because no other company is out there in the area, One star is a joke. We are so frustrated with Century Link and the complete lack of service and have considered going to *** but its still a little cost prohibitive. I know I'm not the only one with experience since just this thread alone has 1094 complaints. In another zip code I saw over 7000 complaints I guess that shows exactly what they think of the customer.

I had called back in October to cancel service with them because the cost of their services went up by $300 a month more than what I signed up for in the first year. I was told by their representative that there would be no cancellation cost or fees to cancel the account on a recorded line. 2 weeks later I received a bill for $2,184.64. I then called them back to discuss and they said that even though the rep told me that it doesn't matter that they verified that the previous rep told me that. They insist that no matter what their representatives tell you that it doesn't matter. Please don't even get me started on what it was like signing up with them.

My small business phone has been out for 3 days and it is costing me thousands of dollars and Century Link doesn't give a ***. They are a monopoly and can treat their customers like crap because we have no other options. Patients can't call to make appointments, they can't access their health records, they can't contact us for anything over the phone so some have been coming into the office and issuing LOUD, angry complaints. We are still having to pay salaries for another doctor and 4 office staff members whether we bring in a penny that day or not, let alone take home money to feed our own family. Bills don't stop.
We contacted CL immediately and got a repair ticket for that day between 3-7 pm. (Even though we close at 6.) At 2, the tech texted that he would be there in 1/2 hour. One hour later, I called to see where he was. The repair ticket had been CANCELLED! He says he got to the building and the IT room was locked so he left. He never contacted us, nor the building staff, maintenance or managers who were all on site. He just left. CL didn't even have the courtesy to let us know it was cancelled!!! So, I called back and the best they can do is send someone on SUNDAY - a day we are closed. But, we will come in because we HAVE TO! Why couldn't they send that same tech back out since we were still within the set time frame?
Needless to say, I am livid. I am losing THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS and I have been ignored by a huge entity that has control over my life. This is wrong. I know this complaint won't make a difference to anything, but beware. This business is horrible and heartless. They should have more repair techs available. A business going without phones for 4 days is inexcusable in the year 2019. Shameful!

I wish I could give zero stars.

I signed up for internet 4 weeks ago and was told I didn't need a modem.
Then I moved into my new home and they said I did, so I had to spend $100.
I ordered the modem through CenturyLink and waited 3 days but it never came.
I called back and reordered it; they said the order was lost. I reordered.
Three days later the modem came but didn't work. After 1.5hrs with tech support they told me to wait 2 days for a tech visit.
The tech showed up 7 hours late (at 7:20pm not "before" 12:15PM) and couldn't solve the problem.
Now I don't have internet and nobody at CenturyLink can explain what they will do to fix it.

Another horror story of dealing with the worst company in the history of the universe, centurylink. Giving 1 star is painful, should be minus 10 stars! After ordering, they were unable to connect internet after many hours so I cancelled. NEVER HAD SERVICE! Apparently they don't like that. Months later, I was sent a bill for not only service but the equipment. Hours of phone calls with the most pathetic customer service reps, I proved they received the equipment from ups. Apparently they don't like that either. A year later, without notice to me, I got a bill from a collection agency for the $110 equipment. Sent the same evidence to them and a year later, guess what, same thing from a different agency and then a different agency. This has been going on for almost 4 years. Centurylink should be forced out of business. They serve no one but stockholders. They lie, cheat, steal, overcharge and underperform. Centurylink just sucks!

I had CenturyLink for many years without a problem then I moved and had to change my ISP that’s when I started having problems. At the end of August of 2019 I canceled my service and closed my account. I have a refund of $25.67 owed to me so I waited for the check but it never came, then I called CenturyLink and inquired why it hadn’t arrived, their explanation was that I didn’t close my account. But I did. I was told I would receive it in 7-10 business days, never arrived. Back on the phone. Next representative didn’t know what happened but assured me they would get it out right away and I wouldn’t get it in 7-10 business days. Nope, never showed up so I called them today, Oct 21, and was told that that the had to put it on a temporary discontinued status and after a period of time it would fall into a permanent discontinued status which, lucky me, just happened today so they can generate a check and get it to me in 2-3 weeks. I don’t trust or believe anything these people say to me it looks like they just wanted more time between phone calls from. I would call these representatives unfit to work but I actually think this is CenturyLink’s model.

I wish there was a no star option.
I have canceled with them for times in the last 4 months. They offer a cancelation confirmation number but do not save it on their end, so it is 100% useless. Now after canceling and having those confirmations 4 times they are threatening to send us to collections, but after being transferred to 6 different departments they all say I have no past due balance.
I am to the point of getting a lawyer involved.
They are a horrible business and should not even be allowed to operate.

Centurylink doesn’t even deserve the 1 Star... so dumb me forgot to pay my bill (life got busy) Wednesday night my service was disconnected (oct.16th.2019) so I call the following morning and pay my bill and I was told services would be restored within 20 minutes of payment.. ok so that made me happy. so my *** decided to listen to the direct tv bundle pitch from the sales associate well 45 minutes later after offering me the stars and moon to switch from dish to direct tv I politely declined.. immediately the mans attitude changed and he told me services would be turned on tomorrow and hung up. So I call back and talk to 2 different ppl and I’m told the same thing blah blah blah apology apology. Next morning comes (Friday.oct.18th.2019) no internet so I call again and I’m told by end of business day. (Blood pressure is starting to go up) so it’s almost end of “business” day and no internet still. So I call again and I’m told “we have by the end of today oct 18th to turn it back on by 12am and your services will be on for sure when u wake up” well guesss whaaat? I woke up today and my services are disconnected and the call center is closed. So I go on to the centurylink chat and after a few messages of voicing my frustration I get a message back saying my internet will be back on 10/22/19. So it started at 20 minutes after I paid the bill my internet services would be restored. Broken promise after broken promises later I’m now pushed out to 10/22/19. I have never worked with a worse company then centurylink. I really feel like I’m being treated this way bcuz I turned down the triple play package and would not switch over to direct tv. Rant over.

Don't Get CenturyLink. While I had, I will say I loved it. But then when your contract is up it's practically 200 dollars. If you can afford that, stay with them. I know I can't. We're getting internet from another company and getting live TV. Which is about 70 bucks cheaper. So our total is about 120. And no boxes except for the internet. Also, if you pay and disconnect before your contract is up with CenturyLink, don't plan on getting a reimbursement for what wasn't used. The only state that gets that is Arizona, which is where their corporate office is. So if you don't care about what your owed then go with CenturyLink. I loved the Prisim but *** bought that part and I don't like *** (which is a whole other story). Customer service is ok but sometimes hard to understand who your talking to. They have very strong accents. I would of stayed if I could have had for the same price I'm paying now and didn't have to worry about contracts. Which now I don't. Good luck with whatever you decide but I would say stay away from CenturyLink.

I ordered a 5 upload speed on my internet after 2 years of waiting and paying $60 per month on internet I never got. I complained but they did nothing and raised my rates!!! I paid way to much for the service and finally found another company which gave me what I wanted. Century Link doesnt know what any of their employees are doing . I spent days on the phone with them and they still couldnt get it right. I feel that they took advantage of me.
