Worst rental company ever!
Our plumbing is constantly backing up and Mainstreet Renewal refuses to fix the issue. We can not use water without sewage backing up into our home and due to uninhabitable conditions I have requested lease termination and the company refuses to respond to me about it so now I am forced to hire an attorney.

Don't rent from msr renewal!!!
Terrible service, basement flooded, roof leaked, mold, fence broken , took 4 months to "fix" flooded basement and now it's flooded again, no accountability, no one is responsible for anything, worst maintenance dept ever, scheduled with vendors that aren't even in our state; wasted so much of our time calling, texting,emailing ,waiting for noone to show up to service appts, do not rent from them they are terrible!

Application
I have been trying to reach a leasing agent in Louisville ky, I recently filled out an application and was wondering if I didn’t meet the credit expectations would it still be a chance mainstreet would approve my application. I meet the other requirements but ran into a hardship in the past and been trying to rebuild, me an my 4 kids really need a place to move to and I’m scared I might be denied because of credit. I have the income and ready to pay the deposit and first month rent I don’t even mind paying 2 months rent as a deposit plus my current rent. Do they work with individuals in my situation. I really would like to discuss my options plus I have worked 2 years but the job I’m currently at only been there 9 months so I don’t want them to think I have not worked. It’s really hard trying to get in touch with a leasing agent

Worst company ever and even worse communication
If you like to waste your time- use this company
If you enjoy getting lied to- use this company
If you like throwing your money away- use this company
If you like placing 10 phone calls in a week and never get a response- use this company
If you enjoy sending tons of emails requesting help and get not a single response- use this company
If you want the worst rental experience of your life- use this company

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
If I could give this company a NEWGATIVE amount of stars I would. This has literally been the absolute WORST rental company I have EVER dealt with. Maintenance is horrible, company response time is horrible, customer service, well lack there of is HORRIBLE.
I have only been in my rental hoe going on 7 months, and since day ONE I have had to have had to have maintenance come out at least once a month. You put in a maintenance request, does not get completed, if it ever does get thoroughly completed for at least 2 to 3 weeks MINIMUM from the time requested. Customer service is not even based in the U..S, every single person you speak to could absolutely care less what time of issues you have going on with your home. I put in a request for 2 leaking pipes for the THIRD time over 2 weeks ago, only to receive an email stating that someone would be scheduled to come out almost 1 month after putting in the request. There have been fees added to my ledger for things I do not even owe on, there were HOA violations added to my account, but Mainstreet never even gave us the HOA policies and regulations, I had to find the supervisor for my HOA and ask for these things on my own.
I have been hung up on by people in "customer service", I have been denied access to speaking with supervisors/managers for pressing issues. If I could pick up and move every single thing out of my house somewhere else w/o such a hassle to my personal day to day, I would have packed up 5 months ago. MAINSTREET RENEWAL IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST! AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF POSSIBLE!

WE REGRET MOVING IN!
DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY!
I would give zero stars if possible. This is by far the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any rental company or landlord situation in my life. I understand that sometimes it takes time to repair or replace things in a rental home, but communication is ZERO with these people and they DO NOT CARE about their tenants. Upon move-in on 2/1/23, our home was NOT move-in ready. Our refrigerator was broken, our dishwasher leaking, house not cable-ready and NO KEYS, only a crappy "smart lock" with half-dead batteries that only works every other time you use it. We immediately submitted maintenance requests, which turned out to be pointless, because it does not matter how many times you submit a request or call them, THEY DON'T CARE. They will give you some bunk response about how they're "Sorry for your experience" and they're "escalating this situation," or "sending an email to scheduling," and those are all lies. I'm sure they will respond with the same empty response to this review, because apparently they have the time to respond to reviews but not to schedule service technicians for the people who are paying them. I'm sure the poor people who answer the phones in the Philippines don't deserve my anger, but there is no direct line to contact someone who DOES deserve it. This place is despicable and we regret moving here without doing more research first.

Poor maintenance
This place is a joke. I should have did reviews before renting from them. The biggest issue is getting maintenance repairs/issues done in an orderly manner.
It's been 3 months and it stills smells like feces in our master bedroom bathroom. We will be seeking legal assistance to resolve this matter. I caution anyone from doing business with them.

Naw, not the one
Bogus charges on bill and the “billing department” doesn’t have a phone number to handle conversations or transactions. Their “billing department” is an outsourced group of ragtag individuals who speak fairly strangely (a fact they leverage against you!) and give you the run around. Under the guise of vetting you are who you say you are or under the guise that your phone isn’t coming through clearly (possibly because maybe they’re in India) they waste your time dealing with non pertinent issues all to say they “made a note” or “escalated the issue”. I’ve recorded all conversations for bogus charges of about $550 and will update after court proceedings. They will ruin your renter history with bogus charges unless you pay them. If you don’t pay it there is also $100 late fees assessed to your account that they may or may not waive.. until the NEXT MONTH WHEN YOU GET ANOTHER ONE.

I have family who also rents from them and they got bogus charges as well that got removed. Shady things are happening here. Use caution, yeah it’s hard finding a home but don’t inherit a headache if you’ve read this. You got warned.
Also maintenance is lack luster, gutters fell and got put back sloppily, not even replaced, and as they did they sealed in a LOT of moisture and now we smell mold whenever coming home or first turning on the central air or heat. Ugh

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! We had a water heater that busted in our basement and has been flooding our entire basement. I have tried calling them several times to get someone to come out and replace the water heater but 24 hours later still have not heard anything back from them. We have been without hot water for over 24 hours and the basement is continuing to flood. They want me to file a claim on my renters insurance for the contents that have been affected but I told them I would not be doing that. Why should I have to file a claim because of their negligence? Why can't a management company find a plumber right away instead of making their tenants wait? When we first moved in, they left us without water at all for the first 2 days we were in the house because they didn't turn it on before our move in date. The management is horrible and this company should not be in business at all! I also offered to have a plumber and a restoration company come handle it but they said if I do that that it would not be reimbursed. So they would rather have their house flooding for 2 or 3 days rather than having an outside vendor help with the situation. I also run a restoration company and could have had the water damage taken care of as well but they would not allow it. If you rent from this company, be prepared for some headaches if anything goes wrong with the house because they will NOT fix it in a timely manner.

I am literally in the same exact situation with them but with an active sewer line leaking and caving the ceiling in…has there been update or resolution from them on you matter and If so how long did it take?what was the outcome I literally just want to call an attonery and file a suit I have small children in my home along with being pregnant and this is causing me huge distress

We have moved 2 months ago and have had nothing but problems since. Today a pipe fell from the basement ceiling and water has been pouring out everywhere. Now have to file a claim. I am pretty nervous about the outcome. I wish I would have looked into reviews on this company. So sorry that happened to you

Do not rent from here
If I could give 0 stars I would have. Let me just start off by saying if you are someone who is using a voucher PLEASE do not believe Main Street when they advertise equal opportunity housing for people as such. I’ve been with Main Street for 2 1/2 years and it has been complete HELL this entire time. The way they treat you based off of you being a voucher holder is so disgusting and they ultimately need to stop advertising that they take vouchers because their department that handles vouchers holders WILL NEVER, I REPEAT NEVER communicate with you at all. Anyone who is a voucher holder knows there are times when rental increases needs to be filled out, when renewals need to filled out, inspections need to be done and repairs need to be handled. Main Street has a department called housing assistance for its voucher holders that can only be reached through email, and they NEVER RESPOND. I am now owing main street 6,585 because In April they needed to fill out another RTA DUE TO ME LOSING MY VOUCHER BECAUSE THEY FAILED TO NOTIFY MY HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE FIXES THEY COMPLETED AFTER THE HOME FAILED INSPECTION. Anyone who is on assistance knows how time sensitive these type of things are and if it doesn’t get done you’ll be fully responsible for the full amount. Main Street was called multiple times and emailed multiple times in may of me begging them to complete the RTA I emailed to them multiple times So payment can resumed and they ignored me and failed to do it. The only way to get main streets attention is to send out grand emails with multiple people attached , then they will respond. After the grand email I was told they can’t fill my RTA unless I pay the 6,585 ? This balance is ONLY DUE TO THEM NOT COMPLETING PAPERWORK THAT THEY NEEDED TO FILL OUT SINCE MAY, THIS BALANCE IS ONLY BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T CALL AND TELL MY HOUSING AUTHORITY REPAIRS WERE FIXED IN FEBRUARY.

HEADS UP TO ANYONE WITH A VOUCHER, MAIN STREET DOES NOT WANT YOU HERE . They will purposely screw you over, fail to fill out timely sensitive paperwork and push you out from renting here. I have multiple emails proving the discrimination against me being a voucher holder.

Heads up to anyone not with a voucher here or considering Main Street , they are a terrible company to rent with as you can see by the multiple reviews.

Please understand it took vulnerability to even post this but I’m sure it’s been many other people like me that has been dealing with main streets negligence and I’ve been dealing with being hung up on, rudely spoken to and now set up for a high balance that could’ve been avoided. I have had enough and will now be seeking legal action and I advise anyone who reads this and has experienced unfair treatment from main street please seek legal action. They have to pay for the unjust and completely uncalled for treatment against their tenants. The judge for me and my situation will have the last say. I wish the same for you all as I’ve read the reviews.

YOUNG RENTERS BEWARE
My two daughters and their friend, just signed a lease with this company. It is my belief that they have been scammed by a fraudulent home leasing company.

Their friend received a job offer from a prominent racing team after graduating from college.
My two daughters decided to move down with him.
They settled on a home rental in Statesville, paying all deposits per lease and received a move in date of June 17th.
Upon arrival, we discovered the air conditioner was broken, no hot water, no running water in guest shower/tub, a broken closet door, a broken dishwasher, and living room window that does not stay open, and an infestation of ants in kitchen due to large gap between the floor and the door of the kitchen. We are unable to speak or meet with a property manager. Any phone calls to a “direct line” are diverted to a main call center, where no one answers. No one is responding to our calls or our emails.
Their friend started his job and flew out of town today. My daughters and I have been staying in a local hotel due to the fact they have pets. This has been devastating to three young people looking forward to a wonderful future.

MS is a complete JOKE!!!
3 weeks later and my leak in the shower is still leaking because of the CHEAP hardware they insist on using on everything... My shower leaks 2.5 gallons of hot water every 15 minutes...Their solution wait another week or just turn off your FAMILYS H2O, they will raise your rent every year, they are seriously a JOKE of company! This is 1of many issues with MS and we are in a brand-new house! They want more money and give less service!

Bad experience with Main Street Renewal
My 87 year old elderly Father is a backyard neighbor to a residential home tenant of Main Street Renewal. Winds blew down the fence between the properties about a year ago and the tenant and I have been going round and round with MSR for months! We get nothing but excuses at every turn. The tenant has dogs and we're worried about safety. Left no choice, my father is now burdened with the cost of replacing the fence entirely on his own. MSR was able to delay and delay until eventually we had to take action. What a repulsive business model.

Horrible Company and Scammers
The home I live in was sold to them by the previous management company and they do not care about anything but getting your money and keeping your deposit. You cannot speak to a manager, or any department that handles the property other than people who merely answer phones. Its like they have been given a script to go by and they are not licensed agents, they do not. I have had utilities suspended because they are not paying the bills but they collect money from me every month on time for rent and utilities. The utility anounts are random and seem to be made up and they will not provide invoices to show what you are paying. They will add late fees on your account when there was nothing late. When you try and speak to billing, utilities, or any department for that matter, no one ever calls you back and you get a call center every time you try and call them to resolve a problem. None of the people answering phones can help take care of an issue or have the ability or power to do anything other than answer phones and send out an email which is what they tell you if you try and speak to anyone in their accounting or utility departments or any department they claim to have. They will actually tell you that those departments do not speak to you over the phone. You can only email them and hope someone emails back but even when they do, they still wont resolve anything. You just keep going in circles. All they do is send out emails to random departments of the company and the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing. No communication and they do not care about you as a renter. I do not know how this company is still in business based on all the horrible reviews they have online but I will be taking them to court. Maybe they will respond to that and hopefully I can get them served because at this point I don't even believe they have an office you can go to directly. The office in my areas says it's closed but I will be taking a drive there personally to find out if it is legit to begin with. I do believe this is a scam for a company and they are operating solely to scam money from anyone who qualified to rent with them and they do not give any detail on what their requirements are for an approval. It does give a vague statement on their website but nothing is detailed as far as what they actually look for to lease one of their properties. I intend to turn over every rock I find because what they are doing is not legal. I think this company is intentionally making sure you never get to anyone who makes decisions.

Starting to think they are slim lords
They purchased the house I am renting from the previuos landlord in July 2021. The 1st month they over charged me 320$, and Ive been told several times by their collections dept its geting removed in 7 days and nothing happens. Here we are 5 months later still having an issue. They send an A/C guy out to troubleshoot the A/C and he takes my 300$ nest thermostat and puts in 20$ replacement. Everytime I call to get it resolved they tell me its been escalated.. For three months! I just want my thermostat put back and this charge removed. Is it realy that difficult that I have to call over a dozen times in 5 months and still get a different answer every time.

Section 8 renter
I would like to know is MSR Company good to rent a house for 20 years or more I am on Section 8 and have voucher for 5 bedrooms but I don’t want to get a home and live there a year and when coming up for renewal MSR is selling the house? I need to know if I will have or could have a future with this property management rental company? Thank you

If I could rate Mainstreet Renewal a ZERO I would; this is the worst property management company of all time!
My family and I have been living in this property since April 2019. Since May of 2019 I have been putting in maintenance request for them to fix the air conditioning in the home and still to this day September 2021 nothing has been fixed. I have paid my rent every single month on time even through the pandemic. And still I can never get resolution to the AC situation. Its not fair to my family and myself that we have to live in a furnace. The heat inside the house is usually above 90 degrees. The humidity in the house is so bad that the rooms are now creating mold on the ceilings. There is also a strange sewage smell coming from the pipes. Mainstreet is no help at all. Mainstreet just keeps giving me the run around and nothing has been resolved in over 2 plus years. All they care about is their rent money. I've tried contacting headquarters and customer service and residents care in regards to the issue but still no resolution.

Neighbor of Main Street Renewal property
I live across the street from one of Main Street property only supposed to be five people in the house. Two adults and three children it now has five adults and eight children living in the home. The grass yes 3 feet tall piles of trash in the front yard animals climbing into the trash at night and spreading it all over the neighborhood. Called Main Street they don't care if they destroy the property values in my neighborhood. My only recourse is to get an attorney involved this company is a slumlord Company.

The worse experience of my life! Moved in 07/09/2020. House was filthy. Sent them 40 photos of the filth. Have been asking for a refund since then and they just denied my refund today as I moved out of the house and refused to renew my lease. The house is falling apart and not worth $1800 a month. They are a rip off and have no CARE in the world. Just take this as a warning. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS Company! You will regret it immediately as we did, but was stuck in a contract for a year. They keep peoples deposits and do not even fix the place up. The walls were never painted, the floors had stains, oven and fridge was never cleaned, all cabinets and drawers in bathrooms and kitchen were full up food and junk and even a needle. I was furious upon moving into the home.

If you are a property manager looking for a Property management organization...PLEASE DO NOT UTILIZE THIS ONE if you generally care about your tenants.
Their poor customer service precedes the 2020 pandemic. Unfortunately BBB ratings are not affected by customer reviews. However, you can also file a complaint with HUD if need be. Poor customer service, Humiliating maintenance responses, and overall disrespect for their tenants time and Money.
Research their Lawsuit cases in your state before doing business with this organization.
