Marketplace Homes Reviews (%countItem)

HelloThese tenants signed up for this lease sight unseen, and when they arrived and this home needed many repairs, Marketplace Homes agreed and got with the actual owner of the property in making all of the necessary repairs immediately The tenants were told immediately that they would not
be charged any rent (we would pro-rate and reimburse) from day of their lease until it was confirmed that the repairs were made The main issue, with a broken water valve, was addressed by the owner of the property right away That being said, there were still other necessary repairs that we agreed with the tenant on, and did state all rent would be pro-rated back until we knew they were done After repairs were being made, the tenants told a member of our Marketplace Homes Team that they wanted to move out and did not like the area That is not a valid excuse for breaking a lease Per the tenant's signed Lease Agreement with Marketplace Homes, there is an early lease break fee of months rent Marketplace Homes' proposed offer is to charge the tenant months of rent + the $application fee (totaling $1,950), and refund all other fees and the other pre-paid rent If the tenants are in agreement, we will process and refund immediately. Please keep us posted We truly feel that with us offering to pro-rate all rent from the time that they started the lease until when the repairs were completed, we are offering a fair solution We look forward to hearing if this is accepted and we can all move forward

We are sorry to hear about this situation and certainly care about the well being of your family and you. Our team was surprised that you posted online as our property manager and leasing representative have been in touch and working on the situation. Upon hearing that the home was
dirty, they immediately arranged to have the home cleaned and the owner agreed. After the cleaning, it became more clear that it might be more than just dirt and could possibly be mold. They set up an inspection to determine if the home, in fact, has mold and even through that inspection has not been completed, the owner is willing to offer the following;1) To make sure any possible mold is fully mitigated by a licensed contractor if you wish to stay in the home.2) If you do not wish to stay in the home, the owner will refund any funds paid. All we would ask for in return is that you agree to a couple things;1) You mentioned online posts about our team. We ask you to read the positive reviews about our company online. We have a star rating on google and on zillow. You even referenced in emails to our team that you had been happy with the service of our staff, just not the property. We ask that you separate the property and the service our team provides. We are all sensitive to your situation.2) Mold is BOTH the tenant and owner's job to help mitigate. In fact, if a tenant is slow to notify a landlord of mold, the tenant can be liable (not the case here and we appreciate the quick notification). In this case, the landlord is taking prompt action to mitigate the damages but it is both the landlord and tenant's job to work together, not just the owner. We hope that one of the options above helps to solve your situation and we really feel bad that the home you moved into did not work out.Regards,*** ***CEO

I'm a property owner whose property is rented out and managed by Marketplace Homes (MPH)Their customer service has been horrible - requests that I've submitted have not been handled appropriatelyFor example, I submitted request for the door to be painted on March and it wasn't confirmed as completed until June 19th and I had to remind/ask for things to be done several times in those monthsThankfully, that and other issues of not getting rent paid to me for a couple of months have been addressed several months later with many requests for resolution by myselfBut, I have been ignored multiple times by multiple people regarding money that is due to meI've been patient and it doesn't seem like MPH has any intention to address things appropriatelyBefore I go into detail on this issue, I also want to note that on June 21st, I notified MPH of an additional fine of $and I have not received a responseNow for the large issue at hand - the renter was not maintaining yard ap

Its been great working with Edda O'Brien - Home Marketing Concierge at Marketplace Homes I am a professional photographer and Edda contacted me about taking some photos of client homes in my area Communication was easy and quick when I needed to contact her regarding details and I am impressed with their professional advertising presentation of client's homes on their website

I had an absolutely horrible experience with Marketplace HomesI did not have a realtor so the builder directed me to Marketplace HomesThe Marketplace Homes representative was all chummy with me prior to receiving his commission checkOnce the deal was completed, I never heard from him againI was given erroneous information which left me with an expectation that was absolutely misleadingBecause of his unprofessional demeanor, I had to take a four hundred dollar loss in my financesPlease get the agreement in writingThe company definitely did live up to its portrayed status stated on their websiteThere was absolutely nothing NUDE about the process that I enduredI definitely didn't win and Elegance?? Where was that? I was totally insulted by the representativeThe whole process was a great farce!!!!
"Totally Disappointed”

Incredible company that goes above and beyond to solve challenging situations creatively

One word: unprofessionalThe employees at this establishment do not communicate to one another or their superiorsI have contacted them on numerous occasions and, thereafter, they call me or send an email as if I had never contacted them at allMy advice if you rent from them would be to write down the name of the person you're speaking with and every word they sayNever have had a worse renting experience

years ago we bought a home from *** *** before selling our other house because they recommended Marketplace Homes as an option to manage our home and get it rented with no worries to me I had real-estate agent andI was told that *** *** could not pay her because they would pay that portion to Marketplace as their fee to manage our home The contract is for years guaranteed We decided to do it since it seemed like we didn't have to worry about renters or making sure we received our rent payments Once we had our first tenants, I asked *** from Marketplace if they could please not allow tenants to use our pool because people don't usually take care of pools especially if they don't know much about them or it belongs to someone else *** said he could not do that and after going back and forth with him, he finally agreed to at least get a pool service to open the pool properly for that year and close it properly These tenants had stayed in the house for years,

Company helped me rent investment properties that I own and has done a great job filling them fast Really surprisingly great photos and stagging for rental homes Supper sharp team

Pretty sure Marketplace Homes discriminates against military membersI was told my rental application was approved, but someone else's was approved for the same house at the same time They asked if I'd offer more rent or a longer lease and I said I'd pay more rent The other party offered a longer lease and got the house The manager made this decision without talking to me or to the ownerI am sure since they are guaranteeing the house to be leased for a particular time period they decided against the person who will have to move (me, the military member)
I hope the person they chose trashes the house and skips town without paying rent!

Me and my husband used this company to manage our townhouse property while we rented it outWe ended our relationship with them last year in October, They left a lock box on our front entrance railingWe have attempted multiple times to call the company and have this removedEvery time we call we cannot talk with anyone but a receptionist who states she will take a message and have someone that can help us get back to usNo one calls backThe lock box, which we cannot remove on our own, remains attached to the railingThey don't respond at all to our requests after many months of calling their officeThey should have removed the lock box when our contract ended months agoThis is extremely poor customer serviceIt is now affecting us financially as we want to sell the townhouse and will have to pay someone to remove it before the saleWe want the company to return our messages and remove their property, the lock box, from our townhouse property promptlyI do not reco

Absolutely appalling , lying, deceitful, dishonest, filthy companyI beg you NOT to do business with them

Mike's Mission Statement isn't even close to what it makes him out to be! I had a viewing at one of their properties on 9/I spoke with Kelly while in the property and told her that we were unable to view the Master Bathroom because it was shut tight and we didn't want to break it by trying harder to open itShe reached out to my roommate and I and by the following week 9/30, I stated that if the bathroom door was fixed and we can view it again, we would be interested in seeing it again as it was one of our choices to rentShe stated that she didn't know if it was but she did state that the order was put in Thursday (This is days after we told her)I was stunned by that pace of concern and I was stunned that she wasn't communicated with as to the status of the doorThere were other concerns that were not addressed eitherI finally reached out to "Mike Kalis" in hopes to not only let him know how this company was being conducted but to also find out some answers that we were not gettingI left him an email with my contact information on it and the concernsI received an emailNOT A CALLfrom Mike that read simply this "Lets agree to simply go seperate ways Sounds like you are best to find a different property" My response was "This is your response"Kelly accidently sent me a copy of what her response was to MikeI then asked Mike to give me a call and he didn't/couldn't make that call (This is a CEO of a company)!!!! He came back in an email "I'm sorry that the previous email should not have been sent But the decision to part ways is obviously mutually beneficial for all involved I consider this matter closed." WHO DOES THIS? This is being put on your website firstI do and will take the time to place it on other social media sites! Kelly, I said "lady" versus your name because I wasn't interested in getting anyone in trouble, but I was interested in getting some answers I hope this is a learning curve for you and the company Marketplace Homes!!!

I have delt with a horrible property manager for the past years I’ve been renting from Marketplace Homes named *** *** who lied about us not paying a security deposit to move inShe didn’t look at my lease & gave me misinformation when clearly I know I paid a depositShe said it was non-refundable & was never paid so I wouldn’t receive any money for move outMarketplace homes overcharged for damages which some didn’t even exist with no proof rhyme or reason.*** *** was rude & unapologetic in her dealings with the nature of my concernShe has be extremely Unresponsive & unprofessionalI have not been able to get her on the phone in the years since I’ve been rentingI’m still dealing with reconciling this misinformation & misunderstanding as we speak but I can’t let *** or Marketplaces homes get away with FRAUDThis isn’t the only thing I’ve dealt withThey send shady plumbers to break things so my water bill was $one month after their plumb

Please please please do not buy a house through Marketplace homes They are full of it First, they had the price of my house listed at $129, I offered full price and they counteroffered wanting $135, My real estate agent told them they don't conduct business like that so they accepted my offer Had all the inspections done to let them know what needed to be done Needless to say, they did nothing Made up a fictitious invoice saying they did things in the house that were not done They use unlicensed people to do their work for them Then they threatened me to take $of escrow to fix things in the house which all of my repairs equal to about $or they were going to put the house back on the market Please do not deal with them Cassie Ott is very nasty and a liar I don't see how they are in business Never came to take the lock box off the front door I advise anyone, if you are buying, selling, or renting a home, don't use Marketplace Homes

we've moved out of our residence which we rented with marketplace homes over days and have not received our security deposit after making numerous calls and inquiries no one has been able to give us an answer as to when you are why we have not received our security deposit back
