Matrix Home Solutions Reviews (%countItem)

I had a bathtub/shower installed in April 2017. The installer did not connect the drain and a large amount of water leaked into the ceiling of my downstairs family room. The ceiling had to be removed. They came out to fix it multiple times, which meant I needed to be home each time, and throughout the repair, they proceeded to damage my couches and coffee table & end tables by getting paint all over them. The company has promised to give me a partial refund. This process started in the summer of 2017. I have yet to receive $1 of the money that they have promised. I have email and texts from Jim Winski from the company and the story always changes. He's promised me it'll be "tomorrow" about 10 different times in the last 6 months. I've asked repeatedly for the owners contact information, but haven't been given that. I've contacted corporate twice with no resolution. I've tried to contact the number listed for the local offices, but no one answers or returns calls.

Terri,

We are very sorry this has happened. As discussed, Luxury Bathrooms didn't know an employee agreed to provided you with a refund were completely unaware of the issue. Once I found out about the issue I resolved the matter within a couple of days and have since confirmed you have received the promised refund. Unfortunately, if I would have known about this earlier I would have resolved the matter sooner and prevented any undue stress or negative reviews. I'm sorry this has happened and know the employee is no longer with our firm.

Feel free to email or call me with any questions.

Thanks

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I would not use this business in the future. If an owner does not know what their employees are doing, that is a problem. The owner approached me daily after posting reviews on Revdex.com, ***, and *** to remove my posts. Even offered to send me a gift card for a spa or dinner if I removed it. I did remove the posts (because I was sick of the texts and calls from him) but did not accept payment for doing that. I'm very glad to be done with this business.

Sincerely,

Terri

I am a real person that lives in Schaumburg that got hosed for 7000 dollars for a tub surround replacement. Sounds like a lot of money? I thought so too, but the estimator Carter insured me that *** / Matrix Bath process was worth it.
What Carter promised:
Tear everything out down to the studs
Address any issues behind the wall
Replace ALL plumbing so there are no issues after the remodel
High quality materials being used
Expert installers that do flawless work
A new shower curtain rod
What actually happened:
-Cut a small hole in the wall at the valve so they wouldn't have to do a full demolition
-Only replaced the plumbing at the valve
-Cheap plasticy materials, crappy hollow shelves for shampoo, cheap no name showerheads (picture bottom shelf at ***)
-Workers that left a 1"x2" hole in the ceiling that they filled with silicone caulk (not how you fix drywall, workers that snapped a piece of trim and said nothing about it
I caught the workers cutting only a small hole in the wall and I asked them if they were going to demo down to the studs like Carter had promised. They said no.
I had a cow and called Carter who didn't answer. I called another installer that I guess is the boss, his name is Jim. He made a bunch of excuses and then sent drywall over so they could demo down to the studs and replace the drywall. It is worth noting that in the video they showed us during the estimate showing their "process" the installer demoed down to the studs and replaced with a cement backer board. This is not what they did for us. They used green board. It works fine I guess, but just another unexpected occurrence.
I watched them only replace the plumbing at the valve and not the pipe leading to the shower head. Was this necessary for them to do? Probably not. Was is promised to us by Carter? Yes. Did they do it? No. They put the greenboard over it and moved on. At this point I fully accepted that I was being hosed. However this was the only shower in my home so I was more interested in them finishing the job and getting out of my house.
They didn't bring a shower rod and then asked me if I wanted one. Yes, I was told you would install one so yes. They went to buy one and came back an hour later with chrome instead of satin nickel like ALL THE OTHER ACCESSORIES they installed. I told them I didn't want it. They came back the next day and installed some shower rod that they obviously bought at *** or *** (I know because it was the same one I had when this project started).
They sent someone to fix the hole in the ceiling and the trim. He fixed the hole in the ceiling but not the trim.
SUMMARY:
OVER PROMISE/UNDER DELIVER. Carter is at best a bad communicator and at worst a scam artist. I was told I would hear from someone today about a credit. I didn't hear from anyone. I have major complaints about how this whole job went down and no one with any authority to do anything about it will call me from *** / Matrix Bath to discuss.
Save your money and have a local handyman do twice as good of a job for half the price.

This company makes promises that they can't t keep. In my case a bathroom remodeling needed. It starts with the sales person showing you video of process of what will happen and info on company. They did not follow through as what initially said. My experience with this company is negative.

800 Sq ft basement remodel. Basically only walls, ceiling. Electrical was too expensive thru Matrix, Pergo floor- full bathroom - separate contractor.
What I expected wasa 4/6 wk project but dragged on from Mid Feb thru June. One crew was asked to be replaced. About 3 weeks worth of drywall finishing had to be redone, but Matrix did step up, bring in a great couple of knowledgeable guys to ultimately resolve open issues. The Process was frustrating and my final cost for basically walls and ceiling was far too high.

My husband *** and I had put down a deposit some time ago to have a basement renovation done. We advised them at the time that we did the deposit that we would not be able to actually do the job for a year or two but we wanted to lock in the special financing rate in case we did move forward with the renovation. They said this would be fine and that if we changed our minds, we would receive our deposit back. As it turns out, we encountered a financial challenge and will be unable to move forward with the renovation. I have left messages four times for various people to advise them of this and request our deposit back and not one person has called us back from their company.

Matrix Home Solutions Response

I have reviewed the documentation on our end to see if the agreement between Matrix and the *** family indicates contingencies or language that speaks towards post-rescission cancellation or an "out clause" and I cannot find it. From what I can see, we have a binding agreement to finish their basement that was written and signed by all parties back in 2012. We are happy to discuss options with the ***'s, however cannot understand how this is with the Revdex.com and how it is a "complaint". Again, they signed a contract and placed a deposit back in 2012 and nothing has happened up until recent when they called asking for a refund of their deposit. As we have most likely explained verbally and in writing to the ***s, by federal and state law, all homeowners/customers have 3 business days to cancel agreements that are written in their home without penalty or obligation. To cancel an agreement 5 years later and then demand a full refund seems a bit odd. We will reach out today to discuss with the ***'s. Thank you!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Good Morning,

I am emailing you to advise you that I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com late last week and fortunately the business and I were able to come to a resolution and the situation has been rectified in a mutually acceptable way.

The company I filed the complaint against is Matrix Basements. My case # is ***.

Please remove my complaint from their site or whatever you need to do to show that this has been resolved so that it does not result in a "ding" or mark against the business any longer.

If you have any questions or need further information please feel free to contact me via email.

Thank you.
