Ms. [redacted]'s ongoing concerns.As stated in our letter dated 2/17/17, the warranty
on the light fixture is held an administered by [redacted]. While we will accept
the return or exchange of the fixture, the decision regarding repair and/or
labor compensation must be addressed by the warranty holder. The fixture was
not installed by us and was not sold with any labor warranty.We

The business did not address the complaints at hand, nor did they provide an acceptable resolution (for me to accept a merchandise return slip).  My complaint is that the business failed to honor the written warranty printed on the rake (refused to provide an alternate, similar item after I made 2 trips to the store and was assured by [redacted] that a replacement would be found).  The return policy referenced in the letter is irrelevant - my return was a warranty return for exchange under the printed warranty, not a regular return subject to the normal return requirements.  The identical product was unavailable (despite their computer system saying that it was), and they refused to exchange for a similar item, as specified in the written warranty.They also failed to address the issue of theft by conversion on the part of returns associate, [redacted], who discarded half of the rake between my visits without my consent (which prevented me from obtaining an identical item at another Menards and forced me to accept an alternative that I didn't want - a merchandise refund check).  As a matter of fact, it should be noted that Menards, Inc. does not provide any means for a customer to retrieve receipts for purchases made on Menards gift cards (which is the likely reason I could not find the receipt among the thousands of dollars worth of receipts from this merchant in the past year).I am asking for a CASH refund of the purchase price (not a merchandise check) to compensate me for 2 x 70 mile round-trip wasted trips to the store, due to incorrect information provided, for failure to honor their written warranty, and as a meager customer service gesture of the atrocious customer service provided by the store associate ([redacted]) and the store director.  Quite frankly, I am surprised that Menards even bothered to respond, as they clearly didn't read or address the intent of my complaint.  My conclusion is that the store director was correct - there is nobody at Menards corporate that will want to hear from me  or do anything to help (and it appears as though store directors are authorized to act contrary to the written terms of warranty on their products and provide atrocious customer service with impunity from their corporate office).  Mena5rds is a HORRIBLE company and I am sincerely sorry that I spent as much money as I have in the past 2 decades with them.  It's Home Depot for me from now on, and I will tell every living soul that I encounter what a rotten, dishonest, unaccountable organization Menards is and encourage them to also shop elsewhere...Regards,

attempt to return the items but was misled by their employee who would not assist and did not know their return policy. I explained this numerous times through your reply service and previously when I made an attempt to resolve the situation over the phone and it's almost like an automatic response. They're giving the same response just wording it differently. It's perfectly ok, me and my wife decided we would find something in their store to purchase with the return credit receipt and just not deal with their business any further. We have been totally dissatisfied with the way they handled this issue. We also find them to be totally unprofessional when it comes to taking responsibility for the actions of their employees and as stated previously we wish them the best in their future business endeavors. We are god fearing people and do not wish anything bad on anyone,however the public and local communities are what made Menards a successful business. Each individual customer contributed to their success and will continue to do so or slowly begin to withdraw based on cold responses and a lack of concern for the opinion of their customers. Continuing success depends heavily on how you represent and how that is perceived through experience. Word of mouth is also one of the best advertising tools ever. I have nothing good to say about them now and trust I will definitely have nothing good to say about their company in the future, only the truth!

I sent Menards a letter (copy of the complaint) including photos of the injuries suffered to my child along with photos of the failure of the cabinet doors. I included ALL of the information (the name/sku of the medicine cabinet), date of purchase, place of purchase and stated that I did NOT have the receipt (January 29th, 2015. I received a letter from them LAST WEEK asking me to send them a copy of my receipt (didn't I send them a letter stating that I DO NOT have the receipt?!) along with the name/sku of the medicine cabinet, date of purchase, place of purchase. I STATED all of the requested information when I submitted the letter/complaint to them already! Menards has a copy of the complaint. Copies of the photos of the injuries caused by the product that was sold by their store - and they have the audacity to say that they sent me a letter that I did not comply with? I complied BEFORE they even 'replied' to my letter! Menards needs to READ their mail! I have sent in ALL of the information that they requested (sans the receipt) but I supplied the DATE of purchase!The reply that Menards had is just a stalling tactic. They are trying to ignore their responsibility![redacted]

They have failed to apologize and compensate me for the fact that their employee tried to take and damage my cell phone, he was abusive and the manager was also very rude and confrontational. Denial of their employees actions is not a resolution. They have video cameras present in their stores, and I requested from the very beginning that these video's be obtained for a full investigation. These video tapes would clearly verify my complaint in its entirety. Menards wanted to make it all about the pricing. The pricing is what initiated the abuse, however disputing a price, should never ever result in a Menards employee becoming abusive, threatening, and hostile towards a customer. Now they are using the excuse that my file is closed. How convenient for them to elude responsibility. I never asked for a detailing of employee disciplinary results, and not sure why they even brought that matter up. However, I do not believe that there was any form of action taken against the employee or manager, because in earlier correspondence they stated that they had completed an investigation and that my allegations were unfounded; which would not result in any form of disciplinary action. If there would have been a complete and thorough investigation and the video's would have been viewed we would not be continuing on today with this conversation. The video's would fully and completely verify the abuse, attempted assault and total disregard for a customer. Menards should fully assess how they treat customers. They owe me an adequate compensation, and an apology for this happening. I do regret not contacting law enforcement immediately, and having this employee arrested. Im still within a time frame to have this employee arrested, and I will be talking to local law enforcement in regards to this matter as well. No one and I mean no one should be allowed to treat another person the way I was treated. Menards is not going to bully me, and disrespect me to save their own face.
