As a long-time customer with a homecare contract, I called when my HVAC system failed after just being inspected earlier this spring. When they told me I couldn't get an appointment for five days, despite public advertisements for 24/7 support and customer satisfaction, I had to call another company, which came out in less than four hours.
When the new tech inspected the system installed by Michael and Sons, he discovered a bad capacitor. Connected to that capacitor was a TP-6 Hard Start unit. This unit was added by Michael and Sons during my spring inspection to "ease" the start of my unit. The new tech said this Hard Start unit does just the opposite, jolting the capacitor to turn on the a/c and probably causing the capacitor to fail. It is only supposed to be used on older units that could benefit from a slight kick start. My system is fairly new.
As a result of the initial poor customer service, I have canceled my homecare contract and asked for a prorated refund. I cannot recommend signing up for any long-term contract and customers should get second opinions on any add-ons suggest my Michael and Sons. Together with the initial inspection addition and the repair for its damage, I'm out about $650.

I was very pleased with their customer service from the time I submitted a request for service through to the close of the installation.

The plumber phoned about an hour before arriving on time as promised. He
replaced the spigot on the kitchen sink and installed a spray attachment too.
He offered to repair several other potential problems, as well as several
choices of kitchen spigots. He was very courteous and completed the
repair work in about two hours.

Troy provided highly professionalized and efficient service. He called and arrived on time. He analyzed our problems and explained our options clearly. He also identified many possible improvements and updates for us to consider at various points in the future.
He got to work quickly on the tasks we agreed upon for this visit and provided accurate cost and time estimates. Troy's explanations and demonstrations were clear and helpful once he completed the work and everything is not merely repaired but functioning better than new.
We have had good and bad service calls with various companies over the years. Troy is one of the best.

you for allowing us to respond to this concern. We made many attempts to help this customer and she was willing to allow help but later claim we failed to call her and assist her with return calls.
Michael & Son asked the manager of the area to make contact and he left messages and they were never returned. 
We made several attempts to clean her rugs and according to the carpet company it was successful.
Nothing other contact has been made and we feel this matter should be closed as resolved.

Thank you for allowing us  to respond to our customer's concern. Michael and Son Services were called out to the customer's home because their AC was non operational. Our technician went out and told the customer that it was a wiring  concern from the outdoor to the indoor unit. We rewired...

the wires, but informed the customer this was a temporary fix and that we need to have an electrician come out  but we strongly suggest replacing the unit due to age and those wires can assist in other malfunctions such as fuses and the control board. Our sales representative came out and looked at the unit and left options for the customer. Soon thereafter the customer called again because the AC was not working. Our technician came out again rewired the wires and said there was a burnt fuse which can be caused by malfunctioning parts and the rewiring. Michael and Son will provide the best options for our customer's and we informed our customer that repair costs would be more rather than replacing the unit which includes whole new wiring with the new unit and our warranty. We will be more than happy to service our customer, but just want to make they understand the concerns with the unit and the options available to them. Please have our customer contact us so we can better assist with proceeding further regarding their concern.

Michael & Sons installed our heating system. Did a excellent job and explained every thing after installment. We had them come back and install an Air Knight Purification system And cleaned the ducts. Nyle M[redacted] did a great job explaining And making sure we understood everything he did. Very professional.

Brice & Santo is one of the best teams at M&S for duct-cleaning and dryer vent work. I have meet Santo before and it is a pleasure seeing him every time. I always say, why mess with what works!!! Both guys are very professional and pay attention to every detail in the jobs they do. I recommend them both for any HVAC related job needed. Also, M&S in general is a superb company to do business with.

I am rejecting this response because:
This
is extremely unprofessional on the Business' part. Whatever it is said by the
business here, it is fully untrue. I would like to ask Revdex.com to close this case
with this last statement from me. As mentioned earlier, the reason of my
complaint being submitted to the Revdex.com is for the public/other clients or
potential clients to know that Michal and Son is not a trustworthy, honest
company to rely on. I truly feel they are out preying on customers, especially,
on the ones who do not have any understanding on the service they need or what
the business is recommending about equipment they are servicing or repairing. It
is like going to an unscrupulous auto service shop and they come up with a list
of repairs/parts a car does not need.
For
the record -- none of the items mentioned by Mr. Vance were offered. They
couldn’t  – because, they know that they rendered
zero service to may equipment.  I will
not entertain in responding in detail to any part of their statement.  I am happy that this will be settled in court
as they have chosen to do so. Again, the truth will prevail, because I do want to believe in the system. Mr. Vance, just rememer, that whoever walks with integrity, walks secure.

So glad I called M & Son. Troy C was so thorough and informative throughout. He did an excellent job.

I called this morning when I discovered my hot water heater was leaking. within two hours a service man was at my house and by mid afternoon the water was replaced and I had hot water again. and this was on a Saturday.
excellent service and the tech was very knowledgable and helpful.
Nice to have these types of cos. around.

I know a lot of attention was given to this concern step by step. Victor A[redacted] was constantly helping her along with the technicians adhering to the rejected inspections by the county. My understanding is that we removed and existing sink...

that the customer needed changed to a double sink. The county had safety concerns and asked we make several upgrades to make things right . Our job is to make sure what ever the county want we have to adhere to it. The concerns mounted and many visits were required. Each time we believed things were done the county failed us on another concern. We have installed many sinks and water heaters in the past and had no concerns at all. Why this occurred is hard to understand but we believe all is corrected at this time.I will be glad to speak to Ms [redacted] but I don't believe the refund of the $10904 is the correct way to handle this concern.Thanks Vance S[redacted]

Tevin was extremely knowledgeable and very patient explaining everything to me (so I could explain to a third party not present during his inspection!). He went over every option and explained in detail why he was recommending the different things for my heating system. He was also very tolerant of my cats and dogs who kept trying to help him.

Joseph D[redacted]s from Michael & Son Services installed a water heater for my house. He came with a positive, friendly attitude very early in the morning and did a terrific job installing the water heater. He explained how the equipment worked as well. It was a very pleasant experience.

Spoke with [redacted] re: status of her complaint, She said it has been resolved to her satisfaction.

Jason O'Brien providing responsive and thorough electrical support for a problem we were having with exterior lighting. Jason was extremely courteous and while he was there, addressed another problem we were having. This is the first time we've used Michael & Son. We will again when needed.

I contracted with Michael & Son to replace my main water line. This job was supposed to take no more than 1.5 days to complete ... it took a week! I have no issues with the Sewer and Water (S&W) Specialist who was available to me any time of the day, addressed all of my questions and handled the problems I encountered along the way. My issues were with the team that was sent to do the excavation and plumbing. The lead of the excavation team left the work site for approximately 2 hours, leaving the others to sit around after the area was dug out. The plumber did not put down a drop cloth to protect my floor and did not wear shoe covers. When I questioned him he stated that he did not step in the dirt - I had him correct this situation. He also cut away too much insulation unnecessarily from the wall. Later that evening after the team left I noticed drops of water from one of the pipe connections. The S&W Specialist was notified and addressed the problem - having a plumber come and tighten the connection (same plumber that installed the water pipe came). Well the Inspector approved the work stating that the hole in the wall where the new pipe was installed had to be plugged up. The initial excavation team returned to address the pipe, hole and put the dirt back in the areas dug out. Later I noticed a drop of water at the rear of the same connection and moisture on my wall where the pipe went through the wall from a heavy rain the night before. Once again I contacted the S&W Specialist and told him that the same plumber was not allowed back in my house. A Master Plumber was sent to review the problem and took pictures for his Supervisor. This time a two person team was sent - professional in every way! My floors were covered, covers placed over their shoes, and steps they were going to take thoroughly stated. This time I had a better comfort level. The front of my house had to be re-excavated. It was found that the pipe going though the wall inside my house had not been properly sealed at the bottom. The Master Plumber had to replace, reconnect and reseal around the pipe that was inserted through my wall (inside and out). The difference and total look of the final work product between the first and second team is like night and day!!! I wish I had the second team in the first place as this entire work process caused unnecessary stress on me and my yard, and was disruptive and inconvenient. I'm now hoping that my bush survives after having been dug up twice and awaiting replacement of a broken landscape light.

Lost our mains water, after asking friends we were advised to call Michaels to look at it.
Tech was there within 2 hours, sensible and straightforward and produced an immediate quote.
Job was done very quickly, three very hard working guys and good quality machinery minimised the disruption to the yard and replaced the soil and sidewalk so well you couldn't see it had been done.
First class work, highly recommended.
