I had to contact State Farm regarding a claim due to an accident with one of their insuredThe claims processor I spoke with was extremly rude and even told me he was not oblagated to assisting me because I was not their customerI was directed to call State Farm by my insurance company because they had already determined I was not at faultI think it is very unprofessional for State Farm employees to speak to people this way even if I am not a customer

A tenant with State Farm renters insurance caused extensive damage to another apartment The apartment building was covered by State Farm Insurance, but the claim was filed under the tenant's insurance The State Farm estimate called for replacing the kitchen counters, but reusing the back splash, even though the back splash pattern is no longer available so the counter and back splash would not match Other repairs were not included The adjuster, D*** Ryan, said "we stand behind our estimate as fair and reasonable for the work needed and are ready to settle with you right now based on that estimate." We decided to not settle until all the work was doneThe person who was supposed to move into the apartment was unable to do so because of the damage, so the apartment was empty while repairs were being completed and it was able to be rented again MrRyan says we should have been able to get the repairs done and have the apartment rented in two weeks, so we should not be compensated for all the lost rent and should not be compensated for utilities at all and is offering to settle for about 70% of the total cost He then threatened that if we didn't settle within days, the settlement offer would decrease and never increase MrRyan is not willing to justify or explain his lower offer--he just says that we should have gotten everything done in two weeks Estimates from contractors he suggested were either incomplete or left off parts of the repairs The only way we could even get another estimate was to NOT mention State Farm, and that contractor "squeezed us in" since he already had other jobs ahead of us, so it took much longer than two weeks We are not willing to accept MrRyan's offer and have not been able to contact anyone else higher up to further discuss the matterWe would have settled right away had the State Farm estimate not tried to shortchange us in their original estimate We switched our State Farm Apartment policy to another company because of this We now pay a little more for much better coverage, but we still haven't settled this matter

We have been with State Farm for years, We have both auto and home owners with themWe started with agent and when he retired we didn't get to chose an agent but found out that we had been sent to another agentWe were told about this by letter, being a young couple we just went with itWe had no problems and we did have auto claim and homeowners during this timeNow my son gets his first car, gets HIS OWN policyState Farm is the company he goes with, no problemsHe had accidents which none of them are his fault, State Farm drops him, I can understandHere comes the issue, State Farm takes it upon themselves to add him to OUR POLICY.My son has NEVER been on our policyThey took the payment out our account before EVEN telling us about the change, We contact our agent about the difference in the amount and they tell us we put your son on your policyWe explained numerous times that he WAS NEVER on OUR POLICY and that they dropped himTo make a long story short they told us in order to have him taken off OUR policy we had to show proof that he had insurance, WE sent them policy numbers, a copy of the policy, a picture of the card and YET they have not taken him offWe get a call today stating that hey need more infoWe have spent hours on the phone going back and forth, giving them the infoI don't think that they have a clue who is doing what in the office, who spoke to who When I get done with this time to look for a new company, and speak to a lawyer, I want the extra money that they have taken to cover my son since we have no policy number, no proof that they have covered himI will never tell anyone to go to State Farm, they need to learn customer service
