MovingHelp.com Reviews (353)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]2, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Policy was hidden behind layers of blatant and false advertisement. Advertisement to the degree of highlighting this as a non event item as they have direct influence over movers advertised pro/con comparison matrix. Business practice is blatant bait for contract without support structure shown. As noted in reply relying on policy hidden on site and policy.

Regards,

The order will be cancelled and a check reimbursement will be processed. It should be received within 7-10 days.

A credit of $215.95 was processed to your credit card on May 10.

The funds were released to the Moving Helper on July 26th, 2016. The customer's release of Moving Help's Payment Code authorized the Moving Helper to get paid. At this time, the customer must seek compensation through the Moving Helper. Below is an excerpt from MovingHelp.com's Customer...

Agreement:4. eMove operates the Marketplace. The MarketPlace is a Neutral Venue and Online Clearinghouse:

... the Moving Helper(s) do not work for Us. You acknowledge and agree that the Moving Helper(s) are not Our employees, agents, representatives or independent contractors. You acknowledge and agree that We do not do any type of background checks of a Moving Helper nor do we do inquiries into the work history, criminal history or character history of a Moving Helper nor do we do inquiries into whether a Moving Helper has any or all applicable licensure, insurance(s) or permits that may be necessary to perform the Services. Therefore, You acknowledge and agree that We cannot guarantee nor do We have control over the quality, accuracy, standard of Service, safety or legality of the Services provided by the Moving Helper or of the Moving Helper itself. You acknowledge and agree that We only operate a web site. You acknowledge and agree that any and all communications, correspondence, verbal or written, or any warranties or representations, made with regard to the Services and the Moving Helper are not provided by Us and are specifically and solely between You and the Moving Helper.

MovingHelp.com considers this matter resolved.

We do understand Mr. [redacted]'s frustration with the service provider, however we cannot force an independent company to pay the customer for damages. The purpose of the Payment Code is to allow the Customer the ability to deny the Payment Code until an agreement can be reached.

Having said that, we have emailed the service provider and requested that they contact the Customer, Mr. [redacted], regarding the damages and payment. It is solely upon the Customer and the service provider to reach an agreement. Now that we have assisted the Customer in contacting the service provider, Moving Help considers this matter resolved.

They double charged us and wouldn't release the payment for 30 days. I called 3 times and they hung up on me.

Damage my computer stand took more breaks than they work my self and my daughter had to start loading the truck this move was a major disaster I hired movers due to the fact that I have sciatic back pain and ended up moving my own things not happy about the service would not recommend and then after they broke my computer stand they started talking in their language where I couldn't understand what they were saying but did apologize for the damage not a happy customer. I would not recommend moving help.com to anybody in Spokane Washington they are not professional movers they do not know how to pack a truck.

Mrs. [redacted] created a Resolution Case with the Moving Helper on 01/18/16. The Moving Helper asked how the customer would like to resolve the issues on 01/20/16. The customer did not respond with a resolution. The Moving Helper has agreed to come to a resolution with their customer. Mrs....

[redacted] would need to contact the Moving Helper directly for resolution. Furthermore, the customer reserves the right to cancel their order if the Moving Helper fails to commit to the services requested. In this case, the customer claims that only (2) Moving Helpers arrived when she booked (3) through the business Richard Baton. The customer at that point had the ability to cancel the order and get a full refund. They allowed the Moving Helper to complete the work as well as gave the customer the payment code, indicating that the services rendered were to the customer's satisfaction. This is directly off of the MovingHelp.com customer agreement:"Upon the completion of, and your satisfaction with, the Services, You agree that You will complete the transaction with the Moving Helper by presenting the Payment Code to the Moving Helper. You agree and acknowledge that Your presentation of the Payment Code to the Moving Helper is Your payment to the Moving Helper and Your authorization for the release of any and all authorized payments for the Services. You agree that You are responsible for any and all payments owed to the Moving Helper. You agree that You are not entitled to a refund from Us for any Services that are completed in less time than that amount of time set forth in your Request."
I have included the Moving Help contact info for the customer to directly pursue the company.

Complaint ID:   [redacted]

When the customer canceled on 7/6, they were given a store credit in their customer account so they could reschedule.  Customer contacted us via email on 7/10 and we informed them how to issue the refund.   Customer self-generated refund on 8/1 for...

$170.95 so this was resolved at that point. Thanks,Ryan P[redacted] Program [email protected]

In response to Revdex.com complaint ID#: [redacted] filed by [redacted] requesting a refund. On 9/29/2014 an order was submitted by Ms [redacted] through the MovingHelp.com marketplace in which she selected and defined the amount of hours and crew size for services.  At that time, Ms [redacted]...

agreed to the terms & conditions for the corresponding transactions between she and the selected service provider.  Included below is a section of the Payment for Services provision of the Agreement.Upon the completion of, and your satisfaction with, the Services, You agree that You will complete the transaction with the Moving Helper by presenting the Payment Code to the Moving Helper. You agree and acknowledge that Your presentation of the Payment Code to the Moving Helper is Your payment to the Moving Helper and Your authorization for the release of any and all authorized payments for the Services. You agree that You are responsible for any and all payments owed to the Moving Helper. You agree that You are not entitled to a refund from Us for any Services that are completed in less time than that amount set forth in Your Request. As stated in previous communications to Ms [redacted], by presenting the Payment Code to the service provider she completed the transaction for services as defined in the order.  Any requests for refund should be directed to the corresponding service provider which has received Ms [redacted]’s payment.  The request for additional cash she paid for services outside our Marketplace should also be directed to the people she gave the cash to.Again, here is the Moving Helper’s contact information so she can pursue this matter directly with them: [redacted]

Services were requested and paid for--that made it a legally binding CONTRACT.  MovingHelp.com hosts (provides) the website and gets paid for it.  They are therefore ultimately responsible for the performance of the contractor /supplier.  The contract was breached by MovingHelp's agent.  Simply refunding the money (which took several hours of my time to obtain), does not negate the breach, nor does it do anything for the collateral damages I incurred, both physical and monetary.  Furthermore, MovingHelp does nothing to reprimand the agent that defaulted, no repercussions whatsoever.  The performance of the agent was deplorable, the performance of MovingHelp is terrible (hold times of >1 hour), and the difficulty in obtaining the refund was also unacceptable.

I have reviewed...

the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is unsatisfactory to me.  Mr. [redacted] services was a referral but he provided his business card with Movinghelp.com and his phone number to contact him in regards of my refund. It would be helpful if Movinghelp can least provide an address so I can contact him with an official letter to resolve my complaint.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

Do not use MovingHelp.com for your moving needs. I have moved twice over the past year and used movers from this site. I have had so many things broken because the movers just threw my stuff on the truck. These movers are not professional movers. Each time, I noticed that it appears that the movers are friends who just happen to start a moving company. These movers cannot possibly be vetted by MovingHelp.com and looks like anyone can call movinghelp.com and say add me to your movers list. I had so many things broken and stolen because of incompetent movers from this site. In addition, here are other things that have happened:

-One mover stole my Beats by Dre headphones which were pretty expensive. This same mover also did not have a dolly and I ended up having to help them do an extensive amount of moving. Last, the mover then said he moved everything but then I went to the truck after he left and saw that he had not moved everything. I had to move these items on my own (Moving Company: Polite and Careful in Durham/Chapel Hill, NC).

-One mover gave me the time he would arrive. He did not show up at the time. I called and texted him to determine his estimated time of arrival, the mover (Scott out of Rock Hill, SC with Top Flight Movers) got an attitude (because HE was late) and told me to do the job myself and hung up on me. What type of mover does that but an incompetent and unprofessional one.

-One mover placed my bed headboard on the truck whereas when you open the truck door, the headboard could have fell over on my head. And multiple items broken.

The hassle, things broken, etc of dealing with these movers are not worth it. Again, they are not reputable businesses and you are better off hiring a company like All My Sons or some other well known moving company.

Movinghelp's website states "You are in complete control of your move! Our moving labor does not receive payment until the moving services are completed to your satisfaction. Once satisfied, simply give the Moving Helper the Payment Code and let us do the rest!" However, I was charged by one of their movers for services I requested, but never utilized. Their explanation was "your charged right away for placing the order 4/23/2016 7:15 PM EST" Had I not been vigilant about checking my credit card statement, this charge may have gone unnoticed. I would certainly use this services with caution. Does not seem to be very secure or work as they claim.

Worst experience ever. Be aware of "helper" Bill (William) Hill (his emails: [email protected] and [email protected]) He is a scammer , sexual harasser and annoying nasty person. I ordered moving help with movinghelp.com. I paid for driving 35 cents per mile and $30 for 2 hours for uploading. This person Bill Hill supposed to be my moving helper, he supposed to help me with uploading/moving my things, and driving rented truck to Settle from Portland. After I completed order, this person contacted me and asked to buy him ticket from Seattle back to Portland. Which I did. Then he said he can do un-loading in Settle and ask if I can pay him for this job cash, and I agreed because I was in hurry and need to find someone very fast. Then nightmare started. Between day this person contacted me and moving day he texted me bunch of annoying messages with his personal ad and asked to share on social media, then he started to flirt with me texting that he "nice and intelligent man". I did not like it and started to search other moving companies. But it was too short notice, all companies were booked. So, I decided to continue work with this person. I bought him a ticket (non-refundabe) from Seattle to Portland. And he confirmed that I DONT NEED TO PAY ANYTHING OTHER THAN WE AGREED. The eveing before moving I texted him with time and location confirmation. He never responded. Next morning I called him . At first he did not pick up phone, then he pick up and said that I need to pay additional $15 per hour for driving (it was DAY OF MOVING!!!) I immediately contacted movinghelp.com customer service and asked if that is true that I need to pay anything except driving mileage, they said no, I dont need to pay extra. I texted this person that I dont have to but he just never respond and disappeared. He totally planned to trick me, and eventually stood me up! Now I am planning to sue this person and company.

We suggest that the claimant attempt an email to the company, [redacted]. We also suggest that the claimant attempt to obtain contact information from the worker from the company, if the telephone number that we have for the company goes to the former employee. Moving Help is unable to obtain the funds from the [redacted] being that the customer, Kathryn [redacted], released the Payment Code to the Helper, authorizing the release of the funds to the Helper. If the claimant is unable to reach the [redacted] via the contact information provided to her, it may be in the customer's best interest to legally pursue the [redacted] in small claims court. Below is the contact information for the [redacted]:

Mrs. [redacted], I am terribly sorry for these issues, but Moving Help has done everything in our power to assist you in obtaining these funds. I would certainly consider taking legal action if you cannot reach this moving company. Thank you.

In this instance, we waited 9 months before processing the payment. Therefore, we are unable to process a refund as a request for cancellation was not received and the Moving Helper was paid per our terms and conditions.[redacted]

This is a despicable outfit that purports to be a division of U-Haul. They go around the web and post advertising in the form or reviews for other companies. We engaged them to load and unload a rental truck and they causes thousands of dollars in damage to our furniture. They use unscrupulous labor and ask customers to sign ridiculous agreements that hold them free of responsibility for damages. Run as far away from this outfit as you can. It would be better to hire a real moving company to provide loading and unloading service.

The worst company to deal with!! DONT USE THESE CROOKS!! We booked movers with them over two weeks before the moving date and all was confirmed until we get a text a day before saying "sorry we can't make it" so we called movinghelp.com to try to resolve the issue and the best they could do for us is book a different team that was more expensive (plus charge us $10 extra for rebooking?!?!?!?!?) whatever the case at that point we were desperate because it was our moving date and we didn't want to end up paying the landlord extra for not moving out on time so we rebooked with them. 8am the next day we wait for the movers to arrive.... Big surprise no one showed up! My wife and I ended up killing ourselves moving the whole house piece by piece on our own!!!!!!!!!!!

Additionally, I found complaint, # [redacted] in the complaint portal, which we never received via email either.  (it seems as we only get the emails when a person actually sends them to us).Today, we cancelled order and issued full refund for the customer [redacted]...
