MovingHelp.com Reviews (353)

Per the Moving Help terms and conditions, the customer agreed to only provide the payment code to ABC Services after ABC Services had satisfactorily completed the job(s) which the customer booked them for. The customer authorized the release of any and all payments for services provided by...

presenting the payment code to ABC Services. Because ABC Services has already received the funds for service provided, the customer must contact them for the requested compensation. The customer can contact ABC Services through the "Resolve an issue" feature on MovingHelp.com or by using the contact information provided to the customer.

Hi, the customer's card did not pass AVS (address verification) twice due to an incorrect billing address being entered, so the first 2 charges were automatically voided. These will show as temporary authorizations, but typically fall off within a day.  I assume that they have been released by...

the customer's bank back on 8/14 or 8/15.

Again,
Being that the Payment Code was given to the service provider, the funds have already been paid to them. It is the suggestion of MovingHelp.com that the customer, Mr. [redacted], pursue the Moving Helper directly. Being that MovingHelp.com is the facilitator of the transaction between the Customer and the Moving Helper, We as facilitators are in no way responsible for damages caused by the independent service providers. We strongly recommend that the customer seek compensation directly through the independent service provider. Below is all known points of contact for the independent service provider. MovingHelp.com considers this matter resolved.

When the customer cancelled his or her order, they chose to have their funds transferred to a credit to be used to book another Moving Helper. The credit was not used. The funds were submitted back to the customer's card on the morning of 3/30/2017.

Why should the helper absorb the loss by cancelling the order despite of rendering services & Why is it so hard for the company to...

accept that this could have been handled better rather than blaming the helpers. Inconvenience was caused by the company with poor guidance. A simple instruction or message to helpers asking them to deliver the u box would have made everyone's life and work easier instead of pulling out chat transcripts and reading line by line and telling me how I should decipher the same .  Goodluck with your unfair business practices .

I was looking for movers and found their ad on craigslist. And the link they provided led me to movinghelp.com. I filled in my information, such as location, move dates, etc. When the website asked me to provide my credit card before I can get any quote. I tried the online help. The women named [redacted] insisted on I should provide my credit card number before she actually answered me any question in any helpful way. Stay away from this website. It is shady and sneaky.

A Helper can only be paid if they obtain the payment code from the customer. The payment code for [redacted] was provided by the customer and entered by the Moving Helper, payment was released to the Moving Helper on 11/1. We have provided all of the Moving Helper's information on file to the customer and included the Terms and Conditions that the customer agreed to when placing the order. MovingHelp.com considers this matter resolved.

Failure to show up for a job I paid for should be recorded for others to...

see. As far as I see it, a refund does not mean I was not a customer. The order was cancelled by movinghelp after the time frame the movers stated they would be there. This is a material failure to provide service that is not allowed to be communicated by moving help. My review is valid and explains my experience as a customer before the order was cancelled. The comments are about when I was a customer, by paying for these services, therefore I did have interactions with this comp y such as phone call and ignored voicemails. How is this not considered a customer review to you? Again, a no show and an ensuing cancellation does not give grounds to not allow that review to post to let others know of the experience.

We suggest that the claimant attempt an email to the company, [redacted]. We also suggest that the claimant attempt to obtain contact information from the worker from the company, if the telephone number that we have for the company goes to the former employee. Moving Help is unable to obtain the funds from the [redacted] being that the customer, Kathryn [redacted], released the Payment Code to the Helper, authorizing the release of the funds to the Helper. If the claimant is unable to reach the [redacted] via the contact information provided to her, it may be in the customer's best interest to legally pursue the [redacted] in small claims court. Below is the contact information for the [redacted]:

Mrs. [redacted], I am terribly sorry for these issues, but Moving Help has done everything in our power to assist you in obtaining these funds. I would certainly consider taking legal action if you cannot reach this moving company. Thank you.

I want to point out to other potential clients of movinghelp.com, that their fees are charged in American Dollars. For those of us North of the border, it is not stated any where that we would be charged in American dollars. That is fraud. As well, it is stated on the website when you book this service that one is not charged until the job is complete, that is a lie. My move was booked for March 25 and I was charged on my credit card on March 10. So they make sure to get their money even if the job is not complete. I ended up cancelling my move and I am waiting to see if my monies are refunded.

I want to also note that I was referred to movinghelp.com through uhaul.com. I understand that movinghelp.com operates its head office out of the states, that should not mean that a service I get in Canada should be charged in American dollars. Uhaul and movinghelp.com should both clearly state what funds one is being charged in when offering this service.

The customer booked two different orders. One order was cancelled by the customer and one order was completed. A refund for the cancelled order was sent to the customer's card on 3/16/2017.

I can only find two charges for this customer. The first charge was for $116.95 on 4/21/2017, which was refunded in full on 4/23/2017 when the order was cancelled. The second charge was for $85.93 on 4/23, for which the customer confirmed services were rendered. We will need a bank statement showing...

the additional charges to proceed.

Hello, Thank you for contacting MovingHelp.com.  Per our email conversation, your issue has already been resolved at the point I reached out. Thanks,[redacted]MovingHelp.com

We do not have control over how quickly your bank removes authorizations. We charged for the service when ordered as stated on our site which explains the charge occurs immediately. Your bank makes the decision when to remove the pending hold after we complete the transaction.I am sorry for...

the inconvenience, but we will not be issuing credit at this time.

The job was not cancelled by MovingHelp.com, it remained active and the Helper selected was able to complete the job. While their status was changed after the job was booked, they still had the opportunity to complete the job as contracted.
Regardless, you should have been notified...

and provided support to arrange for a new Moving Helper and for that am indeed sorry for our failure. We never look to disappoint a customer, however in this case proper follow through was not executed. If you require help in the future for any moving needs, please contact me directly at [redacted].com and we will make sure your experience meets your expectations.

The business' response is ridiculous. In essence, they state that since they only operate a website, they bear no responsibility if a mover does a terrible job (or does anything else wrong, for that matter), and they will make no effort even to contact movers about legitimate complaints. It would be one thing if they were not profiting from business conducted on the website, but they are, so this is outrageous. Apparently they think this complaint can be adressed, however, by simply stating that they "consider the matter resolved." Here is a comparison that I think brings out how frustrating this is: Imagine that you (moving help) purchase an item on [redacted], and discover that it is defective. You leave negative feedback for the seller, and contact the seller requesting a partial refund. Unfortunately, the seller refuses to respond to multiple requests, and when he ultimately does, he screams profanity at you. So, you contact [redacted] and ask for help. But, [redacted] tells you that it is just a marketplace, that it has absolutely no responsibility for your problem, that it won't contact the seller, and that it "considers the matter resolved." Would you be satisfied with that, knowing that [redacted] made money on the transaction? I'd think not. I'm not asking moving help to reimburse my entire payment or anything remotely like that. I'm asking them to work with me to help me get a partial refund from the mover whose service was inadequate. They really can't even do that?
