At this time, I have been contacted directly by Mudderella LLC regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
[Your Answer Here]
I have yet to receive a full refund as stated in my previous message from October [redacted].  The only response I received from Mudderella was a "cut-and-paste" e-mail which I previously posted.  The solution was to transfer my registration to another Mudderella event for the next year. As of today, Mudderella is not offering a Boston event, but a New England event and have yet to announce the date and location.  If Mudderella had billed the "Boston" 2014 event as a New England event, I, as I am sure many others, would not have registered in the first place.  This organization seems to be acknowledging some amount of deception by making this change.

Review: I signed up for Mudderella Boston, a 5-7 mile obstacle course that was supposed to take place in [redacted] on Sept *, 2014. The event was moved to [redacted], MA, which was not too much farther away, but then on Aug **, 2014 I received an email that the event was being moved to [redacted], Maine. This is a 2.5 hour drive and Mudderella refused to issue a refund as I am not able to participate at the new location so much farther away. I did not sign up for Mudderella Maine, I signed up for Mudderella Boston! It is absolutely ridiculous that they can change the location of the event 8 days prior to the event and not offer refunds. They are offering free transfers to a later date, but who is to say that they will be able to find a Boston location for 2015?Desired Settlement: Refund on my credit card!!!

Sincerely,

Review: I have a team registered to participate in Mudderella Boston on September *, 2014. The event was originally scheduled to take place in [redacted] Massachusetts. They then switched it to a sports park in [redacted] Massachusetts. We were fine with that switch, it is still close to Boston. On Friday August **, just days before the event, they informed all of the participants that the event will now be in [redacted] Maine. This is over 3 hours away. If there was any chance the venue would change to be 2 states away, we never would have signed up to be a part of it. They are refusing to offer refunds for those participants who cannot do a 3+ hour drive to participate in this event. They are offering for us to transfer to another event, or save it for the 2015 Boston event. Not knowing when or where the event will be next year, we cannot commit to that as an option. Their customer service has been terrible. They refuse to give a phone number for anyone to call - email is the only option. While they are responding, they are not being very helpful in the questions and concerns we all have.Desired Settlement: I would like for my team and any other team that cannot go now due to the venue change to have the option for a full refund. Total for my team is about $100 per person, about $1000 total.

Review: I registered for the Mudderella Boston race to be held in [redacted], MA back in January. The race was supposed to be a 7 mile course. We received a notice back in July that the venue changed to [redacted], MA and would only be a 5 mile course. [redacted] to [redacted] was a reasonable distance and July was plenty of notice.

Today we got notice that the venue changed again only this time to [redacted], MAINE. Yes I said Maine... Over an hour drive from the 2nd location and even further from the first.

I emailed Mudderella and explained that the new location simply will not work because it is well over a 2 hour drive and requested a refund (offering for them to keep the portion going to charity).

They replied and denied the refund stating the 'free parking' $11 value more than offsets the inconvenience to racers.

The Mudderella did a complete Bait and Switch! They sold a Boston race and moved it to [redacted] ME (over 100 miles from Boston!).

To add injury to insult, they did it with a week's notice. Racers are losing non-refundable hotel room costs, registration costs and if they choose to race 2 or more extra hours of their lives.

Please stop this business from ripping people off!Desired Settlement: I just want my registration fee (minus the amount actually paid to charity(approx 20%). This is very reasonable considering the multiple changes to the event.

Sincerely,

Review: I registered to participate in the Mudderella race on March [redacted], 2014 for $95.55 to participate, $11.62 for a parking pass as well as $11.62 for a spectator. Since that time the event had moved from [redacted] in [redacted] to [redacted] Sports Park in [redacted], MA (which was fine given the short distance and reasonable time farm to accommodate. Today, Friday August [redacted] at 2:17pm, I was notified via email that the event was being moved from [redacted], MA to [redacted] ME. Not only is this venue location drastically different (2 hours from [redacted]), Mudderella is not offering full refunds, but only offer an event transfer with no events scheduled in New England within a reasonable distance for next year. I would like a full refund for my registration to compete.

Mudderella is only available through web-based forms and social media, which is not accommodating for anyone trying to figure out how to get a fair resolution. Their replies via the internet are not informative and reiterate no refund and no locations for 2015.Desired Settlement: I would like my money fully refunded due to the lack of communication, organization and unprofessionalism of Mudderella, LLC.

Sincerely,

Review: I signed up for a Mudderella race for sept.* in [redacted] MA. It was then changed to [redacted] MA. And then to [redacted] MA. And then, 6 days before the race they have changed the location of the race to MAINE! This is almost three hours from my home and completely unacceptable. If I had known the race could be moved out of state I would not have signed up for it in the first place. The company is not responding to emails and complaints about FULL refunds. The one response I got only offered to postpose my race and sign up for another within the next year. This is completely unacceptable.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund back in my original form of payment ( Credit Card)

Review: I would like to shed some light on what I feel is a scam for an organization called Mudderella who is supposedly representing a charity for battered women Futures without Violence and sponsored by [redacted]. They advertised to sign up for Boston Mass area venue and have changed the venue multiple times. The last change resulted in ME which is a far distances for most and they made the change 8 days prior to the event. They are refusing to offer refunds and from what I understand this is not the first time they have done this. They have been reported repeatedly to the Revdex.com. There is currently a [redacted] page Mudderella We Want a Refund. There are many people very upset by their actions and their canned response to the change. They gave us 2 days to register for new venue in 2015 but did not elaborate that there is no Boston area venue planned for 2015.

I have asked for a refund for me and my team because we can not make it to the new venue in Maine. For us this would be a 2 and half hour drive. Mudderella has refused stating they would only transfer me to another event later in the year or next year. I express to them that I would never sign up for an event in Maine and I would like the option to pick the venue and if I allow them to transfer me they could sign me up for a venue that is not in my area and I would be yet again out of luck of my money. I also expressed to them that the 8 day notice is unacceptable and changing the venue to another city is one thing but to change it 2 states away is insane!Desired Settlement: For my team and I to receive a refund.

Review: My friends, family and I signed up to participate in Mudderella Boston since a family member is moving across the country this month. Mudderella changed locations twice from [redacted] to [redacted] and then most recently to [redacted], MAINE! That isn't what we signed up for when we registered for the event. It is reasonable to expect someone to still participate if the event location is changed locally like [redacted] but to double the travel time and to a location in Maine when the event is called Mudderella Boston is unrealistic. We do not want to transfer our registration to next year since our family member will have moved already. In addition, who knows where their 2015 event will be or if this organization will still be in business. I understand the event locations changed beyond the organizer's control but that is the cost for the organizer to do business. The organizer should go after the event locations that reneged on their contracts and have them pay, not penalized participants. The event was to take place in Boston not Maine or it should not have been advertised as Mudderella Boston.Desired Settlement: I want a refund for all of the participants I signed up for this event.

Review: I signed up for an event with the Mudderella company for a race that was schedule to take place 20 minutes away from my house. The venue shifted but the event was still within a 20 minute drive to my house. However, a week and a half before the event was scheduled to take place, the event moved location again to a location 2 hours from Boston, the advertised location of the race. It is completely unrealistic for me to attend this event due to family circumstances and work circumstances. I simply cannot add this much time commuting to the event because of these circumstances.

However, in spite of the location change, the company refuses to offer refunds. Instead, they offer participants the option to transfer their race fee to a race in 2015. As a new mother, I am planning a family and cannot guarantee that I will be eligible to attend a race in 2015 and I do not think it is fair that I should have to gamble my $100 race fee on the chance that they offer a race close to my home AND that I will be able to attend this race.Desired Settlement: The desired outcome of this complaint is simply a refund of my payment since the service currently being offered is not the same service that was offered at the time of purchase.

Sincerely,

Review: Mudderella advertised a mud run called Mudderella-Boston the original location was to be held in [redacted]l, MA I signed up for the race in March 2014 and paid $84.93 total. The location was then changed to [redacted], MA in July and they were going to charge fees to park, check a bag & for spectators, now a week before the race they have changed the location once again to [redacted], ME. This is unacceptable and they are refusing to issue refunds only transfers for a race next year. A transfer is not acceptable as I will no longer do business with this company in the future.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund

Response:

Sincerely,

Review: Mudderella's contract information in question relates to the waiver signed by participants...

"Emergency Delay or Cancellation:

I acknowledge that Tough Mudder Inc at its sole discretion may delay, modify, or cancel the Mudderella event if conditions or natural or man -made emergencies make administering the event

unreasonably difficult or unsafe. I agree that “emergency” is defined to mean any event beyond the control of Tough Mudder Inc , including but not limited to: high wind, extreme rain or hail, hurricane, tornado, earthquake, flood, acts of terrorism, fire, threatened or actual strike, labor difficulty or work stoppage, insurrection, war, public disaster, and unavoidable casualty. In the event of a delay, modification, or cancellation of the Mudderella event as described in this paragraph, I understand that I will not be entitled to a refund of my entry fee or any other costs

incurred in connection with the Mudderella event described in this paragraph, I understand that I will not be entitled to a refund of my entry fee or any other costs incurred in connection with the

Mudderella event."

'Fee Refunds:

I understand that all fees and associated costs (including optional product purchases, spectator tickets, and donations), paid in registration for this Mudderella event are not refundable for any reason under any circumstances, including but not limited to injury, a scheduling conflict, and/or event cancellation."

I am requesting a refund of $97.54 from Mudderella which was the cost of registration for me as a participant and two spectators. Mudderella was set to take place in the Boston area. The event that I signed up for was called, "Mudderella Boston." Therefore, when I signed the waiver which did include the information quoted above, I never thought that the term "modify" could be related to the change in location of this event venue being in Maine. Mudderella changed the location of the event two times. The first change was within state and was a reasonable and acceptable one. However, the latest change came within a little over a week before the scheduled event and required that participants who signed up for "Mudderella Boston" go to [redacted] Maine. The term "modifications" in the contract above is used as it relates to natural and/or unforeseen events that would place participants at risk for injury or death. This was not the cause of modification (change in venue to a Maine location) in this circumstance. In addition, under the section which further relates to the subject of "refund", it states that fees and costs paid during registration (products, spectator costs, donations) will be non-refundable for any reason under any circumstances. It does not clearly state that a change in venue could be made which is up to two hours away, in addition to not being consistent with the advertised event location ("Mudderella Boston"). Mudderella is not providing reasonable options to participants who have paid a lot of money which is non-refundable per this contract. In addition, I have tried at least three times during correspondence online and in email with Mudderella to obtain a customer service phone number which has not been given at any point. This service is unreasonable.Desired Settlement: I am asking for Mudderella to refund my $97.54.

[Your Answer Here]

They have only answered my complaints by email. I never had the opportunity given to explain that my spectators were not attending the event which moved to Maine because I was unable to participate after this relocation of mudderella Boston. So that was 40 dollars not reimbursed. I also continue to believe that relocation was unreasonable. I lost about 75 dollars for the participation fee for that move and no one ever called me when I requested a direct contact over the phone. Because the transfer

to another event required me to sign the same no refund agreement I did not submit the transfer request and lost not only the money but the opportunity to participate again. I just couldn't do it again.

Sincerely,

Review: I signed up for Mudderella BOSTON. The event was originally to take place in [redacted], MA (This was OK- only about 1 hour from Boston and still in MA). Then, the event was changed to [redacted], NH. (this was annoying, but not a big deal because the new location was only a few minutes from the original one). However, about 1 week from the event date, the location changed AGAIN. This time to [redacted], Maine. This new location is over 2 hours away from Boston. With my work schedule and start time for the event, it is a huge hardship for me to attend. If I wanted to attend, I would have to find transportation to Maine late Friday and then find a hotel, both of which would require me to spend money. Not only that, but because of the venue change, my teammates have dropped out, and I would have to participate alone. My original contract with Mudderella was for an event to be held for and in BOSTON, MA, NOT MAINE. I would never have signed up for an event in Maine. The subject matter of the contract is now unlawful, as my payment was based on a Boston event. The contract should be voided after the location discrepancy. I have purchased 2 spectator tickets and 1 participant ticket for which Mudderella will not refund me. Any fair or decent company would not make such drastic changes at the last minute and not offer participates a refund or compensation. There is only one way to contact the company (through an email request form), I have not been able to locate a phone number for them. I did use the email form, but the responses were not helpful.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for my participant ticket (95.55) and my spectator tickets (23.24), for a total of $118.79

Sincerely,

Review: Mudderella offered a race in the Boston area and has switched the venue at least 3 times. The final switch of venue was to Maine. In their words "only an hour and 15 minutes" from the last location. I paid for an even in Boston I would not have signed up to drive 3 plus hours for a race! They offer a transfer of your ticket to next year but no date. Who's to say there will be a Boston location next year. The company has stopped responding to emails, [redacted] and [redacted] posts. A full refund of my $106.18 is what I am demanding.Desired Settlement: A refund to my credit card of $106.18

Response:

Sincerely,

Review: This company advertised, promoted and agreed to, by virtue of registering me, its customer, "Mudderella-Boston 2014". The location of this event has changed multiple times, at first in Massachusetts to [redacted] and to [redacted], and then most recently to ANOTHER STATE. The change to [redacted], Maine was announced by Mudderella on 8/**/14, just 8 days prior to the scheduled event on September *, 2014. I contacted the company on that date (8/**/14) to request a full refund of $106.18 for the price of the event, and was informed, by their customer service by email that I would not be refunded and was offered a transfer of funds to a 2014-2015 Mudderella event. This response and offer is completely unreasonable, given the company not rendering the service described, and also given that the currently listed future Mudderella events are in other states- there is no upcoming listed Massachusetts event. And, even if there were, how could I now (or ever) be certain that this event would be held in the state in which I have registered for it in, based on Mudderella's actions thus far?Desired Settlement: I am therefore requesting a refund in full ($106.18) for this company's failure to honor their agreement with me, their customer.
