Review: Mudderella Boston event is now being held in Maine. The company has changes the event location twice. Only a little over a week from the event they moved it from Massachusetts to Maine, making it impossible for me to attend. My original payment and agreement were for an event to take place in Massachusetts. In lieu of a refund, the company is only offering an option to transfer our payment to another event taking place on an unknown date and an unknown location. This is not acceptable. I should be refunded and then if an event occurs next year in a suitable location I can register for it at that time, if I so choose.Desired Settlement: Voided contact and refund by credit to my credit card of a check.

Review: My team members and I have collectively spent over $1,000 to attend this event, non refundable. One week before the event they have changed the venue to TWO HOURS away from teh original location, making our travel time over 6 hours. They refuse to reimburse my hotel expenses because I didn't book it through their site, and refuse to refund our registrations. The do not provide a phone number, and keep replying to my email inquiries with the same uniform message.Desired Settlement: I need my two rooms, two nights each hotel reservations reimbursed, and all of my team's registrations to be transferred to 2015 NY/NJ event. I can provide documentation of my non refundable hotel room reservations based on the original location.

Sincerely,

Review: This company originally scheduled an event in [redacted], MA which I signed up for in February 2014. This location is a little over two hours from my home but was doable and my team made reservations to stay in the area. From this point, the company changed the even location to [redacted], MA which I was surprised about but since it wasn't that far from the original location, I wasn't too concerned. Now we found out a week before the event that the company has decided to change the location AGAIN to [redacted], Maine. This new venue is 1.5 hours from [redacted] and the change is unacceptable a week prior to the event given that so many have signed up for an event they believed was close to Boston as advertised, Mudderella Boston. The company refuses to give refunds but instead tells participants they can defer their registration fees to another event in the area which is not even scheduled! The ethical thing to do is to offer refunds for those that simply cannot make the long drive to [redacted], ME and cannot get their money back from accommodations they already made in the Boston area.Desired Settlement: I want a refund! I want the choice to attend another Mudderella event not have my money held hostage because of their poor management.

The company still refuses to offer a refund. I've contacted my credit card company and am in the process of disputing the charge through them.

Review: I signed up for Mudderella Boston race in [redacted] MA in April at a cost of $191.10. I signed the companies waiver that states there will be no refunds if the event is cancelled or I am unable to attend. The company changed venues to [redacted], Ma last month which was not much of a travel change for me, but then I received an email yesterday(8 days before race) that stated the venue had been changed to [redacted], ME. The company said they would not refund race costs but participants could transfer to a future race, but there are no future races to transfer to. Many participants can not travel that distance and are losing hotel expenses, etc. This company broke the contract agreement with an unreasonable venue change.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my race fee for myself and my sister.

Review: I had signed up for a race Mudderella was hosting in Haverhill, MA back in June with the event taking place on September *, 2014. About 3 weeks ago the venue changed to Amesbury, MA which wasn't too big of a deal. But then Saturday August **, I saw proof online from their official FB account that they changed the event to be held in Westbrook, ME. I had never received and email telling me of said change. I have sent emails asking for a refund that of which they refuse. This is a classic bait and switch. They promised the event Mudderella Boston and have now changed the event to be held in Maine less than a week before it takes place.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded my complete purchase price of the event which is $106.18 and for this company to be shut down. They are promising people and event then changing locations just before and refusing to refund any moneys. This company clearly is a scam. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Review: This is an event called Mudderella Boston to which I signed up. The event has been moved 3 times with very little information given as to why. Much of the event is still unplanned including parking arrangements. The third venue move of this event has been to the state of Maine. This is nearly 3 hours away from my home and is in fact not "Boston" area. I cannot attend this event as it is a 5-7 mile physical course. I would need to drive 6 hours that day. To advertise this as a Boston event and move to the state of Maine is unacceptable and unlawful. No refund is being given and they expect people to transfer their money if they cannot make it to a Mudderella event in 2015. I refuse to attend another event by this company and I do not know if I will be able to attend something as late as next year anyway. A refund must be given for this. This is false advertising and failure to refund.Desired Settlement: I paid $85 for this event when I signed up in March 2014 and I want a full refund since I am not able to attend this.

Sincerely,

Review: I signed up for this Mudderella Boston race back on April **, 2014 with several of my coworkers. The venue was initially in [redacted], MA. Then was changed a second time to [redacted], MA which still was still alright with our team as an 1 1/2 commute not to bad. However this past Friday I believe it was we were told that the venue had changed a third time to [redacted], ME [redacted], now what was a 1 1/2 hour commute now turned into over 3 hour commute. Now the company is refusing to refund any of us our money. I feel this is completely inappropriate of them to do seeing as from the beginning its been advertised as Boston, MA. Now the only option the give is to transfer to another race in 2015, there appears to be nothing in MA available (not that we have any faith in this or want any part of their races in the future). Their customer service has been terrible as well after this information was disclosed to us. There is no number to get ahold of them. There is an email on their site but when you ask about a refund they just send you a generic email saying they aren't giving any only transfers. This is disappointing and I feel a terrible way to run a business. I know today fox25 was talking about a class action lawsuit I as well as my teammates are hoping this will resolve and we will get our money back potentially. This race cost $106.18. Thank you and I hope I sent enough information. There website is lousy and not a lot of useful information there. Thank you!Desired Settlement: I would like my money back definitely! ASAP

Review: I purchased a place in the Mudderella Boston race for Sept *, 2-14. One week before the event, the venue was changed to Maine -making a one hour drive to a three hour drive just to get to the event. I am emailed Mudderella stating I want a refund as the venue change is quite a distance from my expectation. They have not emailed me back. On their website, they will allow you to transfer to another race - but no local races are on the calendar.Desired Settlement: I want a refund as they cannot guarantee there will be a desirable location for me to transfer too.

Review: Mudderella is an event that was advertised on groupon and many other sites to be held in [redacted]. 7 days before the event is to take place on 9/*/14 an email was sent to customers of the event stating the venues had changed. After 7 months of planning this event and arranging hotels, parking passes, travel time, work time off etc the event changed from [redacted], MA to [redacted], ME. tripling the amount of time of our commute to 3 hours. Me and my team decided we were not going to be able to attend the event. Please note we are also unable to receive our refund for the hotel and parking! The email I received said we cannot get our refund due to the inconvenience for Mudderella as they have been preparing for 1 yr to organize this event. Well I have been planning for 7 months and it wasn't expected that it was going to change. I planned myself and lost out on $85 for the event ticket and $40 for a hotel. Now isn't that not inconvenience?? Sounds like they only care about how much time and effort it took them to put into the event but not the people supporting the event for them! I understand the preparation it took but this is no reason for the event to hold our money because we cannot attend now beyond our control.Desired Settlement: I want my money back in full refunded to my debit card where I made the purchase. I will no longer do business with this company. Please read all the comments regarding this event and how upset customers are that they are not receiving their refunds on Mudderella's [redacted] page!!

Sincerely,

Review: I registered for the September [redacted] Boston Mudderella Obscacle Race on 3/*/14, paying a total of $84.93. The event was advertised as "Mudderella Boston." At that time, the event was scheduled to be held in Haverhill, MA, which is approximately 1.5 hours from my house. The event was then moved to Amesbury, MA. This was a bit farther, at about 1.75 hours away from my home. Both of these locations were still within a reasonable distance from Boston.

On Friday, August **, 2014, participants received another email stating the event has again moved. This time, it has been moved two states away to [redacted], ME. This change would double my traveling time, requiring a 3 hour drive. As this is no longer feasible for me (along with many other registered participants), I believe we deserve a refund. I understand that registration can be transferred to a future event. However, there are no scheduled events within the area and I honestly am hesitant to do business with a company that I no longer believe is reliable.

I understand that the change of location was supposedly out of their control. That said, any other race that has had to change location or date ALWAYS offers a choice of refund or transfer. I would never have registered for this event had it been originally scheduled in Maine.

Emails to Mudderella have only gotten generic replies. They do not have a phone number listed anywhere.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my $84.93 registration fee.

Mudderella refuses to issue a refund. The only contact I have received has been email citing their no refund policy. They do not provide a phone number where they can be reached.

Sincerely,

Review: I signed up for Mudderella Boston 2014 in February 2014. When I signed up I did so expecting an event approximately 1.5 hours away from my house. 8 days before the event the locaction was changed from an area in Massachusetts to Maine making my drive now be over 3 hours one way. Mudderella has offered to transfer the registration to a future event, however, since the 3 events currently scheduled are even further away and there are no events scheduled for 2015 meaning there is no guarantee any future events will be close enough to attend. In addition I will be leaving the country in 3 weeks in order to complete a 12 month Masters program which makes it almost a certainty that I will not be able to attend a future event in 2015.Desired Settlement: I wish to have the full cost of my registration refunded to my checking account.

Sincerely,

Review: Mudderella advertised a race in Boston, Ma.. The location has now been changed twice . The most current location is in Westbrook , Maine. More than 90 minutes from Boston. Mudderella is stating no refunds even though they changed the location just 8 days before the race. This is an expensive race and we deserve refunds as the drive is much longer than anticipated. Please help us get our refund.Desired Settlement: Full refund. Not to pick a race in 2015.

Sincerely,

Review: Signed up in feb/march 2014 for September 2014 event on [redacted], Ma. A few weeks later the location was changed to [redacted], Ma. 8 days before the event the location was changed to out of state. Changing to an out of state location for me personally would require a significant increase in gas and also a hotel room. I am not able to attend now. They are stating no refunds will be given. They gave an option to transfer the tickets to their event next year but are unable to give a date or location. I had paid $85 for my ticket. I did not sign up for an event out of state, nor would I have. I signed up for an event 1 hour away and it's now been moved out of state which is about 3 hours away. Unacceptable.Desired Settlement: I want the company held responsible.

Review: I registered for the Boston Muderella (Tough Mudder is the parent company and I was unable to find Muderella as a company) on April *, 2014 for an event to take place September *, 2014. The location originally listed was [redacted] in Massachusetts. The venue was changed from [redacted], but the change initially was reasonable in distance from the original site. I received an email yesterday from Muderella stating the venue has changed again. This time the event is to take place in [redacted], ME. This is a 2 hour increase in travel from the original site of [redacted]. I do not feel that this is a reasonable substitution for the original product that was advertised. Muderella is not issuing refunds, as the original contract states that refunds will not be issued. They are allowing us to change the venue; Virginia is the next closest venue listed. I acknowledge that I entered into a nonrefundable contract but I do not feel that Muderella/Tough Mudder is upholding their half of that contract. I would not be seeking a refund if the venue hadn't changed.Desired Settlement: I would like to see my $95.55 registration costs refunded.

Review: My daughter and I purchased entry to Boston Mudderella scheduled in [redacted], MA. The company then announced that the location for the event was being moved to [redacted], MA which is farther away. Last week an email was sent stating that the location has been moved to [redacted], MAINE. I cannot commute to [redacted], ME for a morning event that originally was scheduled to be a 45 minute drive from my home. I do not even know if my car would be able to drive that far due to a mechanical issue at this time and I cannot afford to pay for a hotel to stay over the night before and the company is refusing to give a refund. I cannot understand how this organization expects individuals to commute to a state to participate in an event that they did not sign up for!Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for myself and my daughter
