Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  Onsite at Elmira, New York during the week of July 25, 2016, Mr. Rudy C[redacted] contacted me by phone about a 2016 Nissan Rogue AWD S automatic from TRUECAR car buying service referral pricing.  On three separate phone calls, Mr. Rudy C[redacted] stated that he can meet the Consumer Reports TRUECAR PRICE $19,877 Car Buying Service Printout.  I asked him distinctly and, straight to the point, the price of the 2016 Nissan Rogue AWD S price $19,877 is the exact purchase price plus document fee $400 excluding taxes and motor vehicle registration fee.  I told him I am currently working on temporary assignment in Elmira, New York and I would have to drive 453 miles round trip to the Route 46 Nissan Dealership, 440 Route 46 East, Totowa, NJ  05712.  Mr. Rudy C[redacted] gave me an absolute assurance that he is a TrueCar Dealer and that is the absolute price excluding just taxes and DMV registration fee with a $400 document fee.  Mr. Rudy C[redacted] was made aware on the three phone calls that I was driving from Elmira, New York to his dealership.  On July 28, 2016 at 2:30 pm, he called me by phone and insisted I come to his dealership from Elmira, New York to purchase the vehicle at the TRUECAR PRICE of $19,877 plus document fee of $400 excluding the DMV registration fee and taxes.  Mr. Rudy C[redacted] insisted that this is a honest deal and there is no other hidden fees.  Mr. Rudy C[redacted] also stressed that I just have to come into the dealership today, July 28, to sign the contract and put a deposit on the new red 2016 Nissan Rogue AWD S that is on the dealership parking lot.  Mr. Rudy C[redacted] never mention about the $2,000 Dealer Loyalty Incentive in any of the phone conversations.  Mr. C[redacted] indicated that he would be at the Nissan Dealership waiting for me to take care of just signing the contract paperwork.  Mr. Rudy C[redacted] works for Route 46 Nissan and would have definitely known from Nissan computer customer listing database that I was not a previous customer at his dealership.  There was no way that he did not know that I was not a previous customer at his dealership.
When I got to the dealership on July 28 at approximately 6:30 pm, Mr. Rudy C[redacted] was nowhere to be found.  Instead, Mr. Schuyler M[redacted] and Mr. T[redacted] gave me phony excuses and pretended to contact Mr. C[redacted].  I show Mr. Schuyler M[redacted] the TRUECAR PRICE $19,877 document and Mr. Rudy C[redacted] email and Mr. Schuyler M[redacted] refuse to honor it.  They tried to persuade me to buy the 2016 Nissan Rogue AWD S red color at a price of $24,000 plus.  Mr. Schuyler M[redacted] tried to deceive me and insisted that the TRUECAR Car price Service printout is for a different package vehicle which they do not have.  They even have the nerve to mention that I was not willing to compromise.I stormed out of the dealership at 8 pm driving 227 miles back to Elmira, New York in my own personal vehicle and returned back to the hotel at approximately 2:30 am.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I went to go pick up my license plates and car registration on Friday, 07/17/2015. The same Sales Manager Rich, whom I had dealt with two weeks...

ago, approached me at the cashier and said he was told to contact me and he was going to call me the next day. I told him that I hadn't received a phone call prior to me going and I didn't have time to stay. He said he would contact me Saturday to set up a time to come in and I haven't received any phone call or e-mail. This is the same Sales Manager that got nasty with me two weeks ago and I really do not wish to speak with him as his demeanor is anxiety inducing. I wish to speak with his supervisor or president of that dealership.

Review: purchased car and had to have it safety inspected in maryland and it failed due to the front struts leaking and a link pin missing. I feel this repair is covered by the warranty, and it just so happens to be a repair that also causes it to fail inspection. I have email exchanges and voicemails that would leave me to believe they had every inention to honor the warranty/repairs. now they do an about face and say they will extend 'a good faith' and pay for half of the costs saying that they don't guarantee out of state inspections. it just so happens the parts needing to be fixed caused the car to fail inspection, I am not seeking them to guarantee inspection just to honor the warranty and costs.Desired Settlement: for route 46 nissan to pay/honor the warranty and cover the costs and to not hide behind the fact that the repairs needed just so happen to make the car fail a safety inspection.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. while the matter is 'resolved' in terms of pure exhaustion of having to get the Revdex.com, Consumer Affairs and an attorney involved, this is in no way satisfactory to me.

Is there a way to one, close the case, but two ensure that this complaint and the details surrounding it be made available to consumers and for this to not be a positive resolution on their part? if not, I will look to reopen a complaint and reject their resolution attempts in order to ensure they receive the negative attention they so deserve.

Regards,

Review: When I went to Route 46 Nissan, we negotiated on the base price of the car as being $13,995. I had to argue for them to allow me to use my [redacted] check because they tried to tell me they usually don't accept any offers except their own vehicle loans. I was pretty adamant about using my own [redacted] and almost walked out the door until the salesman agreed to my terms. After signing the documents, I was shown a screen that stated my total price was close to $17K. This surprised me because I had already done the calculations in my head and was skeptical about it jumping three grand. The finance manager told me there was a $995 used car fee in addition to documentation fee, paperwork fee etc. He told me it was government regulated and there was nothing he can do about it. I was annoyed that he told me after I signed the documents and was kind of rushed out. As I was walking out, he handed me a copy of the receipt but no where does it show the $995 used car fee. It shows all the other fees (like taxes, registration, documentation) but if one were to look at the receipt, it looks as if the base price is $15,000. When I asked if he can print me another receipt showing this extra fee, he said no it could not be done. A few days later, I spoke to a co-worker about this and he advised to file a complaint for misleading information. I later looked up the used car fee and found out it isn't government regulated. On top of it all, I had forgotten to sign my bank check and had gotten a notification to come in the dealership to sign the check. I called a few times but no one returned my call. However, I was informed by [redacted] that my signature was forged on the check and therefore my bank is doing an investigation on this matter. I do not understand why did this because I would have come into the dealership anyway and I am very angry. I would like to be reimbursed for the misleading information before I take further action.Desired Settlement: $995 for used car fee being returned

$1000 for forging my signature

Review: On June1, 2015, I went into Route 46 Nissan dealership to purchase a car; with my 2003 [redacted] as a trade in. After going home; I reviewing the paperwork and realized that I never received any credit for the [redacted]. I called Nissan on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, to speak to the salesman Sergio R[redacted] Sergio wasn't in that day; so Skyler who indicated he was Sergio's manager came to phone and I told him that I wanted the [redacted]r back, Skyler stated that I couldn't get it back because it was no longer on the lot; it's at the auction. I stated that how could you auction it off when I'm still within the 72hour window. Sklyer stated that we don't kept the trade ins on the lot. Needless to say; I was upset. On Thursday, June 4, 2015, I received a call from Sergio, who asked how I was doing? I mentioned to him that I'm an "UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER" .I would like my [redacted] back. Sergio said that it's at the auction, but he would look into it and call me back. A week later, on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, I received a call from Sergio not letting me know the status of the trade-in, but, asking for the title on the [redacted]. I mentioned to him that you guys just took the [redacted] and gave me nothing for it. I would like it back. On Thursday, June 11, 2015, I received a call from Jennifer at Route 46 Nissan. I asked her if she worked for Mr. E[redacted] She stated that she's the public relations person at the dealership. I explained the situation to her and she said she will look into it and get back to me. Instead, I got a call from "Skyler". He mentioned the same thing that it's at the auction and they really need me to bring in the title. I said to Skyler, that you guys just took my car and never gave me any credit for it. Skyler stated that although its not in the paperwork, we did give you something for it. I disagreed with him. He also stated that he will see if he can get me $100.00 will I bring in the title. I told him I'll think about it.Desired Settlement: The outcome I would like (a) Return the [redacted] because there was not credit for a trade in; or (b) apply the [redacted] to any outstanding down payment as paid in full and receipt of same in writing.

Review: During the purchase of the vehicle, Route 46 Nissan sales manager agreed to have a vehicle alignment performed on the vehicle. After driving the vehicle home, the alignment was off. I attempted to contact the sales manager and sales associate. I left the sales manager two voice mails and two emails requesting assistance and I spoke with the sales associate who informed me that that he (the sales associate) informed the sales manager of the issue and they would get back to me. The vehicle was in need of an alignment, so I had one performed.Desired Settlement: For Route 46 Nissan to pay for the cost of the alignment and the new tires that are needed because they did not meet there contractual obligation.

Review: On September 25th I went into Route 46 Nissan because I wanted to buyout my lease. I had a payoff quote from Nissan Finance for 23,677.64. I sat with Brett and told him I wanted my payments to be around 350 a month. He came back with 375.84 a month with a down payment of 3,500 which I was not happy with but I accepted.

I sat with Finance Manager Wagner A[redacted] and first issue was payoff amount jumped to 24,477.64 which was 800 more than the payoff quote. He explained that Nissan Finance charges 300 for the lease buyout and there was an additional 500 but he could not really explain it. They gave me a 500 rebate they gave me that wiped out the additional 500 that did not make sense. Wagner told me he had to give me GAP insurance which was 500 in order to get the interest rate of 4.66%. Wagner tried to sell me an extended warranty which I did not want. I said I do not need it. He said well I will at least make it certified pre-owed which will give you an additional 3 years and 30,000 miles on the powertrain warranty. I said no I do not want to pay for anything additional. He said no I will just do it. I said as long as I am not paying for it fine. I do not need the certification because I already have [redacted] for towing; I have rental reimbursement through my car insurance; and trip protection through my company. When I arrived home I was able to read the paperwork and there is a charge of $1,000 for the warranty included in my contract.

I did not say anything until yesterday because I wanted to make sure I had my plates in my possession to avoid the dealer trying to pull any stunts. Once I had my plates, I mentioned to Brett that the certification was not free that it was built into the price and his response was “when I receive the paperwork from Nissan in the mail in the next couple of weeks to write a letter and bring it in for a refund.” That is unacceptable because a month will have already passed and they will give me some line about it being prorated.Desired Settlement: It is only fair that I receive a full reimbursement of 1,070.00 which is the 1,000 warranty plus the 70.00 for sales tax which I indicated numerous times I did not want. As it stands if that 1,070.00 was not financed my payments would have been approximately 358.65 versus 375.84 which is a difference of 17.19 a month. If you multiply that by the 75 months I have financed the car for I stand to lose 1,289.25 over the course of the finance terms.

Review: When I purchased my vehicle from the dealership I also purchased GAP insurance. That vehicle has now been paid off and GAP insurance was never used, which entitles me to a full refund. I have confirmed that my GAP contract was canceled in September. The dealership is now responsible for my refund of $600. Every time I call and speak with [redacted], my financier when I purchased the vehicle, the only response I get is "I can't get a hold of accounting" or something along those lines. I should have received this refund in the first week of October. A month later and no one can give me my refund. I was told to talk to [redacted] the Sales Manager and I only get his voice mail with no return calls.Desired Settlement: I want the refund of the GAP insurance that I'm entitled to for the sum $600.

A check was cut for [redacted] on October 23, 2014 in the amount of $484.43. The policy had been active since he bought the car back in January so [redacted] does not get a full refund he only gets a pro-rated refund for the time on the policy he did not use. Customers only get a full refund if the policy is cancelled within 60 days of purchase. A copy of the check has been provided.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I do have 1 question though.

Review: I have purchased a Certified Preowned 2011 Nissan Rogue in September 2014 from Rt 46 Nissan dealership. On Feb 25th 2015, my wife, was involved in a minor accident while driving the vehicle. The only visible damage at that time was the front license plate dropped and the Nissan emblem. On Feb 26th, we took the vehicle to the dealership's service department. As they opened the hood, myself as well as the service team noticed damage to the reinforcement bar. All of the service team who looked at the vehicle at that time (Service manager as well) mentioned it was possible that the vehicle was involved in an earlier accident even though they can not confirm as they didn't see the damage on other car involved . They have referred us to an Autobody shop. The manager at the auto body, after looking at the license plate ( which is not bent) while the reinforcement bar which is about 10+ inches inside the bumper being bent exactly behind the license plate, thought that the damage could be pre-existing. They have recommended us to talk to the sales manager. I have taken the vehicle back to the dealership to the sales manager Dan on March 7th. Dan brought in used car sales manager Gary and they have asked if the bumper was replaced. I mentioned, no work was done on the vehicle. They have asked me to come back on Monday March 9th. on 9th, Gary asked me to come back the day after. When we went back on 11th, Both Gary and service manager, Phil insisted the damage looks fresh and they would not have sold the car with the damage. Then, I have taken the car to my insurance company's auto body shop for estimate. Insurance company's review team looked at the damage on this car as well as the other party's (involved in accident) car and informed me that the damage to the reinforcement bar happened at a height that is higher than the impact to the other car involved. Also, the internal damage does not match the external damage to the license plate and grill.Desired Settlement: Dealership should take cover the preexisting damage to the car. Also, they should thoroughly check the car for any other pre-existing damage.

Review: As part of the negotiations , the sales manager agreed that no negative equity (I owed close to $3,00.00 in lease payments on my Acura. I stated that I would rather wait then make a deal. He assured me that the deal would not include the negative equity. An amount of $445.00 a month was agreed plus another $14. 00 for Gap insurance. Which brought the final monthly payments to $ 459.89. I signed the agreement and brought it home. The next day I realized tha an additional amount of close to $3,000 was added to the vehicle price.

I called and left a message with the president of the company [redacted] and on the next day ,Friday I was contacted by the sales man.

He said he would call me back with answers but I felt it took too long so I personally went on Saturday and made an appointments to come on Monday. I must say that I was never told verbally the amount of time or procedures to follow if I wanted to cancel Leasing contract.

When I met with [redacted] the sales manger he admitted that their was negative equity in the price. He and his supervisor basically told me that I can't make a deal and then decide the next day that I don't want it. I then reminded them that putting negative equity in my lease deal was not part of the agreement. I told them that the car that they leased to me was a 2014 Demo car and that their should be room for them to lower my monthly payments to at least $400 since they were deceptive. I was then told they they would not do that. I also asked for a more detailed or itemized account of the lease as some things were not presented on the lease such as what I payed for GAP insurance. I was not provided with that amount.Desired Settlement: I would like to settle this issue by a reduction in my monthly payments to around $400 which would include my GAP insurance. I want proof that I have Gap insurance and a detailed report asto how they came up with their numbers. Also I was told that the 3,000 miles that were already on the car would not be held against my mileage I want that in writing.

Business

Response:

Everything was fully disclosed to the customer at the time of delivery. If the customer looks at his paperwork on the lease contract it states that you took the car having 3,100 miles so no the customer will not be penalized for the extra 3,100 miles. If the customer would like to come in and sit down with a manager and go through his paperwork thouroughly he is more than welcome to. The best days are Mondays because all employess are in, but can come in any day Monday-Friday.

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

The negative equity added to the lease was not disclosed at the time of my signing. When I met with the salesman he admittedthat it was part of the deal that I not have topayg gor any negative equity and then he admitted that he did it anyway. His name is [redacted]. I can provide my lease in which it is not even detailed as to how they came up with their numbers . Not even the amount of the Gap insurance is detailed. How could they have gone over everything as they say if it is not detailed on the actual lease of which I signed. These are deceptive practices. And they refuse to provide a full itemized report of all charges.

Regards,

Review: Bait & Switch. Researched 4 cars from their website ads. Got there & was told ALL 4 had been sold. Four business days later 3 of these cars were still listed for sale on their website.

Found a car we wanted to purchase. Made an offer that was accepted. Told dealer we had financing in place. Were told they don't accept out of state checks and we had to finance through them. We were assured they would match rate and terms.

Came back to complete the transaction and met with [redacted] in the finance department. He told us "sorry" they could not match our 2.15% rate and offered 3.2%. Reluctantly accepted. BC tried to have me sign the finance agreement before providing bill of sale. BOS when presented was incorrect. Base price of vehicle was higher than agreed deal. BOS redone to correct base price, however, BC handwrote in additional $995 and verbally said "all contracts have this charge". Did not detail or explain what this charge was for. Finance agreement had to be redone since they had the incorrect base price listed.

BC told us there was a 5% prepayment penalty if paid off prior to 3 payments/90 days. (After we left, we called [redacted] and was told this was not correct. BC lied.)

Registration/plates arrived at dealer. I was overcharged $50 for this. All document charges were already paid through the finance agreement, I was ONLY to pay additional funds for state registration (if higher than amount already paid through finance agreement), not document handling. I have disputed this $50 with my c/c company.

Called BC twice, salesperson once & VP [redacted] once to discuss with NO CALLS RETURNED.

We are completely dissatisfied with this car dealer and purchasing experience. My partner and I have purchased three other used vehicles from dealers and never had a bad experience. With Route 46 Nissan we were misled, lied to, overcharged and ignored when we tried to resolve the issues. I would highly recommend others stay away from this dealer.Desired Settlement: Immediate refund to credit card of $50 overcharge for state registration.

Immediate refund to credit card of $995 amount handwritten in on bill of sale with no description, no explanation and no validity.

Review: NISSAN 46 IS A RIP-OFF! I was lied to/taken advantage of when leasing a vehicle. It started when I received my vehicle which was delivered to me by salesman [redacted] at night. I wasn't allowed to see the actual vehicle I leased because I was told it was being cleaned. This vehicle did not drive the same as the one I test drove. So I bring it back 2 days later and expressed to [redacted] that I was not comfortable with this vehicle, its noisy when you accelerate and too many blind spots so I felt unsafe. I also asked for a copy of my lease which finance did not give me. I was told [redacted] would have it when the vehicle is dropped off, that was a lie! [redacted] said he could not find the lease and for me to come back or they would mail it. [redacted] said to come back and we will discuss switching cars. I leave and another salesman approached me and asked if I knew I had a 60mth lease and I said NO its 36mths. He said get a copy asap because [redacted] said its 60mths! I go back once again complaining! I test drive another rogue, different model but much better, however [redacted] said he couldnt do anything until I give him my word that I would fill out a survey and give him 100s so he could get a bonus and once I did that, he would show his boss then pull the deal and switch cars. I went back again but that never happened. His boss [redacted]" comes out and very rude says we are not switching. The car is now "used" and motor vehicle stuff is done. I called motor vehicle and the vehicle is still not registered or titled yet. LIE! Finally got lease then. Consumer affairs contacted [redacted] but I have not heard from anyone. I've been leaving msgs for president [redacted], [redacted] and not one person has returned my calls to assist/try to resolve this matter. The finance guy blocked info with his hand so I couldn't see what I signed and was rushing me and yelling, now I know why! I trusted these people and I got screwed! UNHAPPY CUSTOMERDesired Settlement: As promised swich into a more safe, vehicle I am comfortable with and negotiate lease agreement with a 36 month loan, as previously discussed. I should not have to pay $319/mo for 5 years. That is paying for the whole vehicle!!

Review: I went to purchase a car from Nissan 46 in Totowa NJ and when I inquired the car I saw online they said that the advertised price was discounted and only if we met the certain criteria we would be able to receive that price, which was not clearly shown. I purchased the car at the full price and when upon signing the sales contract, it had items not discussed to me. I was charged for a delivery fee for a used car that was on the car lot already and charged for window etching which the dealer claimed that they just completed for me. The widow etching was already done prior us purchasing the car and you can clearly see the window etching was old and worn out, but they did not have me sign any paper work or received any document for window etching. The fee was charged onto my contract and the finance person said It is required for me to take it if I was to purchase the car. I was also told to purchase GAP insurance and was told that I am required by law to take it. I felt very pressured in signing the contract and after receiving the car they only gave me 1 set of keys and that we can come back any time to get a second one. When I tried to get a second key the following week they said keys only can be made on tuesday from 10-12PM. When I took time off on a tuesday to have keys made and pick up my registration and plates they said I have a balance for the DMV fees even after I paid all the fees on my contract for plates and registration. When I asked about they claimed this was explained to me but was clearly not. I feel liked they promised me everything and said what I wanted to hear so I would purchase the car then after signing the contract they kicked me to curb and tried to rip me off as much as they can. Upon each visit to the dealership I waited over 3 hours to have any thing done and they kept me waiting without any estimated of time of waiting.Desired Settlement: I want them to refund the window etching and remove cancel the GAP insurance and have my auto finance agreement adjusted to show the refund. I want to see the total price of financing reflect the changes. I also want them to stop ripping people and practice better business ethics to future customers which will not be ever again.

Business

Response:

We will be cancelling the Gap contract that refund goes to the balance of your loan. We will also be sending a refund to the customer for the window etching and the destination charge. We apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused. The refund will take a few weeks to be processed.

Review: Nissan 46 did not honor the $750 coupon that is on their own website and the total price we agreed upon was close to $1000 more. I live in PA and I had called [redacted] and discussed a deal about a 2009 Toyota RAV4 Sport. I asked for $4750 for my trade-in and I was going to pay sticker price ($21k) for the car minus the online coupon that's prominently displayed on their website for $750. I told him I would make the 3 hour drive up from PA on Thursday 11/10/11. I arrived at the dealership and after going back and forth with the price, [redacted] came out shook my hand and agreed to $15,500 ($21k minus the $750 for the coupon and $4750 for the trade-in). When we went to the financing office with my wife and son, the gentlemen didn't go over the contract at all. He simply asked if we wanted to pay on the 10th or 15th of each month. I guess I was too trusting that [redacted] had drawn up the contract as we discussed. It wasn't until I got home that I realized that I had paid $16,500 for the car. Not only did [redacted] not honor my coupon, he charged me more than the car was listed for on their site of $21k! If you add the $4750 for my trade-in to the $16,500 the total is $21,250 which is $250 more than what it was for on their site (I have the printout). I called [redacted] and went over the numbers with him. He insisted he wasn't trying to get extra money out of me and he agreed that we did have a deal for $15,500 and that I would need to talk to his sales manager [redacted]. I talked to [redacted] and he gathered my information but I never heard back from him. I feel like a young family with little car buying experience was taken advantage of and I would like Nissan 46 to make this better.Desired Settlement: See Complaint Text

Review: Bought a vehicle 3 weeks ago and never received permanent plates, when I called dealership they were giving me runarounds and could not come up with a correct answer. 1 day before my temporary plate expired they tell me they wont release my plates beause I owe $125. they stated that DMV charged more and that I needed to paybeore releasing my plates not considering that fact that they never stipulated such information upon contract/negotiation. nevertheless on their own terms they charged what they claim was sufficient.Desired Settlement: $125 plate adjustment. I am an DMV Clerk myself and I am fully aware how much is a ** reg
