Noom

A typical scam in which you sign up for the two week trial, then they make it incredibly hard to cancel. I had trouble installing the app, so I started trying to cancel, but I found that I could only cancel by installing the app. This is the first I've seen of any phone number, but even this phone number just gives you more directions. There is no person you can talk to. They charged me $149, and I got exactly nothing.

Signed up for noon diet ...and the same day went on their app like they said and cancelled...now they billed my discover card 200.00 which was unauthorized...way too much money for me...I want that money credited...no phone numbers to talk to someone

I wouldn't even give this company a full star.I am writing this to help someone else from going through this. It is NOT a free trial. Thought I was following all the rules, tried this out and I was so disappointed it felt like it was just a computer generated responses so I emailed "my coach" to cancel before the "FREE" trial was to expire...I received a computer generated response saying "sorry to see you go" blah, blah, blah. Then I received an email from the noom team " We're sorry that Noom wasn't a good fit. We've canceled your subscription so won't be charged again in the future. Then a few minutes later received another email from "Christina" wanted feedback on why I decided to leave and if I had 30 seconds to answer a few questions but not to respond on the website. So I thought since I "followed the rules" and canceled before the trial period ended, and it was a "FREE TRIAL" I would not be charged the $10.00 and I also a 59.00 fee for a "meal and exercise plan so I emailed again and inquired about the charges on my credit card and received this response " Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, the trial charge of $10 is non-refundable since by registering for the Noom trial, you agree to this minimum charge. You were charged $59.00 for the add on meal and workout guides. This a completely separate charge from your Noom subscription since you do not need a subscription to Noom or the app to receive/use them as they are provided to you through email (whatever that means) This is why it isnot automatically refunded when you requested to cancel your Noom subscription.
My question is who/company charged me the 59.00???? I am still waiting for a response.

I wish I had looked here before signing up for this service. I did the free trial and then I signed up for a longer subscription, which I was happy to pay for because I was using the service. However, after a few months I stopped using it and deleted the app. So I was shocked to discover today that my *** was charged for an additional 8 MONTHS ($159.00) without any notifications from the company that the subscription was about to renew. In addition, there is no customer service person to speak to, the 800 number listed on *** only reaches a recording which tells you to go to the website. They also say they have a blanket policy of "NO REFUNDS" after the amount is charged regardless of the fact that I have not used the service in months, and will not be using the 8 Months of service that I have been charged for. I have written an e-mail to the support number on the website requesting a refund, and hopefully they will respond. Charging 8 MONTHS at a time for a "monthly" subscription is deceptive and a bad business practice, along with not receiving ANY notification in advance that it is about to be charged.

I never signed up for this my fb and gmail were hacked and my bank card info was stolen thru an app I ordered from thru fb! I get an alert from my bank that a non card present charge of $168.54 was taken from my account! I find out this is the app my card was used for and of course it says there is a phone # and or email but when you click to get the phone it or email the full # isn't not I'd the full email to the 5 ppl listed! What a joke! Really? This is the worst experience I've ever had. No reply from anyone on the app either down loading the app was the only way it seemed to be able to get thru to someone but that's not happening either! What a gimmick! And what are they charging for I've read thru their program and they don't give you any meals or anything. I think $168.64 is alot of money especially when you were scammed by being hacked! Shut this horrible place down please!

I noticed this morning I was charged $159 for a subscription to this app that I forgot about. I did not want to be charged the entire $159 and from my understanding of the agreement on the app, I was supposed to be charged only about $19 per month. The information regarding payments was unclear and I want to request a refund. I understand that I have started my first month subscription, but to be charged for the entire 8 months up front is a scam because the app tells you the monthly fee. A partial refund would be understandable because I have started the first month of the subscription but to be charged for the other 7 months is ridiculous.

Noom is a cash grab. I was told upfront once signing up that I was going to be charged around $17 a monthly fee after free trial. I only used the app maybe over 6 times. After two week trial was done, I was billed for 8 months which total up to $173.71 on my paypal account. I was not aware of being charged for 8 months. The advertisement said that I would be charged a monthly fee. If wanting to use Noom, be wary this might happen.

I joined during the trial and my schedule was too busy for me to gain from the app. I attempted to open the app on several occasions with no success. Finally I open the app log-in and it glitches. By this time my schedule picks up again (I'm a single parent, working and in a doctorate program). I try to cancel my subscription because I've done it before with no problem and again the app doesn't work. I look at my bank account and over 100 is pending from Noom. I want my money back because the app doesn't work!!

I cancelled my account last year. I asked my coach to cancel my account again this year since they charged me again $129.00 (2//2019). Today I checked my credit card to find Noom charged me again 129.00 for an account I no longer have.

2 month trial is a joke. I was billed $99 2 weeks into said "trial" I am sure they covered their butts in some email, but this is not what was clearly communicated. 2 weeks in is hardly enough time to determine if I want to commit. Deceptive and sneaky practice. They got their cash but lost a customer. Smart business model. I'll be warning everyone I know to steer clear.

This is a horrible money grab and scam. I am filing a unauthorized purchase and fraud charge with my bank because they charged me $157 dollars for this crap. I should of looked at their rating before I tried this horrible app out.

Scam alert!
I signed up for the trial period and agreed to the "Vollutary donation", after that they charged my accout for $199. Did not use the app even once during that period (life got busy). Says that they do not give refunds. They get your payment information from the "donation" and then go ahead and charge you, as if you agreed to sign up. Like so many other say.....money grab....scam!

Scam. They advertise a very sophisticated and personalized program and do not deliver. I am not sure what they are actually selling and do believe it is all empty promises. The misrepresent the service and related products in various ways designed to trick you into staying past trial period. So BEWARE trial period is a trick to autobill you. You cannot use any material part of the service during the trial period.

SCAM - downloaded the app to see what it was like. Have never used it since and now been charged for a 4 month subscription. No email information or notifications were received and I don't recall signing up for this charge!!! Shocking! AVOID at all costs!!!!!!

I canceled my free 2 week trial after 1 week. I was charged 10.00 for the free trial? I also ordered the DNA kit origin and never received the kit but was charged 39.00. I have messaged the company several days ago and I have had no response and there is no number to call. I would like my account refunded right away.

Tried to cancel my subscription on the day it started but they had already charged me with NO warning from the company. Bad business. I had a trial that ended and I cancelled it but was still charged saying no refunds. I feel I was scammed into this, and theres no way out. I want my refund back in my account and account closed indefinitely .

I began to sign up for a trial but did not complete signing up and today I had a $136.74 charge on my discover card. When I try to go through customer support to send an email I get a blue screen that says cancel in a box.

Like so many others,, I was charged renewal fee though hadn’t used program for many months. Noom refused to return the$$$
It’s unfair.
Other programs send reminder of renewal before it hits.
Also, the personal coach is a robot.
I will spread the word that Noom should be avoided.

The same thing happened to me! This is nothing more than a scam. I was interested and paid a "donation" to do more research. (Looking back I now understand that the "donation" was just a way to get info to charge me later.) I quickly determined that this program wasn't for me and didn't continue past the first day. Going to their support site, it says they will not refund after trial. I did not agree to an 8 month subscription at $159. at any time knowingly. I would not do that having already decided it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I thought I had not received an email or any confirmation, however there was one sent to junk mail (*appropriate place) that was dated for the last day of the trial. Even if it had made it to my inbox, there's no way of telling if I would have read it before the time to cancel. I contacted the coach like they say to do. She responded, but has said NOTHING about making sure I will not be charged again. I can figure that out without giving away money I did not knowingly authorize. Bottom line, this is an unethical scam, a money grab. The fact that that they have someone monitoring and responding to these complaints here on this site says a whole lot. I really just want a refund, even prorated would be fine. I'm contacting my bank and telling them that this is an unauthorized withdraw.. Since I can't find info to speak to someone directly, I will just continue reporting this to every agency I can find, hopefully saving someone else from getting ***.

Wish I had read these reviews before I signed up. Noom's D rating is well-deserved. The product itself is overpriced and poorly designed (I should know, I used it with full sincerity for months, struggling through major UI snags), but more importantly, their billing policies are shifty. They auto-renew without warning and if you didn't realize it was coming in time to prevent it, there is nothing you can do. Their "refund policy" is that they don't give them. There is no customer support phone number. Classic dark pattern and it should be illegal.
