I have had success losing weight with Noom. The calorie targets and guidance on food choices are different -- and more sustainable - -
from other weight loss programs that I have attempted. The daily learning component is kind'a hokey but nevertheless I have learned a few things.
My only complaint would be customer service. During my initial trial period, I attempted to contact customer service regarding a change to the plan for which I was to be billed. Following the trial period, I would be charged for a four month plan. However, after participating for about 10 days, I decided that a longer eight month plan would be more appropriate. I contacted my "goal specialist," Jose S, regarding the requested change and he directed me to the customer service e-mail. I never received a response to my inquiry. Accordingly, I am concerned that when my four month plan expires, I will have difficulty canceling and might have to engage my credit card company to reverse a second billing. Bottom line: they need a toll-free customer care line.
Loved the food logging, the step counter and recipes. After reviewing the coach and the groups I really didn’t need those features. I would have liked to continue but I can’t afford the 44$. I can’t afford that monthly.
It’s alright. The program itself has a lot of useful information that I’ve been able to incorporate into my daily life. The bad would be there were two weeks where the app was unavailable from 6:30 to 10:30 am. I assume it’s because the program encourages users to log on and weigh in first thing daily. As a result, not only did I miss two paid weeks of the program, but additional recipes I paid for and were part of my meal planning were unavailable, particularly if I was making breakfast. Seeing as I paid something like $160 for the program and $60 for the recipes, I don’t think 24/7 access is unreasonable. They did work with me to resolve it, but there was no offer of letting me retake the two missed weeks. The auto-renew I also think is a little dodgy. If people miss your program, they’ll pay to stay in it. Keeping it on auto-renew tells me most people won’t find the program useful after six months and the company is capitalizing on the complacency of its users. (Hey, it’s all psychology after all)
Noom provides helpful reminders and a tremendous amount of nutritional and psychological information - sometimes it feels like too much. It is cleverly packaged almost to the point of burying the point.
Food tracker isn’t the easiest to use, but becomes more user-friendly over time.
Coaching - it’s ok.
Community/group support - ok.
First off there should be a version for to read on regular computer. Trying to read these lessons on a phone all the time is hard. Weekend should have a off day of lessons and just log food and exercise. Having your coach send you a message once a week is kinda of lacking.
I dont like the color sysyem. I think as long as I keep to my calories everyday, I should be okay. I think it's good practice to remind people to eat green foods, but the yellow and red are dumb. The hashtags are annoying, the acronyms hard to keep track of, and rhe whole nerd thing is too corny.
I do like to count my calories and eat more green foods.
I love the food diary aspect of this and the daily articles. They are easy to understand and fun.
The parts I’d improve of noom are the food library and recipes. The food library is really small and calorie counts don’t always match the labeling on packaging. It also isn’t always super intuitive how to add new food. The *** app does an excellent job with this and might be a model to replicate. The recipes also feel very limited and the search field often brings up meals that don’t include the ingredient I’m searching for.
All advise is good but I’m not losing weight and I’m worried about cancelling after reading the other reviews. Better start working on it now!
I like the program content. I think the group is not successful - I like when you have message boards that are organized by interest/topic where you can choose your own adventure. I think the app needs work - the Fitbit synching has not worked right for me and the Noom help folks were unable to solve my problem.
Sticking with it because as I said I think the content is good and I like the daily set of things to do.
When I signed up for the service on *** Feb 19, I paid $59 for a customized diet and exercise plan. I contacted the company more than 5 times to request the plans But never received them. After more than 2 weeks of waiting for a response from the customer service department, I requested a refund to my PayPal account. I have received neither a refund nor a diet & exercise plan.

I find it unethical that this company refuses to offer even partial refunds upon cancellation of their program. There are a variety of reasons a person may need to cancel not least of which is that the program simply doesn’t work for them. The fact that this company bills for 4 months at a time while advertising a monthly price when setting up the trial is even less ethical. This is compounded by the fact the company does not respond to emails for 3-5 business days. This is the worst customers service and communication I may have ever received.

Not helpful at all, and there is no reminder that the subscription is renewing. Horrible customer service! Don't recommend at all!!!
So I figured I would try their trial period on the app. When signing up I believe it was about $20 a month after the trial period and they said how easy it is to cancel. I thought okay, great. Trial period ends I was prepared for a charge for the next month. They then auto-subscribed me for an EIGHT MONTH SUBSCRIPTION for a whopping $159 charge. That is such bad business practice and so sneaky. Eight months without my approval. From the looks of their reviews and instagram page, they have many people fall for this and then charge them a ridiculous amount. My bank won't help me, Noom won't help me. I am out of options and out $159 which I REALLY need. All because I wanted to track my food to lose weight. Very uncool.

What a scam. Beware! They charged $99 without authorization and there is no easy way to reverse it.
I signed up for Noom for 4 months. I lost some weight. Noom emails said my time was ending soon. But I continued to get daily emails from Noom. Then I got my credit card bill and was debited another $96 to Noom. When attempting to cancel, Noom said I was subscribed for another 4 months and no refund would be given even with out using the service. DO not trust Noom, they just want your money.
Do not subscribe to them. They have the worst customer service and the second you forget to cancel they charge you an exuberant amount of money (159 dollars). I can’t afford this. And they refuse to cancel. They are more corrupt than *** because at least they would give a refund if you forget to cancel prime. They are thefts and they should be ashamed of themselves because even canceling this program is a long process through the “app messaging coach”. This program doesn’t even work.
Don’t subscribe.
They have zero customer support or response.
I need technical help with app and no help provided.
I now want to cancel but the app won’t let me so they keep charging and I can’t even get to app yet.
I never even started the program. It never said it would charge me for the free trial. But they did.

Noom is advertising a free trial for 14 days for $1. The also state that you will be billed $19.87 per month after that. They never tell you that at the end of the free trial you will be billed the entire amount for one year. They send you tons of text messages, alerts and reminders about logging your food, do your activities, weigh in, but not once send an email or text reminding that your free trial is ending and that you will be billed. Further you must have the app downloaded to your phone to cancel your subscription in the app. I didn't have to have the app to sign up for the free trial. This is clearly a UDAAP violation of the FCRA.

This company is a scam. They charge more than advertised and offer no refunds. They'll give you a monthly price but then commit you to many, many months of talking to a computer rather than the wellness coach they promise.
