I tried to cancel my subscription and I was’n able to do that. Apparently there are a lot of people that faced the issue. I even wrote to their char.
At the end of the trial period the money were withdrawn without asking for any approval.
I got billed 100 dolars for an application that I didn t use. Also the problems they have with unsubscribe mechanisms seem intentional to me.

Dear ***, We’re so sorry to hear there was some confusion around canceling your 14-day Noom trial. Please know that integrity is important to us and we work hard to ensure that we equip customers with the information they need in order to cancel and that, if a customer requests to cancel, their subscription gets canceled before their charge date. We’re so sorry that you were unable to do this due to confusion during the purchase process. All subscriptions remain active until a customer explicitly requests for a subscription cancellation. Please know that we have a dedicated Customer Support team here at Noom, and that they monitor all refund and cancellation requests at *** (the email address we give all customers in their payment confirmation email) 24 hours, 7 days a week.In addition, we also have various FAQ pages where customers can find instructions on how to cancel ***
A full refund has been processed to the card we have on file. Thanks for giving Noom a try!

I gave my credit card information to this company when signing up for a "free trial". They advertise an app and a personal coach. After 48 hours, and having contacted their customer support line 48 hours ago, I am still unable to sign into the app. After calling a number for the company I've found on the internet, and which you, the Revdex.com, have listed as their company phone number - there is only an answering machine message - and no ability to either leave a message or speak with a company representative.

I am concerned this fraudulent company now has my credit card information, and I've just went online and have seen reviews of this fraudulent company having charge people like me without providing advertised services.

Hi ***, Thanks so much for letting us know about this, and for your patience while awaiting our reply. We're so sorry to hear that you had such trouble getting started with your Noom trial. It looks like you created your Noom account using your Facebook ID, which is why you would've had trouble logging in if you tried to using your email and password. We just changed your login verification to email and password as it's usually easier and results in less errors when trying to login. Please try logging in using *** and set a password using this link. Please don't sign in using your UPID, because it looks like it's already been redeemed, possibly while you tried finishing web enrollment (you'll get an error if you try to redeem it again). Once you're in your account, you can get started by contacting our Coach Concierge by selecting the blue chat bubble in the upper right corner of your home screen. She will set you up with a Goal Specialist so you can get started! Your trial ends on 2//18, so please let your Goal Specialist know before that date if you'd like to cancel to avoid getting charged. We want to extend a $20.00 credit to your Noom account to help make up for the trouble you experienced getting started, so if you decide to stay on past 2//18 you will be charged $109 instead of $129.Very best, The Noom Team

Much the same as previous reviewers - either a scam or gross incompetence has resulted in a now 7-month battle to get my Noom subscription canceled. I visited the Noom site in June, put in credit card info but did not select or purchase any of their products. Received an email the next day welcoming me to Noom and was then charged for a program I didn't purchase. Canceled it (which was tough - no human number to call, didn't have any of the on-line resources to use because I hadn't actually purchased anything or set up an account, so I had to email), they agreed to cancel, and thought I was done. Fast forward over two months after the cancellation and I see a charge on my account. I reached out and the explanation I got (again, via email) was that this was my "first month's charge." Huh? I canceled the program and I get charged for my first month over two months later? Fortunately I was reimbursed. And then the charges kept coming - four months of charges. Tried to call a number (found it under the Noom charge on my statement), only to be referred back to the on-line resources for canceling. Hit "0" for operator and was able to leave a voice mail - their office is open 10-6 M-F Eastern. Have resorted to emailing the same person who supposedly canceled my subscription twice and hope it gets resolved. If this is how they run their business, it sends a message about the quality of their product and coaches.

Hi ***,
Thank you so much for letting us know about this. We're so sorry to hear that you've incurred multiple Noom charges after we told you that your subscription was canceled. This is completely unacceptable and an unfortunate oversight on our part.
We issued refunds for all charges made to your account between the day you canceled (July 4th, 2017) and today (February 5th, 2018). You should see that credit in the next 2-3 business days. Your subscription is confirmed canceled, so you don't have to worry about getting charged by Noom in the future unless you purchase a new subscription with us.
Again, we're so sorry for the trouble here. We appreciate you giving Noom a try and wish you the best on your health and wellness journey going forward!
Very best,
The Noom Team

An advertisement for the company offered a trial period, tried to use the service and was not able to. Attempted to cancel the service right after during the trial period and the website would not cancel the membership. My bank has been charged $89.99 from a service I have yet to receive.

A refund was processed to this customer's account on January ***, 2018.

I want to add a complaint to those challenging the amount of time it takes NOOM to honor what if offers. I purchased an add-on service and they have yet to complete the transaction. I've emailed three times. They finally responded Friday and said there was a "glitch" and when I provided more information then within 12-36 hours I'd receive the piece I was waiting for. It's almost three days later and I'm again waiting.

Customers should be warned not to purchase add on services.
Customers should be advised that the customer service is lacking. They average about a week before responding to email.
Potential customers should read all reviews and weigh/compare this service to others. There are good parts to the service, for sure, but the overall Customer Service is lacking.

Hi ***, Thanks so much for letting us know about the frustrations with our customer service. We’re so sorry for the delay in not only receiving your customized exercise and meal plan, but for the delayed reply from our Customer Support team. As you pointed out in one of your emails to us, we received a large influx of new customers over the holidays and New Year which also flooded our Support inbox.

We went ahead and issued a $69.00 refund to the card we have on file for your account.

Thanks, The Noom Team

Thank you so much, Noom, and Revdex.com for getting such a quick response and closure. I appreciate Noom's honesty and Revdex.com's role in bring this to a close (Once I see the credit noted on my credit card bill). Thank you!

I signed up for a free 14 day trial with Noom, a fitness/weight loss app. During the initial sign up I indicated that after my free trial I would like to be billed monthly at $59.00. I intentionally signed up for monthly because I am notorious for not following through on fitness apps and didn't want to be locked into something. Well guess what?? I was charged $149.00!!! That amount wasn't even an option! I kindly asked for a refund and for my account to be cancelled. They responded and cancelled my auto bill, but declined to honor a request stating "I would still have access to the app for the paid time". Well I don't want the app and because I was erroneously charged!!! I want my account cancelled at once and refunded. I believe this is a scam. Please investigate!! Additionally, I have filed an inquiry and complaint with my credit card company.

Noom Inc Response • Jan 22, 2018

Hi ***,

Thanks so much for submitting your complaint. We’re so sorry to hear you’re feeling scammed by Noom. Please know that we do not fraudulently charge any of our customers, and that all prices are displayed as monthly breakdowns of a bulk price that is charged on day 15, at the end of your 14-day trial. You chose the 6-month plan for $149.00 at check out -- with this plan you're saving $211.00 over-all. The only way we are able to provide these major discounts is by charging the full 6 month charge up front. We are unable to change customer’s plans for them, so if you wanted a different plan ($59/mo price instead of $149 for 6 mos), you would’ve had to request a trial cancellation and re-sign up. If you were unsure which plan you purchased, our support team is around 24/7 to help answer your questions.

It looks like one of our Support Agents issued a full refund on the *** of January.

Thanks for giving us a try, we wish you the best on your health and wellness journey! The Noom Team

On December , 2017 I signed up for a "1 Week Free Trial" of Noom. They did require credit card information, however stated that if the trial membership was cancelled before the 7 days were up, no charge would be made to the credit card. After several days of membership, and completing a web search which found a lot of unsatisfied customers who had billing complaints, I cancelled my membership on January *, 2018, which was 2 days BEFORE the trial period was to end. Then, on Jan , 2017, I had a charge on my account for $129.00 from NOOM. I have tried calling the company at their phone number (which was not included with their website, I had to do a GOOGLE search to find it) at ) only to receive a recording that for billing questions I need to send an email to ***. Apparently, after a GOOGLE search, many, many other individuals have been having the same or similar billing issues.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. However, I would like to respond to Noom's suggestion that I had submitted a membership via their website, which was why my credit card was charged. I know for a fact, and even double checked my emails, that I did not ever subscribe to Noom via their website. The only trial subscription I have ever placed with them was via itunes, which was cancelled well before the trial expiration date, so my credit card should never have been charged in the first place. I greatly appreciate the Revdex.com's assistance in obtaining a refund.

Sincerely

I signed up for a 14 day free trial and was charged $149 immediately after the free trial ended. I contacted the company because I had not accessed the application or logged in since the free trial period and I wanted to cancel my membership and request a refund for the $149 charge. They responded back that they will cancel the membership but I was to contact them during the free trial period to avoid being charged. My issue is that they do not provide a phone number. All communication must be performed via the internet and I have not had access to the internet to send in my request. I feel that it is not fair that they are keeping the full amount of $149 without offering all possible forms of communication. I was traveling internationally and was not able to contact them. It was a matter of being one or two days past the free trial period.

In April of 2017 I cancelled my subscription to their service and received a refund of my first payment. Now I have discovered that they have continued to charge me for the service. Two additional payments have been taken, 9/2017 and 1/2018.

Hi ***,

Thank you so much for letting us know about this. We're so sorry to hear you continued to receive charges from Noom after having canceled. We looked into your account information and it seems you had signed up for two trials. The one tied to your Noom account was canceled when you requested, but the other remained active.

We wish you the best on your wellness journey!

I joined Noom for an 8-month program with a 14-day free trial period on 12/. After a few days, I asked my “coach” where I go to cancel and she cancelled my membership. That was on 1/*. I’ve been trying to contact someone at Noom to follow up on my refund, if and when I can expect it. Realistically, if I wasn’t going to receive a refund I would have just continued with the program. There is literally no point in cancelling and not having either (attendance or money returned). I send a follow up emailed on 1/and received an auto response advising me that my email had been received. I sent another email on 1/*** and today. I have not received any responses.

I received the following email on the day my account was cancelled (1/*):

“***”

I was charged for the full amount on 12/*** and am trying to inquire about my refund.
But in the email offers I was told

Noom Inc Response • Jan 16, 2018

Hi ***

We checked your account information, and because you canceled your trial within the 14 days, you were not charged a subscription price. The charge you are seeing is for the meal and workout plan you purchased the day you signed up for a trial. The workout and meal plan bundle does not come with a trial, meaning you are charged for that add-on to your Noom Program trial immediately upon purchase.

We went ahead and refunded you for the workout/meal bundle plan. You should see a $69 credit in the next 2-3 business days.

Very best,

The Noom Team.

Noom does not make it visible that if you do not cancel your account within 7 days that the $150 you will be charged is nonrefundable. They also don't allow reviews on their social media pages. Additionally, their customer service within the app takes forever to respond, I still have not gotten a response. In my opinion, as a marketing professional, these are predatory and unethical business practices and this company should not be in business if they continue to operate in this fashion.

In my personal experience, I thought I had cancelled the trial and I uninstalled the app. I didn't receive any email communication that the trial was about to end and only received an email from them after the fact stating that the account had been created.

Hi ***,Thanks for letting us know about this. It looks like one of our Support Agents responded to your email the following business day after you wrote in confirming that your subscription was canceled. We have attached receipt of this email to this response. Please review it when you get a chance. If you did not receive the attached email from our Support Team, it is very important that you let us know as there may be something wrong with the CRM we use to communicate with our customers.

Noom Coach is an app, and though you purchased on the web, you need to follow the instructions we give during the purchase process that explain how to install Noom so you can use the service. We’re not seeing that you activated your subscription until after your trial ended, which would explain why you were never connected to a Goal Specialist or Concierge. Please know that integrity is important to us and we work hard to ensure that we equip customers with the information they need in order to cancel and that, if a customer requests to cancel, their subscription gets canceled before their charge date. We’re so sorry that you were unable to cancel. The state you were in when wanting to cancel is one that customers shouldn't find themselves in if they follow the installation and purchase instructions we give post-purchase (we also send a text message to the phone number you give us on the check out page with install instructions). We will work on making additional cancellation materials that explain what to do for users in the same state you were in at the time you wanted to cancel.

As one of our Support Agents mentioned in their email to you on the ***, your Noom subscription has been canceled and the transaction refunded in full.

Thanks for giving Noom a try!

I purchased a lifetime membership to Noom Pro a few years ago. Since about March of last year I have lost the ability to be in a group on my app. I have emailed customer support every month or 2 since them asking why this happened if they are no longer supporting groups or if there is a problem with my app and no one has ever even responded to my emails. I have sent screen shots of the app showing the groups area is completely gone. I have some friends who use the app and are still in groups so I would like to know why I no longer have access to that part of the app which I have paid for.

Noom Inc Response • Jan 11, 2018

Hi ***,

We're so sorry to hear your questions went unanswered by our Support Team. Unfortunately, the product 'Noom Pro' was retired a couple of years ago, May ***, 2016 to be exact, which is why your Noom group has been empty for some time.

We sent out an email to our Pro customers back in 2016 to let them know of the upcoming changes we were making as a company and to our product. We apologize if you never saw the email or were caught off guard by the changes. Noom is still around, but we now offer what is called Noom's Healthy Weight Program, designed to help people improve their lifestyle.

We are sorry that your Pro subscription is no longer valid and have sent a gift to your email address to help make up for the trouble.

Thank you for being a long-time Noomer! We wish you the best on your health and wellness journey.

There is no way to reach a real person with Noom. I suspect that the entire business is AI. The "support" seems very AI and it is not responsive to you. I was charged $190 upfront on my credit card when I thought I was getting a "free trial." I cancelled on day 5 of the "free trial" and they stated I would not receive any further bills. Well, they already charged a full year and I want a refund, so I email their support. Suspiciously, the support "team" gives me the exact same words that I got from my "support" coach. I call the business, and they refer me to the email that I just used. I use the help and it refers me to the website and everything is a circle. I am extremely unhappy with this business and please be aware that it is not human "support" and you will have to file a claim with your credit card if you are not happy with your experience. The whole reason this is SO EXPENSIVE is because there is supposed to be live support. It is neither live nor support.

Hi ***,
Thank you for reviewing us on the Revdex.com. We are so sorry to hear about the negative experience you had here, please allow us to clarify:
When signing up for Noom, you chose an annual $199.00 *no trialsubscription. This specific Noom plan does not come with a 14-day trial, as stated on the purchase pages, but *doescome with a 7-day money back guarantee. We apologize that this wasn't clear at the time of purchase.
We see that you reached out to our Support Team, received a reply in less than 24 hours and were issued a full refund. Please know that not one of our Noom Coaches (or Support Gurus) are AI, they are real people! We wish you the best! Thanks for trying us out!

Noom Inc Response • Jan 11, 2018

Hi ***,
Thank you for your review. We deeply apologize for the confusion here -- all customers agree to Noom's terms and conditions when they sign up for the program. Please know that we do not have any way to access any customer's payment details without them willingly offering it to us by purchasing one of our programs.
If you do not remember signing up for the Noom program, we highly suggest contacting your bank as soon as possible to make sure your payment details aren't at risk.
It looks like our Support Team was in contact with you and issued a refund to your account.
We're deeply sorry for all this confusion, and hope that we see you sometime in the future so you can experience what Noom is all about.

I went through the first two weeks of this program and signed up under the impression that the quality of information being presented and the actual presentation of the information would stay the same. The third week was fine, but during week 4 the content and presentation completely changed. It is no longer engaging and the group has little to no interaction at this point. What I paid for is not what I am receiving. After I contacted customer support to express my concerns, they cancelled my autorenewal, but refused to refund me.

After I expressed my concerns AGAIN regarding the change in content (which they did not address in my first e-mail) they told me they do not refund. What I paid for is not at all what I am currently receiving. They provided excellent content for the first three weeks and now it is sub par and less than engaging.

Noom Inc Response

Hi ***,

I am completely disappointed in the product and the company. I purchased the product based on the first three weeks of programming - which then changed entirely upon purchase. I complained on the forum, which directed me to customer service. I wrote to customer service. I had no response. I again wrote to customer service - 10 days later - and finally received a response the next day which did not even respond to my request for a refund. I wrote to customer service again and have received no response.
It is entirely unfair to sell one product to a customer, change it upon purchase, and then NOT respond to complaint.

I signed up for Noom Coach at a discounted rate of $45/month (I was sent an email for this promotion during the free trial). Later on I realized I had been charged $99 twice a month (a total of 5 times). I was having problems accessing my online banking, so I didn't realize this until it was too late. At that point I cancelled the service entirely, expecting that a reputable business would immediately refund my money with an apology. There was no customer service phone number, so I had to email and 4 days later received a response that I would have to contact iTunes for a refund - this doesn't make any sense because iTunes didn't charge me the 5 payments of $99 - it shows on my bank account that those payments went to Noom.

As a result, your two duplicate subscriptions paid for through our site were canceled (subscriptions are automatically canceled when there is an issue processing payments). Please respond to our Support Team's latest email to you if you believe the charges you saw to be legitimate charges that did in fact deduct money from your PayPal account. Thanks for giving Noom a try, we're sorry it didn't work out! The Noom Team

Customer Response

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

There are 5 charges of $99 from Noom on the following dates: 10/*** 10/, 11/, 11/*** and 11/. I certainly did not sign up for 3 subscriptions, that would be ridiculous. I signed up once, and then received a promotional sale offer for $45/month. I cancelled my initial subscription in order to get the sale price. I even contacted Noom directly to make sure my first sign up was cancelled.

I am currently in contact with Noom program support (***). She has informed me that as of last night, Noom cannot locate records of these transactions. I am willing to send a screen shot of my bank account if require. I find it very odd that Noom does not have accurate records of credit card transactions and speaks to the integrity of the company.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely

Noom Inc Response

Hi ***,

We apologize for the difficulty you've experienced getting these charges refunded. As *** mentioned, the "POS PIN PayPal *Noom SAN JOSE" descriptor you're seeing next to these charges implies you were charged by PayPal, not Noom.
Our descriptor is as follows, and displays as such when a charge is initiated by Noom: *** We would be happy to issue these refunds if they were ours to refund, but we can't issue refunds for charges we didn't deduct from your account. You'll have to contact PayPal directly to get the refunds processed. Thank you, The Noom Team
