Dear Mrs [redacted],In reviewing the account #30097029 the subscription started on 01/03/16.  A payment in the amount of $17.94 had been paid on 12/31/15 for a prior balance and then on 01/04/16 the account was charged back since the initial payment had declined.  On 03/25/16 we received a...

payment of $127.63 which would cover the past due balance and current subscription.  The payment received extended the account until 01/08/17.  I've adjusted the account to reflect an expiration date of 01/08/17.   As of 10/23/16 we started the Spur's Nation magazine at an additional rate of $1.00 per week.  A postcard was mailed the the address on file and a option to opt out was given.  Since you don't want your expiration date to change I've changed your subscription back to the $2.00 rate and corrected the expiration date. Please note that due to Thanksgiving and Christmas premium charges this expiration date may change.  Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thank you,[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I was contacted by customer service yesterday by phone and by a manager by phone this morning and was told of the changes being made which should resolve the delivery issues.  Prior to the contact by the manager this morning, the paper was delivered at 0618, which prompted us to cancel our subscription.  Since a new delivery person will be on our route starting tomorrow, we will consider restarting our subscription in 2 to 3 weeks.

I am rejecting this response because: This is a perfect example of a business that keeps sending you items that you have not ordered and charges you for them.  No one at E/N can show you a billing statement that itemizes the charges.  There is no real pattern to their billings and no agreements are ever put into writing.  Customer relations is a concept they don't put any value on.  If the dollar amounts were larger I would continue to pursue this, but it is a waste of time.  It is no wonder that the newspaper business is failing if this is the way they do business.
