Online City Tickets Reviews (2190)

used this site for the first time. It was easy to use, but after placing the order is where it goes down hill. I received an email saying the order was confirmed and the money had been debited out of my account. 11 minutes later I received an email saying the order was cancelled. after speaking to someone via their "live chat", I was informed my order was locked and that I would need to call in to speak with an agent. I did just that, and spoke with an agent that said they couldn't verify my order, so they just cancelled. I he suggested next time I input the information in correctly, all of my info was correct and as a [redacted] card holder for several years with the same information, I have never used a site for tickets and experience this. he told me I can be transferred over to re-order the tickets, but couldn't promise the seats I selected were still available. this was absolute poor customer service.

Good service

Online City Tickets has been in contact with Ms. [redacted] and both parties have found an amicable resolution. As such, we consider this matter resolved. Online City Tickets

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this matter. At Online City Tickets, we value our customer and would like to take the time to address Ms. [redacted] concerns. It should be noted that Online City Tickets is an online resale marketplace, which means we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we...

merely facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. This fact is noted on every ticket and checkout page and at the top of our homepage with the statement: “We are a resale marketplace, not a box office or venue. Ticket prices may exceed face value. This site is not owned by any venue or box office.” In reference to her claim that she was not aware of the order total prior to purchase, it should be noted that this is inaccurate. Our website is user-driven, and no order can be placed without the customer having been made aware of all order and pricing details. When Ms. [redacted] selected her tickets, she was taken to our checkout page. From there, she was directed to review the itemized order breakdown, which clearly displayed the price per ticket, all fees, and the total price in bold text. Ms. [redacted] was required to agree to our terms and conditions—visible in a text box below this order total—and presented with the bold-text message “All sales are final.” At this point, Ms. [redacted] was also presented with the message “I agree to the sales terms and conditions above,” and checked a box signifying her agreement with this statement. During this process, Ms. [redacted] saw an even more in-depth order summary that displayed the number and prices of her tickets, delivery and service fees, and the total charge. Because customers are purchasing tickets owned by individual sellers, we must ensure that our policies are fair to both parties. This means that we are unable to offer cancellations and must adhere to an "all sales are final" policy—a standard throughout the industry. This policy is disclosed throughout the purchase process—from a notice on every ticket page to a sales terms statement displayed at checkout with the message “All sales are final. All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).”Regarding Ms. [redacted] claim that she was charged $537.37, it must be noted that this is inaccurate. As stated on our website, all prices on Online City Tickets' website are listed in US Dollars. Ms. [redacted] order total was $402.70 USD. We encourage Ms. [redacted] to follow up with her financial institution regarding any fees associated with the exchange from US to Canadian dollars. Online City Tickets has fully adhered to the terms and conditions that were agreed to prior to checkout, and has upheld our 100% Money Back Guarantee. Additionally, we have discussed this matter with Ms. [redacted] by phone and provided a resolution that, at the time, was amicable to both parties. If Ms. [redacted] has any further questions or concerns regarding this matter, we encourage her to reach out to our customer service team. As it presently stands, we consider this matter resolved. Regards,Online City Tickets

Complaint: [redacted] i  did not know what the total charges were until after I gave my credit card number, name and address.  If I was aware of the charges I wood not have purchased the tickets.  I am not familiar with [redacted] and did not realize that I have to open up an account  with [redacted] to get my tickets since I had already gave all my personal information to ON LINE TICKETS,  I feel the company is deceiving and under handled.
I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,

Great!

Thank you for the opportunity for clarification. Online City Tickets explanation is in odds with their sale process. The processes to ensure there is not a over price is not as described by them. It is a predatory practice to overcharge and deceit customers into buying a product for a price that was not the intended price. A complaint was placed with the Kentucky Consumer Protection agency to make other buyers in the state aware of their predatory practices. Based on their response, is easy to deduct that there are in business to con people out of their money. A company that follow ethical practices would accommodate without loosing revenue in order to validate their good business practices. Not the case here.
I made an experiment, and the online process described are not happening consistent at all times. Out of 10 purchases of various tickets, there were three different servlets operation in the interaction. Which points to either a targeted area of usage in the country by programming specific servlets, or a random usage for certain operations.
In the case of Online City Tickets, this was not the case. I am only asking for the refund of the overpriced fees. I am willing to pay for the tickets and a reasonable fee for the purchase, not the price they charged without disclosing the final charge.Any ethical business would honore the request, still keep revenue, and make their customers happy for return business. This seems not to be the case.
Without a resolution Online City Ticket will face a cancellation of the charges on Paypal, Complaints with the Federal  Customer Protection Agency, the Kentucky Consumer Protection Agency, and legal action which will include all legal fees, as well as research time and other expenses. Not only a bad business solution, but a demonstration of lacking ethics in business practices.
Most importantly, they need to stop taking advantage of people. I am very concern for the hundreds of people they have con into buying tickets at exorbitant and illegal fees that may not have the ability to stop this type of deceitful maneuvering.
Thank you for your work, and for protecting our interest. Most kindly
Dr. [redacted]

From the Revdex.com website
Pattern of Complaint
A recent review of Revdex.com complaints has delineated a pattern of consumer allegations against Online City Tickets. In their complaints, consumers allege that:
Online City Tickets did not disclose exorbitant fees during ticket ordering process. Also, consumers claim the company used third party websites to forward them to purchase from Online City Tickets. Consumers also claim they received incorrect tickets, including tickets with wrong dates, names, seats and wrong amount of tickets.
On January 19, 2015, Online City Tickets informed the Revdex.com of the following procedures they have in place to assist consumers with these concerns: Online City Tickets states that on every page of their site, including the checkout, they state that tickets may be above face value. To purchase tickets customers have to go through two screens in OnlineCityTickets.com's checkout. For a customer to complete any order on OnlineCityTickets.com they need to manually accept both checkout pages that each detail the full order cost.  They would like to repeat there are no additional charges that are not totaled and detailed on each checkout page.
Also, Online City Tickets claims they own multiple domains and that all are very clear as to their association with Online City Tickets.  Stating that this is a common practice for E-Commerce sites.
Online City Tickets responds to the last issue stating that with multiple transactions, there will surely be some unfortunate circumstances where customers do not receive the correct tickets. They claim OnlineCityTickets.com provides all of their customers with a 100% money back guarantee to rectify a supplier error. Also stating their policies are very clear that the name on the tickets will be different than the customers and that this is standard in the resale industry.
Per a May 20, 2016 review of newly closed complaints, the Revdex.com found that although Online City Tickets provided procedures detailing how they intended to address consumer concerns, the pattern of consumer allegations has continued. At this time the Revdex.com has found that Online City Tickets failed to alleviate the pattern of complaints and will continue to monitor complaints against the business.

Quick and easy. Surprised by high handling charges at end, but happy with service.

Would have rated a 10 if they had a best available option. Instead I had to select the most expensive. But I'm sure they will be great seats, Fox is a great theatre. Transaction was smooth and the email with the tickets came over in 30 mins.

City Tickets, we value our customer and would like to take the time to address Ms[redacted] concerns. This fact is noted on every ticket and checkout page and at the top of our homepage with the statement: “We are a resale marketplace. Prices may exceed face value. This site is not owned by any venue.”

In regards to Ms[redacted] concerns regarding the price of the tickets, or face value, it should be noted that the prices of tickets are set by the individual ticket sellers, not Online City Tickets, based on an assessment of a range of market factors, including customer demand. This means ticket prices may fluctuate at any time, and sellers are notified immediately when an order is placed. As a secondary marketplace, Online City Tickets is not directly affiliated with any artist or venue and does not generate tickets as a primary box office; rather, we act as an intermediary between fans and ticket holders. Since customers are purchasing tickets owned and listed by individual resellers, we must ensure our policies are fair to both parties. This means that we are unable to offer refunds and must enforce an “all sales are final” policy—a standard throughout the industry.

I ordered concert tickets and other than the service fee was pleased with the ticket price and was able to download and print them same day.

no problems with my order

Everything was good. I ordered the tickets and printed them

other sites allow us to pick our seats so this was a disappointment.
