Online City Tickets Reviews (2190)

I received my order, thanks

This website is very easy to use.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/09) */
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We take the customer experience seriously and would like to take the time to address Ms. [redacted]'s concerns. We should explain that OnlineCityTickets.com is an online exchange, which...

means we do not own or generate ticketsinstead, we facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. We have attempted to reach out to Ms. [redacted] to speak about her concerns, but we have not been able to reach her.
Ms. [redacted] is concerned that her tickets display a different name than her own. However, this is a common occurrence, and is not cause for alarm. Because listings on our site are owned by trusted sellers, the tickets come from these sellers directly to customers, and so may display the name of the original purchaser. We ensure that this is not an error, but simply information left over from when the tickets were first issued. All tickets are guaranteed to be transferable and valid for entry to their respective events, and customers are never required to present identification that matches the name printed on their tickets.
Ms. [redacted] has also expressed concern regarding the "face value" of the tickets that she purchased. That is the price printed on her tickets. Online City Tickets serves as an intermediary between sellers and customersthis means all ticket prices are set by the sellers. This fact is explained clearly on the final checkout screen and in our sales terms and conditions stating "Please note that the price you pay may be higher than the face value of the tickets you purchase....."Ticket prices may be above the "face value" listed on the ticket (they may also be below the "face value")." It is also explained on the left side of the checkout screen under Ticket Information saying "Price: Ticket prices may exceed face value."
As mentioned above, Ms. [redacted]'s tickets will be valid for entry and we are not able to provide her desired resolution per our sales terms and conditions that she agreed to. If Ms. [redacted] has any further questions or concerns, we welcome her to contact us.
Thank you,
OnlineCityTickets

I did receive my tickets from this company almost immediately. I just checked the website to see if the ones I bought are gone and they are.

So far so good and easy to use

Bait and switch. Purchased Milwaukee [redacted] tickets online for balcony section at $130 per seat, received downgraded tickets for loge section in second to last row for $43 per seat. Repeatedly asked for exchange of tickets of comparable value. Customer service reps said the tickets were an "upgrade" because they are closer to stage and fall in the "zone" seating category. They did not sell me what I ordered. They note on website that tickets are protected by 100% Money Back Guarantee. Online City Tickets is fraudulent.

It was easy to purchase and print tickets to the show I wanted to attend.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  The fact that the merchant processes "numerous successful transactions each day" has no bearing on the status of this particular transaction.  Further the fact that they are a "resale marketplace" does not change their legal obligation to me the consumer to disclose all necessary ticket information in a clear and object manor, nor does it legally or ethically protect them from providing refunds for acceptable reasons as they would like to imply. If they have a company policy which states, "all sales are final" they are outwardly misleading / deceiving customers with their headline banner all over their webpage which indicates there is a 100% money back guarantee.  Even if this guarantee is for different circumstances it is in no way clear to consumers.  Further, although the steps of the ticket purchase may be as they listed I do not believe nor to I consent to the fact that the tickets were disclosed as being "obstructed view and alcohol free."  Were that information clearly disclosed I would not have gone through with the purchase.  As a result, when I opened the ticket page after completing the transaction I saw that language on the face of the ticket and contacted the merchant within a couple hours of the purchase to inform them that there must be a mistake to which I was told, as their response to this complaint would indicate, that there are no refunds and they are a resale marketplace.  Prior to this response I have logged a third challenge with my credit card company and do not intend to ever allow the merchant to obtain the money for the tickets.  I will also continue to log complaints against the company if they continue to refuse a valid refund which I am due.  It would be in the merchants best interest to provide a full refund as they will lose more customers  and money due to my complaints than they will gain in attempting to gain control of the money which they deceitfully are attempting to take for the tickets, for which I have no use.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Show got postponed by 90 minutes. We could not stay and while the venue was offering refunds through [redacted] we were out $225 because Online City Tickets said they did not have the same agreement since they were a second hand merchant. Will not be buying tickets for anything from them again.

Awesome site!

Thank you for your response. Though Ms. [redacted] continues to press forward with this matter, Online City Tickets maintains that we have adequately addressed all of her concerns at this time. Her valid tickets were delivered to her via [redacted] on 4/18/2017. Additionally, our records indicate that Ms. [redacted] verbally accepted a courtesy resolution in the interest of customer service on 4/11/2017, though she has indicated otherwise. As it presently stands, we consider this matter closed. Should Ms. [redacted] have any further concerns, we encourage her to contact a member of our customer service department so they may address them. Regards,Online City Tickets

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I would just like to note that I only received one voice mail message from the company. There is a time difference between where I am in Calgary AB Canada and where they are calling me in the United States. They have refunded me part of my purchase price. This is good enough for now. If I am unable to use the tickets on Aug 3rd I will follow up with the women I spoke with.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We take the customer experience seriously and would like to take the time to address Mr. [redacted]' concerns. First, we should explain that OnlineCityTickets.com is an online resale marketplace,...

OnlineCityTickets.com has contacted Mr. [redacted], and we feel we have reached a resolution that suits both parties. We consider this matter resolved. If Mr. [redacted] would like to attend another live event in the future, or if he has any questions about an order or our website, we welcome him to reach out to us.

Had not planned to buy tickets at this time, but when I found how easy it was, and how nice to be able to be "shown" where the seats were, just figured "Santa only comes once a year!" My kids will be thrilled. Thanks for making it so easy to order them!

Thank you for reaching out to us. At Online City Tickets, we value our customers and would like to take the time to address Mr. [redacted] concerns. It should be noted that Online City Tickets is an online resale marketplace, which means we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we merely facilitate...

transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. In the highly rare event that we receive a report of tickets being invalid, Online City Tickets acts quickly to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter. In the case of Mr. [redacted], our thorough investigation maintained results that the venue was undergoing issues which is outside of our purview. As Mr. [redacted] stated, we offered him a resolution to this matter, stepping outside of the agreed upon terms, though this offer was declined. In addition to this complaint, Mr. [redacted] also filed a dispute with his financial institution. We have addressed this, and the dispute was ultimately ruled in our favor. Since the dispute has been closed we have been in contact with Mr. [redacted] and both parties have reached an amicable resolution. As such, we consider this matter resolved and encourage Mr. [redacted] to contact our customer service with any additional concerns he may have. Regards, Online City TicketsA

It was okay

I was able to purchase the tickets for the event that I am planning to attend with very
little difficulty. I already downloaded the tickets, and am anxiously waiting for my show.

Good web site but the service fee is so high that I won't use the service again.

It was easy.and all I had to do is print my tickets.

At Online City Tickets, we value our customers and would like to take the time to address Ms. [redacted] concerns. It should be noted that Online City Tickets is an online resale marketplace, which means we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we merely facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. Directly on our website it states “We are a resale marketplace, not a box office or venue. Ticket prices may exceed face value. This sit is not owned by Palace Theatre Albany.”

When Ms. [redacted] viewed ticket for the A Christmas Carol event on 11/30, she was notified that she could expect to receive her tickets on 11/28. Once Ms. [redacted] selected tickets and navigated to our checkout page, she was directed to review her itemized order breakdown, which clearly displayed all fees, the price per ticket, and the total price in bold text prior to entering any payment information. This page also reiterated the expected In-Hand Date of 11/28. Ms. [redacted] was required to agree to our terms and conditions—visible in a text box—and presented with the message in bold “All sales are final.” At this point, Ms. [redacted] was also presented with the message “I agree to the sales terms and conditions listed above,” and a check box that needed to be selected in order to continue with checkout. Our sales policies, including our “all sales are final” policy, are disclosed throughout the purchase process and displayed at checkout with the message “All sales are final. All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).”

Though Ms. [redacted] is requesting a refund, our customers are purchasing tickets owned and listed by individual resellers and we must ensure that our policies are fair to both parties. This means that we are unable to offer refunds and must adhere to an “all sales are final” policy—a standard throughout the industry.

Prior to receiving this complaint, Ms. [redacted] filed a dispute with her financial institution regarding this transaction.Due to the nature of the dispute process, we are unable to provide a resolution to this matter while this dispute remains open, and encourage Ms. [redacted] to contact her financial institution with any questions regarding its process or outcome. Ms. [redacted] valid tickets were delivered to her on 11/28, the expected In-Hand Date, for her event on 11/30, as such; we consider this matter closed.
