Online City Tickets Reviews (2190)

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the concerns of our valued customer, Ms. [redacted] We appreciate the opportunity to address this matter. Online City Tickets operates on the secondary market, meaning that we are not affiliated with any venue or box office and do not own or generate any...

tickets. Rather, we simply facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. Because of our status as a secondary marketplace, any changes made to date or artist are outside of our purview. Our 100% Buyer Guarantee ensures that a customer will receive a refund if their event is cancelled outright, without being rescheduled. This information is stated in our terms and conditions, and repeated on the checkout page with the following message: "Your tickets will: Be completely refunded (minus shipping) if the event is cancelled."On 12/19/15, Ms[redacted] purchased tickets to see [redacted] on 03/29/16. On 03/08/16, we received notice that the event had been postponed by the artist, and contacted Ms[redacted] to inform her of this. As soon as we were made aware that a new date had been set by the artist, we contacted her again to provide this information, and she has since indicated that she would no longer be able to attend. It should be noted that Ms[redacted] is not due a refund for rescheduled events per the terms and conditions to which Ms[redacted] agreed prior to checkout. Our sales policies, including our “all sales are final” policy, are disclosed throughout the purchase process—from a notice on every ticket page to a sales terms statement displayed at checkout with the message “All sales are final. All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).”Ms[redacted]'s tickets were delivered moments after she completed her purchase, and remain valid for the upcoming date. Additionally, we have reached out to our customer and provided a resolution to this matter that was amicable to both parties. As such, this matter has been resolved, and we hope that Ms[redacted] will choose Online City Tickets for her future event ticketing needs.Regards,Online City Tickets

This was a quick way to get tickets however you have to read the fine print to understand that this is a re-seller. The price you thought you were going to pay when you clicked on it is negotiable and may increase dramatically (our tickets went up $40 each). As it happens I clicked OK because it was the seats etc. I wanted but I was busy and didn't see the final price was different. And then you are stuck with them -- turns out we got a better price then some other re-sellers were offering. YOU NEED TO BE UP FRONT with what you are doing before you even show what's available!!!

I am rejecting this response because:All they have to do is refund this amount since this was a stolen identity case

A zero tolerance return policy points to an unethical business.  What honest business cannot cancel an order after minutes of placing an order, and if the business has the ability to withhold the product?  After numerous requests to cancel an order, Online City Tickets will NOT cancel an order, they just throw the book at you like you should have read the fine print. The average consumer is not on the lookout for opportunistic alternative ticket sellers.  He/she is simply wanting to buy tickets, at the ticketed price.  Small fine print on the sidelines of a website is not a good enough warning.  The consumer needs to actually click a button of acceptance that clearly states that Online City Tickets is not affiliated with the venue, and that Online City Tickets charges fees over and above the ticketed price.  Paypal did not rule in favor of Online City Tickets.  Paypal did not rule that the charge was unauthorized, is all. There must be something not right about the way this business conducts business if there are numerous customer complaints on various websites. Online City Tickets had the ability to cancel the tickets, because the link to download the tickets was disabled during the Paypal dispute.  After I alerted them that the Paypal case was closed, then they enabled the link again.  Why they cannot cancel the order if they have that ability does not make sense.  The event is MONTHS away.  It’s because they took your money unfairly and don’t want to give it back. I felt ripped off when I realized that I could buy tickets for a maximum of $80 directly from the venue, yet I paid over $185 each. This case is not closed.  I feel that this business is conducting business unfairly to the consumer, and this business should be penalized for taking advantage of people.

Thank you for contacting us. It should be noted that Mr. [redacted] does not have an active order with Online City Tickets at this time. However, we recommend he review his payment statement and contact the entity with which his order was placed. As it stands, we consider this matter...

closed. Regards,Online City Tickets

Thank you for your response. Though Mr. [redacted] continues to press forward, Online City Tickets maintains that we have no affiliation with any venue and operate an independent site. As we previously clarified, this fact is stated throughout the checkout process on the homepage, ticket listing, and checkout page giving customers sufficient opportunity to understand the nature of their purchase.Though Mr. [redacted] has indicated that our phone number is not available on our site, all contact information is readily available on the Contact Us portion of our site. As we previously stated, we have routed Mr. [redacted] order to be directed to a customer care manager should he have any additional concerns. However, since our previous response, we received a dispute from Mr. [redacted] financial institution. Due to the nature of the dispute process, we are unable to further discuss this matter while the dispute remains open. As Online City Tickets sufficiently notified Mr. [redacted] that we are a resale marketplace and he has since filed a dispute, we currently consider this matter closed. Should Mr. [redacted] have any questions or concerns regarding the dispute process or outcome we encourage him to contact the financial institute with which it was filed.Regards,Online City Tickets

Thank you for reaching out to us. Online City Tickets values our customers and would like to take the time to address Mr. [redacted] concerns. It should be noted that Online City Tickets is an online resale marketplace, which means we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we merely facilitate...

transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. As Mr. [redacted] stated, our records show that this order was placed by Ms. [redacted]. When Ms. [redacted] selected three tickets for [redacted] on Ice: [redacted] to Adventure on 1/21/2017 at 11: AM, she navigated to our checkout page. Here she was directed to review her itemized order breakdown, which clearly displayed all fees, the price per ticket, and the total price in bold text. Ms. [redacted] was required to agree to our terms and conditions—visible in a text box—and presented with the message in bold “All sales are final.” At this point, Ms. [redacted] was also presented with the message “I agree to the sales terms and conditions listed above,” and a check box that needed to be selected in order to continue with checkout. Our sales policies, including our “all sales are final” policy, are disclosed throughout the purchase process and displayed at checkout with the message “All sales are final. All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).” Ms. [redacted] placed this order for the 11:00 AM showing of her event on 1/20/2017 at 5:24 PM CST. Ms. [redacted] then contacted us at roughly 9:33 PM CST to discuss her order, during this conversation our customer service agent discussed that as a secondary marketplace, we are unable to cancel her order and clarified our “all sales are final” policy. Ms. [redacted] then proceeded to place a second order at 9:41 PM CST for the 7:00 PM showing of [redacted] on Ice: [redacted] to Adventure. Since our customers are purchasing tickets owned and listed by individual resellers, we must ensure that our policies are fair to both parties. This means that we are unable to offer refunds and must adhere to an “all sales are final” policy—a standard throughout the industry. As this information was stated for Ms. [redacted] prior to placing her first order and clarified prior to her second purchase, we consider this matter closed. Ms. [redacted] tickets were delivered and downloaded, for both orders, shortly after they were placed and the event has since passed. If Mr. or Ms. [redacted] has any additional concerns, we encourage them to contact our customer service team. Regards, Online City Tickets

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the concerns of our customer, Ms. [redacted]. We...

appreciate the opportunity to address this matter. It should be noted that Online City Tickets is an online resale marketplace, which means we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we merely facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. This fact is noted on every ticket and checkout page and at the top of our homepage with the statement: “We are a resale marketplace. Prices may exceed face value. This site is not owned by any venue.”
In regards to Ms. [redacted]'s statement that her tickets were priced above their primary-market, or "face," value, it should be noted that this is a common occurrence on the secondary market. This is because all tickets sold on the secondary market are owned and listed for sale by individual ticket sellers, who price their tickets based on a range of factors, including customer demand. All prices on our website are set by individual sellers, not by Online City Tickets. Prior to choosing tickets, Ms. [redacted] was made aware of the fact that her tickets may be above face value several times throughout the checkout process, with the message, "Prices may exceed face value."

Ms. [redacted] was presented with an interactive map of the venue, displaying all available seating. At that point, Ms. [redacted] selected the tickets she wanted to buy. After choosing those tickets, she was taken to our checkout page. From there, she was directed to review the itemized order breakdown, which clearly displayed the ticket location, price per ticket, all fees, and the total price in bold text. There was also an information box under the order summary box which repeated the following message: "We are a resale marketplace. We are not a box office or venue. This site is not owned by any venue." Ms. [redacted] was required to agree to our terms and conditions—visible in a text box below this order total—and presented with the bold-text message “All sales are final.” At this point, Ms. [redacted] was also presented with the message “I agree to the sales terms and conditions above,” and checked the box to signify her agreement with this statement.

During this process, Ms. [redacted] saw an even more in-depth order summary that displayed the quantity, location, and prices of her tickets, delivery and service fees, and the total charge. Additionally, at the time of checkout, Ms. [redacted] was again shown the specific seating location she had selected: Section 16, Row KK. Should Ms. [redacted] have needed any clarification at the time, she could have reached out to one of our sales agents to provide clarity as to the exact location of these particular seats.
Online City Tickets has fully adhered to the sales terms and conditions that Ms. [redacted] agreed to prior to completing her purchase. Ms. [redacted] received the valid, authentic tickets that she selected and was able to attend the event using the tickets she chose. Online City Tickets operates our own customer service department which is available to resolve any and all issues that our customers may encounter, with contact information on our webpage and all correspondence. We encourage Ms. [redacted] to utilize this resource for any additional concerns. As it currently stands, we consider this matter closed.

So far have had a good experience

It was really easy finding the seats I wanted and I got my tickets within days of buying them which I love.

I thought I was purchasing from [redacted]. I was surprised to see it was a different company and that the tickets had someone else's name on them and that I ended up paying way more than what that the tickets should have cost. The experience was good though, quick and easy and I received the tickets and have printed them out to take to the event. A big lesson was learned by me though, not sure I would do it again.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: we did not discuss anything prior to my complaint. I was stuck on hold for over an hour with no one picking up. There is a noted pattern of behavior on the Revdex.com website in regards to this business and they have refused to offer me any consolation or negotiation
Sincerely,
[redacted]

There was a fee to have tickets email to me but you couldn't have them just mailed. I felt it was unfair.

OnlineCityTickets.com has contacted Ms. [redacted], and we feel we have reached a resolution that suits both parties. We now consider this issue closed. If Ms. [redacted] would like to attend another live event in the future, or if she has...

any questions about an order or our website, we welcome her to reach out to us.

Pre sale tickets for [redacted] in Portland. $45 a seat, standard.. additional $13 and change for each seat, tickets that we have to print ourselves, excessive. Our transaction could've been for less then a hundred bucks. But it wasn't. Not pleased.

online city tickets is an unscrupulous business. they prey on deception by appearing to be the website of the venue and rerouting you to their website. the website looks like the venue but isn't. They are not actually getting the tickets they are selling a promise to get tickets close to the seats you chose.. meanwhile you are bombed with pop ups and pages designed to confuse the user. the gotcha is the convenience charge at first appears to be under 20 but then ends up being the same as the ticket price but by the time you go through the purchase you are bound by their iron clad terms.. How can you prove it... who videos transactions? thats the only way to show how bad they are. This is by far the most unscupolous business I have dealt with on the internet.. All communications interms of phone calls have blocked caller id and they never leave a call back number. They rest their case on their terms and conditions.. They are like programmed robots... When chatiing with the online rep the first barrage of texts that come through are arguments about why you can't get out of the "contract" as they call it.. This shows that they intended on deceiving customers, why else would they script their reps and texts as such.. To all that have been deceived by this petty company please go forward and complain to your attorney general... write google reviews.. Be active..Dont settle for these horrid business practices...
