I applied for a loan from opploans because I received a mailer from them. the "amount approved" was considerably more than I requested. once I applied, my application was denied. I'm concerned with this as I wonder why they would send this to me if unrequested AND is this a ploy to gather my financial information. needless to say, I'm not happy with the entire experience.

On May 2, 2017, an installment loan was established in [redacted] name with Opportunity Financial, LLC.  Subsequently, OppLoans deposited the loan funds into an [redacted] Employee Credit Union account ending in [redacted].  [redacted] made five (5) payments towards this loan then refinanced...

it on July 7, 2017.  Further, during the application process, Ms. [redacted] provided her pay stub as prove of employment.  Please be aware that Opportunity received eight (8) payments towards the refinanced loan as well.     In our experience, payments are generally not made on a fraudulent account.  Hence, at this time, OppLoans, cannot assume this is fraud without additional documentation.  OppLoans requires a police report outlining this alleged fraud.  Moreover, OppLoans requires Ms. [redacted] to provide her association with the aforementioned bank account.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a loan at this time. Our Underwriting Team reviews numerous factors in their decision process. Hopefully the customer will consider re-applying again in 30 days. It would be very beneficial if she does not apply too often with other lenders. This has significant...

influence in the decision process.

response because:The documentation that was submitted shows transaction history in the last 90 days and it also shows direct deposit from employer..Your company received everything that was ask of me. I don’t understand what the issue is if I was able to get my online banking set up I would have done so but my financial institution online banking system is down at the time.

This appears to be a misunderstanding.  Although the customer attempted to settle his debt through a third party credit counseling firm, we rejected the terms of that offer. We received the credit counseling agreement in question on October 8, 2015.  We did not accept the settlement offer...

because it was deemed inadequate.  Subsequently, we received checks from the credit counseling company and did apply them to ultimately settle the loan.  A single delinquency was reported to the bureau on November 1, 2015, during the period before the first check was received.  This follow our normal course of business when a delinquency exists without settlement. As a matter of good faith and in an effort to close this issue, we will ask the bureau to remove the delinquency from the customers file as soon as possible.  This process can take several weeks to reverse the negative mark.Please let us know if this is acceptable.

I RECEIVED A PRE APPROVAL LETTER IN THE MAIL, IT STATED PRE APPROVED FOR UP TO $4000.00 SO I APPLIED . IT CAME BACK THAT I WAS APPROVED FOR $2000.00 WITH THE OPTION TO SIGN THE APPLICATION BUT NOWHERE TO SEE WHAT I WAS PAYING BACK SO I CALLED ,THE LADY WAS VERY SHORT AND SARCASTIC AND ADVISED ME THAT THE REPAYMENT COST WAS $3600.00 FOR A $2000.00 LOAN , IT ALSO HAD TO BE PAID BACK AT $197.00 EVERY 2 WEEKS FOR 9 MONTHS . CRAZY THE LETTER STATED THAT THEY WERE 125% LOWER THAN OTHER LENDERS YES MAYBE LOWER THAN 2 OTHER LENDERS .AND MY CREDIT IS IN THE 600 RANGE MY ADVICE IS TO STEER CLEAR OF THIS ORGANIZATION!
