I had very positive experience with Optima Tax Relief and was very happy with my outcome of my tax review

After being scammed by several other tax relief companies I contacted Optima as advertised on a radio talk show Optima stayed with my tax problem, including several detailed requests by the IRS, for a full year before getting a settlement that I can now live with in my retirement After four years of worry I finally have peace of mined

SUMMARY - Optima Tax had successfully addressed the client’s concerns back in June of RESPONSE - Upon receiving client’s initial concerns in June of 2014, Optima Tax’s management contacted the client regarding her claim as outlined in the complaintPer the contract signed by the client and the voice recorded verification call, which recorded client’s acknowledgement of Optima’s services, it was evident that the client did not hire Optima to assist with any state tax issuesHowever, when the client brought this concern to our management, out of our commitment to provide excellent customer service and as a courtesy, we decided and had advised that we would only assist in a limited capacity at no cost, i.eto prepare her state return and to provide limited guidanceIt is regrettable that the client had perhaps misunderstood the scope of our service at the time, however, as supported by both verbal and written evidence, we had clearly conveyed the extent of our courtesy service to the client Per our decision to provide such courtesy service, the team assigned to her case prepared the necessary paperwork and to finalize, the client was given an instruction to sign the document, gather certain financial documents and mail everything to the stateAfter one of our associates provided this information to her, it is our understanding that the client was extremely thankful for all of our help Accordingly, Optima had gone over and beyond what was required under the service contract and had provided the client with additional services at no extra costIn addition, we consider this client a success story based on the end result of our representation with the IRS We are confident that we had provided the client with all the necessary information to send her documents to the state so she may resolve her liability and we therefore consider this matter closed

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowThe complaint I have has not been resolved Optima Tax did contact me and offered a refund of $ I paid $for their services in which they did absolutely nothing They told me not to contact the IRS and let them handle it, when if I were to just reply to the letters I received from the IRS they could have just set me up on a payment plan much sooner instead of having the interest and penalties accrue putting me in more debt I believe they didn’t want me to contact the IRS so they can say they worked on my case By “working” on my case all they did was set me up on a payment plan which I could have done myself if they did not tell me to reply to the IRS They also stated that they would hold off any levies which were put in place because I did not reply to any of the letters the IRS sent I forwarded those letters to Optima Tax and they did nothing In Optima’s response they stated that the levy was released but I fact there were two levies in which one was released and the other was taken out of my account I believe there services are very misleading and that they are out to take advantage of vulnerable people I paid $for the initial investigation phase which I am willing to let go All I am asking for is a reasonable solution and I don’t believe that $is reasonable considering they did absolutely nothing to help me with my situation Regards, [redacted]

Optima Tax Relief was an enormous help to me in my financial situation They negotiated an Offer in Compromise with the IRS and allowed me to settle my debt for far less than the amount the IRS stated that I owed They were professional, courteous and extremely communicative throughout the duration of the time that they worked with me and I would be happy to recommend them to anyone

Optima Tax was great!! They did exactly what was promised The process is broken down into several steps with different departments handling their area of expertise Everyone I spoke with was knowledgeable, friendly and organized It’s quite a journey to final resolution and each case is different Optima Tax was there for me every step of the way and reassured me whenever it was just plain frustrating They represented me well; I would recommend this company to anyone who has a tax issue that needs to be resolved

SUMMARY - Optima Tax's management has been in contact with the client to discuss her concerns prior to receiving the complaint in an effort to resolve her concerns amicably RESPONSE - Optima Tax’s management has been in contact with the client to discuss her concerns as outlined in the complaint since August 26, During that call the client stated that she feels nothing has been done on her caseThe client was reminded that our approach with her case, and every case we take on, is a collaborative effort and we require her involvement in order to resolve her caseThe client was aware of this requirement because it is stipulated in the Client Services Agreement, which the client signedContrary to the client’s belief that services were not performed, Optima Tax and her assigned team had been trying diligently to reach her in order to obtain important financial information in order to prepare critical tax documents to send to the IRSMore specifically, our Tax Preparation team attempted to establish communication in an effort to bring the client in full IRS compliance so we may work towards a final resolutionTo date, the client did not return any of our Tax Preparation department’s messages Shortly after enrollment, in May, the client advised her assigned Case Manager that she cannot make her scheduled paymentShe also requested that we resume her payments in JuneUnfortunately the client never rescheduled and her case ultimately was placed on a holdSince then, the client never returned any calls to give Optima Tax a status update on her payment and whether or not she wanted to continue with our services In our agreement we specifically outline our refund policy, which includes a specific time periodThe client was beyond the timeline to request a full refund; however, Optima Tax will review such a request on a case by case basisAlthough there were no grounds to issue a refund, one was presented to the client as a courtesy because she was dissatisfiedMoreover, the increase only shows our willingness to continue working with the client to achieve a mutually satisfying agreement At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophyWe take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn them around when possibleOptima Tax believes it has addressed the client's concerns appropriately and will continue to work with the client to finalizing a mutual resolvePlease do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questionsThank you

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowWe sought representation because we firmly believed Optima is honest,honorable and willing to help It is impossible to totally resolve IRS audit but to somehow ease the suffering and pain how IRS deal with clients like us Now Optima is firing back the disclosure requiring a “yes” before moving forwardYes, after the last installment payment was collected, for clients like us this is just a point of no return and hoping for the best Somehow in the process of reviewing our case and after few documents submitted, they knew by then they could not help usOptima should have advised us of this, instead of continuing with our case, prolonging the process which took a year and therefore ended up adding to the penalties and interests.They set up a payment plan for us which we could have done ourselves with the form 433DJust like our inquiry for our Franchise tax Board, Optima refused to take our case because they know there is no money for them with this one.We took their advise and save $fee I disagree with the statement that they negotiated a favorable payment plan claiming it is lower than we declared on the complaintAgain, I remember my words in this matter"Hey are you on my side of the case this is much higher than the IRS auditor request?" There was a desperate move in our case to avoid lien to our house and penalties as part of the resolutions We even forced ourselves to raise money as to renegotiate with IRS and hoped that they could help usOptima refused and advised us to put the money to our down payment as part of our payment plan Optima’s statement indicated that they spent a lot of time and energy in this case, unfortunately , the IRS unwilling to adjust audit determination This result comes out after 12months of waiting just to increase my debt and fees by 26% (Optima fees+interests+penalties) on top of the audit amount by the IRSInstead it added to our frustrations We believed we were strongly represented through Optima's CPAs and Tax Lawyers but we never heard from any of themThe times Optima communicated with us was with a generic message left on our phone machineNeedless to say we did our part calling which most of the time unable to talk with the contact person At this point we stand firm on our request for a refund Regards, [redacted]

Optima Tax Relief did just what their name impliesAfter messing around with other firms and sticking my head in the sand for the past ten years it was Optima that finally resolved my sticky tax situation Their perseverance, professionalism and knowledge combined with a caring attitude has allowed me to come to an agreeable solution where I can now get on with my life and have control over my finances I unreservedly recommend this company

Optima Tax has continued to reach out to the client and had scheduled multiple appointments to speak with them on the phone but, each appointment has been missed by the clientIt’s unfortunate that the client feels as if his Tax Associate used “scare tactics”We can assure you that is not our approachIt is however, our job to fully inform the client of the severity of their case and the actions the IRS is looking to take in order to satisfy the client’s outstanding liabilityGiven the fact that this concerns the Federal Government, we feel a tax payer should clearly understand the potential consequences they are facing and have a sense of urgency in resolving the balance to avoid any enforcement action by the IRSIn this particular case, the client is in active collections and his assigned Tax Associate apprised the client accordingly given the urgent nature of the client’s situation As the client mentioned, given his profession and work schedule he is rather busy and is difficult to get a hold of to address his concerns directlyIn our latest email to the client, we did provide a couple of options in an effort to either continue representing the client or part ways amicablyWe will continue our efforts until this matter has been resolved

I had a very enjoyable experience with the personnel at Optimum Tax ReliefThey kept me informed during the entire processI received phone calls notifying me of the expectations and paperwork submitted about once a week
