It is unfortunate the client feels statements made by Optima Tax were not as they seem because the statements made by Optima’s management in our initial response are true and correct facts of the caseWe have contractual documentation, IRS documentation and verbal evidence that we can provide to further support our statements The client mentions in their rebuttal that Optima Tax has two programs availableTo be clear, we do not offer any type of programsWe offer a service that helps various tax payers resolve their outstanding tax liabilities with the IRS by providing our representationWe do, however, work in a two phase approachPhase one being our Investigation Phase and phase two being our Resolution PhaseFor the record, Optima Tax has fulfilled all contractual obligations pertaining to both phase one and two Although the client did at one point have an Installment Agreement payment plan in place with the IRS for $270.00, when they contacted Optima Tax on March 23, no such Installment Agreement was in placePer the Compliance call Optima Tax had with the IRS in May of 2015, the IRS agent Optima spoke with confirmed that the client was in collections and that they were in active collectionsTo gain a full understanding of the client's current tax liability we had ordered their IRS transcriptsPer the IRS transcripts the client was at one point making a monthly installment payment of $270.00, however, the last payment received by the IRS was on December 10, Per the same transcripts the IRS cancelled this Installment Agreement on March 16, Coincidently, the client contacted Optima Tax on March 23, shortly after the payment arrangement previously set up had defaulted, which led client to seek the assistance of Optima Tax It’s unfortunate that the clients feel that Optima Tax did not earn the fees paid towards servicesWe understand and sympathize with the client that their goal is to have their debt with the IRS completely eliminatedHowever, what the client does not realize is that they never qualified for a complete reductionThe client was thoroughly informed that they did not qualify for a complete reduction before our Resolution Services commenced and client was fully aware of these facts when they decided to move forward with Optima TaxFurthermore, based off our negotiations and efforts, we saved the client roughly $2,per month in payments to the IRS, protected their assets, and they are on a fixed plan that will prevent any future collection activity as long as the clients remain complaint with their resolution We appreciate the opportunity to address all of the clients' concerns and hope we were able to provide further clarification on the matter

optima did a great job and they were very easy to talk toI would recommend them to all my freindsTHANKYOU OPTIMA TAX

SUMMARY - Optima Tax's management has made multiple attempts to contact the client to discuss his concerns as outlined in the complaint, but he has been unresponsive RESPONSE - Optima Tax’s management has attempted to make contact with the client to discuss his concerns as outlined in the complaintUnfortunately, the client has not responded to any of our attempts to discuss his frustrations and come to an amicable resolutionWe will continue our efforts until contact is made As we review the client’s claim, his primary complaint has to do with the Installment Agreement our Tax Pro established while negotiating with the IRSWhen the client contacted Optima Tax in November he was thoroughly educated on our two Phase approachPhase one being the Investigation Phase and phase two being our Resolution PhaseDuring our Investigation, we discovered that the client did not have a current resolution in place and the IRS has initiated active collections against himCollection activity can consist of wage garnishments, bank levies and property liens After conclusion of our investigation, Optima informed the client of our findings and the services Optima Tax could offer to assist the client with his tax liabilityAs a result the client signed up for our Resolution PhaseOur Resolution services included Collection Representation, IRS Compliance and preparing all necessary paperwork to submit for an Installment AgreementThe assigned team of Tax Pros successfully negotiated an installment agreement which got the client out of collections and will protect his assets from being liquidatedIt’s unfortunate that the client doesn’t see the value in the services we provided on his behalf However, we will be sure to inform the client of these benefits once communication is establishedMore importantly, we are confident that we will be able to come to a mutual agreement At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophyWe take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn them around when possibleOptima Tax will continue their efforts in making contact with the client until there is a mutually satisfying agreementThank you

I reluctantly called Optima a year after I had a bad experience with another tax relief service and I have to admit, they were on point every step of the way They stayed in communication with me, worked with me to get my documentations in, and called to confirm whenever I sent documentations Their site makes it extremely convenient to upload the necessary documents and to handle your account They negotiated a great plan with the IRS very quickly and satisfactory The entire process took around months with me being free and clear with the IRS I did not lose an ounce of sleep worrying about my tax situation and I would strongly recommend Optima to anyone in tax trouble

RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. In fact, this is exactly how Optima duped me as a consumer - very clear and repeated verbal promises were made, based on which I agreed to proceed with the services. Yet as soon as the company received my money, they promptly changed their position and since that time they have been hiding behind "if you do not have it in writing, then you are out of luck !".Furthermore, in an attempt to achieve a resolution, [redacted] (from Optima) and I agreed that the company would obtain a tax penalty abatement, the amount of which would then be deducted from the disputed amount of $10,000.00, and the balance would be refunded to me. Unfortunately the IRS refused to extend any penalty abatement, and although I repeatedly approached Optima after this resolution, all my emails have gone unanswered, as well as my last two messages that I have left.Based on Optima's response to this complaint, it is very clear that the company has no interest in resolving the issue, and at this point I see no other alternative than to pursue a public media campaign and legal action in an attempt to put a stop to Optima's fraudulent business practices. Regards, [redacted] ***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Once again I disagree because the internal revenue agent had not heard from anyone to discuss my tax case and for that reason a levy/garnishment was orderedThe topic of estimated tax was brought up and was not ignored, I told Optimal Tax that I did not have the money because of previous levy/garnishment that ended in JulyAlso I told the person at Optima Tax how can I pay when they just deducted a total of $3,from my account and a payment of $1,was paid to IRSI did receive a phone call December eventhough I told them I no longer needed their servicesThis company falsely advertised their services and I don't know how they received a high rating with the Revdex.com Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to meI have advised the business that I am satisfied with the first of two conditions, namely a refund of $5,which they have deposited in our bank accountThe second condition was for the business to complete a settlement with the IRS regarding my personal taxes for After reviewing this with my accountant, we have decided to handle the resolution directly with the IRS ourselves and do not need any further assistance from the businessThus, I consider this complaint resolved Regards, [redacted]

SUMMARY - Optima Tax's management has been in contact with the client prior to receiving the complaint and we are confident an amicable resolution can be had RESPONSE - Optima Tax’s management has been in communication with the client to address her concerns as outlined in the complaintAs the client stated, she hired Optima Tax for representation as she was seeking assistance regarding her IRS debtTo confirm, Optima Tax services are broken down into two phasesPhase one being the Investigation Phase and Phases two being the Resolution PhaseBoth phases do require a separate servicing charge as explained and outlined in the Client Services Agreement the client must execute prior to their enrollment into each Phase Optima Tax makes it clear to our clients that no specific outcome regarding their case can be guaranteed or promised as ultimately the IRS has the final say to in accepting any proposed resolutions and requests madeFurthermore, at no point did Optima Tax refuse to provide the services as promised and outlined in the Client Services AgreementAs it was thoroughly explained to the Client prior to their enrollment, the initial payment made is paid towards the investigation of the client’s tax liabilityThis investigation entails the gathering of all information pertaining to the client's current tax situation so that Optima Tax may review all information and better understand the client's tax liability in order to suggest the most favorable resolution for client to solve their tax problemsAs client was made aware, the investigation does not equate to an automatic levy release of the client’s wagesOptima Tax Associates that conduct the investigation will attempt to inquire into any and all wage levies that may be present in an effort to eventually discuss in detail with the IRS and negotiate a release during the second phase, the Resolution Phase, if the client chooses to enroll into the Resolution Phase As the client stated in their complaint, there was an oversight with our accountingHowever, we immediately rectified the matterAdditionally, at no point did the client advise us that she accrued additional fees due to this oversight It is unfortunate the client feels that Optima Tax is the source of her stress and we understand that dealing with the IRS can be difficult At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophyWe take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn them around when possibleOptima Tax believes it has addressed the client's concerns appropriately and will continue to reach out to the client until we come to a final resolvePlease do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questionsThank you

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [Please do not put this on my schedule as to why we can’t establish communication It was clear in my recent correspondence and calls with Optima Tax Relief that I get off work at 5:30pm (Central Time) Why not mention here that I’ve been calling the company at exactly 5:30pm (Central Time) and all I get is a person who can only relay messages to the “Executive Relations Department.” With the failed attempts to reach you, I’m looking forward to a ‘solid line of communication’ as you mentioned My statements in the second response are true and by all means be verified with the IRS (as notes are recorded) I have documentation that manual payments were made religiously on my end as advised Shouldn’t the follwith IRS to check on the status of the Installment Agreement be done sooner by Optima Tax Relief? Perhaps in April or the time when I received another LTnotice in July 2016? It was your duty to follwith the IRS to ensure that the Agreement was in place and not just bank on a fax confirmation Can you please provide any confirmation or folldone after this was faxed on March 14th? You also used the premise that I’ve been paying the agreed upon Installment Agreement amount and that supports your position that you have successfully established a resolution Of course, I’ve been making the payments as instructed by you, but it doesn’t mean that the IRS is aware of an Installment Agreement in place You may go ahead and verify my conversations with the IRS, but the last thing I would do is have you represent me on this matter again I understand that I did not qualify for penalty abatement and acknowledge the penalties and interest that may accrue My question here is timing At what point did you find out that I did not qualify for penalty abatement? Sometime last year? And how long does the review process take to assess this? Going back to my second response, your reason in August why the penalty abatement was not approved is because I had balances to pay off the taxes Then why not suggest this sooner since you knew this all along? Should I have known (or been told sooner) that a penalty abatement was not an option, then I would have “stopped the bleeding” and not wait until August This was not presented clearly and again, I was only offered the two options: the Installment Agreement (which is the first matter still in question) or cannot pay balance option The reason why I contracted with Optima Tax Relief is to ultimately lower my taxes (as what the company claims/advertises).] Regards, [redacted] ***

SUMMARY - Optima Tax's management contacted the client to address his concerns and we’ve come to a mutual resolution RESPONSE - Optima Tax’s management has made contact with the client to address his concerns as outlined in the complaintOptima Tax services are broken down into two phasesPhase One is the initial Investigation performed by Optima Tax to fully assess the client’s current tax situation and Phase Two is the Resolution Phase whereby Optima Tax provides services to the client to help address his identified tax issuesUpon the client’s enrollment into our Investigation Phase he was thoroughly informed that there will be a secondary fee for the Resolution Phase and that fee is based off the complexity of his case This is fully disclosed in our Client Services Agreement and additionally confirmed through our voice recorded Verification Call with the clientBoth the agreement and voice recorded call can be provided upon request Although the client did not agree with the presented fees associated with the Resolution Phase, we were able to educate the client on the severity of his case based on the result of Optima Tax’s InvestigationMore notably, the client was under the impression that his liability with the IRS was less than what we had discoveredAfter providing the client a thorough breakdown of our findings he had the option of moving forward or discontinuing our servicesUltimately, the client decided not to move forward with Optima TaxEven though Optima Tax conducted a thorough Investigation and fulfilled its contractual obligations, we understand that not every client will agree with the terms of our services In this particular instance, we came into an agreement with the client that will allow us to part ways mutually and amicably At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophyWe take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn them around when possibleOptima Tax believes it has addressed the client's concerns appropriately and considers the matter closedPlease do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questions Thank you
