Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I canceled services last year and was unaware I was still being billedI was told I cannot use the cancellation link (again) to cancel my services because my account is past due and needs to be brought currentI am advising protect America again that I used the link last year to cancel the alarm monitoring services and they were not cancelledI am requesting any past due amounts to be waived so I can submit the cancellation again and I request all mobey that was charged to my credit card to be returned Regards, [redacted]

Protect America has received the rejected response submitted by Ms [redacted] As per Protect America contract terms and conditions, the contract is for months and we require a day written noticeWe received the written notice on 11/We have processed the cancellation of her account effective 12/31/The final balance due December stands as isWe ask that she allows Protect America to assist with any further concerns

After reviewing the account and calls between Mr [redacted] and Protect America, our records show that our cancellation team had the opportunity address his request and explain the cancellation policy and procedureWe have attached a copy of Mr [redacted] renewal agreement signed on 1/29/At this time we have done everything in our power to reach an amicable resolution with Mr [redacted] but have been unsuccessfulSincerely,Customer Protection Department

We have reviewed his account and we discovered that when Mr [redacted] called on 1/13/to install his security system, he asked Protect America if he could return the equipment due to system keypad and camera having to be plugged into a power outletAt that time, we advised Mr [redacted] that he had days from January 8th to return the equipment in order for the account to cancelProtect America did not receive the equipment back within daysOn 3/8/2018, Mr [redacted] called to cancel serviceWe would like to provide a buyout amount to him to discontinue the account and we ask that Mr [redacted] reach out to us directly to obtain that buyout amount at ***-***-*** Sincerely, Customer Protection Department

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:The company wants me to enter into a 3-year contract and not compensate me for the year of services that were paid for but not provided I need to be compensated for my loss prior to entertaining any future commitment with Protect AmericaThe attached document details my attempts to work with the company to resolve my problem with them, as well as their typical delay tactics.At this point, since they have not responded to my request for a refund and to part ways, I feel that an equitable solution would be for them to repair my system at no cost, maintain the month-to-month arrangement at the current price, and provide the next six months of service for free If the company can provide stable service and demonstrate performance, after the month time frame I would be willing to entertain upgrading the system and entering into a longer term agreement.I have a concern that the company plans to terminate my service as of September 30, 2016, without compensating me for the year that I paid for service that I did not receive I would not like to have to go down that road if it can be avoided The three-year contract is the sole option they have provided, and I am certain that their solution is not in my best interest Regards, [redacted] ***

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because that is correct that I did signed the contract for months and not for months as stated by the company but I was communicated by the company's sales representative that I can get out of the contract at any time and therefore, all I have to do on my part was to send back the equipmentI have been paying a $monthly fee for a faulty equipment and obviously that the advertisement that the company uses to get customer to sign contracts is not really ethical business practicesI contacted them regarding the faulty equipment but the honest truth I really do not want to do any business with a company who lies about its business practices and deceives customers about the contract termsWhen I reached out to them about my issues they offered a $Visa Gift Card however; they wanted to extent my contract for monthsAll I want to do is to cancel my service with the company and to get out of this contract Regards, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: That was the original call and after waiting two weeks and never receiving the system I spoke two two different representatives and I asked the because the owner of the house I am renting had protect America also the house already has a permit is that okay? The representative told me that it was okay when it really wasn'tThe house doesn't need a permit the individual needs to permit registered to the house it is active atProtect America is still suppose to require proof that the customer has a active permit in their name before activating itThat just one of the many complaints about themHow about I had to contact them literally different times and threaten to get a lawyer involved.just get a copy of my agreementCan they pull up those callsThe calls when some one premised to call me back and no one ever didThere are hundreds of complaints with this so called " security company"They can lock people in a contact but do half the things they say they are going to doOr how about the broke down keypad that barely reads the numbers when pushed and causes the alarm to go off and instead of calling the two people authorized on the account (would be the smart thing to do) they call the emergency contact ( the person they call when they can't get in contact with us first )It's really unfair that you have to be stuck with a service that is incapable of even providing the service properly for years or basically go to collections or transfer the horrible service to some other poor person and make them deal with itI don't know what I will decide but I know I will tell ever one I know and post on every website that I can to never even think about wasting your time or hard earn cash on this ungodly company it's a complete scam Regards, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because my signature does not appear anywhere on that documentSomeone took the liberty to fill out the form for meSecondly, as I mentioned in the original complaint, the new devices that were supplied were not compatible with the system that was in placeI understand that the company wants to provide me with new equipment, however, that is notan acceptable solution as far as I'm concernedI have been a customer for three years and fulfilledmy original three-year obligationAs I was unable to get the replacement products to work, it's a breach of a verbal agreementThere is no contract unless the company can provide me with a document containing my signatureLastly, who would want to do business with a company that operates in this way? Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I was not made aware that I had to cancel days prior My contract was up July I canceled July 5th I made good on our year contract, never was late and I fulfilled my end I could not afford, nor did I want the service, and I did not owe protect American anything, so it was time to go Protect america came up with another way to get more money out of me before I was let go My account was debited August 1st for no reason at it I do not used the service, I told the company not to debit me, but they did They were paid for nothing Regards, [redacted] ***

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: This is getting absolutely ridiculousI attached my credit card statements where you guys were still charging me up until January of The only reason it stopped was because I told my credit card company that it was a fraudulent chargeI did talk to Protect America more than once and told them I cancelled in MARCH and no one seems to be able to find anythingIt's very convenient to just be able to say that someone never cancelled and not be able to prove itI can prove when I left Ohio and was no longer using the serviceI wasn't under a contract to continue your service once the equipment was paid offI will report every charge to my credit card company as fraudulent and pursue reimbursement that wayYou've said I missed payments of $yet I showed being over charged $I will continue to report this to the Revdex.com and I will pursue complaints with state consumer boards until this is resolved and the collection account is resolved and removed from my credit report Regards, [redacted]

Protect America has received the complaint submitted by Ms [redacted] ***We appreciate the opportunity to address her concernsWe have reviewed the account and all the recorded callsMs [redacted] set up the account initially on August 02, Enclosed is a copy of the Monitoring Agreement for her reviewAs per the Monitoring Agreement's terms and conditions, Customer may cancel this Agreement by returning all of the Equipment outlined in the Agreement within thirty (30) days of the initial shipment date from PAI to CustomerIn August 10, 2017, the representative contacted Ms [redacted] to initiate the installation processMs [redacted] advised the representative that her son was to assist her in installing the equipmentDuring the process, Ms [redacted] stated that she was unable to continue the installation due to some maintenance being carried at her home and would call back laterWe reached out to Ms [redacted] several times regarding the completion of the installation process to no avail On September 01, 2017, the representative contacted Ms [redacted] and left a voicemail reminding her of the thirty day cancel policyOn September 30, 2017, the representative contacted Ms [redacted] and she stated that she wanted to cancel the accountShe was advised of the thirty day policyShe provided the options available to her to terminate the agreement to which she declinedWe ask that she allows Protect America to assist with any further concerns
