Review: Penn credit processed an unauthorized payment from my bank account. I contacted them about the matter and they said a manager would have to call me back. The so-called manager did not call me back to straighten out the matterDesired Settlement: They need to credit my account the 500 dollars they debited without my consent/authorization. They need to explain how this happened in the first place and give assurance that this will not happen again.

Case: [redacted]

Penn Credit takes pride in following all Federal and State Collection calls.

Please be advised that **. [redacted] agreed to pay a past due balance of $7,329.81 via a debit card on Saturday July 5, 2014.

The payment was processed on July 7, 2014 for the correct total amount of $7329.81, but was broken into 2 transactions, 1 for $500.00 and a second one for $6829.81. This was discovered after a manager discussed the situation with **. [redacted] contacted our office on July 8, 2014.

On July 9 around 8:30 am **. [redacted] discussed the issue with a senior manager, where he was informed that the agreed amount was taken for the payment, and that there was no additional money was taken from his account.

Review: -Was a [redacted] customer till 01/2013.

-According to [redacted] the account had gone to collection August 2013.

-Never received and correspondence from the collection agency (Penn Credit) till today or the account was never in my credit report until 10/16/2014

-Paid the amount $1092 to [redacted] directly on 09/10/2014 not knowing it's in collection with Penn Collection.

-Paid on 09/10/2014 and Penn Credit reported to Experian on 17th as still owe balance of $1092 and corrected on 19th to zero balance. Reported after [redacted] removed my account from Penn on 16th. Chase ran a credit report for credit limit increase and got declined as it showed I had a collection balance.

-I asked the Penn Credit for copies of any letters sent to me with original dates but the agent didn't wanted to as they never contacted me for this matter.Desired Settlement: Remove the entry from my credit report.

Washington DC and Eastern Pennsylvania 1337 North Front Street Harrisburg, PA 17102 RE: [redacted] Case: [redacted] Please be advised

that Penn Credit takes pride in following all Federal and State collection

laws. [redacted] placed an outstanding account in our office on

October 24, 2013; we are the second collection agency to attempt to collect on

the outstanding balance. The required

validation notice was mailed to [redacted] on October 28, 2013 to the same

mailing address listed as [redacted]’s Revdex.com compliant. A second letter was mailed to the same

address on December 9, 2013. We did not

receive a response to either letter from [redacted] or a response from the Post

Office stating we had an incorrect address.

Per our contract with [redacted], Penn Credit started

reporting the account as an outstanding balance to the three major credit

reporting agencies on December 5, 2013.

Penn Credit sent multiple updates to the three major credit reporting

agencies during the time period the account was in our office. We were notified by our client [redacted] on October 10,

2014 that the account was paid in full directly to them. We sent notification to the three major

credit reporting agencies on October 16, 2014, October 23 and October 30, 2014

that the account was paid in full. [redacted] contacted our office on October 17, 2014

requesting the account be removed from his credit report, the agent explained

that the account would not be removed but updated to a paid collection

account. [redacted] contacted our

office on October 24, 2014 and spoke to a manager who explained the credit

reporting process, and when we first reported the account as outstanding to the

three major credit bureaus. [redacted]

called our office later in the day on October 24, 2014 and spoke to another

agent who confirmed the same information he was provided prior. [redacted] then requested copies of the

letters we sent to him in October and December of 2013. The agent correctly explained to [redacted]

that we do not keep copies of all the standard collection notices we send to

consumers. As a credit reporting

agency Penn Credit must report actual information and pursuant the FCRA we

can’t delete negative reporting because an account was paid. If [redacted] can

provide additonal information outlining a legitimate dispute I would be happy

to review to determine if we can remove the tradeline from his credit report. Thank

you for your assistance in the resolution of this matterSincerely, Timothy F[redacted]

Review: I voluntarily provided this company with my home phone number and address asking them to send me an itemized bill which I have yet to receive. For the past 6 months they continue to call my home and harrass me, including having an automate machine call me on a Sunday evening at 9:30 pm. This is for a water bill for my previous address which I moved out of on August 15, 2012, they continued to keep the bill in my name through October despite having been notified that I had vacated the property. They also added this to my credit report despite never having sent me the itemized bill as I requested.Desired Settlement: I'd be happy to pay the bill through August 31, 2012 which is when I vacated the property where the water bill is in question, I'd like a written explanatiton of the charges as I've requested several times, I want this removed completely from all 3 credit agencies and I'd like them to stop calling my home and harassing me and my family.

Review: They keep calling my home for someone else and there is no way for a person to be removed. They have all at all hours of the night and during dinner hours which is against the law in the state of Illinois. If it does not stop, I will file a small claims lawsuit against them in [redacted] County, Illinois and make them come to Illinois to defend the suit personally. There are a large number of complaints against this company on the internet and will be filing a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General and the PA Attorney General.Desired Settlement: If it does not stop, I will file a small claims lawsuit against them in [redacted] County, Illinois and make them come to Illinois to defend the suit personally. For my trouble I am requesting they pay damages in the amount of $25,000.00 or they will be served.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Unfortunately, Penn Credit’s response is no response. There are numerous complaints about Penn Credit listed on the internet. [redacted]

Here is a partial listing of harassing phone calls I have received:

May 1 9:57am from [redacted]

April 30 12:15am from [redacted]

April 29 1:23am from [redacted]

April 28 8:31pm from [redacted]

These calls come from either a “pre-recorded” message looking for another individual with no option to indicate that the person does not live at this location nor is at this phone number. The number above is registered to Penn Credit.

When I called the number back, they were looking for someone who has not lived at this address for 4 years. My phone number is not associated with the “[redacted]” and my last name is not [redacted]. It is clear they used some unsavory practice to associate an address to a phone number and began their harassment for over 2 months.

I have documented all calls, times and dates for legal action against Penn Credit if they do not abide by my terms with compensation for their harassing tactics of me and my family. I have already contacted Senator Dick Durban, Illinois and Senate Assistant Majority Leader. I have asked that this be brought before a Senate Committee and he is corresponding to Senators in Pennslyvania.

Penn Credit is to pay $10,000 for harassing and threatening phone calls or a civil suit will be filed in [redacted] County Court of which they will lose.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

Review: They call twice a day. They even call after I make a payment. They show no respect on the phone. The bottom line is Penn

Credit is harassing me.Desired Settlement: I want them to leave me alone. The bill is being paid.

Business

Response:

July 3, 2014

Review: I recently received a new telephone number. It appears that the previous user of the number had unpaid debt that had been turned over to a collection agency. As a result I have been receiving an average of 3 calls per day from Penn Credit. I have no association with the previous user of my number, and I have no knowledge of his or her whereabouts. Penn Credit, however, will not stop the harassing calls.Desired Settlement: Penn Credit needs to stop harassing telephone calls.

Business

July 3, 2014

Review: Penn Credit has been contacting relatives in order to collect a past debt. They went so far as to provide an account number and call back number to my brother-in-law who lives in Virginia. I currently live in Texas and I am appalled at their non-discretion. In addition, I never co-signed or made reference to my brother-in-law or any other family member for that matter. Leaving a telephone number and account number makes it easy for anyone to research that information and determine that they are trying to collect on a debt which is a federal offense.Desired Settlement: I would like for the company to send me all communication in writing via US postal mail.

Business

Response:

March 7, 2014

Review: I have been getting calls from this company about a bill from 2005. They are unable to provide me any information regarding the bill other than it is a "Bad Check" charge for some sort of Payday loan. When I mentioned that I never had a PayDay loan and asked for verification they told me they had no information they could give me. When I pointed out that there is a Statute of Limitations on "Bad Check" or Collections they told me there is no Statute of Limitations. The person on the phone refused to identify herself or give me to a supervisor.

When I called back and gave them the phone number they keep calling, ###-###-####, the person told me that they had nothing under than number and asked me for my personal information which I declined to give. When I asked her for her name or a supervisor she hung up.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to cease contacting me about an alleged debt which I have no knowledge of, especially since they are unable to verify the alleged debt. In addition, if the alleged debt is from 2005 then the Statute of Limitations for Collection or even bringing Criminal Charges (Bad Checks) has passed as well.

From looking online it appears that this company conducts many of these types of calls and there should be numerous complaints about them as well

Review: I am getting repeated calls from the number ###-###-#### which upon searching the number lead to Penn Credit.

They leave no messages. As I am the no-all MD list and do not have any outstanding bills, they should cease and desist from calling.Desired Settlement: No further contact due to the fact that I am on a no-call list and this contact in unlawful.

Review: I had a subscription to [redacted] that expired. Instead of stopping the magazine, [redacted] sent the account to Penn Credit. On September 16, 2013, I sent a check to Penn Credit for $60 to pay the bill in full, and the check cleared my account on 9-20-2013. Just this last week, Penn Credit called me about this bill, claiming that I owed them on the bill. I gave them all the information they needed, yet they refuse to acknowledge that I paid it, and I received a bill from them today. I'm ready to drive to [redacted] and settle this the old fashioned way!Desired Settlement: I want this company to face criminal charges for attempted theft!

Review: This company sent me a letter stating they were collecting for a balance I owed to [redacted].com. The letter stated I could pay the full balance of $163.36 or a settlement amount of $123.00. If I paid the settlement amount, the letter stated, that I would not have future purchasing privileges with [redacted] so I went online and paid the full balance of $163.36. I have tried to make a purchase and [redacted] says that my account is suspended. Apparently, Penn Credit has not paid off my balance with [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would either like a refund of the $163.36 so that I can pay [redacted] the balance owed or I would like Penn Credit to pay the amount owed to [redacted] as agreed upon.

Review: This collection refers to a toll at the [redacted] Delaware toll plaza. I had paid the toll to a toll booth operator, and received a toll violation anyway. I disputed the claim, using their inadvertent certification form, which was never accepted. It went to PennCredit collection agency, who I contacted. They instructed I contact Delaware Dept. of Transportation, which I did. I offered to pay the original $4.00 toll, and was directed back to PennCredit who only wanted to collect $66.50 resulting from the fines of not paying.Desired Settlement: I would like the charge cleared, or at most pay $4.00 for the original toll cost, which I had already paid.

RE: [redacted]

Case: [redacted]

Penn Credit takes pride in following all Federal and State Collection calls.

Our client the Delaware Department of Transportation placed an account in our office on July 10, 2014 in the amount of $66.50 for a DELDOT Toll Fine. These fines occur when a person goes through an [redacted] lane and the car does not have an [redacted] transponder or DELDOT’s system does not detect one on board.

Our client sends out a series of notifications to the address where the license plate is registered explaining the issues and the fine. The account will get sent to a 3rd party collection agency if the account is not resolved.

As the 3rd party collection agency Penn Credit does not have the authority to reduce the fine. We did receive a request from Mr. Schepis for verification of the fine on July 24, 2014. We have started the process to request this information from our client.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: it is inaccurate with regards to the nature of the fine. I did not at any time go through an [redacted] only lane, thereby incurring a charge for failure to pay. I am stating again, that I did pay the toll to an agent at the toll booth, who became angered after my passenger offered to pay after the toll booth operator explained the process of mailing in the toll fee. As the agent collected the fee, we were allowed to pass through. It was later that I received a toll violation from Delaware Dept of Transportation, to which I responded using the inadvertent certification form, as well with numerous telephone calls trying to resolve the matter. I was never informed the issue would be turned over to collections.

Review: These people just keep calling and hanging up. I do believe it is a credit card debt from 2001, not sure because they have never sent me a letter describing what I owe and for what bill, supposedly. They never disclose who they are or what they want and for some reason they have my phone and home address. I do knew if there is no official letter sent about any debt I owe, therefore it is in clear violation of the Fair Debtors Act.

No Letter means the debt is fraudulent. Of course they will probably say something in the fashion of "we sent it out on this date", really where is it?

Also if a debt collector rings your phone, aren't suppose to leave a message and also state if this is not the person, please ignore this message.

Honestly, there is no regulation anymore and I have to struggle, what is that.Desired Settlement: Take me off the calling list and never bother me again
