Review: I went to the peoplefinders.com website to see what information they had on me. I chose the one time $2.95 charge, and when the information came up. I received a pop-up that asked me if I wanted to see this information. The pop-up was also consent to a membership fee, which was not properly labeled. I could not see the information I paid for without clicking 'yes' I want to see my information. When I called the company they informed me of my 'consent' and informed me the fee is non-refundable.Desired Settlement: I want my money back and I want better labeling for their blasted pop-ups.

Response:

We received your request and issued a refund for $24.95 as a one time courtesy. This amount will be shown on your credit card statement within five business days. We have reviewed our files and found that immediately after completing your initial purchase, a full-page offer to our trial membership was displayed. It offered our services free for three days and explained that by clicking the "YES" button you are agreeing to an automatically renewing membership. It clearly and concisely states that if you do not cancel the trial membership within three days, the card you provided will automatically be billed $24.95 on the fourth day and for every month thereafter. You had the option to accept or decline this offer by clicking "YES" or "NO". Our records show you affirmatively selected to enroll in the three day trial membership. We did not receive a cancellation from you therefore you were billed $24.95. We hope this resolves any concerns you might have. If you need anything further feel free to let us know.

We have reviewed our files and found an order for a search was placed by you on 1/30/2014. At this time you had a choice to select the full price report for a single search or the discounted price report which comes with a three day trial membership. The membership provides unlimited searches and other features for a monthly fee. Our records show the discounted report with trial membership was affirmatively selected on 1/30/2014. If your intention was to run only on search on that day you had selected the wrong product. You failed to cancel this trial within the three days therefore you were billed $24.95 on the fourth day and for every month thereafter. We apologize for the inconvenience, but overdraft fees are something we do not control and do not provide reimbursement for. To get help with this issue, we suggest that you contact your bank or credit card company where you are receiving the fees from. We apologize that we could not be of more assistance regarding this matter. Per your request over the phone on 5/14/2014 we agreed to refund one charge of $24.95. Later that same day a supervisor called out and spoke to you. She agreed we would grant one additional refund of $24.95. The two remaining charges for the initial purchase ($6.95) and one membership fee ($24.95) are your responsibility. In conclusion, you have been refunded two charges of $24.95, your account is closed and there will be no further automatic billing.

Review: I originally used the PeopleFinder service in 2013. Successfully, but as I did not need the service ongoing, I called to cancel the service in early 2014. Not only did they continue billing me, but they signed me up for an additional "Rewards" service, at an additional 24.99 per month.I would like to be refunded in full for the charges that were billed after January 2014. This is an unfair practice, or maybe just their clerical error. In either event, they did not follow my cancellation request.Desired Settlement: Refund all fees charged after my cancellation telephone call in January 2014.

Response:

At the time of purchase on 9/21/2013 you chose to receive a discounted price for signing up for a 3 day trial to our Membership. You had the option to cancel this membership trial at anytime via your account manager on the website, via email, or via phone. We did not receive any notification that you wished to cancel this trial. The 3 day trial has ended; therefore, you were charged the membership fee on the fourth day, and for every month thereafter. Per your online request on 6/14/2015 we closed your account and, as a onetime courtesy, we will grant one refund for the most current month of membership at $24.95. Please allow 2-5 business days for the refund to process back into your credit or debit card. The charge of $24.99 is for PeopleFinders Rewards program. This extra service is presented to you through a full-page offer directly after checkout on 9/21/2013. Our records show you affirmatively selected to enroll in this additional membership. This allowed you to get discounts on the different reports offered on our website. We did not receive notification that you wished to cancel this within your 7 day trial period, therefore you were billed $24.99 on the eighth day and for every month thereafter. As a onetime courtesy we have refunded one charge of $24.99 for the most current month of Membership. Please allow 2 to 5 business days for this credit to reflect. We find no record of a cancellation prior to 6/14/2015 therefore there will be no further refunds on your account.

Review: I signed up for a service that was $24.95 a month. The billed me twice that amount for 6 months before I caught it. The service manager assures me that I signed up for that second service (opted in). I've Googled these guys. I am not the first person to accidentally "opt into" paying double the advertised price. They make it look like you are upgrading to a monthly service (which I wanted) not opting into a SECOND monthly service which I did not want.Desired Settlement: The manager went as far as refunding 3 months back to me. I've been billed for six or seven months. I want all of my money back.More importantly I want them to re work their site so that it is clear that they have two different levels of service, one at $24.95 a month and a second at $50 a month. I am not the first person to get duped by their "opt in" process.

Response:

The charge for $24.99 is for PeopleFinders Rewards program. This allows you to get discounts on the Background Checks or Reverse Phone reports offered on our website. Our records show this customer affirmatively selected to enroll in this additional membership through a full-page advertisement after her initial membership purchase of $14.95 on 8/20/2013. The page clearly and conspicuously explains the membership coverage and the user may either click “Yes, sign me up for PeopleFinders Rewards” or “No, don’t sign me up.” Directly above the automatic renewal notification on this page there is a confirmation check box, which the user is required to click in order to be enrolled in this additional program.

We did not receive notification that they wished to cancel this within the 7 day trial period, therefore they were billed $24.99 on the eight day and for every month thereafter. Our Customer Care department was available to take the cancellation at any time via email, phone or online. The customer requested to close the account online on 2/1/2014, six months after the PeopleFinders Rewards membership was initiated. We closed the account per this request and refunded the most recent month of membership fees ($24.95 and $24.99). When we were contacted by phone on 2/4/2014 we agreed to refund two additional charges of $24.99 as a onetime courtesy. In conclusion, this account is closed, there will be no further automatic billing and we have refunded a total of $99.88.

Response:

I am rejecting this response. All of the things that they said are factually correct. My complaint is that their sales tactics are dishonest and misleading. I did not know I was signing up for a second service and did not notice the 2nd charge for several months. If they had been honest about what they were selling, I would still have the one service that I wanted to pay for. Instead they chose to trick me into paying double. I didn't want the second service.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

Attached is the PeopleFinders Rewards offer for your review. Your regular PeopleFinders Membership ($24.95) and PeopleFinders Rewards have two separate functions on PeopleFinders.com.

Our PeopleFinders Membership allows you to receive an unlimited number of:

•People Searches – Get the facts you need to find anyone, anywhere

•Email Searches – Obtain email addresses, or learn about the owner of any address

•Social Profile Searches – See updates on all of your friend’s social profiles in one spot

•Marriage Searches – Find out if a man or woman has ever been married

•Divorce Searches – Check the divorce status of any man or woman

•Property Searches – Learn about any piece of property, including the current owner and value

PeopleFiners Rewards allows you to receive heavy discounts on some of the products offered on PeopleFinders.com. Background checks, for example, are offered to PeopleFinders Rewards members at $1.00 instead of the normal price of $39.95. We understand that you did not wish to enroll in PeopleFinders Rewards. The wrong option was selected through the post transaction offer. Because of this misunderstanding we have refunded three charges of $24.99. The previous charges are non-refundable.

Review: I cancelled the service 5 minutes after signing up. I realized it was not giving me the proper info I was looking for. Months later I looked at my bank statements and realized I was being charged monthly for a service I definitely cancelled. I'm requesting a full refund.Desired Settlement: Full refund for recurring bill.....

Response:

At the time of purchase on 3/22/2015 you chose to receive a discounted price for signing up for a 3 day trial to our Membership. You had the option to cancel this membership trial at anytime via your account manager on the website, via email, or via phone. We did not receive any notification that you wished to cancel this trial. The 3 day trial had ended; therefore, you were charged the membership fee on the fourth day, and for every month thereafter. Our records show you successfully closed your account online on 4/27/2015, two renewals cycles after the membership was initiated. Per the online request, and as a onetime courtesy, we granted one refund for the most current month of membership (April). Please allow 2-5 business days for the refund to process back into your credit or debit card. We then received our first phone call to a representative later that day (4/27/2015) and we went over your membership and cancelation dates. You are not eligible for any additional courtesy refunds. Your account is closed, there will be no further automatic billing and we have issued one refund of $24.95 as a courtesy. The remaining charges you are responsible for are the initial trial cost of $0.95 and the March membership fee of $24.95.

Review: People Finder had a 7 day free trial which I signed up for $3.95 when I went back on line to cancel the service they had already charged me for $19.95 for a 3 day trial there was no mention or visual of $19.95 for a 3 day trial I ended up paying them the 3.95 plus the 19.95 they now tell me the 3.95 was for a portion of their service and I had only three days to cancel before the charge of 19.95 was taken out of my account again they advertised for a 7 day trial for $3.95Desired Settlement: the second charge of $19.95 refunded back to my bank account

Business

Response:

Our records show that the $3.95 trial membership was selected by this customer on 1/14/2014. As advertised the trial membership associated with this product is for three days and not seven. We did not receive notification that they wanted to cancel the membership until 1/19/2014, five days after the trial was initiated. As agreed, they were charged $19.95 on the fourth day 1/18/2014. We received a phone call to our Customer Care department on 1/19/2014 from this customer and cancelled the membership per her request. Two minutes after this phone conversation our records show the customer logged in and closed the account online. The membership fee $19.95 was refunded as a one-time courtesy per this online request. In conclusion, this customer’s account is closed, there will be no further automatic billing and we have refunded a charge of $19.95.

Review: did not provide information and will not refund the money charged on my account

Looked up information on 12-27-13 I received nothing but worthless addresses. Called company on 12-30-13 asked for a refund and I was charged more money and received credit for less than was charged on 12-30-13. I now owe $101.80 and received nothing. When I called employees were rude, argued with me and refused to even listen to me. This business is set up to scam people it's a shame they are allowed to continue to do this.Desired Settlement: I am due a total refund of $101.80 because they did not give me information.

Response:

The account listed under the email address provided was created on 12/26/2013. After selecting the desired listing you proceeded to purchase a comprehensive background check on an individual for $39.95. This report was generated with information and is still available on your account. A few moments later you selected a 30 day Social Profile membership at $39.95. This membership, however, was never used. Ten minutes later, another background check was purchased on the same individual. During the initial checkout process you enrolled in a 7 day trial to the PeopleFinders Rewards program. This trial allowed you to get this second (duplicate) background check at a heavily discounted price of $1.00. The total amount of charges on this account is $80.90.

We do not have any record of you contacting us regarding this account by email or phone. There have been no refunds or partial refunds on this account prior to today. Per this complaint we will grant a refund of $39.95 for the Social Profile Membership because it was never utilized by running a search by email address. We will also grant a refund of $1.00 for the duplicate report. The remaining Background Check ($39.95) is non-refundable per the terms you agreed to. The requested information was already generated and we pay for access to this data.

Every report you order is available at PeopleFinders.com for 90 days. To view your report, please login to your account, and click the "My Reports" link in the upper right corner of the page. You will be shown a list every report you've ordered, and you can click on any of the live reports to view them online.

Your report may have several tabs, and you can click each one of them to see more information. If you would like a permanent copy, click the "Print Version" icon and you will be shown a printable version of your report.

Review: I signed up for PeopleFinders services in Feb,2014.I didn't want to continue with it so in March I cancelled. I missed the cut off date by about 2 or 3 days and was billed for March also. On my credit card for the month of June I noticed that I have been bill April,May and June. On July 19th I cancelled the service again and called in to make sure I was cancelled out and to speak to a Representative who refused to consider muy claim and when I asked to speak to the manager was told to call back on Monday. In March I had cancelled via a phone conversation with a Rep. who supposedly cancelled me out but failed to do so as well as online. Believing I was dealing with an honest company I did not check my credit card statements until I received my July statement.Desired Settlement: I would like to be credit with the months of April, May and June.Transaction dates of 4-15-2014,5-15-2014 and 6-16-2014. The total would be $74.85. A monthly fee of $24.95/mo.

Response:

Our records show an order for a search was placed on 2/8/2014. At this time the customer selected a three day trial to our service. Given that our service provides unlimited searches and other features for a monthly membership fee, our terms do not allow for refunds and simply allow customers to cancel at any time to avoid future automatic billing. Our customer service was available to take their cancellation at any time via email, phone or their online Account Manager. We received cancellation online on 7/18/2014, five months after the membership had been initiated. The system closed your account and, as a courtesy, refunded one charge of $24.95 for the most current month of membership (July). Then on 7/22/2014 a supervisor called you back per your request. They agreed to refund an additional $24.95 (for June). In conclusion, we have issued refunds for two months of membership totaling $49.90 as a courtesy, the account is closed and there will be no further automatic billing. There are no further refunds available.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I' ve accepted the terms but they still manage to get two months of fees out of you by denying the fact the I cancelled the service in March!!. Its still a scam that they pull on people and I still contend that I cancelled my service in March of 2014.

Thank you Revdex.com for your help. The public should be warned somehow and hopefully they will check with Revdex.com before subscribing.

I have submitted request on their website to remove my personal information and explaining to them that these are showing up on Google search, but no response from them. Initial Business Response

Our records show a request to have this information removed submitted online on 9/17/2013. We no longer show this link coming up on Google or on our site. The only person we find using the Google search engine and matching your first and last name is located in New York and has a different middle name. The links provided on this complaint are through Goole and, judging by the word "Cached" in the links provided, are in fact cached search results. Please be sure to delete your browsing history and cookies. If you are still seeing these links through Google, we recommend contacting the Google web master to remove the link.

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

It's still showing my name and age here:

Uncover xxx xxxxx public records such as phone number, address, and marriage records using the ... People Search results for ... XXX XXXX XXXXX. 37.

xxxxxxx xxxxx, xxx xxxx xxxxx. Known Residences: xxxxxxx, xx. Relatives of xxx: xxxxx x xxxx, xxxxxxx xxxxx, xxxx xxxxxxxx, xxx xxx xxxxx, xxxx xxxxxx.

Final Business Response

We will verify that we are no longer feeding the information to Google. Please allow a few business days for this to reflect online. Again if the link remains on Google we recommend contacting them to update their search results and remove the link.

Review: I paid for a report including a current phone number. All I got was a list of previous addresses and the option to pay again.

Business claims that it can provide phone numbers of old friends. However, once you pay your money for the report, you don't get all of the info you requested. You are then prompted to pay more to get the rest of the info you already paid for. There are also numerous attempts on the website to get you to pay for a trial membership. This website is a scam and needs to be taken down. I paid $1.95 via my mastercard on 10/15/13. My account login is [redacted]@yahoo.com.Desired Settlement: I want my $1.95 back.

Business

Response:

Initial Business Response

We are sorry that you did not receive the results you were hoping for. When you order a report, our system searches through billions of public records and collects every piece of relevant information. PeopleFinders pays for access to this data, so the charge is for us to conduct a search on your behalf, not to return a specific result. Please review the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy you agreed to on PeopleFinders.com for further information.

Our records show that per your request over the phone on 10/16/2013 we have refunded $1.95 as a onetime courtesy. Feel free to let us know directly if you have any other questions or concerns.

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

Rcvd refund. Thanks.

Review: usa-people-search.com refuses to delete my information from their site.

I have twice now followed the instructions at usa-people-search.com, filling out their form and mailing it to them to have my name and information deleted from two pages on their website. Still it remains.Desired Settlement: I wish to have my name and information deleted from the two pages on their website usa-people-search.com which show up on a Google search of my name, and from any other affiliate websites that they may run, and to have an e-mail sent to me at [redacted]@uwm.edu when this task has been completed.

If I do not receive a satisfactory response in a reasomable amount of time, my next step will be to file a complaint with the FTC.

Business

Response:

Initial Business Response

We have reviewed our records and show that we first received your request for removal on 2/16/2013 and later on 4/23/2013 for the removal of some additional listings. At that time, per your request, we removed your listings. Today we are unable to find the listing you are referring to on USA-People-Search.com when searching by your name. If you are seeing an old link to your listing showing on Google.com you will need to contact that company directly about removing the link from search results.

Public records are collected from thousands of sources. Here are a few examples:

Supermarket Rewards Cards:

Every time anyone makes a purchase from a grocery store or drugstore with a loyalty or "rewards" card, that information is used to build a very personal profile of your shopping habits.

Product Warranty and Registration Cards:

Do you fill out the warranty and product registration cards for every new product you purchase? If so, you probably assume this is standard procedure for making sure your warranty is valid. In fact, warranty and product registration cards do very little for the consumer. Moreover, all your personal information on warranty cards is collected and used for marketing purposes.

Raffles and Sweepstakes:

Though raffles and sweepstakes offer a one-in-a-million chance of winning some type of luxury item, free gym memberships or dream vacations you should be aware how your contact information is used. Often, you are asked to proved Name, address and phone number as a means of contacting you in the event you should win. In reality, this information is used for direct marketing purposes.

You do not always have to enter a raffle or surf the Internet for someone to collect personal data about you. In fact, many of the activities and responsibilities you have as a member of society, property owner and licensed driver contribute to what is known as your "Public Profile." Other sources include voter registration, hunting and fishing licenses, magazine subscriptions and much more.

We have suppressed your information again as of today; however, anytime you publicly report your information to companies and organizations, this information may be updated in public record databases and therefore will return results when doing a search for public record files. If you see your name appear on our site you will need to notify us so we can remove it. We are one of hundreds of websites that provide this information.

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

Unfortunately, there's no one to discuss anything with at (XXX) XXX-XXXX. All that is there is a recorded message telling me to send you more infomration than you have now, including my [redacted] and current and previous addresses, through the mail at P.O. Box XXXXXX, Sacramento, Ca, XXXXX.

This of course is unacceptable.

Why would I send you more information, when I am attempting to have my information deleted?

I'm not sure how you can claim that "Mr. [redacted] does not appear in search results on USA-People-Search.com" when I have provided links that show exactly that.

Here is all the information you need, in order for you to comply, these are the links:

http://www.usa-people-search.com/names/p/[redacted]

http://www.usa-people-search.com/names/[redacted]-1

You can see my name in the URL itself.

Please delete my name and information from these and all other affiliate websites and databases, including the URLs themselves, and respond to this claim when you have done so.

If I do not receive a satisfactory response in a reasonable amount of time, my next step will be to file a complaint with the FTC.

Thank you.

Final Business Response

We do not have the power to prevent a user from typing any URL into their web browser. This includes a URL that happens to contain your name. As stated previously, the URLs provided do not display any results for [redacted] in West Allis, WI. We cannot remove all people with the name [redacted] from our database because this request by law has to come from the individuals themselves and not someone unrelated who also happens to be named [redacted].

Again, you will need to speak to a representative in our Customer Care department to explain. When calling, simply remain on the line to be connected to a representative. Do not select any of the automated menu options. Do not select the option that explains how to remove your listing from the site because as we have both stated you have already completed and understand this process.

Review: I have been charged for a service I did not ask for or authorize. $24.95 was charged against my bank account in both December 2014 and January 2016. The web site for this business claims they will not reimburse these fees. I have not received any services from this company. My credit card has been compromised.Desired Settlement: Refund $24.95 X 2 and stop debiting my account.

Response:

We cannot locate an account using the email address provided. Did the customer run a people search on our website? Could there have been a different email address used at the time of purchase?

Review: The website claims to give you a one-time phone number look-up. They claim that you agree to a $24.95/month charge. This information is not clear. It is also a scam to get you to continue to pay this monthly service because you don't know you have to cancel the service.Desired Settlement: Refund of three months. They granted me a one-month one-time refund when I canceled the service.

Response:

At the time of purchase on 8/17/2014 you with an offer to a 3 day trial to our Membership through a full-page offer directly after checkout. You had the option to accept or decline this offer. Our records show you affirmatively selected to enroll in this trial membership. We did not receive any notification that you wished to cancel this trial. The 3 day trial has ended; therefore, you were charged the membership fee on the fourth day, and for every month thereafter. Per this complaint, and as a onetime courtesy, we will grant one additional refund of 24.95. Please allow 2-5 business days for the refund to process back into your credit or debit card. Your account with PeopleFinders.com is now closed.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I was unaware that I had to cancel the service within the three day period. I thought I was paying for one phone number. My life is hectic and I needed one phone number. I would not have paid for the one phone number, let alone months of service. My time in August was spent getting two children off to college, buying their books, taking care of my father who is ill (my mother died in April) and returning to my job as a public school teacher. I have not been any less busy since then, and I just happened to notice these charges on my credit card bill for this month. My complaint is the method that they do business, having a system set up that forces you into a plan by you unknowingly spend money they don't intend to spend. My account with them will show I never looked up another number since August.

Business

Response:

We feel we have already explained how the charges came to be. PeopleFinders.com is a self-service site where users must navigate and select the products themselves online. You selected a membership product on 8/17/2014 which provided the capability to run unlimited searches and other features for a monthly fee. If your intention was to run just one search then you had selected the wrong product. Our Customer Service was available to take your cancellation at any time via the website, email or over the phone. Unfortunately, you are not eligible for any further refunds per the Terms you agreed to on Peoplefinders.com.

Review: I was charged more than I was aware I was being charged because information was not disclosed at the time of signing up for a trial.

I signed up for a trial membership online. They won't let you cancel the trial online you have to call to cancel or you get charged the monthly membership fee of $24.95 and of course I forgot to call and cancel. So I figured I would just get charged the $24.95. When I got my credit card statement I had a charge from PEOPLEFINDERS.COM for $24.95 and then I had this separate charge from PF REWARDS for $24.99 and I was thinking I don't know what in the heck that is for then I noticed that the phone numbers for each were the same. When I called peoplefinders.com they told me I signed up for it and I explained everything to the woman I talked to and she said well I can't help you, you signed up for it. I know for a fact that I DID NOT SIGN UP for it because I read everything before I went ahead with the trial purchase. Needless to say I am very disappointed and disgusted with company!!!!! I also feel like if you can sign up and pay for a 3 day trial online, you should also be able to cancel it online!!! I was charged 3 times from this company, 1st: $0.95 for the 3 day trial, 2nd: $24.99 for PF Rewards and 3rd: $24.95 for a monthly membership. All within a 5 day period in 6/2013. I would really like to have my money back for the PF Rewards.Desired Settlement: I want my $24.99 back for the PF Rewards that I did not sign up for.

You had the option to cancel this membership trial at any time via your account manager on the website, via email, or via phone.

Per your written request and as a onetime courtesy, we will grant the refund of $24.95 for one month. Please allow 2-5 business days for the refund to process back into your credit or debit card.

The charge for $24.99 is for PeopleFinders Rewards program. This allows you to get discounts on the different reports offered on our website. Review: On 11/30/15 I signed up for a "free" 3-day trial. On the same day they took .95 from my bank account making it not free. On 12/01/15 they took 24.95 out the third day of my free trial. On 12/07/15 they took an additional 24.99 out for what they claim as [redacted] Rewards.I am clueless as to what that may be.I never signed up for or authorized them to continue taking money from my account. On 01/04/16 another 24.95 was taken and on 01/06/14 another 24.99 was taken.I called to cancel whatever they signed me up for and was told I had three days from 11/30/15 to cancel and therefore would not refund my money. On 12/01/15 the third day according to them I could have cancelled, they began to take from my account. So far they've taken $100.83 from me. I would greatly appreciate if you would look into their business practices and determine if there have been other victims.Of course I would like my refund and any interests it may have incurred no matter how slight.I have my bank statements readily available if you should need them.I believe this company should be very carefully scrutinized so others may not be devastated ever. I can only imagine if I had not had the money in my account for them to take, the consequences would be very expensive.Desired Settlement: I want my refund and I'd like to see some action taken to deter them from continuing this scam.

the product the customer ordered was $0.95 for a People Search on [redacted]. The service is not free. Service was rendered for that product. They received that product at a discounted price because at the time of purchase they selected to sign up for the 3 day trial period of the membership in which unlimited people search reports can be run. If the customer cancels within the 3 days they are not charged the monthly fee. If they do not cancel then the membership goes into effect. They may cancel at anytime online, by email or by phone. As the Terms of Use state months that have already been billed are not refundable. However, we will issue a refund for the current months billing. We are refunding $24.95 and $24.99. There will be no further billings.

Utah's basic street addresses all have North, South, East, or West. PeopleFinders does not display any of them. None. Other search companies display them. When I called PeopleFinders there was NO interest in looking into what I explained. I was told several times during the call that they display what they are given. I told the individual that the product was not of use to me then and that I would like a refund. I got the response of "no, per the terms of..." which I understood. But, I will say that I have found that the service is not interested in customer feedback. I do NOT recommend them at all as there are better options available.

Awful choice for a search! Use anyone else first...

Even my own info was less that half complete and definitely inaccurate. I used the Monthly service offer of $19.95 for less than 2 hours and both called and emailed to cancel & be refunded. Nothing doing, I was told after 3 calls and as many emails!

Save your money. Absolute scam and horrible customer service. Nasty "Amy" is anything but capable of providing Customer service solutions.

Thank you.Mary Smith You may reach me at [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like a confirmation that the account is closed, and my bank account will not be chargeed.

I used this service once in Dec of 2014. Was careful to only use a one time look up for a total of $19.95. 4 days after they charged my credit card an additional 24.95. In Jan again $24.95 and Feb again $24.95. I did not notice until I pulled up my credit card to look at the charges. They said at checkout they offered a 3 day trial which I signed up for. NOT TRUE. I could not lock onto their site with my email to check because they said my email was put in wrong. She would only credit one month. I feel this is a total scam! BUYER BEWARE

Review: It seems that People Finders has had enough time to CREDIT MY BANK ACCOUNT IN THE OF $15.93 for fraud charge. If you choose to ignore this request, next letter will be 'copied' to the Revdex.com, [redacted] and [redacted] for their file. Since I have not received any information form PF, there is only one action covered. Do what is right for this consumer.Desired Settlement: I shall expect credit on bank account or check through the mail within ten (10) working days form this date. (17th due not received). Your handling of this matter within that time limit will be greatly appreciated.

Response:

The customer was already refunded on 1/22/16. We refunded them in the amount of a membership that they stated they did not want for $14.98. The $0.95 charge was for a People Search Report on [redacted], this service was rendered. When the customer contacted our Customer Care Department in January, they did not state that their credit card had fraudulent activity on it. They stated they did not want the membership for $14.98, we refunded it the day we received that letter.

Response:

Received your letter dated February 5, 2016 pertaining to People Finders. First of all, I believe the employee of the company thought they could get away with charging $14.98 +$0.47 & $0.48. As you can see, attached copy shoes I believed to accepting card purchase of $0.50 which was requested. The other charges were unknown to me, as I stated previously, in my complaint. So, why would someone do this? A misunderstanding? No. And, make a note that I never received any report. Reason I caught this. Let’s say, perhaps, People Finders learned they cannot cheat an educated Consumer. I wish to close this complaint, as satisfactory. If you desire additional information please let me know. I will also advise the other services in receipt of ‘complaint letter’ that this case is closed. Thank you for your service. Cordially yours,[redacted]
