Review: I was looking for an old friend and signed up for a "free" subscription. Instead I was charghed $9.95 for a premium subscription--and then $2.95 to cancel it!Desired Settlement: I would like the full amount refunded to my credit card. I have also filed a dispute with the credit card company.

Business

Response:

We do not state that the service is free. We state that there is a 3 day trial period of our membership If the customer does not want the membership , which is $24.95 a month, then they can cancel it and only pay $2.95 for the 3 days of usage. In this case the customer purchased a Background Report on Joy Ludwig for $9.95. This service was rendered. They purchased that report with the trial membership. Since they canceled the membership they were not charged the $24.95 monthly fee, they were only billed the $2.95 for 3 days as the website states. There will be no refund per the terms of use and service rendered.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

My experience with this company gives me the impression they are a scam. I signed up for a free trial account which was supposed to include add ons of all records, including divorces, etc. There was, in fact, an additional $1 for each in depth report. I decided that was ok and ordered several. After being allowed to view 9 records, with 5 of them being the extra $1 "in depth" ones, my account was suddenly locked and I had to call to have it reopened. I had already ordered several other $1 in depth reports, but they were not delivered, so I called to have it unlocked so I could view them. I asked if the account lock out happens often and was told "only for new accounts and should not occur again" That was Monday, April 7. The reports still never showed up and the next day, yesterday, my account was locked again. I wasn't able to call yesterday, so called today and was told my account has been closed for "verification issues." When I asked what the verification issues were, I was told "I don't know, that's a different department." I asked if I could speak with that department and was told, "They don't take phone calls." Sooo..... I still haven't received the reports I PAID for, and will probably file a Revdex.com complaint as well as this review. Oh, and a good bit of the information in the reports I actually received was wrong. For instance...a divorce was reported for me, yet I've never been divorced. And, no it wasn't someone with my name..it was me...my birthday, address, etc. So, I would have canceled this worthless account anyway, but need to make sure people know it's actually just a scam.

Review: I bought a search for a phone number for $.99 and the search did not reveal anything. So I called the company.I could not hear the person speaking so I asked them to speak louder and they said they could not and when I asked why they just said they could not.So I explained my problem and they said there was nothing they could do.Then they hung up on me!I called back and I think I may have reached the same person because the voice was familiar and the connection was as well. I told them I had been disconnected and I would like to speak with a supervisor. They said no one was available.I asked when someone would be available and they did not know.I think this person and company are not listening to their customers concerns. The person I spoke with couldn't care less when I said I would be contacting the Revdex.com.The service failed to provide me with what I bought and the customer service agent could not take are of my needs.I want my $.99 back. This may seem silly but this company needs to be reported for extremely poor customer service and not providing what they said they could.Desired Settlement: $.99 and an apology for poor customer service and an honest pledge that they will improve customer service training

Additionally, we searched through our phone system using the two phone numbers you provided in order to review the phone calls you referred to and found that they have not called into our call center. Review: Unauthorized monthly charge of $24.95 from march 2013 to November 2013, for total fraudulent charge of $224.55.

Back in March of 2013 I did a person search on this site for cost of 95 cents. Then without my authorization or knowledge, this site started charging my debit card $24.95 per month for the past 9 months. I just happen to catch their charges looking at my bank online today in November 2013. They defrauded me of $224.95Desired Settlement: To refund back to me the $224.95 they stole

Initial Business Response

The customer has a choice to accept a special discounted price available with a monthly membership ($0.95) or the full price for the search without membership ($1.95). If a customer does not wish to enroll in membership they may choose the full price for one report. The membership provides a three day trial to try our services. Our membership service provides unlimited searches and other features for a monthly fee. This is clearly and conspicuously disclosed on the initial order selection page. Then the consumer is provided with an entire page outlining the terms of the membership which clearly and conspicuously states that after the initial trial, unless the consumer cancels the service the service will continue monthly and the card they provided will be charged until they tell us to cancel their membership to avoid future charges. The membership is mentioned no less than three times on three pages before the order is complete.

Given that members can conduct unlimited searches for a monthly membership fee our terms do not allow for any refunds and simply allow members to cancel anytime to avoid future charges. For the period of the membership the customer will be charged each month. During that time, our customer service is available to take the cancellation at any time. [redacted] did not contact us to cancel his membership until 11/26/2013, nine months after his membership had been activated on 3/14/2013. Per his request over the phone on 11/26/2013 we agreed to refund four charges of $24.95 each as a one-time courtesy. The other charges are non-refundable. His PeopleFinders.com account is closed and there will be no further automatic billing.

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

PeoleFinders.com can verify I only used the website one time for a single search that they charged me 95 cents for (which is what I intended to do). . That was my intention, to do a single search. There was no notion of charging me $25 membership monthly. If I had opened my bank statements I would have caught this unauthorized charge back then in March or April 2013. But I don't check my statements. So this business continued to charge me $25 per month for 9 months, before I found out! They can see I have not even accessed their site a single time during the 9 months they have been charging me. They have 245 billing complaints with Revdex.com of this same nature! And probably hundreds of more victims that don't bother filing with Revdex.com. Refunding me only 4 of the 9 charges they made, is inadequate. They have now kept $125 of my money, knowing I never used their service and never meant to. Hundreds of victims of PeopleFinder.com unauthorized billings, can not all be stupid people! I like to receive back the remaining 5 charges ($125 total) they have chosen to keep.

Final Business Response

PeopleFinders feels we have already addressed the issues in this additional response. We have explained that the $0.95 is not a one-time only purchase so if that was the customer's intention then the wrong product was selected. The charges are normally non-refundable but we have granted four refunds of $24.95. Usage is irrelevant as it is a membership service that is being provided. In addition, It appears from our records that the customer did not review his credit card billing statement sufficiently to realize that he was not using our services.

Review: This internet company charges 95 cents for a phone #. I used it once. They charged me 95 cents and then three days later started a monthly billing of $24.95 without my knowledge or consent. I called them. Their brazen liar of a customer service agent refused to refund. She claimed I had agreed. There is a treasure trove of similar complaints against them on the internet which I had not seen prior to using them. They bill you as CFK peoplefinders at [redacted].Desired Settlement: I want them put out of business and jailed if possible. They are criminals and are ruining the internet business model for everyone else. My credit card company will refund me as I disputed the charge to them. But that is not going to solve the problem for the general public. My credit card company said I should turn to you. If you can help great. If you think I need to go to some law enforcement organization I will. I just don't know who has jurisdiction. I appreciate your help.

Business

Response:

At the time of purchase you chose to receive a discounted price ($0.95) for signing up for a 3 day trial to our Membership. If your intention was to run one search only, you should choose the $1.95 regular priced report directly below. As advertised, the $0.95 product is a report + trial for unlimited searches. This membership allowed you to receive an unlimited number of:•People Searches – Get the facts you need to find anyone, anywhere•Email Searches – Obtain email addresses, or learn about the owner of any address•Social Profile Searches – See updates on all of your friend’s social profiles in one spot•Marriage Searches – Find out if a man or woman has ever been married•Divorce Searches – Check the divorce status of any man or woman•Property Searches – Learn about any piece of property, including the current owner and valueYou had the option to cancel this membership trial at anytime via your account manager on the website, via email, or via phone. We did not receive any notification that you wished to cancel this trial. The 3 day trial has ended; therefore, you were charged the membership fee ($24.95) on the fourth day. On 3/6/2015 we received a notification from your credit card company that your card information had been compromised. The alert stated you did not make any purchase on our website. Therefore, we refunded the $24.95 charge you are referring to.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: There is no such clear choice on their website. The idea that anyone using their service for the first time would actually need a continuing service is ludicrous. Therefore the only way then can get people to sign up for a monthly service that no one needs is to trick people. Additional evidence is all over the internet in the form of the exact same complaint that I am making. Just look up people finders on [redacted] and you will see endless complaints.

Review: PeopleFinders.com is a misleading website. They offer unlimited searches for $10. When you click on the button to select the $10 option, it asks for your payment information. Somewhere between that payment and their hidden "surcharge" language, my account gets hit for $59.70! That's NOT $10.00/$9.95.When I called to complain and ask them to credit the money back, they said I "chose" to pay that surcharge by clicking on something.Sneaky, horrible business methods. That's allot of money! Despite the ridiculous tactic to steal that money, their service is bad too. None of the information I was looking for was available. They didn't even show records that I knew existed and should easily show up in a search. Inferior product and they ripped me off.Desired Settlement: $59.70.

Business

Response:

We have reviewed your account and found that the product you selected was 6 months of unlimited Background Reports at $59.70. It breaks down to $9.95 per month. The user is presented with three Membership options. Our records show you chose the "6 Months of UNLIMITED Searches $9.95/mo ($59.70 Today)" product. Therefore, you were billed $59.70. Given the price for one Background check is $19.95 we can wave the remaining membership at $39.75. In conclusion, the remaining $19.95 is non-refundable per the Terms you agreed to, your account is closed and we will refund $39.75 as a courtesy.

Review: I visited Peoplefinders web site March 8, 2014. I did not notice or see any info regarding me to take a monthly contract for $24.95. After I search for a person and gave Peoplefingers my credit card they gave me the information I wanted and I paid $.47 & $.48 for their service. A week later I was viewing my credit card purchases and noticed they charged me a fee for the monthly. I called PF's and complained to management that I had not acknowledged or signed for any monthly charge. They said that there was a small box that said, "you have 3 days to cancel this subscrition or you will be billed $24.95. I asked them to cancel this fee. They never did. Again, I did not see it and if I did I would of taken note and cancelled it immediately. At the same time of this call they said PF's were highly credited by Revdex.com. I went to the Revdex.com web site and there are several hundred of the same complaints. With all these complaints why is Revdex.com still say they are in good standing. Peoplefinders charged me again April 8 for $24.95. I called my credit card company and they issued a warning to PF's, blocked all further charges from this company and credited my account for the two charges. Watch out for this company as it is a scam and fraudulent. Watch for this so called small window that gives you 3 days to cancel the subscription. Revdex.com wake up and check out this company, because you look bad with your recommendations.Desired Settlement: There is no proof of my acknowledgement or my signiture and I do believe this small window comes up after they get you credit card number.

they will make a decision on the validity of the charges. Usually this process will take a few billing cycles and you will receive the findings by mail. In conclusion this customer failed to contact us to cancel the trial

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I did cancel this so called subscription in March 8, 2014 when I discovered Peoplefingers charged me $24.95 on my credit card statement without a signiture, compliance or acknowledge of receiving this so called offer. When I called Poeplefinders by phone mid March, the person who spoke to me refused to cancel this subsription and as a result billed me another $24.95 for April. This person also said they were in good standing with Revdex.com. I researched Revdex.com and there over 1000 simular complaints. On further research Revdex.com does not endorse Peoplefinders. My credit card company blocked Peoplefinders from any further action on this false and fraudulent billings. Watch out everybody as this company knows what they are doing and it just a matter of time when they will be charged with fraud.

Business

Response:

PeopleFinders.com keeps records of all phone calls and user activity. We do not have record of any direct contact from you via phone, email or your online account manager. Rather, your credit card company and the Revdex.com have contacted us on your behalf. The charge of $24.95 occurred on 3/9/2014 and usually does not appear on your statement for several business days. If you had cancelled on 3/8/2014 you would not have incurred any $24.95 membership fees as this would be within the three day trial you agreed to online. Regardless, you chose to dispute these charges through American Express instead of directly with us so you will need to follow their policies.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: Peoplefinders sent a email April 21/14 confirming crediting my AX account for $24.95 April 20/14. They really don't know who or what they are doing.

Review: Online option to cancel account not available, resulting in repeat monthly charges. I want a complete refund of all monthly fees taken from me.

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

I phoned the customer service department and was directed to cancel online. In fact I was told the only way to cancel the subscription was oneline, and as I already explained, there was no way to cancel online on the website.

Which is why I complained in the first place.

Final Business Response

Review: Company signs you up for membership @ $24.95 a month when you agree to pay .95 for a phone number and address. You must cancel the membership to avoid paying the monthly charge. I did not notice this and was charged $24.95. Very deceiving! I called to get the charge removed and they held fast to their scheme.Desired Settlement: Refund my $24.95 as their practice is very concerning.

Business

Response:

At the time of sign up the customer is given options. They may select their report with a trial membership or they may select the product with out a membership. This customer selected the product that comes with a membership. They can view that they are signing up for the membership during the check out process. They have 3 days to cancel the trial without getting charged the membership fee. Before check out they clicked to agree to the Terms of Use which stated that our products are not refundable.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:this is deceptive, they offer you 95 cents and in the end you accept terms thinking you are paying 95 cents. You read about the low cost and sign up only to be deceived. Senior citizens are very suseptable to thes scams!

Business

Response:

Response: We do offer two different options. Before check out the customer is also able to view if they signed up for the membership or not. We have attached a sample search on our website. The customer types in a name to search, then when they go to the product page they can select to purchase the “Report Only” or the “Report+Trial” . Please note if they select the report with trial, they then have 3 days to cancel the trial so that they do not get billed the monthly fee. Before check out, the customer also clicks a box to agree to the Terms of Use which again re-iterate the trial period and state that our searches and memberships are not refundable.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: The company leads you to believe you are paying .95 for a phone number and then lures you into a membership that needs to be cancelled. This is deceiving and very miss-leading especially for senior citizens on a limited budget. Who would pay $24.94 a month for a telephone number directory? I may not have read the luring script as I was in a hurry to get the number, however, when I realized the trap, I called immediately. I only used their service once and never will use it again and $24.95 is a big expense for one number and no additional services rendered. Especially when it is done in a deceptive way!

Review: We paid $1.95 for a phone number. We didn't get the phone number, it was a disconnected, useless number.People Finders.com then wants to steal $24.95 from us.For what?I do not give People Finders permission to steal $26.90 from us.People are getting furious over the manner in which white men do buisness.Desired Settlement: They are not entitled to $24.95 of our money, no way, no how. It's a disgusting way to do buisness. Somehow they are still in business.

Business

Response:

Our records show you have already been assisted with this matter. Per the supervisor call on 11/3/2014 at 4:27pm you were refunded two charges of $24.95 as a onetime courtesy. Your account with PeopleFinders.com is closed.

At the time of purchase on 9/25/2014 you chose to receive a discounted price for signing up for a 3 day trial to our Membership. You had the option to cancel this membership trial at anytime via your account manager on the website, via email, or via phone. We did not receive any notification that you wished to cancel this trial. The 3 day trial has ended; therefore, you were charged the membership fee on the fourth day, and for every month thereafter.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

Dear [redacted],

It is not enough that People Finders restored to me the money they stole from me.

Their entire way of doing buisness with small print white man bt is unethical. The rich pks steal, then hide behind their underpaid clerks who have to deal with customers' anger. The customer service girls were actually quite terrible in their own way. You should reach the cowardly white pks who are profitting from their crappy buisness tactics.

What about all of my brothers and sisters who pay $1.95 for a phone number - which in itself is expensive! - and then are charged $24.95 each month for nothing!? That's a very dirty, nasty, slimy way of doing buisness. Of course, they will continue they have no morals.

You'd be saving a lot of people a lot of trouble if you would not allow such shabby treatment of customers!

Thank you,

Sincerely,

Review: This company uses deceptive business practices to lure people into ongoing charges when the customer is attempting to pay for one-time use of the service. We were charged $0.47 and $0.48 for the two names that we looked up. We did not see any notification of ongoing charges in the fine print on the website. As a result, we have been taken for $24.95 per month before someone caught it. We believe that this company knowingly deceives people into signing up for ongoing memberships when they only want to use the service once. They may claim that they disclosed this, but even if this is true, the fine print is very different than the page on which the purchase is actually made. The page where the purchase is actually made shows a nominal charge for each inquiry, without clarifying that there will be ongoing charges. This will obviously lead to unintentional sign-ups for a service that will never be used, as in our case.Desired Settlement: I would like all membership charges to be credited back to my credit card account. I would also like them to change their website so that there is an opportunity to opt out immediately. I would like them to send a notice in advance to alert consumers of upcoming charges.

Business

Response:

An email is sent to customers notifying them of the membership renewal each month. One can cancel the membership at any time online by logging into their account and canceling their membership. Per the Terms of Use previous months billings are not refundable. However, we will refund the most current billing of $24.95. There will be no further renewals.

Review: Cease and Desist notification : I am requesting your company to please remove my personal name and information from your website and database. There are at lease 4 variations of my name on your site. My identity was stolen and I am requesting to have all my personal information removed. Also, please allow me to be OPTED OUT. 4. first and last name

As mentioned there are several variations so please remove all of them. Please include me as OPTED OUT. Since my identity was stolen it is very important to please remove all the information as soon as possible.

Thank you for your time and help

Business

Response:

Yes, we will absolutely opt you out. However, we only found 1 listing using your name city/state. We have opted that one out. You said there are at least 4 variations? Please provide us with those. Also please provide us with the URL link to those matches on our website so that we may remove them.

Business

Response:

We are sorry that you did not receive the results you were hoping for. When you order a report, our system searches through billions of public records and collects every piece of relevant information. PeopleFinders pays for access to this data, so the charge is for us to conduct a search on your behalf, not to return a specific result. We are unable to provide a refund, but we will be happy to offer you a free search to help you find the facts you need. Please review the Terms of Use on PeopleFinders.com if you would like more information about refunds or other policies.

You may elect to have that free exchange search ran at any time it has no expiration date. Just call our Customer Care department and a representative will run your search for you, free of charge.

Review: I have been billed monthly for a service I did not use. I was billed for 24.95 X 9 months or 224.55. Please allow 2-5 business days for the refund to process back into your credit or debit card. We have also cancelled your membership.

Review: This business makes it easy to sign up for Monthly membership even though I only wanted a one time purchase. They deducted a monthly fee from my Debit Card two month in a row before I realized it. Review: trial service for 24.99, was told I had 7 days to use and get refund. I asked for my refund withing two hours of order. They took $80.89.no refund

They say I ordered something else during that period, I didn't the information provides was from 10 years ago. I emailed them several times, they refuse to refund my money. They argued that I ordered something else. I did not order anything else. They refunded $39.95, not even the cost of what I ordered! Refuse to refund the $40.94, I did not order anything else. What I ordered to begin with was supposed to include all that I was looking to find. Like I said info was at least ten years old.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of all money they have taken from my account.

Business

Response:

Business' Initial Response

Hello,

The charge you are referring to for $24.99 was for our PeopleFinders Rewards program. This allows you to get discounts on the different reports offered on our website. It is an advertisement after the purchase process for a seperate product. You have cancelled this trial and therefore you have not and will not be charged the membership fee of $24.95. Nowhere on the advertisement does it state that you will recieve refunds on purchases. The PeopleFinders Rewards advertisement is irrelevant to your original purchase of $40.94 and $39.95. Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

I only ordered the one that was $24.99, It stated on the page I ordered from that I would get a money back guarantee, I used this and got information as I said from years ago, was not accurate. I then cancelled the same night I ordered. I checked my bank and saw I was charged for Three separate things. I again will state that I only ordered the product that was $24.99! With a money back guarantee. Once you had my credit card information, you charged me for whatever you wanted. What you offer is not accurate in the first place, I cancelled within the time frame I was told I had too. I want all the money you debited from my account without permission refunded. I see from all the other complaints this is not going to happen. It's nothing new for your company to rip people off. I want my money back!!!

Business' Final Response

When you order a report, our system searches through billions of public records and collects every piece of relevant information. PeopleFinders pays for access to this data, so the charge is for us to conduct a search on your behalf, not to return a specific result. We do not guarantee the results because it is based on public record data. Please review the Terms of Use you agreed to on PeopleFinders.com if you would like more information about refunds or other policies.

Review: People Finders is one of the worst online information search engines! I talked to a member services representative there today to try and resolve the issue about the $30 I was charged for a membership I did not want and she was not friendly and was not helpful at all. I can't believe that I cancelled the membership 2 days late (I thought it was a 7 day trial period not a 3 day trial period) and I can't get my $29.95 back. The time allowed for the trial membership before membership fees are incurred seems to keep changing and there is no standardization. I'm sure if I'd known it was 3 days and had cancelled 2 hours late they would have still charged me. There was no offer of other services or any type of compensation or even a reduced rate. A company like [redacted] on the other hand is more forgiving in their membership billing, and they offer you a cheaper ($3 was what I paid) membership fee as an alternative if you've moved into the paid membership period by accident.

I'm so tired of information search engines like People-Finders (I don't include [redacted] in that complaint) and credit report engines like [redacted] doing this 'trial membership' thing and continually changing the lengths of time as well as burying the information on their websites about how to cancel the memberships. I'm required to use online people search engines for my job and I've lost over $100 due to these 'free trial periods' and automatically being charged for a month of membership when I just needed a phone number or credit score. I'm ready to take up a class action law suit as I know I'm not the only person this is happening too. It's unfair marketing and it seems predatory. But maybe I'm over reacting. I just know that as a low wage worker, $30 can make the difference in whether I can pay my electric bill or not. I'm apologize as I know whoever reads this is likely just another grunt worker like I am but I'm frustrated and upset and I feel taken advantage of by these online information search programs.Desired Settlement: I would prefer the $29.95 back but I'd be more then willing to take a pro-rated amount back, so if the 30 day membership is $29.95 that's roughly $1 a day. I had the trial membership for 6 days which would mean $6 for services so I'd be happy with getting $23.95 back as a refund. Any money I can get helps! Thank you.

Business

Response:

We have refunded half of the membership fee. There will be no further billings.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Just wanted to thank you for your help with my recent complaint against PEOPLE Finders. Ive never filed a complaint against a business and your site helped me feel less like a fly in a trap and more empowered for my voice to be heard. Thanks![redacted]

purchased a one time service and my credit card was billed repeatedly. Did not use the service at all after the original service was performed

Review: I have requested via telephone and email for peoplefinders to remove my personal information from their website and it still remains. They offer a method to opt out; however I am unable to find my listing using that method. The customer service desk has instructed me to send the request in writing, which I have, they have told me they have created a ticket for their technical team, but all to no avail. Additionally, I left a voice mail message for their supervisor and that person has not responded.Desired Settlement: Remove all of my personal information from peoplefinders.com completely. Delete me from their database, this includes, deleting the following URL's

[redacted] Remove "[redacted]" previous marital name, I am showing as a relative of this individual, which I don't know nor am I a relative.

Business

Response:

We apologize for any confusion in the opt out process. We are working on having this information removed. Please allow up to 10 business days for this to complete. In regards to "Possible Relatives" This is a public record data base, information is not 100% guaranteed. We cannot remove what appears as a possible relative, however we did remove the listing you provided for Publishe [redacted].

Thanks Revdex.com, peoplefinders finally removed me from their database. Thanks for your assistance in this matter. The case may be closed.

Review: I bought a one time background report that had little to none information on it and it was not accurate. I found more information than the report in vital records on my own that totally rendered the report they generated inaccurate and out of date. Regardless they claim they are not responsible for the accuracy or if the information is outdated or not. At that they said if you have concerns or are displeased with any of the service they would provide another free search. Well, they did not offer a second report per their courtesy statement. Not that I would want a courtesy one anyhow as they don't have the integrity to retrieve appropriate report data or convey accuracy or get new information. I was informed upon my search that I would receive a copy of the report via email, but it did not come and then they wanted to charge me more once the report was generated online to send it via email. Their data is skimpy and invalid and they charge you for that knowingly or they would not need a disclaimer that states they are not responsible for their terrible "data." I think it is a scam for them to have a weak background check with insufficient data and not provide a good service, then to top that they advertise they will include a report via email then ask you for more money to email it after they generate the report. It is a miss advertisement to say it is reliable and dependable information as it is opposite of that. They charge you a lot of money for terrible reports. It is a shame and they should get the right people to update and validate their data appropriately to charge such prices to the public. I am also offended that they did not even have courtesy to offer a second search. THey should not advertise something they do not do.Desired Settlement: I would like either a refund and/or the truth be publicized about how this company operates. I will not have a problem to write another complaint or review via public media if this is not resolved.

Business

Response:

We are sorry that you did not receive the results you were hoping for. When you order a report, our system searches through billions of public records and collects every piece of relevant information. PeopleFinders pays for access to this data, so the charge is for us to conduct a search on your behalf, not to return a specific result. We are unable to provide a refund, but we will be happy to provide the exchange search that was offered to you on 7/17/2015. The courtesy search will remain on your account until it is used. Please review the Terms of Use on PeopleFinders.com if you would like more information about refunds or other policies.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:I appreciate that the company is now providing consideration of offering another search after the fact; however I believe they are not representing what they advertise. I would not want another bad report in exchange for the first bad report and they should have offered that right away upon my initial complaint to them and been kinder with respect to their customer service. People Finders advertise "quality, reliable, thorough, and most used" with respect to their reports, which is misleading and clearly mis-advertised. They advertise for a service, but then trump with policy knowing their data is not reliable, not updated, not thorough, not accurate. Are they selling what they advertise or are they selling policy? Isn't that a deceptive trade? What I have experienced is that they are not selling a service rather they are selling a policy that unfortunately tricks the public out of money for supposed thorough, quality, reliable reports etc. If they are the "most used" a refund to one person, me, would be a drop in the bucket. I cannot believe they are so stubborn for a "drop in the bucket" and waste so much time and energy. Unless now they worry that all the drops are going to add up... which they should. You would hope they would do the right thing. I will not use their site and will continue to advise the public through consumer reviews, public media, word of mouth, etc. to not utilize their "services" or information until they have more accurate and updated data from their "sources." If there has been approximately 250+ complaints on the Revdex.com record let alone various consumer reports outside of Revdex.com from people about PeopleFinders who tried their service, that is far too many and should say enough. I unfortunately have added to that list. In regards to "most used" perhaps it should read "most tricked." Shame on me for trusting in their advertised service. Thank you and I wish to no longer entertain discussion.
