Review: MAJOR COMPLAINTS:1)Inaccurate listing of personal identifying information. 2)Listing service is causing multiple types of harm due to discrimination by prospective employers, based on age, address/telephone prefix information that identify neighborhood/part of town/county. 3)PEOPLEFINDERS requires the harmed party to agree to their privacy policy, register IP, and/or create a personal account/"My Account," in order to "opt-out" of their service - which is a further invasion of privacy and could exacerbate the problem of PEOPLEFINDERS readily providing personal identifying and inaccurate information to prospective or current employers for the purpose of discrimination. I am not a current subscriber to PEOPLEFINDERS nor should I be forced to subscribe, in order to delete my l "opt out," through their avenue of confirming, storing and warehousing even more personal data. That would be contrary to my complaints and reaching a resolution and illogical for me to provide and confirm for PEOPLEFINDERS, more personal identifying information when the company is currently misusing and profiting from selling personal data (inaccurate at that) which is directly causing discriminatory and irreversible harm. 4)PEOPLEFINDERS states "trusted sources," and has NOT proven when/how their data (each piece of information) was sourced legally and/or is distributing data provided by other private entities that have illegally abused privacy laws and policies in disclosing/sharing personal identifying information. 5)PEOPLEFINDERS does NOT provide an 'accountancy of disclosures' nor of acquirement of personal identifying information. NOTE: Prospective employers cannot legally require applicants to live within a certain proximity to job location nor provide age, however, there is evidence that many prospective employers are using the listing and information services provided by PEOPLEFINDERS, and sourcing its inaccurate personal identifying information, for purposes of discrimination in hiring. Employers question reports.Desired Settlement: All of my personal identifying information (in full and part thereof), including full name and aliases, name initials, age, gender, physical addresses, email addresses, phone numbers/area codes/prefixes, associate/relatives names and adresses etc, to be completely removed from any and all PEOPLEFINDERS and CONFI-CHEK,INC websites and to NO longer be sold or shared among third-parties.

Response:

Public records are collected from thousands of sources. Here are a few examples:

Supermarket Rewards Cards: Every time anyone makes a purchase from a grocery store or drugstore with a loyalty or "rewards" card, that information is used to build a very personal profile of your shopping habits.

Product Warranty and Registration Cards: Do you fill out the warranty and product registration cards for every new product you purchase? If so, you probably assume this is standard procedure for making sure your warranty is valid. In fact, warranty and product registration cards do very little for the consumer. Moreover, all your personal information on warranty cards is collected and used for marketing purposes.

Raffles and Sweepstakes: Though raffles and sweepstakes offer a one-in-a-million chance of winning some type of luxury item, free gym memberships or dream vacations you should be aware how your contact information is used. Often, you are asked to proved Name, address and phone number as a means of contacting you in the event you should win. In reality, this information is used for direct marketing purposes.

You do not always have to enter a raffle or surf the Internet for someone to collect personal data about you. In fact, many of the activities and responsibilities you have as a member of society, property owner and licensed driver contribute to what is known as your "Public Profile." Other sources include voter registration, hunting and fishing licenses, magazine subscriptions and much more.

Anytime you publicly report your information to companies and organizations, this information may be updated in public record databases and therefore will return results when doing a search for public record files. For this reason, we require the user to agree to our Terms. We cannot guarantee the permanent removal of their information. Information provided through the opt out process is used only to suppress the desired records and not to update your public record data. In fact, we do not modify or update the data in any way and only distribute it exactly as it was reported publically.

Removing information from PeopleFinders.com does not require any sort of Account or Subscription. Anyone can opt out by following our automated process online. For your convenience, below is a direct link to the opt out page.

Review: I have contacted PeopleFinders.com repeatly to have my Name and Address information removed from their website. I completed the opt-out request, yet after 4 months now, my information is still showing on their site. This is a major security issue. I did not ask them to publish my address and name and other pertinent information. Everytime I call them, they tell me the same story. I will transfer you too a supervisor voice mail. Leave message. The supervisor never calls back or contact me. The customer service agent have their volume down so low as so they don't want to hear anyone call in. Or they will pretend that they can't hear you. And they are extremely rude.I want my information removed immediately from their site. Link is listed below.[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want my information removed from their site. Or I shall file law suite.[redacted]

Response:

All of the information on our website is from public record databases. Every person aged 18 and older can have a public record. This information is collected on a County, City, State and federal level and can also come from reporting information during normal every day activities such as grocery store club cards, magazine subscriptions, voter registration, warranty cards, even fishing licenses, and forms you fill out when browsing the internet. There are thousands of ways this information gets reported.

We have reviewed our files and found that per your conversation with a supervisor on 10/1/2014 an additional request was sent to our IT department. They successfully removed an additional listing later that same day. Today we have submitted a listing that we believe to match your information for removal. Please allow 24-48 hours for any changes from today to reflect online.

Review: Charged me $19.95 for one day of service!

I signed up for a trial subscription that I thought was for one month for the price of $19.95. When I received the receipt, it was for 24 hours! Why in the world would I pay $19.95 for 24 hours! I called customer service to find out how they were going to correct the problem. They told me I had not placed any order but with another company called "Trial Pay". Hmm - the order was placed through the PeopleFinders web site or a link on the site. I have receipt that says "peoplefinder.com", but PeopleFinders says they have no record. This is a complete bull. It appears the PeopleFinder may have signed up with some 3rd party marketing company. However, they have made it so confusing, you can't tell whom you are dealing with. This is an unethical practice to gouge the consumer. Maybe PeopleFinders is not legally at fault, but with these unethical practices, it is a company I would recommend not doing business with. Unfortunately, for PeopleFinder I was impressed by their search capability and ready to upgrade to full service membership at $45 per month. However, I am not going to do conduct business with a company with such poor practices. Desired Settlement: $19.95

Our records show that on 10/8/2013 you signed up for a 24 hour free membership through Trial Pay. Trial Pay is a different company therefore billing is processed separately from PeopleFinders.com. We apologize for any confusion. The advertisement is displayed as a promotional offer from Trial Pay at the bottom of the page. You selected to sign up for another product through them such as a Netflix or a magazine subscription and received 24 hours of free searching on our site. Your billing information has never been entered into our system because the additional product you purchased was through Trial Pay. We can however offer you a complimentary 30 day membership for the confusion. If you would like to redeem this complimentary 30 day membership please contact our Customer Care at (XXX) XXX-XXXX. Consumer Response

Two things:

1) I find it odd that a company would be accepting advertisements that drive customers AWAY from their website. Most companies try very hard to drive customers TO their website.

2) I find it odd that Revdex.com awards PeopleFinders.com an A+ rating. PeopleFinders.com has 621 complaints in last 3 years and 192 in last 12 months. I find that astonishingly high. Revdex.com's own Industry Comparison shows Peoplefinders the worst in the industry. I they get at A+?

Business Response

Whether purchasing this product directly through PeopleFinders.com or purchasing it through a promotion from a partner (like TrialPay), you still need to use PeopleFinders.com to access the product. The only difference is, by purchasing it from one of TrialPay's partners we provide the service for free. we still have to pay for the product so you must come to PeopleFinders.com to use it. The terms of TrialPay's promotions vary from offer to offer. Users must read the details of each offer and may purchase a desired product. This is all self-service and at the sole discretion of the online consumer.

What is the deal with accounts constantly getting closed for "verification issues", yet nobody in customer service can answer why? What good is that? I've been told to just sign back up again using a different email, but my credit card is the same so it gets blocked! Totally bizarre if the aim of the business is to actually make money!

Review: Unauthorized Credit Card Use.

On September 24th, 2013 I made a one time purchase of $1.95 for the companies service. On September 30th, 2013 I was charged a fee of $24.95 for allegedly signing up for the monthly service, which I no such thing. I didn't catch the charge on my credit statement the first month, but on October 30, 2013 I did catch the charge and contacted peoplefinders.com. When I contacted them, they told me that they would refund me for this charge only, and close my account. So this prompted me to go back in my records and find out how much I have been charged. Upon review, I found the September 30th charge. I again contacted peoplefinders.com and told them that I didn't sign up for this service what so ever and I provided proof to the company that I made a 1 time purchase. After providing proof, they sent me an email stating that I would receive my additional $24.95 credit. I didn't receive the credit. I emailed back, and I got an email back stating that my issue has been resolved and to call the company. After calling the company, the representative told me she couldn't help me and transferred me to the supervisors voicemail where I was not helped. Desired Settlement: I want all of my money back, 2 charges for $24.95 (which I have received one refund already) and a refund for my 1 time purchase of $1.95. Also, I want the company to delete all of my information they have on the search database.

The product you selected was a people search report for $1.95. After this purchase you were presented with a full page advertisement offering a trial to our services. You had the option to either accept or decline the offer. We understand it was not your intention to have a membership but our records show you affirmatively selected the option to enroll in our monthly membership.

Our terms of use does not normally allow for any refunds but we received the requests you are referring to and issued TWO refunds for $24.95 each as a one time courtesy. These two refunds may take five to ten business days to process. The $1.95 report you ordered is non-refundable and this charge is your responsibility.

Review: On 3/21/13 because of a death I needed to reach someone.

Because of a death I needed to reach someone. They were no longer at the number I had for them. I then went to Peopolefinders. I am seventy-two and was not feeling well from the trauma of the death, plus have health issues so that permanently I do not feel well. I thought I was agreeing to pay only .95 cents, and to that I agreed. But I was NOT provided any information to reach the person. The information that was provided was all old, past, no longer good information. I was not able to reach the person. So that when the .95 cents appeared on my card I called my bank and told them that it was NOT a good business, that the information provided by them was all outdated, past information which was NOT current and was NOT helpful, and that I should NOT need to pay. My bank adjusted the .95 cents. Then when the $24.95 charge appeared on my account I told the bank that was fraud. I had NEVER agreed to that. I thought that this matter had been adjusted back in April. But yesterday I got something from PeopleFinders disputing the matter. This goes back months. I thought it was closed, finished. I did NOT agree to $24.95. I would NEVER have agreed to that. I cannot afford that, so that I would NEVER have agreed to that. I used PeopleFinders for one time only and that one time did NOT provide me current information. The information they had was useless for it was old, no longer current, past information. So that I did not even owe them the .95 cents. To repeat: I used this business one time only and the information they provided was no good and did not enable me to reach the person who I needed to reach. I never used the business again. I consider that they are fraudulent to be charging me for I did NOT agree to any monthly charge.Desired Settlement: To NOT charge $24.95. To tell my bank that as regards Case Number CBXXXXXXXXXXXX they agree to NOT charge. I thought that this was settled. This goes back months. But I just heard from my bank yesterday by mail. They sent me something from PeopleFinders. I don't understand why my bank waited so long to send it. But PeopleFinders is disputing the $24.95, Case Number CBXXXXXXXXXXXX. I seek for PeopleFinders to agree to NOT charge. I will go to Consumer Protection for the State of California if I need for I NEVER agreed to any $24.95. I consider that this is fraud, especially when what I did agree to was the .95 cents which did NOT even provide current appropriate information.

Business' Initial Response

We have reviewed our files and our records show that an order for a search was conducted by the customer on 3/21/2013. At that time they had a choice to accept a special discounted price available with a monthly membership or the full price for the search without membership. The membership option was affirmatively selected by them on 3/21/2013. That membership provided a three day trial to try our services. Our membership service provides unlimited searches and other features for a monthly fee. This is clearly and conspicuously disclosed on the initial order selection page. Then the consumer is provided with an entire page outlining the terms of the membership which clearly and conspicuously states that after the initial trial, unless the consumer cancels the service the service will continue monthly and the card they provided will be charged until they tell us to cancel their membership to avoid future charges. The membership is mentioned no less than three times on three pages before the order is complete.

Given that members can conduct unlimited searches for a monthly membership fee our terms do not allow for any refunds and simply allow members to cancel anytime to avoid future charges. For the period of her membership the customer was charged each month. During that time, our customer service was available to take the cancellation at any time. We did not receive a contact from the customer to cancel until three after the membership was initiated. The account was closed prior to this because we received a dispute through their credit card company on 5/16/2013. On 5/30/2013 the charge was determined to be valid by the credit card company. We have advised this customer no less than six times that this case is closed. In conclusion, the entire account is closed and the charges will not be refunded.

Consumer's Final Response

Dear Revdex.com,

I have heard from my bank that the temporary credit they had issued, regarding the dispute of the business' charge, is now a permanent credit. By reason of that fact it closes out my complaint for there is no practical need for the Revdex.com to pursue the monetary dispute I had with the business.

However I would ask, as a consumer and a member of the American public, that the Revdex.com reconsider the high rating given the business until and unless the business makes its website much more clear. When people turn to peoplefinders.com they can be in the midst of a tragedy or misfortune, so that emotions can be upsetting their understanding of how the business' website functions. In addition some people, especially among the elderly or the less talented, may never be that good with the computer and with understanding it. The computer can be confusing for many members of the public. So that it may not even be that peoplefinders.com are being dishonest, but rather that they have a high level of comprehension of their own website so are failing to see that what is clear to them is not that clear for the general public. If there are a lot of problems such as I had -where I did not realize I had committed to a membership, but I had thought it was a one time service- then the business' website needs to be made easier and clearer for the public. For if this happens to many consumers, or even to several consumers, that does serve to indicate there is an ongoing problem with the clarity of the business' website. The business has a duty to its public to ensure that the website is clear enough for the public to understand, since it is seeking to solicit all the public as customers.

In any case because of the letter I have received from my bank, dated July 6th, received just today, I am letting the Revdex.com know that my complaint can be closed as my bank has decided to make the credit permanent. I thank the Revdex.com very much for its efforts in this which I do view played a part in this final outcome. Again, thank you Revdex.com.

After you have entered your card information for a charge of $3.95. Their website links try to trick you into subscribing for a monthly subscription for $12.48.

Despite noticing what they were trying to do, I errantly clicked on the wrong button. The charge went through immediately. You can login and cancel the subscription immediately but they claim the charge is irreversible. Definitely a big scam. I am on computers all day and consider myself tech savvy and they still screwed me out of the $12.48 plus the $3.95 I had been okay with paying.

Review: I bought a report from Peoplefinders.com because I read that in the report I will find the phone number of the person I am looking for. None of the phone numbers received belonged to the person I am looking for. I sent this complaint to Peoplefinders.com: "On the report I bought from you there are 9 phone numbers listed. I called all of them today. None of them belongs to the person I am looking for. Can you please, help me with the actual phone # that will connect me with M[redacted]a P**l? This is the reason I bought the report from you, to get a valid phone # for this person. Can you help me with that?" Here it is their answer: "Hello,We are sorry you are having trouble viewing your report. Fortunately, every report you order is available at PeopleFinders.com for 90 days. I consider that Peoplefinders.com haven't provided the data I paid for.Desired Settlement: I think that it will be fair for Peoplefinders.com to refund the money I paid for services they did not provided.

Business

Response:

We are sorry that you did not receive the results you were hoping for. When you order a report, our system searches through billions of public records and collects every piece of relevant information. PeopleFinders pays for access to this data, so the charge is for us to conduct a search on your behalf, not to return a specific result. We are unable to provide a refund, but we will be happy to offer you a free search to help you find the facts you need. Please review the Terms of Use on PeopleFinders.com if you would like more information about refunds or other policies.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: When I typed the name of the person I'm looking for in the Peoplesfinder web site I read that for a price I will get the phone # of that person. There were no "maybe", "perhaps", "alleged" words used for this. I paid because the web site showed me that if I pay I will get the phone number where I can contact the person I was looking for. As I said, none of the phone numbers I've got in the report belonged to the person I was looking for. A promise is a promise. If they cannot keep their promise they should return the money.

Thank you for your time.

Business

Response:

You are correct we offer a free preliminary search which will indicate what information is available upon purchase for each listing. We offer this to ensure that you are fully aware of what information you will receive upon making a purchase.

The available information is indicated by green icons. If you do not see a green icon that indicates a particular piece of information is available, then it will not be available upon purchase.

We have reviewed the report you ordered and, as indicated prior to purchase, there are phone numbers available to you on the report. In total, there are nine phone numbers listed. These are all phone numbers that have ever been publically reported by the individual as belonging to them. We understand these may not be the phone numbers you were expecting but again the charge grants access our database and not to return a specific result. Therefore we are unable to provide you a refund per the Terms you agreed to upon making a purchase with us.

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

My Citibank credit card statements show continued billing following cancellation of my membership on February 7, 2013. Unauthorized charges are for $7.95 and have been disbuted with Citibank and resolved in my favor. The dates of these charges have been listed in the initial complaint and are as follows: February 24, 2013, March 24, 2013; April 24, 2013 and May 24, 2013.

Business' Final Response

Our site does not offer any product at the price point of $7.95. Please make sure you are contacting the correct company. We show your membership with PeopleFinders.com was canceled per your request over the phone on 2/7/2012. Prior to this, your membership was renewing at $24.95 monthly. The last time you were charged this amount ($24.95), which was prior to your cancelation, was 1/21/2013.

I've found my info. listed on their website, and I wanted them to remove it, but their opt out search did not show the listing, I'm 100% certain that my profile is on their database, they just tricked the system so that it doesn't show when I was on the opt out search

Review: People Finders have charged my card without my permission. I was initially charged on 8/15/14 0.98 and 0.97 and 0.99 for information that was inaccurate. Then on 8/19/14 I saw a charge for $24.95 on my bank account and my bank told me it is an automatic monthly billing, which I did not authorized. I called People Finders, the first Representative hung up the phone on me, the second representative refused to give me her name and was extremely unprofessional. I believe these people are running a scam!Desired Settlement: I want my money back ($24.95) that I did not authorized for them to take!

Business

Response:

Although PeopleFinders

provides public records, we do not create or modify them in any way. We are

only able to display the information provided in each record, so we cannot

guarantee their accuracy.

Our records show on 8/13/2014

you affirmatively selected to enroll in a 3 day trial to our Membership. This

membership allowed you to receive an unlimited number of:

•People Searches – Get the

facts you need to find anyone, anywhere

•Email Searches – Obtain

email addresses, or learn about the owner of any address

•Social Profile Searches –

See updates on all of your friend’s social profiles in one spot

•Marriage Searches – Find out

if a man or woman has ever been married

•Divorce Searches – Check the

divorce status of any man or woman

•Property Searches – Learn

about any piece of property, including the current owner and value

You had the option to cancel

this membership trial at any time via your account manager on the website, via

email, or via phone. We did not receive any notification that you wished to cancel

this trial. The 3 day trial has ended; therefore, you were charged the

membership fee on the fourth day, and for every month thereafter.

We have found that during a

phone call to our Customer Care department on 8/20/2014 you mentioned you would

be contacting your bank or Credit Card Company and filing a dispute instead of

working with us regarding the membership fee. Often, due to the dispute, you

are given a conditional refund by your bank; therefore we cannot offer you a

refund. In this case, you will now need to follow their policies and procedures

regarding these charges.

I find,as others have, that if you try to use People Finders free search option you will not get any results. If you try to search by using a one time search fee, you will be automatically signed up for a membership that you didn't want. People Finders will keep the information on file for whichever credit card you use and will start charging you a monthly fee in about 6 months for the membership you didn't realize you were signing up for to start with! People Finders claim the membership info is very clear on their website. I disagree! After trying to cancel this membership online without success, I called my credit card company to stop any further charges. Then called People Finders. Their automated system told me to cancel online. Well I knew that didn't work so stayed on the line and talked to a representative who did close my account and agree to refund 1 monthly charge. She said that it was my responsibility to know what I signed up for. That may be true but People Finders don't make it easy on their website for you to know what that is.

Review: I went to go purchase a look up and the initial location says Florida, then when I go to purchase it it moves it to Illinois. So what I was buying was what appeared to be a Florida report and at the last minute after I bought it it comes up with a different name a different location they totally scammed me out of my money. Then I called and the woman tells me well the terms say that the information my not be accurate, I explained I understand that but if your initial search says its Florida information that was found not Illinois information,if I knew it was Illinois information I would have never purchased it.Desired Settlement: It cost me 3 dollars to run this report that is a total scam I want my money back

Business

Response:

We are sorry that you did not receive the results you were hoping for. We have reviewed the report and found that the owner has lived in Florida in the past and this is why it was listed in the preview. When you order a report, our system searches through billions of public records and collects every piece of relevant information. When the records were retrieved the most current address happens to be in Illinois.

Review: I logged in to PeopleFinders.com to do a reverse phone number lookup. According to their website, the cost for a single search is $0.95. The website was unable to locate any information so I received an email from them stating that I would not be charged because they could not locate any information. When I received my credit card bill, I was charged not only the $0.95, but also a monthly membership fee of $24.95 which would have continued monthly if I had not checked my credit card bill. When I called PeopleFinders about the charges, I was informed that I was set up on an auto membership because I requested a one time search and was charged the single search charge because I received the report I requested. There was a PDF document online but it did not contain any information. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company but would warn anyone to be careful when using the services of this company because they were very deceitful in my transaction with them.Desired Settlement: I do not know if anyone else has had a similar experience with this company but I am filing a complaint so people will be cautious in dealing with them.

At the time of purchase on 6/12/2015 you chose to receive a discounted price for signing up for a 3 day trial to our Membership. You had the option to cancel this membership trial at anytime via your account manager on the website, via email, or via phone. We did not receive any notification that you wished to cancel this trial. The 3 day trial has ended; therefore, you were charged the membership fee on the fourth day, and for every month thereafter. We have found that you have already contacted your bank or Credit Card Company and filed a dispute. Often, due to the dispute, you are given a conditional refund by your bank; therefore we cannot offer you a refund. Please allow time for your financial institution to review the charges for validity. Usually this process will take a few billing cycles and they will notify you of the outcome via mail. You will now need to follow their policies and procedures regarding these charges.

Review: Without my knowledge, or consent this business has not only enrolled me in their service, but charged me a 25$ recurring fee.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the money they stole from me.

Business

Response:

The customer already called into customer care and received the assistance they requested.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I did not call in to their customer care. I was able to stop recurring charges online. I would still like a refund of the 25$ they stole

Business

Response:

We apologize for the confusion. They did not call, they contacted, support on 2/15/16 in the form of an email in which we have record of. We replied to them stating we have canceled their membership and refunded them the $24.95 that same day. On the same day the customer both emailed us in regards to the membership, we replied back saying we refunded and they also logged in and canceled their membership themselves.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I signed up for the $1.95 trial on peoplefinders.com. After trying the service and realizing it was not as detailed as I thought it was going to be I could not find a way to cancel my membership online so I called their customer service number to cancel. I talked to the representative and she claimed to cancel my membership. However, they didn't. I have no noticed, but I have been charged 24.95 every month since September 2014. I filed a dispute with my credit card company but peoplefinders replied with a copy of my information authorizing them to charge me. They have my information and authorization because they billed my account for the trial. When I spoke to the representative she told me over the phone that she cancelled my membership, but apparently she did not. I have filed another dispute with my credit card company to try to resolve the issue.Desired Settlement: Refund of the unused months. I completely forgot about the service after I called to cancel and didn't notice the charges on my statement until now.

Don't use! They put you on automatic billing cycle. My 18 year old son inadvertently signed up for the monthly subscription and was billed $39 for a month He has mild cerebral palsy and we didn't notice $ coming out of his account for almost a year. The company did nothing to remedy the situation. They are just awful. I hope they go out of business. What a scam company.

Review: I signed up today, and searched one person, didn't find the phone number. So I called people finders, a lady picked up the phone. She told me that the person should have blocked the information for public, and said "anything else I can help you?". I said :" I want to know a little bit more about how to use your services", she hanged up.Bad customer services.Desired Settlement: sell people's information for profit is unreasonable. I can't imagine it could be allowed.

We apologize for any issues you may

have experienced when contacting our Customer Support. We have reviewed

the call and spoken to the rep who handled your account and implemented the

appropriate ramifications. In your request we see that you were trying to

get information regarding our services and how to use them. Because there are

so many types of products on the site we recommend visiting the site and

clicking on the product you would like to get a breakdown of what is included,

pricing, billing cycles, etc.

Review: PeopleFinders uses misleading and malicious marketing tactics to surreptitiously dupe consumers. If you have the misfortune of needing to find a number on the internet and use the [redacted] website, you can, without realizing it, be tricked into subscribing to Peoplefinder. They make it extremely difficult to cancel the service. Their website obfuscates how to cancel their service and you cannot get anyone on the phone to cancel it. When I spoke to an individual at PeopleFinders, on my third attempt, and demanded a refund, they simple hung up on me. The refund is warranted because I never agreed to an automatic monthly renewal, but the customer representative simple told me to forget about it and hung up without even trying to get the relevant facts. At this point, I believe I have cancelled the subscription I did not authorize. It is illegal for companies to automatically renew monthly subscriptions without authorization. If it is not, it should be.Desired Settlement: Peoplefinder must remit a check to me for $180 as a refund of subscription charges from January 1, 2015 through July 1, 2015.

I am rejecting this response because:The point is not about the refund. The point is about their deceptive business practice of automatically charging consumer charge cards. This practice is common on the Internet and should be stopped.
