Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I did call to cancel , they need to figure it out, I did call within the 3 day trial. Weather they find the information or not it isn't my fault I called and canceled and I wand to be refunded this is not fair and shouldn't be allowed.

Review: Website provides inaccurate and inadequate information as well as charge credit cards unknowingly. Customer service is rude and not helpful at all starting from email to Supervisor [redacted] at direct number [redacted]. SCAMDesired Settlement: Refund my charge

Business

Response:

We are sorry that you did not receive the results you were hoping for. When you order a report, our system searches through billions of public records and collects every piece of relevant information. PeopleFinders pays for access to this data, so the charge is for us to conduct a search on your behalf, not to return a specific result. As our representatives and supervisor advised you we are unable to provide a refund, but we will be happy to offer you a free search to help you find the facts you need. Please review the Terms of Use on PeopleFinders.com if you would like more information about refunds or other policies. The proper contact phone number for PeopleFinders.com is ([redacted] and not the number you provided.

Review: I signed up a for a search to find a relative on peoples finders.com in mid-January. They signed me for 3 day trial and then six months later I notice that they have been billing my credit card 24.95 a month for an ongoing subscription that I was not aware I ever signed up for. I called to ask for a credit back and they were most rude and did not wish to offer me credit--they simply offered to cancel my renewal now that I caught them. This is terrible and I wanted to alert you all to this.Thank you for your time and consideration.[redacted] cell[redacted]Desired Settlement: Yes I would welcome a refund and/or for the company to be more transparent about getting people in to their monthly payment scheme.

At the time of purchase on 1/25/2015 you affirmatively selected to enroll in a 3 day trial to our Membership. This membership allowed you to receive an unlimited number of:•People Searches – Get the facts you need to find anyone, anywhere•Email Searches – Obtain email addresses, or learn about the owner of any address•Marriage Searches – Find out if a man or woman has ever been married•Divorce Searches – Check the divorce status of any man or woman•Property Searches – Learn about any piece of property, including the current owner and valueYou had the option to cancel this membership trial at any time via your account manager on the website, via email, or via phone. Per your request on 5/15/2015 we cancelled the automatic renewal of your membership.Given that members have access to unlimited searching and other features for a monthly fee, our Terms do not allow for refunds but simply allow users to cancel any time to avoid further billing. As we have already made a one-time exception and refunded a membership fee on this account in 2014 this time the charges are non-refundable.

Review: Peoplefinders.com automatically bills my account $24.95 every month since September 2013-February 2014 and I did not authorize the charges. I used their service once in September 9, 2013 and paid $40.94. I contacted peoplefinders.com for a refund of all of the unauthorized charges but they have refused and will not allow me to speak to a member of management.Desired Settlement: Refund to my debit card account for $149.70

Response:

Our records show that an order for a search was conducted by the

customer on 9/9/2013. At that time they had a choice to accept a special discounted price

available with a monthly membership or the full price for the search without

membership. The membership option was

affirmatively selected by them on 9/9/2013. That

membership provided a three day trial to try our services. Our membership service provides unlimited

searches and other features for a monthly fee.

This is clearly and conspicuously disclosed on the initial order

selection page. On the following checkout page it again

clearly states that after the initial trial, unless the

consumer cancels the service the service will continue monthly and the card

they provided will be charged until they tell us to cancel their membership to

avoid future charges. The membership is

mentioned no less than three times on two pages before the order is

complete.

Given that

members can conduct unlimited searches for a monthly membership fee our terms

do not allow for any refunds and simply allow members to cancel anytime to

avoid future charges. For the period of their membership the customer was charged

each month. During that time, our customer service was available to take the cancellation

at any time. We did not receive a

contact from the customer until six months

after the membership was initiated. On 3/11/2014 we agreed to refund one charge of $24.95 as a onetime courtesy. The customer left a voicemail for a supervisor. Per the customer's request a supervisor called out on 3/12/2014 and agreed to refund two additional charges of $24.95 each. In conclusion, the account is closed and we

have provided three months of

refunds.

Response:

If your intention was to run only one search, you had in fact selected the wrong product. The $40.94 background report you selected was discounted (normally $50.94) because it comes with a three day trial membership. If you wanted only one search the full price report should have been selected. We understand it was not your intention to enroll and have issued three refunds of $24.95 each. The remaining charges are non-refundable per the Terms you agreed to.

I am rejecting this response because: false and misleading advertisement.

Sincerely,

Review: On 10/8/13 I paid Peoplefinders.com $1.95 via my bank debit card through their website for a one time quick look-up for an old friend. I did NOT sign up for any accounts. The banking account that I used is a secondary account that is for small incidentals and I don't pay much attention to my usually small balance, and this is what they did... Four days later on 10/8/13 my account was charged $24.95. Again on 11/8/13, 12/9/13, 1/9/14, and lastly on 2/10/14. I received a notice from my bank on 2/18/14 that my account had been overdrawn. I had a sit-down with the bank manager to discuss how to proceed. I called Peoplefinders.com while at the bank and the woman hung up on me after about 3 minutes. I wanted to know WHY I WAS BEING CHARGED for something I didn't sign up for! Instead I hear a click. No explanation, no apology, no customer service... The bank representative filled out forms to dispute the charges but could only file those within 120 days. Not good enough. I want my money back! All of it. $124.75! Plus the $38.50 bank fee for overdrawing my account! Which by the way, I've NEVER done in my life. I used the $1.95 one time service and was on this site ONE TIME. Someone, somewhere needs to get to the bottom of how these people can get away with this! Now I see here on the Revdex.com that there are a lot of other similar complaints against this corporation, and I'm quite upset about them having an accredited status?!! It seems that Peoplefinders.com is having major issues with adherence to Revdex.com standards. I read the replies to so many other similar complaints and frankly, are you kidding?? Does this corporation really think they are going to convince this many people that they signed up for a service that they KNOW they didn't? Time to man-up Peoplefinders.com and stop scamming and stealing other peoples money!Desired Settlement: I want my money back! MY money, that was taken without my authorization. $124.75 plus $38.50 = $163.25. I want whatever bogus account you're claiming I have with your company GONE. You got your $1.95 for an address I was looking for. That's all you were suppose to get. REFUND. NO ACCOUNT. ASAP.

Response:

We have reviewed our files and our records show an order for a search was placed by this customer on 10/3/2013. She proceeded through the checkout process and completed her purchase. Immediately after clicking the “Complete my Purchase” button a full-page advertisement for a three day trial to our membership was displayed. The page clearly and conspicuously states that the membership will automatically renew monthly after the trial term until it is cancelled. The user has the option to either click “Yes” or “No” The Our records show that on 10/3/2013 this customer affirmatively selected to enroll in this membership by clicking the “Yes” button that reads “By clicking on the “YES” button below, you are agreeing to the Offer Details displayed on the right.” Per her request over the phone on 2/18/2014 this advertisement and the charges were explained to her, the account was closed, and a refund of $24.95 was issued as a one time courtesy. In addition, we have received a dispute from her credit card company on 2/28/2014. This customer will need to follow her credit card company’s policies regarding her dispute.

Review: Appears they may have since changed the wording on the website. Presently the web site states it in this way " Report + FREE Trial $0.95" If not careful, and elderly person or naive person could be duped into a 24.99 per month fee. You would enter a card number believing that you are purchasing something for $0.95, If you do not then get back to the website within 3 days you are enrolled. I have read that this practice is being outlawed. we were, unknowing to us, being billed for 7 months. There were no statements or confirmations sent by email. This type of business practice can only be for reasons of deception. There is no other reason why a business would need to do this to develop a customer base.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back and hope this practice can be stopped or prevented from financially harming others.

Response:

On 8/11/2013 this customer signed up for a $0.95 three day trial membership. This customer declined the post transaction offer for the PeopleFinders Rewards 7 day free trial membership. Therefor the customer was never charged additional charges for PF Rewards as mentioned in complaint. On 2/5/2014 they called and stated they thought the site was free and the representative explained we ask for credit card information and the total of $0.95 is displayed during checkout. We cancelled the automatic renewal per the customer’s request. Then on 2/22/2014 they called again to make sure the account was closed and there would be no further automatic billing.

When shopping online, it is the customer’s responsibility to read and understand what is being purchased. Given that members can conduct unlimited searches for a monthly membership fee our terms do not allow for any refunds and simply allow members to cancel anytime to avoid future charges. For the period of her six months of membership the customer was charged each month. During that time, our customer service was available to take her cancellation at any time. We did not receive notification that she wished to cancel until 2/5/2014.

Review: 12/22/14 I became a victim of fraud and is assisting the police in finding out who did this. I found a phone number on my bank online statement and used a reverse search service to locate where this number originated. When I put in the number on this site (white pages), peoplefinders.com popped up and claimed to have the owner's address and the owners name for this number, and that I could have this information for $3.95. I paid the money via credit card and did not receive any additional information. I immediately called peoplefinders at ###-###-####, talked to [redacted] (employee ID # [redacted]) and after I explained that I wanted my money back for false advertising, she stated that she returned the money and sent an email to confirm. Due to becoming a fraud victim just today, I questioned just who this company is. [redacted] stated that it is irrelevant to give me their company information. I stated that I need to know because of what happened (fraud) and because I believe that false advertising is involved. [redacted] refused to give me the location for the company except to say that they are in California, I then asked for a supervisor. Supervisor [redacted] (employee ID [redacted]) came on the phone and did the same. She refused to give me location information for the company and when I asked why, she questioned why I needed to know, which I then explained again, that it is because I paid money for something I did not get and my trust level is high because of what happened.I am filing a deceptive advertising claim against peoplefinders.com. They did not provide the information that they stated they had, after I made my payment to them. The money was refunded, although it will take several days according to both employees but my question is, Why the deception and why will they not tell me the customer where they are located besides "California"Desired Settlement: I would like for consumers to know what they are getting into when they use this company: they may not get the information that they requested, and this is what happened to me. Thank goodness I only paid the one time fee and did not sign up for monthly service. This company should have their call center employees. say where the company is located. By not providing this information, the company does not seem legitimate and it was clearly false advertising.Thank you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: Peoplefinder.com advertisted "unlimited reverse phone report" "Best Value" for $0.95. I made two searches on 3/31/15 with the assumption I would be charged $0.95 for each search. I contacted Peoplefinder on 3/4/15 when I was notified of a charge to my credit card that day. I was informed that I had agreed to "membership" if I didn't cancel in 3 days. I later looked at the page and found that this information was hidden behind their "Privacy Policy" and "Terms of Service" check box. I and several others have felt that this is deliberately misleading. The Membership clause should not be hidden behind the "Privacy Policy".Desired Settlement: I want my $24.95 refunded and the website changed to clearly indicate in a separate check-box line item that a Membership fee of $24.95/month will be charged if not cancelled within 3 days.

Review: In January 2014 my 90 year old uncle asked me to find his great nephew. I went on Peoplefinders and did a one time search for the fee of .48 cents on my credit card. My card was billed January 23rd for .48 cents and .47 cents, and on January 27th billed for $24.95. I have been billed $24.95 monthly since that time (its now July). It was hard to find a phone number anywhere, but when I did, I called the "customer care" phone number (###-###-####) which was answered by a recording with instructions to go on-line and log into my account if I want to cancel. There is NO option to speak with a real person. Because this was originally a .48 cent one-time search back in January, and I never intended to use it again I did not make note of which email account I used nor did I save the password so I could not log in to cancel. So, unable to get a person on the phone, I called my credit card company and asked them to stop paying it because I did not sign up for more than a one time .48 cent search. The bank issued me a new card and charges were reversed. But then,Peoplefinders sent to the credit card company documentation. My credit card company wrote to me, "documentation lacks sufficient info to verify a billing error occurred." So they are back on the new card! But documentation did show the email account that I had used, so I clicked "forgot password", received my password, tried to "log in" to cancel, but now with my EVERY attempt to log in, I get the message, "unable to log you in at this time. Please contact Customer Care at ###-###-####." That is the number with the recording telling me to log-in if I want to cancel. Apparently, they have blacklisted my email knowing full well that I intend to cancel since I tried to cancel through the credit card. If I can't log in to cancel, and the phone is only a recording, what am I to do? THIS OUTFIT DOES NOT DESERVE a Revdex.com rating of A+. Read the complaints, all are the same. They are NOT reputable and not forthright.Desired Settlement: I want "my account" cancelled immediately, I want a refund. I want to see this company's sneaky smoke and mirror deceitful advertising site required to be transparent with costs and fees clearly stated. I want their web sites required to clearly provide a means to cancel, with a real person on the phone, by email, by US mail. I want to see Revdex.com remove the A+ rating.

At the time of purchase you chose to receive a discounted price for signing up for a 3 day trial to our Membership. You had the option to cancel this membership trial at anytime via your account manager on the website, via email, or via phone. Simply remain on the line as the auto attendant menu advises and a representative can assist you directly. We did not receive any notification that you wished to cancel this trial. Rather, the only activity on your account is your card company contacting us on 6/16/2014 regarding three membership fees. The 3 day trial had already ended; therefore, you were charged the membership fee on the fourth day, and for every month thereafter.

You have already contacted your bank or Credit Card Company regarding these charges therefore we cannot offer you any refunds. You will now need to follow their policies and procedures regarding these charges. We received notice of the dispute on 6/16/2014 so your account was completely closed and the information you used to register was blocked from our system. This is why you are unable to login.

In conclusion your account is closed, there will be no further automatic billing and your bank found the charges to be valid.

At the time of purchase on 7/10/2014 you chose to receive a discounted price for signing up for a 3 day trial to our Membership. You had the option to cancel this membership trial at anytime via your account manager on the website, via email, or via phone. We did not receive any notification that you wished to cancel this trial. The 3 day trial has ended; therefore, you were charged the membership fee on the fourth day, and for every month thereafter.

You were billed the monthly membership fee of $24.95 on July 15th, August 15th and September 15th. Per your first request to our Customer Care department on 9/17/2014 we closed your account and granted one refund of $24.95, as a courtesy. The refunded amount was for the most current month of membership (September 15th).

You have stated over the phone and on this complaint that you have already contacted your bank or Credit Card Company and filed a dispute. Often, due to the dispute, you are given a conditional refund by your bank; therefore we cannot offer you any additional refunds.

In conclusion, we have issued one refund of $24.95 your account is closed and there will be no further automatic billing. If you have any questions regarding your [redacted] statements you will need to contact them directly.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because I feel that I've been duped into a erroneous 3-day trial period providing outdated info along with numerous other consumers as indicated on [redacted] which lists 19 pages of consumer complaints. It was my understanding that the 3-day trial would be a $1.95 "one time" payment. However, received the 1st bill in August for July charge of $24.95 and contacted Peoplefinders to dispute the charge but agreed to pay the $24.95 billed as I was advised by the rep that there would be NO further charges so I promptly paid the bill. In Sept. received a 2nd bill for $24.95 and contacted Peoplefinders to dispute the charges and spoke to rep [redacted] who advised me that a credit would issued for the full amount. Received the 3rd bill on October 10thfor $24.95 with a payment due date of November 10th, 2014 I then contacted Peoplefinders again to dispute the charges but was told that I had to contact my credit card company.

We feel we have already addressed these concerns. Due to the Terms you agreed to and the dispute you mentioned through the card company, we are unable to provide any further refunds. Again, per your first contact with our Customer Care department on 9/17/2014 we closed your account and refunded the most current membership fee of $24.95 charged on 9/15/2014. We are not responsible for being aware of your credit card's billing cycle or when you review your statements.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I requested a one time search for my tenant and agreed to a one time charge for that service. I have been billed $ 24.95 for each of three months for $ 74.85 in total. Even at $ 24.95 the information I received was useless and out dated. The Revdex.com.ORG for Palm Springs Ca. claims its review of peoplefinders is being updated . I had no problem obtaining information regarding the exact same scam being perpetrated upon other people. [redacted], [redacted], [redacted] { 19 pages of complaints } to mention a few, almost all with a similar method of operation by the employees of PEOPLEFINDERS.COM. I will not pay these charges and I WILL NOT let it end here. A few of the PEOPLEFINDER.COM centers in California have already been closed and all again have very negative feedback.

Review: Today, 11/11/15, I noticed that I had a charge of $24.95 on my bank statement from Peoplefinder.com which posted yesterday. When I called to inquire, I was told that I had signed up through Classmates.com last month and had been charged $12.95, at that time. I do not recall actually completing a sign up for this service, however, I have now been charged twice for a service that I have not used. So, after being told that THEY NEVER ALLOW REFUNDS, I decided to look someone up. It gave me ONE address which was 50 years old (high school addres) and a phone number that had an extention which was changed at least 15 years ago in that town! This is a horrible service for triple the cost of good businesses like [redacted]!! I do want this posted so that others (who are smart enough to check the Revdex.com first) don't fall into their trap!Desired Settlement: I would like them to credit my checking account for the $12.95 and $24.95 that they have charged me from the time I was tricked into enrolling through Classmates.com.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:Thank you for refunding me $24.95 I appreciate that. However, you took me for $12.45 through Classmares.com. I thought I had Xed out of it before a final acceptance, but that was not the case. In fact, I did not even use it because I did not know I had it. Please refund that amount, also. Thank you.

Business

Response:

We reviewed your account and found that an offer through Classmates.com was affirmitively selected on 10/10/2015. This special offer is discounted for the first month at $12.45 and renews monthly at $24.95. Pre this complaint, and as a onetime courtesy, we will grant one refund of $24.95. Please allow 2 to 5 business days for this to reflect on your account.

Response:

We refunded the $12.45 on 11/23/15.

Review: completely inappropriate automatic membership with no email verification. the monthly membership of $24.95 - outrageous - was billed in within 3 days

I used their service and authorized a $1.94 service charge - when asked if I wanted a full membership for an addtional $19.95 I responded no. There was no clear indication that I would be automatically enrolled at $25.00 per month if I did not cancel within 3 days. They sent no further notice just billed me. They refuse to refund the money. completely inappropriate.Desired Settlement: just want the $24.95 back that they charged me on 6/5/13.

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

The terms described above were not at presented in a fashion that was clear as to the commitment or obligation. It had to have been extremely small print or footnoted - I would never have agreed to those terms if they were clearly presented. I would also think that some form of notification would have been received at the point they billed me - nothing. Very disceptive business practice! Very dissatisfied.

Business' Final Response

The customer has a choice to accept a special discounted price available with a monthly membership or the full price for the search without membership. If a customer does not wish to enroll in membership they may choose the full price for one report. The membership provides a three day trial to try our services. Our membership service provides unlimited searches and other features for a monthly fee. This is clearly and conspicuously disclosed on the initial order selection page. Then the consumer is provided with an entire page outlining the terms of the membership which clearly and conspicuously states that after the initial trial, unless the consumer cancels the service the service will continue monthly and the card they provided will be charged until they tell us to cancel their membership to avoid future charges. The membership is mentioned no less than three times on three pages before the order is complete.

Given that members can conduct unlimited searches for a monthly membership fee our terms do not allow for any refunds and simply allow members to cancel anytime to avoid future charges. For the period of her membership the customer will be charged each month. During that time, our customer service is available to take the cancellation at any time.

Review: On July 4, 2014 I curiously went to Peoplefinders.com. The website offers FREE people finder information...you type in a name and you receive vague information about a person. The website then proceeds to offer you more detailed information about an individual as a "3 DAY TRIAL MEMBERSHIP" for THE PRICE OF $1.95. At that point you enter your credit card number. Following... it runs a query before your eyes...ending in 0 results. I selected a choice to pay a one time charge of $1.95 for contact information on July 4. I did not receive any other information in the report about the individual. On August 17 th I received my credit card statement and noticed that I was charged $19.95 for a 3 day trial which is $18.95 more than there advertised 3 day trial membership. Four days later, on July 8,2015, I was charged an ADDITIONAL amount of $ 29.95 and then on July 12, 2015 an ADDITIONAL $ 24.95 (a rewards charge) that I know nothing about...for a grand total of $74.84. I did not agree to a monthly billing plan... needless to say agree to $74.89 in charges in 12 days. These charges were not authorized by me. The terms were not clear on the website, a one- time charge of $1.95 turned into $74.89. I spoke with two very rude representatives. Representative number 1 was Emily. She did not have any of my contact information, when I asked her for it. I asked for a refund but was refused. I then asked for a confirmation email noting the cancellation of the membership and asked her to state my email address to confirm the cancellation. She gave me an incorrect email address. I then asked her how she was going to email me the confirmation of cancellation, when she did not have the correct email address and she became very aggressive and angry. I then asked to speak with a Supervisor...I was never connected, but instead DIAL TONED. After a lengthy query all I ever received was a name, age, and a list of 3 previous residences. That is a FREE service according to the website. What a scam!Desired Settlement: I want a refund to my account in the amount of $ 74.89. THIS WEBSITE IS A COMPLETE SCAM...and should be exposed to the public with all monies refunded to consumers. I am confident that this web company will be listed as " a class action suit" in the near future.

Public record information is not free on PeopleFinders.com. We offer a preliminary search prior to purchase which will indicate what information is available upon purchase for each listing. We offer this to ensure that you are fully aware of what information you will receive upon making a purchase. At the time of purchase you chose to receive a discounted price ($19.95) for signing up for a 3 day trial to our Membership. You had the option to cancel this membership trial at anytime via your account manager on the website, via email, or via phone. We did not receive any notification that you wished to cancel this trial. The 3 day trial has ended; therefore, as stated on each page of checkout, you were charged the membership fee ($24.95) on the fourth day and for every month thereafter. The charges of $24.99 is for PeopleFinders Rewards program. This allows you to get discounts on the different reports offered on our website. This extra service is presented to our customers through a full-page offer directly after checkout. Users may either accept or decline the offer. Our records show you affirmatively selected to enroll in PeopleFinders Rewards by clicking "Yes, sign me up for PeopleFinders Rewards..." instead of declining the offer. We did not receive notification that you wished to cancel this within your 7 day trial period; Therefore, as stated next to the required checkbox clicked by you, you were billed $24.99 on the eight day and every month thereafter. Per your initial request on 8/19/2015, two months after the memberships were initialed, we cancelled the automatic renewal of your memberships. The charges are non-refundable per the Terms you agreed to. Your memberships will expire at the end of this 30 day period and you are free to enjoy all the benefits of the service until then.

Review: On August 7, 2015 I was on a website performing a search for an individual. That individual was located and in order to obtain a report, I had to establish an account with peoplefinders.com. The options given to me for membership included 6 months of unlimited reports for $4.95 per month. My credit card was supposed to be billed $29.70; however, I received an email confirmation from peoplefinders.com advising that my card would be charged $59.70. I called the company to request a refund of the difference and the customer service agent said they could not issue a refund. I then sent an email to customer service providing proof of the advertised amount and requested a refund of the difference. I was informed that they were unable to offer a refund, but would like to offer me an extra 6 months of membership. I emailed them back advising that I did not wish an extra 6 months of membership and advised that I would like to cancel my membership and obtain a refund for the unused months as per their Terms of Service. I was once again informed that no refund would be issued.Desired Settlement: My credit card was charged $59.97 and I would like a refund based on my desire to cancel my membership as of August 15, 2015. According to the Terms of Service, I do not expect a refund for my membership from August 7, 2015 through September 7, 2015; however, I do want a refund for the remaining 5 months of my membership, which would be $49.75. ($59.97 per 6 months / 6 = $9.95 per month. $9.95 per month x 5 months = $49.75) I have documentation to support my claims.

Business

Response:

We have reviewed our files and found that this customer selected our six month unlimited Background Report Membership at $59.70, which breaks down to $9.95 per month. Given that members can conduct unlimited searches for a membership fee our terms do not allow for any refunds and simply allow members to cancel anytime to avoid future charges. Our customer service is available to take their cancellation at any time. The automatic renewal of the membership was cancelled per this customer's request over the phone on 8/7/2015. There will be no automatic billing. The customer is responsible for the purchase of the $59.70 membership and can enjoy all the benefits of membership until it expires on 2/3/2016.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: The Terms of Service states that "If you cancel a longer subscription term membership you may receive a pro-rated refund based upon any full months left on your term." I have 5 full months left on my term and according to the Terms of Service, which I agreed to, Peoplefinders.com has the ability to refund the remaining 5 months left on my subscription, but is refusing to do so. I think it is very bad business practice to make a consumer agree to a Terms of Service and then the company chooses not to abide by the same terms. I am still requesting a refund of the 5 months left remaining on my subscription $9.95 x 5 = $49.75.

Business

Response:

As a single Background Report on PeopleFinders.com is $39.95 we will refund the difference at $19.75 as a one-time courtesy. The remainder of $39.95 for a Comprehensive Background Report will be this customer's responsibility. Please allow 3-5 business days for this to fully process.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: My original purchase was for a 6 month membership at $4.95 per month for a total of $29.97; however, I was charged $59.70. The limited time offer for a 1 month membership was $9.95 per month as opposed to the regular price of $19.95 per month, which was shown on the original paperwork I submitted with my complaint. Peoplefinders.com is refunding me on $19.75 and saying that I am responsible for the remaining $39.95, which they claim is the cost of a one time comprehensive search. I have cancelled my 6 month membership; however, still had unlimited usage for 1 month. I appreciate the refund of $19.75; however, do not feel like I should be responsible for the remaining $39.95. I would be willing to pay for the 1 month unlimited membership for the cost of $19.95, per the paperwork I originally sent with my complaint. Since $19.75 has already been refunded, I would request that the remaining $20.00 be refunded as well.
