I am rejecting this response because:I followed the website instructions to immediately cancel my membership on the day that I first purchased it. I did not receive any email verification from you. The fact that you have no record of my canceling of the membership is either your error, or an error in your online system, as I exactly followed the instructions for cancellation

I am rejecting this response because:There was NO mention of a discounted price and it was not made clear that the charge was for a background check. It appeared that it was a monthly membership and I canceled as soon as I realized that I was not interested in the membership. The claims made by peoplefinders was not in the emails as they claim. Very deceptive business practices!

Hello Jorge, The response that I sent earlier was faulted. I didn't find the screen shots until I completed my response. I viewed all three(3) screen shots and found the first two(2) acceptable. The last one #3 where the Rewards program option is offered shows no proof that I accepted or rejected the offer which I disputed in my original complaint. Therefore I'm amending my complaint by accepting the charge of $19.95 for the trial offer and $29.95 for the membership fee. I'm standing ground on the charge $24.99, for the Rewards program, as the amount of restitution. In viewing the screen shots you will see how easily it is to make the mistake of not declining. The decline option is in much smaller print and under the Complete My Order button. People Finders didn't offer a screen shot of the next step. I don't believe the next page offered a review before the membership registering process was completed. If the review, with list of the total charges, was offered before the completion of the membership registering process, it probably help avoid any mistakes by the consumer and remove the appearance of deception along with reducing the number of complaints. The account was set up under a trial membership that was not canceled till 06/27/16.The customer has already been refunded three charges of $24.95. No further refunds will be given.

Finders started charging to my credit card as if I had an account. They charged me twice a month for multiple months. If this can not be resolved I will notify my bank that all charges from People Finders are fraudulent (which they obviously are since they have no record of an account under my email address).

I am rejecting this response because:i was not provided the opportunity to provide my credit card number. She simply said that if I would not provide my email address she would not help me. why should I have to provide additional personal information to an organization that specializes in finding people.  Why hey would I want to provide any additional info to an organization who may be responsible for the fraud? I have run run a business and I know I can find transactions by people's names, transaction dates, etc.. my alternative is to protest the charges with my credit card issuer. Businesses that run too many fraudulent transactions will be charged higher credit card rates or being cut off but the credit card processors. I am rejecting this response because: bait and switch. The merchant claimed to definitively have the information strictly to get the payment. Once the merchant got payment, suddenly they claim they are being "paid to do a search." They need to inform the public BEFORE the public submits payment, they are doing the search- not get payment by claiming to have information. This is fraud. I am going to contact an attorney to see about a class action law suit. The site is set up so that you do an initial search yourself submitting name and reverse phone information and peoplefinders.com will say whether or not they have the information requested. In this particular case, they indicated the information requested would be given once payment is made. SPECIFICALLY STATED: WE HAVE THE INFORMATION YOU REQUESTED. I then made payment. They then said, " We do not have the information you requested". This is a no-brainer bait and switch. Based on this, I want my refund, and this site needs to be shut down for FRAUD.

I am rejecting this response because: I requested a one time search for my tenant and agreed to a one time charge for that service. I have been billed $ 24.95 for each of three months for $ 74.85 in total. Even at $ 24.95 the information I received was useless and out dated. The Revdex.com.ORG for Palm Springs Ca. claims its review of peoplefinders is being updated . I had no problem obtaining information regarding the exact same  scam being perpetrated upon other people. [redacted], [redacted], [redacted] { 19 pages of complaints } to mention a few, almost all with a similar method of operation by the employees of PEOPLEFINDERS.COM. I will not pay these charges and I WILL NOT let it end here. A few of the PEOPLEFINDER.COM centers in California have already been closed and all again have very negative feedback.
