I purchased a $250 gift card for my mother and found out that Pier1 was going out of business shortly after. Pier1.com is no longer accepting gift cards as online payments and can only be used for in store. The issue is that my mother lives in rural area and does not have a car and the closest location is 1.5 hours away. I contacted customer support about this matter and after waiting 2.5 hours to speak with someone and the representative said there was nothing they could do.

$875 worth of products has not arrived and not shipped in over 45days. They said it would be up to 21days till it would be shipped. Customer service will not take my calls and online chat is not available.

On June 4th I purchased several furniture items from Pier 1 with White Glove Delivery Service. These items are:

Swingasan Chair, Stand, & Cushion
48" Round Table
40" glass table cover
4 Capri dining chairs

I havea been charged $1,864 for these items plus a lamp that I received. I have not been contacted about delivery and every single attempt I have made to contact the company for a status has resulted in being disconnected.

I am rejecting this response because: they kick the can over to Ryder, but I contacted Ryder and they claim to have never received the merchandise. I am cancelling this order. Terrible customer service.

May 26, 2020: I purchased online $869.96 worth of outdoor furniture from Pier 1 (order #***). I paid an additional $169 for white glove delivery.

June 10, 2020: I received an email from Pier 1 saying "Items sent to the carrier for delivery" and "it may take 5-7 business days to arrive at the *** Hub. Once received at the *** Hub, they will contact you via phone and email to schedule delivery for your order. Your credit card has been billed."

June 19, 2020 (7 business days from June 10 when Pier 1 notified me that my order had been sent to *** for delivery): I still had not heard from ***. I checked the *** tracking website but there was no record of my Pier 1 order number. I called ***, waited 30 minutes, and finally was able to speak to a representative. She said my order had not yet arrived at the *** hub in Los Angeles and they would call me to set up delivery after it had arrived. She said it might take 7 to 14 days.

June 30, 2020 (14 business days from June 19): My order still did not appear on the *** tracking website. When I called Pier 1 a voicemail message said I would have to wait 2 hrs to talk to a representative. Next I tried to chat online with a representative. I waited in queue 30 minutes only to be cut off with a message indicating that there were no representatives to chat with. I tried calling three different local Pier 1 stores but was unable to talk to a salesclerk or leave a message. I cannot go to a Pier 1 store because I am 72 years old and at high risk for serious complications if I were to contract COVID-19.

June 30, 2020: 14 business days from June 10 when my order supposedly left the Pier 1 warehouse and was sent to *** Hub. There was still no record of my order on the *** Hub tracking website.

July 8, 2020 (14 days from June 19 when a *** representative told me my order should be ready for delivery): I still have not heard from *** or Pier 1 about the delivery of my order. There is no mention of my order on the *** tracking website. There is no address for Pier 1 on the Pier 1 website so I cannot even write to the company to inquire about my order.

I would like Pier 1 to refund my money ($1,106.38).

I placed a $1,500.00 order on June 11, 2020 and still have not received the order. Website says it could take 21 days but it has been well past 21 days and I can't reach anyone by live chat or telephone. When I call the recording says I could have a 3 hour wait. Live chat lets me sit for a long time telling me what customer I am in line, but when it gets to me it disconnects. They took my money out of my account as soon as I placed the order but I can't get any updates on when I will receive my products. I either want a full refund immediately or the products delivered immediately.

I tried to place an order for an outdoor dining set on May 30th, 2020. I did not receive any sort of confirmation email or text message saying that my order went through. I received no order number. My credit card was not charged at that time. I checked for several days to see if I had any sort of confirmation email about the order. Nothing was sent to me. Not in my junk or spam email either. Again, my credit card was not charged. On June 6th, 2020, I went into the Pier one store in Minnetonka, MN and talked to a staff person. She said that if my card was not charged, then the order did not go through. I then happened to see the exact table that I wanted in the store, so I purchased it at that time. Now, on June 26th, my credit card has been charged for the dining set. I tried several times to call Pier one, from May 30th to June 6th. There were hold times of 4 hours. I finally got through to a chat person yesterday and she said a confirmation email was sent to me. That is not true. She said they will not cancel or refund me because the order has shipped. Again, I have no information about the order being even processed or shipped. Why would I buy the table in the store if I had a confirmation email? And, their employee told me that the order did not go through because I wasn't charged. Now, Pier one is saying they don't charge the card until it has shipped. I just want to be able to get refunded since I already have the table. I re-checked my emails from May 30th and I have nothing that says my order went through or was shipped. And, they waited four weeks to charge my credit card? This is unfair.

I DROVE ALMOST AN HOUR TO A PIER 1 STORE TO USE MY $90 MERCHANDISE CREDIT AND WAS TOLD THEY ARE "NO LONGER ACCEPTING THOSE". THEY ARE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS, BUT MANY STORES ARE STILL OPEN AND WELL-STOCKED WITH MERCHANDISE. I WAS NOT MADE AWARE THAT THEY STOPPED ACCEPTING GIFT CARDS OR STORE CREDIT. THEY HAVE MY $90, SO I EXPECT SOMETHING IN RETURN. AT THIS POINT, A REFUND IS EXPECTED.

We did order a dining table and 4 chairs on June the 12th2020 , order number ***, on there website said May take up to 21 days to ship , it’s more than 21 days and no updates can’t even reach customer service tried multiple times but was not successful after waiting hours on hold then the line died

I placed an order for an 11" and an 8" Mercury Glass & Gold Decorative Box. My order was processed, and I was overcharged by $30.59. I have waited for hours to speak to someone by telephone and by chat, but I cannot get anyone to answer. I tried calling the local store, but they cannot help me either.

Placed an order on 6/1 for the odette blue capiz cabinet, papasan natural chair base, and papasan natural chair bowl for a total of $837.57. The order stated it will take 21 days for delivery, attempted to get in touch with customer service (2-3 hour wait periods, after waiting 1 hour the call dropped), online portal (was 121 on line when reached 0 noone assisted - all this happened several times) and local stores (called - employee states she is unable to assist as the order number does not show up on her end and has been getting numerous complaints from other customers). It has been well over 38 days (still have not received the order). All of a sudden we see a charge of $837.57 on our credit card and no delivery, no items, no word, and no way to get in touch with anyone. This is unacceptable, we would like a resolution, a full refund as we are planning to dispute a charge for something we did not receive and had no way of knowing was coming to us in the first place.

My gift card says it never expires yet I’m told I cannot use it.
The website listed it to be valid in stores 30 days after opening and my store has been open 29 days.

I only received half of my online order, (outstanding amount of furniture missing is $774.88) and Ryder delivery service will not come back to the home, until Pier 1 provides instructions. I have been on hold for over 3 hours, waiting for customer service. Store locations will not take the wrong furniture that was delivered not credit my account.

On July 2, 2020 I purchased 4 Blue Rim Double Old Fashioned Glass-Item: ***. I used a $30 gift card (gift card number ***) and also used my credit card for $15.32. The email I received stated it was in the works. I then received an email on July 6th stating my order has been cancelled. When I attempted to call the call center they were closed even though it was 12pm and their hours stated they were open. I also attempted the chat and I would continue to be in the que and then when I was number 1 it would say there are no available agents. When I called customer service today, July 7th, I waited on the phone for 1 1/12 hours. I finally spoke to someone who said I couldn't use the gift card anymore and they wouldn't let me exchange the unavailable items for available ones. I do not understand why if I had the $30 and used it on the day I could use it it was cancelled and now I can no longer use it. It is not I who cancelled the order but the company.

The first day Pier1 was open after lockdown I stood in line at Alpharetta store for 2 hours to place my order. Order was delayed many times and then cancelled, I was not given any option. I was asked to place the same order online for a higher price with ‘white glove delivery’ charges while there is no assembly required. Now the same thing is happening and order keeps getting delayed. The order receipt says ‘all sales final’. Business gets all the protection and they cancel at will while I haven’t received any service for the price I paid. Pier1 is our laying the Bankruptcy card too hard to justify anything and everything that they are doing.

I ordered 4 wicker chairs on May 15, 2020.(Order number ***). On May 22, 2020 I received an email stating that due to COVID there would be a delay in delivery of the chairs. It was suggested that it would likely take at least 21 business days. It has been 35+ business days and no word from Pier 1 or the delivery company. I have not been able to get through to customer service. The phone line says your wait time is greater than 2 hours and the chat line drops you once you get to the end of the queue.

I have (2) $25 gift cards. I attempted to use them on line in May when the comment came back that there were zero balances on both. I contacted the number on the back of the cards on May 15th, scratched off the security code while on the phone with customer service and was told they were deactivated by Pier One for lack of use. I was told they could have them reactivated and it would take 5 business days. I waited a few weeks and still they had zero balances. Since I had not heard any response, I contacted them again on 6/3. They said they would "send it up again..." and so I waited. I tried the on line chat several times, waited the incredible waited times only to be disconnected each and every time. My last attempt was a call customer service number again 6/12 having to explain the situation again and was told that I needed to understand that they filed chapter 11 and it was up to their discretion to activate the cards. He also told us that the cards were old and Pier One had the right to deactivate them even if the back of the card says they will never expire. He rudely stated I had already called and filed a claim and should be patient...How long does someone have to be patient to get their money??? until their doors are permantly closed???Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Used $30.00 Pier1 gift card to place an online order on June 23, 20. I placed the order to avoid the loss of the value of my gift card. It was my understanding at that time that gift cards would no longer be accepted online after July 2, 2020. I checked on my order today to see when it would be delivered and found an email dated July 25, 2020, stating my order had been canceled and my gift Card had been credited $30.00. The email read as follows: The eGift Card below has been credited with your refund amount from Order #***. (Added space to order number in order to stop error message regarding SS#) Please use it to shop pier1.com and find everything you need for your one of a kind home. We apologize for any inconvenience. Nothing was said about the deadline of July 2, 2020. I called my local store and was told I could not use my gift card online or in the store. I was told my order had probably been canceled because they are so far behind on filling orders that the merchandise was probably not available. Needless to say, I feel that I have been cheated. My order should have never been approved since they obviously did not intend to guarantee the availability of the merchandise. Can anything be done to allow me to receive $30.00 worth of merchandise from Pier1.

On May 25, 2020, I placed an order for patio furniture. The order number is ***. My credit card was charged $1259.52 on June 10, 2020. To date I have not received my order. I have tried calling Pier One customer service number numerous times, and each time I am disconnected after waiting for up to an hour at a time. The delivery company, Ryder, that they hired to deliver my furniture claims they have not received the Mocha Celeste bistro table but have received everything else on the order. They will not deliver any of the pieces until the order is complete. Since my credit card was charged the entire amount, and an email from Pier One dated on June 9, 2020 claims to have sent all of the pieces, I am afraid that there was an error and the bistro table was not sent.

I am requesting a Refund of gift card that I can no longer use due to our store being closed since beginning of Covid 19 and my just finding out that it cannot be used thru Pier one.com. I have a $200.00 gift card that is now useless. I was planning on using this card once we had finished an addition to our home but now I’m being told I cannot use this card. I have only had this card for 6 months and with stores being closed since March due to virus I was unable to use it locally and NOW I find out gift cards are not accepted on Pier one.com. You accepted my money that my husband gave you in good faith for a gift card that could be used at anytime But now you won’t accept your gift card for merchandise that can only be purchased thru your website

I was not given any choice on redeeming my gift card other than driving over 150 miles to a store to shop. As we are in the middle of a pandemic I don’t think that would be a wise choice and not an option as far as I am concerned. Again I feel I am being robbed of my money that my husband spent on a $200.00 gift card and should be refunded this amount by Pier One since they cannot allow me to shop online with my card.

Pillows labeled $39.99 and rung up for $49.99 each. I purchased 4 and was OVERCHARGED $40. I didn’t even leave the store and the total price seemed high, so I looked at my receipt and pointed out that the prices weren’t correct and they told me that they wouldn’t honor the price tags even though the price tags are sewn into the pillows. Manager claimed that bc the store is going out of business, hat they couldn’t change the price to the correct price and refused a refund (I didn’t want to return the pillows, just wanted them to not overcharge me).
