We bought a table in March the week before California was out under a stay at home order. We are one week outside of the 2 month return window and unable to reach customer service. Our dining room table is already bubbling up under one of the wooden slats. The rest of the table in fine but that area is noticeable and seems poorly sealed. There was no abuse, just daily use. This is very disappointing. We have been calling during listed business hours and unable to reach anyone. We either get disconnected or it says closed. I spent 3 hours on chat today ...I would get to number 1 in line and then disconnected. We are so dissapointed the table damaged not even 2 months after owning it. We would like to pursue a refund or a replacement for the table. Not sure if just the one part of the table could be sent. We don’t need the extension part. It is upsetting I cannot reach one person. We loved the table, but are disappointed and disappointed we cannot reach anyone. We bought from Pier One because we thought they would stand by their product.

I received a deliver of dinner plates and bowls and they’re all broken. Box was open when delivered. Tried 7 times to reach customer service and experienced 3 hour wait times and then dropped calls. I also called
Number on back of my Pier 1 card to speak to rep about getting a refund and noting the charge. I was transferred to the customer service # that’s not answering. Very upset. Been a long time rewards member and this is ridiculous. Also...I don’t think it makes sense to ship broken pieces of dinnerware back due to shipping expense to company.

Not able to contact Pier1 by phone or online chat for the last 3 days for an damaged item I received last week. I have tried numerous times throughout the last 3 days but the phone number is always busy and the online chat cancels me out when I finally become 1st for an available customer representative!
I am also not able to return my damaged items to my local store due to it being temporary closed.
How can I return my damaged product (outdoor patio chairs)?

I was able to visit my local reopened Pier1 store today, Wednesday, May 27th and I received a full refund for my damaged item.

I am considering my claim as resolved.

On April 28th I ordered 4 items online. On May 3rd I received an email that my order was still being processed. On May 12th only 1 item was delivered. There is no update on the other items. I have tried the chat no less than 10 times in the past week and each time I am the top of the queue, I am kicked off an told no agent is available. I have tried every number I can find on the internet for Pier 1 and all I get is a Verizon message saying that the number is not working (I have tried 4 different numbers). I understand they want to file Chapter 11, but it is completely unacceptable to continue to sell items with no means of customer service.

I am rejecting this response because:

This issue is not resolved. I spoke with *** who told me that she could not guarantee my items, and it would take at least 3 business days to hear back from the warehouse. Seeing that my local Pier 1 had the items (at a higher price than I paid online) we agreed that my order would be cancelled and that I would be refunded. On May 27th I received an email that my items had shipped and my credit card was charged. I do not want these items, and because the company is going out of business I cannot return the items. I want my money back. This is absolutely ridiculous.

We have refunded our customer in full.

We ordered a set of bar stools, and need to return them, as they were not the right style. Infuriatingly, it has been IMPOSSIBLE to contact customer service to start a return (and you can't start a return online). I have been on hold several times for 40-60 minutes, only to be disconnected (or disconnected immediately). Having given up on the phone, I turned to the online chat, where I started out as "120 in the chat" and patiently waited until I was "3 in the chat", only to be "disconnected". My concern is that the company has filed for bankruptcy, and may never re-open their retail stores, particularly given the horrific level of customer service they seem to be providing. I have never had a customer service experience this poor in my entire adult life, from a previously reputable company no less.

Retail stores in GA were able to open shortly after I made my complaint, and we returned the stools to the Cumming, GA location, and credit issued. We will also contact *** to let them know that the credit posted to our account.

I placed an order online on April 29 for several melamine plates, bowls and glasses from an email I received from Pier 1. To date, I have only received 4 of those items (out of 36). I have been trying to contact customer service both by phone and chat. I sit in the queue on the chat and right as I get close it cancel's my session. When I call, the call always gets dropped or it says they are closed even though it is during their stated business hours. I would like to know if I will ever receive this product or cancel the order.

I ordered a rug over a month ago and can’t get ahold of anyone in customer service to return the item. This item is damage, and I bought a replacement rug through pier 1. However when trying to return the original item (order # ***), I wait on hold for over a few hours and get hung up on every time. I have tried over ten times via phone. When doing the online chat, I wait for about 30-45 minutes and then it notifies me that no agents are available.

I ordered a TV tray set on 5/2/2020 (order# ***) and it was FINALLY delivered on 5/19/2020. Upon opening it, trays were scratched, dirty & had scuff marks on the legs. Additionally, 2 items were missing for the tray stand- small wrench--most important part & wood plugs. I have tried to contact them via Chat or phone all day on 5/20,& finally had to hang up b/c the hold time was over 2 hrs.!! Several times I waited for my place on Chat, & EVERY time I would get to my place a message would come up- "No chat assistance available" please try again later, or it would disconnect me!! There is no email anywhere to contact customer relations (as it "says" on the website).

I know they're short staff due to COVID-19, but this is RIDICULOUS. All the stores are closed & I am stuck with TV trays that I spent over $90.00 on & probably won't work b/c the stand can't be put together from missing pieces.

I returned a coffee table that was purchased online and they have received it. I have proof of delivery (UPS) and a note pending refund, but cannot obtain a refund. No one answers the phone and their chat room is bogus with no agents available. I know they are BK and don’t want to end up in line with the rest of the creditors.

I am a very long time customer of Pier 1 Imports but I have recently had the worst experience with them. I’ve placed many online orders during the COVID-19 pandemic. One order in particular I placed on 4/26/20. I kept receiving updates that my order was shipped and the delivery dates were pushed back 4 times. When I finally received the order, most of my order was missing. I ordered 10 candles and there was only 1 candle in the box. The shipment didn’t even include a packing slip, just 1 candle. So I checked online thinking maybe my shipment was split up, and found that it said my order was completed online. No additional shipments were processing or had been shipped. I’ve tried tirelessly to get in contact with someone at customer relations. I’ve called to no avail, emailed to no avail, and waited twice for over 20 minutes on the online chat only to be told there are no agents available. I understand that the company is now going out of business, however, there is never an excuse for poor customer service. If there’s no one available to get in contact with in customer service, they should not be taking customers money. I still have other orders that are delayed, being processed and I have no idea if they will show up or not. I just want the rest of the products I paid for or a full refund. This is not COVID related, it’s just bad business.

I purchased two lamps online. There was a significant delay in delivery. Once they arrived, it was noted that they were both damaged. I spoke with customer service, the return was authorized, and the lamps were shipped back in April. Tracking shows they were received on May 1. I still have yet to receive a refund. Order number was ***. I have tried to reach out to customer service to no avail. There is no phone number to reach a human. I have waited for hours at a time for an online chat agent, only to be told there are no agents available after I have waited and waited. I have tried for many days to reach an online chat agent. The purchase was made both with a gift card and with a credit card, so part of the refund should go back to my credit card and the rest a store credit. With the company filing bankruptcy, I would like to receive my refund as soon as possible so that I can use it before they completely go out of business.

The customer's refund has been processed. Most of the amount was issued onto a gift card since this was the original form of payment. Please be aware that there is a limited time during which gift cards are being accepted for payment. You may still use this 30 days from the date your local store opened and through July 2 on our website. After those dates gift cards will have no value and they can not be cashed out, even now.

I've been trying to reach this company by phone and online "chat" for days so I can return a couple of pillows I bought from them. They don't answer the phone (recorded message says they are busy, then hangs up) and after waiting in a chat room for 30 minutes or so, it disconnects - every time!

I have placed two orders with Pier1 the first arrived damaged. The second wasn't what I ordered. I have tried repeatedly to get in touch with customer service. I have been on hold for upwards of an hour only to be disconnected on. Attempted the online chat. Stayed on for 30 minutes only to be told when my turn arrived that no one was available and the connection was cut off.

No phones are being answered for last several days. This company is going to permanently close shortly, leaving no one person to authorize a return for credit for a new item. Payment in full closes in about a week, which the posts noted several months may be required for a refund. I have tried 1-***-***-*** to be placed on a chat list showing a “wait time” of 43 minutes. This was a joke- you get down to 5 minutes and they cut you off, saying to try again later. We have tried this 3 different times to see responses, all the same. The company is supposedly still open for online orders, which should not be happening, since there is no support. They need to shut the operation down.

I placed an order with Pier1 on May 6. I received a couple of deliveries, but I am missing one. The item shows as processing, and the tracking number cannot be located by UPS when I attempt to track it. I have attempted calling in to Pier1 customer support numerous times to receive a busy signal only. Every time I attempt to use the support chat, it allows me to wait and then displays a message that I cannot be connected. This unacceptable. Please deliver the item, or issue me a refund. Am I unable to speak to anyone about this?

At the beginning of May I purchased 8 outdoor seat cushions. Upon arrival I realized that they are not the right size and need to be returned. The Pier 1 store in my area is still closed, even though other retail stores have been allowed to open back up. When I have tried to call to initiate the return my wait time is over 3 hours. I have tried to chat with someone for the last three days, multiple times, and each time I get to the end and it says no one is available and my request is cancelled.

Placed an online order with Pier1 on May 3rd. Received my item in damaged condition (have photos to prove issues) . I placed an order about a week ago, I believe 5/14 with Pier 1. I did not receive an email of an order confirmation and also did not make note of my order number as I was expecting an email (like all other retailers do). I have tried several times to contact customer service to confirm my order was received. I either get a busy signal or the line just goes dead after the prompts. My credit card has a pending charge from Pier 1. I also did notice the price has gone down on the product and would like a price adjustment if possible.

I purchased a lamp online and just received it and need to return it. What on earth pier one actually forces you to CALL a number that does not connect or work to make a simple return?!! How antiquated and completely frustrating for a customer. It has zero to do with covid 19.... I need to make a return and get a return label for order no *** for transparent glass and iron lamp item no ***. Total 106.26. I am a long-standing customer and am appalled at this antiquated lack of customer care. Wow. I will second guess ever making another online purchase from pier one again. Very upset
